"But where's Santa?" asked his patient, six year-old Michael. "He's coming, isn't he?"

"Yeah... Yeah don't worry, he's coming," Alex confirmed. Mentally he slapped himself for forgetting his costume this morning. He'd gotten pulled into an emergency surgery and it slipped his mind. Now his plan to surprise the kids tonight was ruined. He was stuck here waiting on tests for a critical patient. And Jo hadn't responded to any of his texts.

He rubbed his forehead and sighed. Where could he find a Santa suit at 6pm on Christmas eve?

He stabbed the elevator button. He needed a coffee, a pick me up. Jo. He needed Jo. The door opened and he stepped in. Leaning against the wall, he glanced up.

Stupid mistletoe.

The elevator stopped. The door opened.

"No way."

"Ho ho ho... Merry Christmas."

"Jo?!"

"You... ah looking for me?"

"I'm ah..." He stammered. How? What? When?

"Got any cookies and milk?" Jo asked, wrinkling her nose so that the long furry beard wiggled.

Alex stared into her brilliant amber eyes... How did she do this? Know him so well?

"Well? What do you think?"

He wrapped his arms around her waist, his fingers sinking into the soft velvet of the Santa suit. "It's a little... big on you," he admitted.

"Oh?" She asked, leaning into him. Her fake stomach surprised him. He was used to her being closer.

"Jo... You just..." He shook his head. How was it possible she was with him? Despite all the crap he pulled, she wanted him. She wanted to be with him. Live with him. Have his kids... How was it possible?

Was he really that guy? Could he have that life?

Somehow, looking into Jo's eyes...

His doubts vanished. It didn't matter. She loved him. He loved her. Suddenly her lips pressed against his.

"Ow!"

"Sorry, did I scratch you?" Jo asked. Her eyes twinkled. "Now you know how a girl feels."

"Really?" He smirked. "I didn't know." He slipped his hand under tbe long fuzzy beard she was wearing and pulled it off. "This is much better," he said gazing at her soft face.

"I missed you," Jo said.

"I missed you too," he replied. She had no idea how much she'd saved him... "You know, I never believed in Santa," he told her.

"Really?" She asked.

"Yeah."

"I think Santa deserves another chance," she said. She wrapped her arms tighter around his neck."

"Yeah?" He felt her breath on his lips. His heart pounded just a little faster. "Look up," he said.

Jo looked up. Her brow wrinkled as she squinted at the plant above her. "What... Is that?"

"Mistletoe." Alex replied.

"What?"

"Let me show you," he reached, cupping her cheeks and pulling her to him. He kissed her, pushing along the lines of her mouth, reaching deep inside.

Determined not to be undone, Jo dueled back, her tongue sliding along his and along the roof of his mouth, tantalizing every nerve, striking the match of the chemical conflagration in his brain.

God... It felt so good.

"Believe in Santa now?" Jo panted when she came up for air.

"Know what a mistletoe is for? He asked, pecking her nose.

"I umm...Can you remind me again?"

Alex rested his thumb on her cheek. "I'm still not sure I believe in Santa yet."

"But he's right in front of you," Jo pouted.

"Is he?"

"I think... You'll have to find out for yourself" Jo's lips grazed his.

"Mm," he relaxed against her. "Can't wait."
