Now that Seth knows the whole Truth about Sasha and Roman, the Shield have a very difficult decision to make. With the New Year just around the corner, DX do everything they can to stop things from getting out of control.
Chapter Eighteen – Without You
MSG, New York City
The roster had been in New York for a week and the Superstars couldn't help but look as the media swarmed Manhattan, covering the fire at the Enigmatic Hotel. There was now a gap where the luxurious hotel used to be, burned into a black tower making the people of New York stand and stare. Even the fans in the building were talking about the fire.
It was time for the show to start but Bianca Belair was not ready, she was waiting for Seth to call her and tell her how things went with Sasha. The Boss wanted to go home to Los Angeles without him and he was having a hard time convincing her to stay in New York for one more night, or at least until the end of the show. It was distracting to Belair because she knew the Boss was upset about having Roman's baby, why she thought going to LA without her husband was the solution was beyond her. Sasha was being way too hard on herself, even after Triple H profusely apologised to her, the Boss still felt exhausted by the last 24 hours. There were only a few more days to go until the end of the year and Seth wanted to make sure he left 2023 with his wife safely by his side.
Bianca looked up from her cell-phone and saw Seth and Sasha coming towards her hand-in-hand. Seth had convinced his wife to stay in New York for a little bit longer and Belair couldn't have been happier to see them both. She gave them both a hug and then headed to the ring as her music played. Seth and Sasha smiled at the response Bianca got from the fans, she was definitely going into the New Year a bigger star than she had ever been before. Seth was so proud of her but his mind was distracted by the blue-haired beauty holding his hand.
"Are we okay?" he asked her earnestly and Banks shook her head indicating that she wasn't okay.
"I told you I want to go home. You should have just let me go; once Charlotte shows up its over, I'm going to go over to her and punch her right in the face. I can't stand that woman," Sasha said and Seth squeezed her hand lovingly.
"Baby will you calm down? The Queen is in a feud with Bianca, not you," Seth said.
"Yeah well, maybe she needs someone in her corner. Maybe someone like me, someone who isn't afraid of Charlotte Flair," Sasha said.
"You wanna be in Bianca's corner?" Seth asked his wife raising his eyebrow. "You do know you're having a baby in four months right?"
"I don't care I don't want to go home and just wait to have this baby, I need something to do in the mean time. It would be different if the baby was yours but its not so, I might as-well go back to work," Sasha said and Seth understood where his wife was coming from.
"You can't treat this baby any different because its not mine. You have to be just as protective of him as if he were mine, that means, staying home and not putting any unnecessary pressure on yourself," Seth said.
"I can still travel for two months Seth. DX can book me up until February at least, then I'll sit at home and wait to have Roman's baby," Sasha said and Seth furrowed his brow at his wife. She was still upset, even though Roman and Galina had reconciled, the Boss was very much carrying a lot of pain about not having Seth's son. "I need something to take my mind off of how messed up my life is right now. You'll support me right?"
"No I won't support you, baby this is not a good idea. You can't be in the ring right now, something could happen and the baby could get hurt," Seth said and Sasha started to get upset.
"I don't want this baby Seth, I want your baby," Sasha said tearing up and Seth cupped her face in his hands gently.
"You'll have my baby, I know this is not the way you pictured your first pregnancy but Sasha, this is all your fault. You have to deal with the consequences of your actions and coming back to work and getting in the ring with Charlotte and Bianca is not how you deal with this," Seth said soberly and Sasha gnashed her teeth.
"I don't care and its not up to you anyway. Nothing in my life is up to you anymore," Sasha said and Seth hugged her and tried to calm her down. When Alexa Bliss showed up with AJ Styles, Seth motioned to her and she scooted over to Seth and Sasha while AJ looked on concerned. Alexa and Sasha prayed over the Boss and moments later the Boss was asleep. Alexa had prayed for her to sleep, it was the only way Seth could think of calming her down. She was getting herself all wound up and she needed to rest; all the stress she had experienced was not good for her or the baby.
"Is she okay?" AJ asked Seth.
"Mind your own business AJ Styles," Seth replied and he put his wife in DX's makeshift office with Alexa Bliss coming along to make sure the Boss was soundly asleep.
"What is going on with those two?" AJ Styles thought as Charlotte Flair showed up with the Street Profits.
"Beats me," Charlotte said with faux apathy; she was genuinely worried about the Boss. In spite of their intense hatred for each other, the Queen still had a lot of respect for the Boss and wanted her to be a happy and healthy first-time mom. "Hey AJ, did you lose all your stuff in that fire?" Charlotte asked AJ Styles swiftly changing the subject.
"Yeah but at least nobody got hurt," AJ Styles replied. "Where were you guys staying?"
"We were at the Westin in New Jersey ironically," Charllotte Flair replied. "Then we went to North Carolina with Steph and Jeff Hardy. Stephanie is livid; she wants to know how that fire started. I'm just glad Monty and Dawkins didn't get hurt,"
The Street Profits blushed at the Queen, Montez was blushing for a whole other reason. Making love to his wife in New York City certainly took his mind off of the fire.
"Shall we enter the ring my Queen?" Montez said extending his arm to Charlotte Flair who reciprocated with her hand.
"If thing go my way, next year you'll be my King," Charlotte said and she kissed Montez Ford on the cheek and they walked through gorilla as Charlotte's music played.
Meanwhile Seth and Alexa walked together after making sure Sasha was comfortable. The Boss was clearly having a hard time dealing with the knowledge that her baby wasn't Seth's and if she didn't get over it, Seth feared that the baby's health might be at risk.
"I'm going to have to superglue myself to her ribcage," Seth said.
Alexa furrowed her brow at Seth, "How are you going to do that? You're scheduled tight for the next four months, DX are never going to give you that much time off to be with Sasha," Alexa Bliss said. "Let's just all watch her; we'll take it in turns, she won't be in any danger if we're all keeping an eye on her. You can't put your career on hold because your wife is upset about having another man's baby, as much as that sucks. You have a contract and you have to fulfil it,"
"I know," Seth said and Alexa couldn't wait for Bianca's segment with Charlotte to end. She really needed to talk to the Braid about the Boss. Alexa had never been so concerned about Seth's career; he was already in so much hot water, if he made one more decision out of concern for his wife, he might not have a career to come back to next year.
In the ring:
BELAIR: What's the matter Queen? You look a little flushed, did you burn yourself out trying to seduce my husband last night?
[fans cheer Belair]
FLAIR: No actually, I burned myself out making out with your husband while you were getting drunk with the Man in Midtown.
[the fans go nuts at the mention of Becky Lynch and a massive "Becky!" chant broke out for two straight minutes]
BELAIR: Yeah the Man sure knows how to drink but that's not all she knows how to do. She also showed me a thing or two about getting it done in the ring and that leads me to our match at the Royal Rumble. How about we make our match a real can't miss? If I beat you at the Royal Rumble, you never go near my husband ever again. But if you beat me, you can have my husband's valet services for a whole year.
SAXTON: Is Belair actually putting her marriage on the line at the Royal Rumble?
JOE: What's she got to lose? Montez is more or less out the door already anyway. Might as-well make it official.
[Charlotte Flair stroked the side of Montez's face while Montez looked at his wife clearly upset with the stipulation]
FLAIR: Say goodbye to your beautiful husband Bianca. You're on! After the Royal Rumble, you'll have lost the two most important things in your life; the Women's Championship and your husband. Then again, you'll still have Seth. I'm sure he'll be single again by then. I heard there's another Shield member that the Boss is much, much, much more interested in.
Bianca Belair froze at Charlotte's comment and she swallowed nervously as the fans started to talk about Charlotte's comment. When Charlotte's music played Bianca breathed a deep sigh. If Charlotte knew the Truth about Sasha's baby, it wouldn't be long before Stephanie found out what happened to her hotel. She had to shut the Queen up for the sake of all the people involved, especially the Boss and Roman Reigns.
When Bianca got backstage Seth and Alexa were standing with their mouths open. They were freaked out by Charlotte's line too.
"Relax guys," Charlotte said closing Seth and Alexa's mouths, "the show's almost over, then you can both go home to whatever's left of your sad and pathetic lives,"
"Charlotte who gave you that line about Sasha being interested in another Shield member?" Alexa asked the Queen.
"Hey I just read the lines, I don't go into any details. Why, did I touch a nerve?" Charlotte said and Alexa and Seth exchanged glances with Bianca.
"Don't worry I got this," Bianca said and her hair alighted as she looked at Charlotte intently. As her hair started to glow, the Lord gave her the power to silence Charlotte and erase the secret about Sasha's baby from her mind. "Charlotte Flair, I command you to forget everything you heard about Roman and Sasha," Charlotte looked like she'd been hypnotised but after Bianca prayed she couldn't remember a thing she'd heard about Roman and Sasha. Bianca had successfully concealed the secret and removed it from the memory of the Queen.
"All is well Seth," Bianca said to Seth Rollins who hugged Bianca and gave her a kiss much to Bianca's displeasure. "See, this is why people talk about us. Quit kissing me in front of the Flairs!"
"And in front of me," Montez Ford said pretending to be jealous of Seth but he was cool with Bianca's mentor and he trusted his wife wholeheartedly. In fact, he couldn't wait until the show was over so he could take his wife home and show her just how much he'd learned from their "tour" of New York City.
Alexa took Seth by the arm and walked him back to DX's make shift office to check on the Boss.
"I'm going to miss New York City but there's no place like home," Charlotte Flair said to her father.
"Ain't that the Truth," Bianca Belair and after she was done checking on the Boss with Seth and Alexa, that was exactly where she intended to go with her husband steadfastly by her side.
