Rebecca wanted to spend Chanukah with her friends and have the Chanukah ball, but her little brother Ari comes down with the flu
I don't own EoA. My Jewish family spells Chanukah this way and Bubbe this way.
Princess Rebecca entered her brother's room holding a tray.
"Ari? Feeling better?" She asked, a small groan and a cough came from the prince. Rebecca went over to the bed putting the tray on Ari's night stand.
"Ari, I brought you up Bubbe's matzo ball soup, I know it is not fun being sick on the Chanukah," she said putting a hand on her brother.
"Becca, I still feel sick," Ari said laying his head in his sister's lap.
"I know, eat some soup, matzo ball soup is call the Galonian cure for anything for a reason," Rebecca said giving her brother a smile. Ari sat up in bed and started to eat some soup.
"Is your stomach still hurting you?"
Ari stoked his head. Rebecca put hand on his forehead.
"My poor little brother, you still have a fever, but it feels like it has gone down. What hurts you?"
"My head and throat, my stomach is feeling better," Ari whispered starting to cough.
"That's good, hopefully you will feel better by the end of the holiday."
"Becca, can you tell me a story?"
"Ok, what story do you want me to tell you?" Rebecca asked.
"The story of Chanukah," Ari said handing the empty bowl to his sister.
"Ok," Rebecca said kissing her brother's forehead. She started to tell the story to her brother.
"Ari?" Rebecca asked her now sleeping brother.
"Layla tov," Rebecca said tucking her brother in and kissing his forehead. Before leaving his room she left his gift on his night stand. She left his room and ran into their father King David XI.
"Rebecca, how is Ari doing?"
"Aba, he still has a fever but not as high, hopefully he will be better before the last night," Rebecca told her father.
"I want him to get better, I know how much you two love Chanukah. I'm sorry we had to cancel the Chanukah ball this year, but we don't want Ari's flu to spread through the kingdom."
"I know how much you love tradition," King David added putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Aba, I love our traditions but Ari is more important than any tradition," Rebecca said.
"Rebecca, how did I get so lucky to have such a responsible and caring young woman as my daughter and heir," King David said hugging his daughter.
"Aba, you and Ima taught me everything I know," Rebecca said returning his hug.
"Your Bubbe made latkes, I went up to get you so we can all eat together," the King said.
Rebecca looked back at the door to her brother's room and smiled.
"Ok, Aba, we should save some for Ari when he wakes up."
"We will try but your Bubbe makes such
good latkes."
Rebecca laughed as her and her father went to the dining room.
