Now that Seth knows the whole Truth about Sasha and Roman, the Shield have a very difficult decision to make. With the New Year just around the corner, DX do everything they can to stop things from getting out of control.
Chapter Twenty Four – Jersey Girls
O'Hara's, Jersey City, New Jersey
Becky Lynch crouched over the bar at O'Hara's pub drinking tequila while the TV blared images of Bayley looking like a casualty of war. The whole wrestling world thought that she did it which is exactly what DX wanted. Becky hadn't banked on the Code Black being a wrestling angle, she just relished being able to beat the living crap out of Bayley for trying to frame Seth and break up his marriage to Sasha Banks. She couldn't stop her right hand from shaking, ever since she left the Hudson she'd been drinking and she had no intention of stopping. She didn't know why she was so rattled but it had something to do with what Bayley said about Seth. In her explanation for her actions Bayley declared her love for Seth as unending, even if it cost her the life God had given her.
Becky pulled her jacket sleeve over her hand to hide it so the bartender didn't cut her off because of her constant jittering. The Code Black had been more than she bargained for, she had no idea it would leave her so shaken up. It wasn't the first Code Black she'd carried out and it certainly wouldn't be the last. It was Bayley's words that was doing a real number on the Irish Lass Kicker. She tried contacting Seth but he was out of reach. She needed to hear it from him, now that she knew how Bayley felt, the Man needed to know if beating the crap out of Bayley was the right thing to do. Now the Man was thinking that maybe Bayley was just part of the problem, she needed to know just how involved Seth was in all of this crazy love story gone wrong.
"Okay that's enough," the bartender said taking the bottle of tequila away from the Man. "You've been here all day Becky. Its time you went home,"
"Give me back that bottle of tequila," Becky said in an inebriated voice.
"Time to go home," the bartender said as Becky reached for the bottle over the bar.
Charlotte and Ric Flair came into O'Hara's with the Street Profits and saw Becky getting into a fight with the bartender.
"Give me back the bottle or I'll smash it over your damn head!" Becky threatened the bartender and Charlotte sighed flicking her hair back coolly.
"I'll take care of this," she said and she strutted over to the bar and stood between Becky and the bartender who was about to call the police. "Fancy meeting you here Bex, I'd figure you wouldn't want to be anywhere near New Jersey now that you've made it Flair Country by getting me and my father banned from New York City,"
"I couldn't stay in New York so I came here, now that you've reminded me why you're here I better go. I've already kicked Bayley's a* I don't want to have to kick yours too," Becky said as Charlotte held her up. The Man could barely stand she was so drunk. When she turned and saw the Street Profits with Ric Flair she instantly wondered where Bianca Belair was. She pointed to Montez with a wobbly finger, "Does your wife know where you are right now?"
"She's in New York, she's on her way here to meet me with Alexa Bliss. They just came from New York Memorial hospital. Bayley's doing much better. They'll be here in a minute," Montez replied holding his nose at the smell of alcohol coming from the Man. "Why did you beat her up so bad Becky? Does she owe you money or something?"
"Who Bayley? She doesn't owe me anything, I just did what needed to be done," Becky replied and the Flairs and the Street Profits gave her some water to drink. "I'm sorry did you just say Bayley's doing better?"
"Yeah, my wife said she's as good as new," Montez said and Becky tried to stop things from spinning so she could hear what Montez was saying.
"I'm sorry Montez, I can't understand a word you're saying. Did you just say that Bayley is as good as new?" Becky asked Bianca's husband who was now chuckling at Becky's drunken stupor.
"Yes Becky, she's as good as new and more in love with Seth Rollins than ever before. I don't think the Architect is going to be happy about that part but I'm sure he's glad she's out of the hospital," Montez replied and Becky fell off of her chair in shock.
"Becky for Pete's sake get up off the floor, you're going to get us kicked out of here," Charlotte said picking Becky back off of the floor and putting her back on the chair.
Becky pushed Charlotte away from her and turned back to Montez Ford who appeared to be spinning.
"Did you just say Bayley's out of the hospital?" Becky Lynch said and Montez nodded while giggling at Becky's drunkenness.
"She's out of the hospital and she's on her way here with Bianca and Alexa," Montez said and Becky stared into space in complete disbelief.
"But I beat her unrecognisable. Her lungs were filled with blood and I destroyed her face. How can she be good as new?!" Becky said and Montez winced at the cold-hearted account Becky gave of what she did to Bayley.
"We know, we saw the pictures. The whole world knows what you did to her, this is by far the worst beatdown you've ever given Becky. I just hope your feud lives up to all the hype," Charlotte said and Becky tried to call Seth again.
"This wasn't an angle Charlotte this was legit," Becky replied waiting for Seth to answer his phone.
Charlotte frowned, "You beat Bayley unconscious on purpose?" she said surprised. "Why?"
Becky got Seth's voicemail and slammed her phone down angrily. She got to her feet trying to stand up straight. "Mind your own business," she said and she tried to walk out of O'Hara's but she clearly couldn't walk in a straight line. Montez went to help her, she was heading for her car.
"You know you can't drive drunk right?" Montez said to Becky as she tried to walk in a straight line.
"I know I'm just going to sit in my truck and wait for your wife to get here," Becky said. "I'm not sitting in a bar with Charlotte Flair and neither are you,"
Becky tried to open the truck but her cognitive skills were extremely low, so Montez took the liberty of opening the truck for her.
"There you go," he said politely as Becky got into her stolen truck. She opened the passenger's side of the car and gave Montez a stern glance.
"Get in," she told him and Montez sighed getting into the truck, "and don't move until Bianca gets here,"
"Okay," Montez said. "I'm not cheating on my wife, Charlotte and I are just hanging out,"
Becky bit her thumb nervously and Montez noticed that she her right hand was trembling. Seeing the concern on his face Becky quickly covered up her hand with her jacket and tried to look cool.
"What are you looking at?" she said defensively.
"Do you always get this drunk?" Montez asked her.
"No, I don't usually get this wasted. I just had a really weird night and I don't know what to make of it," Becky said.
"Are you talking about what you did to Bayley?" Montez said.
"No I'm not talking about that, Bayley totally had that coming to her," Becky said and she took a deep breath feeling uncomfortable and she shifted around in the driver's seat. "I'm sorry I don't do anxiety well, but after last night I think I might have made a huge mistake, I think I might have gotten myself mixed up in some of this God stuff that your wife is involved in,"
"Did God show up and rebuke you for beating up Bayley?" Montez joked but Becky wasn't laughing.
"I beat her beyond recognition and now she's fine. That's insane! When I left her at the Hudson, she was in an f'ing coma, now she's wide awake and as good as new. Something's not right here and I'm starting to wish Seth never asked me to..." Becky started to say but she covered her mouth realising she said too much. "Forget what I said, I'm just drunk I'm not making any sense right now,"
Montez furrowed his brow, "Wait, hold up – Seth asked you to beat Bayley up?" he asked.
"Just forget what I said I'm drunk," Becky said and Montez got irritated.
"Why would Seth ask you to beat up Bayley? He's supposed to be a man of God, plus he's mentoring my wife and he's a self-esteem coach at NXT!" Montez said horrified and Becky held her head in frustration.
"I told you to forget what I said. Why are you pointing fingers at Seth, you're the one having an emotional affair with Charlotte Flair," Becky said changing the subject.
"That's just an angle, its for TV. I don't have any feelings for Charlotte Flair. Becky tell me the Truth: did Seth tell you to beat up Bayley?" Montez Ford said and Becky looked and saw Bianca's red Thunderbird pulling up to O'Hara's and Alexa Bliss and Bayley were with her.
"Why don't you ask your wife? I'm done talking," Becky said.
"Oh I'll talk to my wife, she ain't gonna like what I have to say," Montez said and he blew on Becky's horn to get Bianca to head towards her stolen pick-up truck.
Alexa saw Austin's truck and Bayley's face tightened as she saw Becky holding her head down drunk.
"It's Becky, she with Montez," Bianca said and she turned to Bayley. "Thank God he's not with Charlotte,"
Bayley made a beeline for the driver's seat and she pulled Becky out of the truck by her neck and slammed her against the hood of the truck.
"Guess whose outta the hospital?!" Bayley said and she rammed Becky's head against the hood of the truck before Alexa and Bianca pulled her off.
Becky staggered at the sight of Bayley; she was completely healed from her bruises and her jaw was perfectly realigned. It was like she never touched her and for the first time, Becky Lynch was afraid.
"Why are you shaking?" Alexa asked Becky.
"I don't know, I feel like I've been tricked. This doesn't make any sense, the last time I saw Bayley she was almost dead. Now she's here trying to kick my a* without a hair out of place. What the Hell did I get myself into?" Becky said and Bianca looked at her husband who was very upset.
"I need to talk to you Bianca," he said to his wife firmly.
"Okay baby we just need to get Becky checked into a hotel and then I'm all yours," Bianca said holding Becky up by the waist while Alexa kept Bayley back.
Becky just stared at Bayley; it was like last night never even happened.
"Take her to a hotel right now," Alexa said to Bianca and Belair escorted Becky into the truck and drove her to the Westin on Washington Boulevard with Montez.
Alexa took Bayley inside O'Hara's hoping she would cool off so they could talk about what was going to happen when Sasha and Seth got back from their romantic prayer shawl ride around the world.
When they walked into the pub Charlotte gasped at the sight of Bayley along with her father and Angelo Dawkins.
"Bayley you look like a million bucks!" Charlotte said and she hugged the former Hugger. "I'm so glad Becky didn't beat you up as badly as it looked like she did in all those photos online,"
"She did Charlotte, I just heal up real well. Becky will pay for what she did to me. I don't even know why she did it, is this her sick and twisted way of getting back at me for taking the spotlight away from her?" Bayley said sitting down with Alexa.
"Judging from those photos, I'd say it was a Code Black," Charlotte said and Bayley went pale.
"A Code Black?" she echoed and Charlotte nodded.
"I think someone told Becky to do what she did, I think the storyline is just a cover for the hit," Charlotte said. "I think someone was trying to send you a message,"
"But who, who would order a Code Black on me?" Bayley said horrified and Alexa Bliss walked over to the bar and ordered some tequila.
It was going to be a long night trying to keep the Truth from Bayley about the man she loved and she needed something to take the pressure off. She wasn't as cool, calm and collected as Seth was but she didn't plan on getting completely wasted either. She wasn't Becky Lynch.
The Westin, Washington Boulevard
Bianca checked Becky into a luxury suite and put her to bed. The Man was clearly shook over Bayley's miraculous recovery and she wanted to talk to her about it, she just had to deal with her husband first who had been upset since she got to Jersey City.
"What's up honey?" Bianca asked her husband with a smile as she removed Becky's boots and tucked her into bed.
"Did Seth tell Becky to beat up Bayley?" Montez asked concerned and Becky Lynch groaned.
"Montez I told you I was drunk you shouldn't have been listening to a word I said. Plus it doesn't even matter why I did it, Bayley's fine now. Can you believe that?! Not a scratch on her!" Becky said from under the covers and Bianca tried to lull her to sleep with one of her songs.
"I just need to hear it from my wife, I know she wouldn't lie to her husband. So tell me Bianca, did Bayley get beaten up because that's what Seth wanted?" Montez asked and Bianca sung "Always on Time" by Ashanti and Ja Rule much to Becky's delight.
"I love this song! It sums up my feelings toward Finn Balor perfectly," she said and seconds later she was asleep.
Becky's hair was starting to grow back and she was starting to look like her old self again. A lot had changed in the wrestling world since she left the business late last year and she would have to get use to all the changes in a world that she was once so familiar with.
Bianca sat on the king size bed and looked at her husband about to tell him the Truth about Bayley and Seth, when a sharp finger jabbed her in the ribs causing her to cry out.
"Ow!" Bianca yelped and she looked down and saw Becky giving her a stern look with one eye.
"Don't say anything," she said and Bianca nodded. Becky was referring to the Code Black, Bianca couldn't tell her husband that Seth had ordered it as it was supposed to be anonymous.
"Why are you hesitating? Just tell me, did Seth tell Becky to beat up Bayley or not?" Montez said and Bianca played with her Braid struggling over what to do. She couldn't lie to her husband but she couldn't tell him the Truth either.
"Honey its really none of our business, let's just leave and go back to New York City and have some fun. Hunter's son Hayworth invited me over for dinner, why don't we join him and his new fiance? It'll be fun!" Bianca said changing the subject but Montez wasn't having any fun right now. He thought Bianca might be in danger and he wanted to know exactly what Seth's involvement in what happened to Bayley was.
"If Seth could do that to Bayley, a girl that used to be his best friend, what on God's green Earth could happen to you if you fail to please him like she did?" Montez said and Bianca laughed at her husband's hysteria. "I don't think this is funny, did you see those photos? Bayley was unrecognisable. I don't want that to be you!"
"Baby you're over-reacting, this has nothing to do with me. This is all about Bayley and Becky, I'm not on anyone's hit list unless you want to include Charlotte Flair. I know she's Hell bent on taking me out but that doesn't seem to bother you as much, I wonder why that is?" Bianca said and Montez rolled his eyes. "Don't you roll your eyes at me Ford!"
"It doesn't bother me because I know Charlotte's feelings are not real, she's not pretending to be something she's not. I can't say the same for your precious mentor, especially now you're both hanging out in Man Country. If you can chill with Becky Lynch, a notorious hot head, why can't I hang with Charlotte and Stephanie?" Montez argued.
"Because Charlotte and Stephanie are up to no good. Becky's nothing to be concerned about, she just likes to have a good time. She's been in prison Montez, she just wants to get back to normal," Bianca said.
"By beating the crap out of Bayley?!" Montez said perplexed.
"To Becky that's normal. Beating up the Four Horsewomen is what she does best. I guarantee you she'd be beating up Sasha right now if she wasn't carrying Roman Reigns' baby," Bianca said and Montez looked at his wife confused.
"You mean Seth's baby right?" Montez said and Bianca put her Braid in her mouth realising she just made a huge mistake. Seth's Treasurer had just told his biggest secret and her husband had the biggest mouth in the locker room, if anyone found out that Sasha was pregnant for Roman and not Seth, it would all get back to her and the DX family would be in serious trouble.
"Forget what I said, maybe Becky's drunkenness is contagious. I think I'll skip on dinner with HayMac and just cuddle up next to the Man for the rest of the night," Bianca said and she pulled the covers over her head as Montez called Angelo and told him that Sasha Banks was pregnant for a different member of the Shield. When Bianca woke up, the whole wrestling world was talking about it and Bayley's feud with the Man was quickly replaced by Sasha's adulterous relationship with Roman Reigns.
Becky looked at her phone and saw a missed call from Seth. He left her a message saying he was coming to New Jersey to see Bianca, "So now he calls me back," Becky said and Bianca chewed on her Braid nervously.
"I think I'm in trouble," Bianca said. She really didn't want to be in New Jersey when Seth arrived.
"If you're in trouble, the Man can get you out of trouble. Just come with me and everything will be just fine," Becky said patting Belair on the hand confidently.
"You're not going to do anything crazy are you?" Bianca said getting out of the bed and Becky gave her a cheeky grin.
"Its either a road trip with me or getting you're a* chewed out by your mentor, the choice is yours Belair," Becky replied.
"Road trip!" Belair replied and she left with the Man who took her away from all the drama that was about to explode in the wrestling world thanks to Montez Ford and his big fat mouth.
