Chapter IV- Vitals

"Cas this is a really good time for you to get your feathery ass here and help us!" Dean thought at Cas, hoping and literally praying that the angel would hurry the hell up.

"Dean, duck!" Sam shouted as he swung above Dean's shoulder. The machete blade lodged itself in the vampire's neck as Dean ducked and rolled forward out of Sam's way. They had been duped, it had been a nest of vampires imitating a skin walker in order to lure in hunters into their hunting grounds. There was just so goddamn many of them and the boys had been completely unprepared. No deadman's blood on hand the only way to kill the blood sucking bastards was to chop them to bits. Now they were backed into a corner somewhere in the middle of the national park, in an exhibit house. It would be a cool little field trip if it wasn't for their imminent death by suckage. Dean sent out another prayer to Cas, "Cas we're surrounded here come on!"

As the vampires loomed closer, Cas appeared behind them. Cas pulled the angel blade out of his trench coat, and swiftly beheaded the first vampire within his reach. As Cas moved to the next vampire, Dean and Sam leaped into action.

Dean took the biggest most burly vampire, his neck hidden by stout muscle.

"Alright you big son of a bitch, make this easy on me will yah?"

The monster in front of him reached out and with ease lifted Dean and threw him into the wooden stairs feet away. Dean groaned as he scrambled back to his feet,

"God damn it. Fine be that way. Have fun in Purgatory."

Dean made his way up the stairs as the vampire reached him. Dean ran back down the stairs, using the momentum he built up he slammed the blade into the front of the monster's neck and pushed the both of them to the ground. As both bodies landed the vampires head and neck separated. Dean then surveyed the room to find Cas grappling with a vampire, before Dean could cross the room to help another smaller vampire appear behind Cas. The angel let out a strangled groan as the blade he was just stabbed with exited out of the front side of his body, what wasn't covered in dark crimson gleamed menacingly at Dean.

"Cas!" Dean flung himself at the smaller vampire behind Castiel as Sam crossed the room to tackle the remaining vampire the angel was formerly fighting off. Dean swung at the retreating body infringement of him, catching the back of its neck with his machete he leaped forward and recaptured the handle to pull back and swing back into the weeping flesh. Only to get half way into its neck, the vampire collapsed and began to gurgle. Dean fell with it and turned the dying vampire to face him,

"You son of a bitch!" The vampire only smiled weakly before Dean wrenched its head into a distorted angle with a sickening crack. Dean completely separated the head from the body before turning back to where his brother and friend was.

Dean kneeled beside Cas and Sam, the angel laid there bleeding and pale, "Cas?"

He leaned over his friend's face to peer down at him, he looked lifeless. "Sam what the hell do we do?"

Sam grimaced and put his fingers onto Castiel's pulse point. His brows furrowed and he pulled away his hand.

"Dean, he has a pulse but it's really weak. We need to stop the bleeding but that's all we can do. We can take him to the hospital."

Sam looked at Dean. Dean's eyes were misty as he lifted his friend, "Go get Baby, I'll meet you out there."

Cas laid in the back seat wrapped in bandages as Dean hammered on the gas, Cas's wound had already begun to heal so they decided that the hospital wasn't necessary. But something didn't feel right, Cas had always bounced right back from getting hit. Why not this time? Dean knew that his friend's power wasn't the same since he had briefly become God but he knew that it shouldn't take this long. He looked back at the darker headed man lying in the backseat. That same feeling, the same misty eyes, just like the goddamn dream. Dean blinked away tears as he focused back on the road. He had one god damn goal right now and that was getting his angel home and making sure he woke up.

(Sorry for such an unpolished and frankly poorly written chapter! I wanted to get something out to you guys but I was experiencing a lot of writer's block! Anyway thank you for reading! Enjoy!)
