His heart was aching, and he wasnt quite sure why, he looked at the woman sitting next to him, her gaze was soft, her eyes were like emerald whirlpools, she was beautiful, far too beautiful to have to lie about a relationship, she deserved love and that was something he could not give, not after..

Flashback

Peter Colt the new upcoming star in the World of tennis was most certainly on a roll, he had already ranked 15th and therw was only a few more games left to play that he might make the top 10.

He was currently sitting in the hotel lobby, waiting for the key to his suite.

"Here you go Mr Colt, Room 112"

The receptionist handed him his keys, her cheeks blushing as she glided her fingers passed the palm of his hand.

He quirked at the touch and smirked before leaving and heading for his room.

He reached the room, went to place the key card but noticed that the room was already unlocked.

He entered, shouting for anyone that might be there, most likely room service.

The sound of the shower was going, he glanced over and noticed a very naked blonde woman using his shampoo, and washing in his shower, was this a surprise that Tony left him? He thought.

The woman looked to him and blushed, a smile spreading across her lips as she spoke

"Can I help you?"

Peter scoffed his reply

"Well it depends, is there a reason why your in my suite?"

She gasped, gestured for him to turn around- he did, and she stepped out, wrapping a towel and a bathrobe around herself as she spoke.

"This is room 112 isn't it?"

Vision chuckled.

"Yes it is, but I fear it is my room 112"

He gestured to the note on the table next to a bottle of champagne that said

Welcome to the Westview hotel Mr Colt.

She blushed, bowing her head, screaming apologies at him.

"Its fine, you are more than welcome to stay and dry, before heading out to fix your room"

She sighed in relief and agreed.

Over the course that she had stayed to dry herself, they got to talking, he found out that her name was Lizzie, she was an American and that this was her first year competing at Wimbledon.

She was terribly pretty, she would blush every now and then, causing Peter's smile to widen as he became more curious about her.

She offered to take him out for fish and chips as an apology for the intrusion that she had caused, he agreed and they hit it off.

They had dated for a while, Peter had ranked 11th and she was taking the female tennis World by storm as she had beaten Natasha Romanoff.

Peter had confessed his love for her and she reciprocated, everything was bliss.

Bliss didnt last long however, she was only climbing higher and higher up the rankings and Peter it appeared was falling, from 11 to 15 from 15 to 30, he was on a rollercoaster that was only steeping downward.

Their relationship was straining.

Lizzie would want to go out to the balls and galas that were being held, and Peter was becoming a shut in, ashamed of how his accomplishments withered to nothing and the unspoken jealousy of the woman that he had loved so earnestly.

They broke apart, she had met someone else, a manager of sorts and moved back to America.

Leaving him with nothing but his memories and regret.

His heart ached as he looked at Wanda, she was so much like him, so shut in but she deserved the World, she deserved a happily ever after.

He looked to her hand on his forearm, a rise appeared in his stomach from the touch.

he couldnt love he reminded himself,

but he can give her a bit of freedom.

"If you need freedom from your brother, then you are more than welcome to use me"

he smiled softly towards her.

She beamed, grabbing his shoulders and pulled him into an embrace as she said.

"Oh thank you! are you sure? If you want then I am more than happy to.." she took a moment to think but was stunned as she felt Visions arms wrap around her, he reciprocated the embrace and her heart warmed.

"I dont need anything, thank you."

she nodded, they stayed like that for a while, neither one wanting to pull away from the other.

Vision could feel Wanda's weight shift and the soft hum of her steady breathing indicated that she had fallen asleep, he left out a breathy chuckle as he laid her back against the sofa, wrapping her in a blanket.

She did indeed fit in the sofa a lot better than he did and to his relief she did look comfortable.

He took a second, gazing intently over the womans facial features, pushing the stray hairs out from her face, he smiled, she was breathtaking.

Dont fall in love.. he reminded himself again, before getting up and leaving for his room.

Wanda woke the next morning to the smell of bacon, she sat up and reached her arms up behind her head as she stretched the sleep away, she glanced over to the kitchen and smiled as she watched Vision cook.

"G'mornin"

The voice that came from the side of her startled her, causing her to let out a small squeak.

Tony started laughing as he watched the girl jump from the sofa and take a fighting stance.

Vision came in, hearing the commotion and chuckled as he spoke.

"Good morning miss Maximoff, I'm sorry but you will have to ignore Tony, he is an asshole"

Wanda blushed as she met Visions eyes, he was handsome all day every day it would appear as he was still wearing his grey top and blue checkered pyjama bottoms.

"I see we both are cursed with older brothers that like to joke" she laughed as she sat back down, glaring towards Tony for scaring her, he shrugged and went back to eating his breakfast.

Vision smiled kindly to her as he spoke.

"Would you like some breakfast? I will be leaving soon as I have an appointment, but you are welcome to stay for as long as you need"

Wanda gasped as it dawned on her that it was morning, and it was most likely late morning, meaning that her brother would be awake soon and he would need Wanda there.

She shot up.

"I need to get home"

she dashed to Visions room as she went to get herself dressed.

Vision and Tony watched as the young woman flew towards the door, slamming it behind her.

Tony smirked towards Vision as he spoke

"So.. I take it that last night went well?"

Vision groaned at his brothers words and sighed, holding his head in his hands as he thought about his feelings.

feelings.. huh? he mused to himself, he couldnt work out what his heart was doing, he had been adamant about not falling in love again, not wanting to face that pain again, he was wounded and he most certainly didnt feel ready to try and heal himself, to allow a bit of happiness but when he thought of Wanda, he couldnt deny the tug that appeared in his heart, it happened the second he saw her on the TV and the tug only evolved into a pull as he got to know her, got to understand her and wanted to help her, but more worrying for him was the faltering ache he felt when he thought of lying about a relationship, as if his heart was screaming dont lie! you don't need to lie.

These thoughts were something that he couldnt talk about, atleast not with Tony, his brother was probably the last person that could talk of romantic advice.

He took a bite of his bacon sandwich, pushing back his thoughts as he glanced down toward the newspaper on the coffee table.

Wanda stepped out of the room, still wearing Visions shirt from the night before, she was clinging to her dress in her hands, looking rather concerned to Vision.

Vision met her gaze and stood as he noted the concern in her eyes and instantly walked toward her as he spoke

"What's wrong?"

Wanda smiled shyly as she spoke, a small blush grazing her cheeks as she pushed a stray hair behind her ear.

"I was wondering if I um.. if I could.. borrow some clothes?" she quirked her head up at him, her eyes wide, almost like a puppy.

Visions heart jumped to his throat, the walls surrounding were beginning to crumble as he looked to the petite woman infront of him, she was beautiful, nothing like Lizzie, he seemed to muse to himself, the thought causing a bright blush to adorn his face as he cleared his throat.

"Yes ofcourse you can, but why would you need to.." he trailed off and glanced down to the red dress that she was carrying, his eyes widened as he realised why she would be asking, her scarlet dress wasnt really something that would be worn in the brink of morning.

He nodded and walked past her, beckoning for her to follow as he entered his bedroom.

Wanda watched as Vision traveled from cupboard to drawers to wardrobe, he seemed a bit frazzled as he tried to find something that would suit her, she smiled and strode over to him as he stood at the door or his wardrobe, his finger tracing his chin as he looked over his clothes.

"Thank you for this, Viszh.." she blushed and glanced down to the floor.

Vision, who had been lost in thought as he was looking over his small array of clothing was jolted out of his thoughts as he heard her. Her accent was thick as she spoke the small nickname and it sent a shiver down his spine, he rooted himself to the wardrobe right then, not daring to look at Wanda for fear that he might just do something that his heart had been aching for.

"Viszh?"

he asked, trying his best to sound casual, his voice failing him as it cracked slightly, almost becoming a whisper.

Wanda looked up to face him and smiled as she noticed him smiling to himself, he was still looking in the wardrobe, but that smile had somehow reached his eyes and her heart soared.

"I- I'm sorry, it just kind of slipped out.." her gaze fell again, she was now gnawing at her lower lip, the nerves had taken hold of her, her heart faltered and she took a step back.

Vision noticed the space between them growing and turned to look at her, he frowned as he noticed how nervous she appeared to be, it was almost fearful as though her body was bracing for an anxiety attack to take hold.

Instinctively he stepped forward, reaching out and wrapping his hand around her upper back, pulling her to him as he spoke, his voice was sure as he spoke, as though he wanted to ensure that she could hear him.

"I like it, thank you... the nickname of my nickname" he smiled and chuckled into her shoulder.

Wanda, shook from her own mind had blushed terribly as she felt his breath catching against her neck, her body still and her breathing held, she was rooted to the spot as she allowed Visions warmth radiate through her body, casting away the shadows of her anxiety.

They stood there for a minute before Vision pulled away, averting his gaze from hers, he drew his attention back to the wardrobe, clearing his throat and adjusting his posture.

"Are you feeling better?" he asked softly, almost caressing her mind.

She smiled as she sighed to herself, she was amazed for a moment that Vision had managed to pull her out of her own mind, which she would slip into almost daily, her anxiety was something terrible and was always something that Pietro would pick at.

"Yes, thanks to you.."

She blushed as she gazed up at him, her eyes were now full of hope and adoration for the man, the tennis player that she idolised and the person that he was.

He smiled softly toward her and handed her some clothing, a simple black t-shirt that was too small for him and grey joggers that she would need to tuck around to ensure they did not slip off.

"I can give you a ride back to the hotel if you'd like? it would at the very least save you some time"

She took the clothing from him, and found herself dazed by the sudden question.

"Ah well yes, it would definitely save me some time" she thought allowed and watched as Vision left, he too had a handful of clothes in his hand.

"I'll leave you to get dressed, I'll be in Tony's room if you need anything"

he shot her one last reassuring smile before leaving her alone in the room.

Wanda had gotten changed quite quickly, she realised as she stood in the room that it wasnt as big as she would have imagined, it was a decent enough size, enough room for the drawer set, a glass cabinet and a double bed, the room however did feel cold, the walls were rather bare and any ornamental items or personal effects seemed to have been held in the glass cabinet, Wanda walked over, noticing a framed photo of Vision and a blonde woman, she couldnt help the sting that surrounded her heart as she noted how happy he looked in the photo. She looked to the woman in the photograph, recognizing it to be Lizzie Bradbury, she felt the small surge of jealousy diminish as she realised that this woman was quite clearly no longer a part of Visions life and he must have held her quite dear judging on the happiness that he was exuding in the photograph.

She sighed and headed for the door, her phone was now buzzing with messages from Pietro.

Vision smiled to Wanda as she exited his room and said an eager

"Are you ready?"

she nodded and with that they left.

He dropped her off at the hotel, stating a simple

"If you need anything, then you have my number" to which Wanda nodded and he left.

Wanda watched as his car turned the corner and turned her attention toward the hotel, her anxiety was now suddenly back causing her to walk haggardly to the elevator.

Hello darkness my old friend.. she sang to herself.
