Next morning.
Sakura woke in the place she loved the most and never wanted to leave. In bed, in the arms of her lover. Naruto was still sleeping. Her bare back pressed against his chest, two strong arms holding her lovingly. If this was heaven, she never wanted to leave.
As the sun was shining through the sliding door across from where they slept. She could feel her bed companion start to move. As she felt his arms slacken, she turned to face him. She could see that he was just on the edge of coherence. The goofy grin that she loved, starting to form on his face.
"How is my blossom this morning?" He asked as he kissed her forehead. The feeling of his lips on the green diamond shaped seal on her forehead, was warm and tingly. It still made her feel safe and loved.
"Amazing." She answered. Making love to Naruto was always amazing. "Also a bit hungry."
A snort of laughter came from him. "I suppose I could get up and make you something."
There was a knock at the door. "Hey Forehead. Drag yourself away from your boyfriend. I need to talk." It was Ino. She sounded a little distressed. Sakura let out a little moan. Spending the day in bed with Naruto sounded amazing. Heck breakfast in bed with him sounded even more so.
"She isn't going to go away, and killing her isn't an option. Besides hiding bodies is tricky in the village." He told her. He had on that mytfist grin of his.
"Besides, I have to escort Sasuke and Karin to granny anyway. He Added.
They got up. Sakura tossed on a robe and went to see what Ino wanted. Naruto went to grab a shower and head out to take Sasuke and Karin to Tsunade.
She walked to the door. Opening it, she readied to give her friend the really stare. When the door opened Ino seemed about to panic.
Sakura looked at her friend. "What's wrong?"
"Something in my and Sai's relationship has changed. Nothing bad, we just kind of accelerated things a bit."
Sakura's had a blank expiration on her face. "You mean Sai, as in my teammate Sai?" She asked.
Ino just simply nodded.
Years later. The Hideaway.
A seven month pregnant Sakura Uzumaki sat in a nest of cushions looking out the front sliding door of her bedroom. The pile of cushions and pillows was her favorite place to be next to the bed across the way. There was a small table next to her, hot herbal tea in a cup, and some cookies from the bakery that Hinata told her about. Hinata was also about seven or so months along in her first pregnancy. The one that was having the worst luck was Ino. She was having twins. Ino and Sai had married a little after Naruto and her. Kiba and Hinata had married before them. Not too long after the end of the fourth great ninja war. The world was mostly at peace now. With only the occasional dust ups here and there. The Land of Stone was still a pain about joining the new Alliance that had formed. The war had almost cost her everything she now held dear to her. Naruto had lost Kurama, Obito was going to unleash the Ten Tails on the world. He was going to activate his Eye of the World plan, and put everyone in a genjutsu. But before he could Naruto and Sasuke were saved by the Sage of Six Paths. He breathed life back into both of them. Something that Sakaru and Karin couldn't do, he gifted them with the power to defeat the Ten Tails and take out Obito. She didn't like thinking about that time.
Ino wasn't the only one having twins. Sakura was as well. Ofcourse Naruto passed out after hearing the news. She closed her eyes remembering that day. She smiled, from the memory and that she could sense a familiar chakra coming toward her. A pair of warm lips kissed her forehead.
"How are my three favorite people doing today?" Her husband asked.
"Good." She told him. Sometimes being near him was enough to make her day better.
"All though your children have been active." She directed his hand to a spot on her stomach, and waited to see something that only she got to see.
Naruto had different smiles. There was the usual happy one. That one could brighten anyone's day. Then there was the one when he was being an ass, and knew it, but what would you expect from a born prankster. Then there was the one that only she got to see. It was the brightest of them all. She loved seeing it. It wasn't all wine and roses though. Naruto's childhood had left scars. They still haunted him at times. There were nights that she would just hold him, like a mother would a child as he would cry. Then there were the nightmares. She had healed as much of it as she could and it didn't happen often anymore, but during stressful events they would resurface. His biggest fear now was that he would fail as a father, but she knew he wouldn't.
One of the twins kicked, and there it was. The smile she wanted to see.
"Kakashi sensei let you off early today?" She asked.
"Ya. Getting close to the big day anyway, and I am going to be needed here more pretty soon." He told her to sit down in front of her, resting his back against one of the sliding doors.
She nodded. "Yep." there was a pop at the end. He had rubbed off on her a bit. She had played more than one prank on him.
He smiled at her silliness. "Are you hungry?" He asked. Dinner was still about an hour away yet.
She nodded that she was. "I think a few bowls of ramen will do." She told him. He knew exactly what she wanted.
An exact copy of him materialized next to him. "The lady wants ramen. You know what to do."
"On it Boss." With that the clone left.
"Getting pretty good at that Uzumaki." She told him, as he went to get himself some tea.
"I should hope so. Been doing it a while now." He said, making his way to the kitchen.
Her life was blessed. She had a good marriage, with a loving husband. In a couple of months they would have new additions to their family. She had a simple, but nice home. It now had a second level added to it. Naruto was on the fast track to becoming Hokage, but he wanted to wait until after the children were born. He wanted to be part of their lives so they didn't go through what he had. All of this from making a decision to take a chance on what was right in front of her the whole time. Life was good.
