Abby's House
Few Days Later…

It's been a few days since Bonnie's mother went through transition and became a vampire. She recently finished made a daylight ring that morning and her mother just walked out and stood in her garden ever since. Bonnie step outside through the door to the porch and saw Abby standing by the dried birdbath in her lifeless garden. Her heart squeezes with empathy that her mother looked so forlorn and heartbroken.

The petite witch crossed her arms with a worried sigh while watching her mother staring blankly in her own world. She leaned against the pillar as she slowly recalled the visit, she had from her Grams and her ancestor, Ayana. Bonnie hasn't informed Abby about it because she doesn't think her mother can handle it. Bonnie doesn't want to cause her more pain.

Bonnie has been thinking for the past few days about processing the information and the memories she went through. She easily recalled how the tragedy happened in her life. The very first tragedy would be that her Grams' death all because she overused her magic. Just so the older Salvatore could get his so-called love, Katherine out of the cursed temple. The petite witch was surprised that her grandmother worked together with her when it was obvious how much Grams loathed vampires. When Damon discovered that vampire-doppelgänger wasn't inside the tomb, it was all for nothing. Instead, Mystic Falls was in danger by over twenty starving vampires who were hiding and killing innocents.

And her Grams was dead. Because of the Salvatore. Bonnie thought she was doing good, that she was helping them because Elena was with Stefan. And Damon was Stefan's brother. But in the end, she lost her Grams.

Another tragedy hit her when she thought she lost her best friend, Caroline because she became a vampire. Bonnie feels so guilty how she treated Caroline in most awful harsh bitchy ways in more than one. The petite witch wishes she could take back all the nasty mean things she said and act to her blonde-haired best friend. Bonnie knew she has a long way to make it up to Caroline whether the perky vampire already forgives her or not. She makes sure to spend her free time with Caroline as much as possible for the past few days. Bonnie truly misses her best friend and was pleasantly surprised when she learned Caroline is the same as a human yet became more confident and more happy. At least Bonnie didn't lose her best friend, even though Caroline was murdered by Katherine.

However, Bonnie did learn a few things about Caroline's past.

The petite witch was not happy with Damon Salvatore who dared abused Caroline during her human time. It made her sick to the stomach and she was disgusted how Elena knew but still allow that filthy Salvatore to go near her. Let alone, have feelings for Caroline's abuser. And Bonnie still can't believe that Elena asked Damon to gave Caroline his blood.

His blood. Caroline was wearing her abuser's blood after she became a vampire.

Bonnie closed her eyes and shuddered with a mixture of disgust, discomfort, and anger. She can't believe Elena did this to Caroline. The more she thought about Elena, the more she realizes that Elena's life and her situation in the supernatural community. Bonnie knew that being doppelgänger attracted many different supernaturals like a beacon because she carries rare powerful blood running through her veins. The petite witch silently wondered when did Elena starting to become Katherine? Caroline did oh-so gracefully explained to her about the Mikaelson's Ball and how Elena arrived with two Salvatore brothers in arms.

The petite witch opens her eyes half-way as her lips pressed together with weariness and frustration. She wishes she attend that ball when she got the invitation. Because then, she would know what the hell is going on in that ball and maybe even learn more about that spell from Esther. However, she rejected it and stay at home with Abby. But that was too late, and because of her, and her stupid naïve mind…

Bonnie trusted the Salvatore brothers that causes her nearly lost her mother. Her olive-green eyes shifted over to her mother. 'I might as well lost her already.' She mused, bitterly. Bonnie did everything she could with the best of her ability to save Elena.

But it seems that whenever she saves Elena…

She ended up getting grief and tragedy instead.

"Hey!" Bonnie snapped out of her heavy mused and turned her head over where Caroline arrived with a blue ice-chest box in hands. "I totally lucked out. The hospital just had a blood drive, so I got some O-negatives, some A's, and my personal favorite—" the perky blonde-haired vampire set the ice-chest down on the bench, open the lid, and took out one of the blood bags. Caroline turned around with a bright smile as she held up the blood bag. "B positive."

Bonnie just half-smile with amused by her best friend's optimistic attitude. She is grateful that Caroline stays and helps in anyway she could. "Thank you, Care." She appreciates it. Bonnie would be lost and confuse without her perky best friend.

Caroline's blue-green eyes shifted over and saw Abby with confused. "Is Abby okay?"

Bonnie turned her gaze over to her mother and sighed softly. "No. I made her a daylight ring this morning. But ever since she got it, she's been standing out there all morning. She is not taking this very well." She answered, worried.

"Well, it's only been a few days since she turned." Caroline set the blood bag back inside the ice-chest and smiles at the petite witch. "Your mom is still adjusting." She attempts to comfort her.

Bonnie sighed, shoving herself away from the pillar and they both sauntered from the porch to the garden area.

When they are near Abby who stared blankly at the birdbath. "Ms. Wilson." Caroline called out politely and warily. "Why don't you come inside? Have something to drink?"

Bonnie's heart sank when she saw how terrified and broken Abby looks when she turned her head to them. "I can't feel it anymore. My harden, it's gone." Abby mumbled sadly. "I can't feel anything…" she trailed off then slowly left the forever-seventeen vampire and tiny witch behind her house.

"I don't understand." The blonde-haired beauty turned her attention to Bonnie with a puzzled frown.

The petite witch sighed as she walked around in the dead garden that used to be so lively and healthy. "Witches have a connection to the Earth. We can literally feel nature." Bonnie stopped by one of the garden beds, bend down, and carefully cups her hands on both sides of a dead plant. She closed her eyes and mumbling under her breathe, recites a spell.

Suddenly, the plant starts to bloom into a beautiful flower. Caroline's eyes widen with amazed and gasped delightfully to witness such amazing magic. Caroline has seen Bonnie's magic many times but never seen such a beautiful spell to bring the dead flower back to life. Bonnie opens her eyes and beam happily that she succeeds it. "When Abby became a vampire, she lost it…" her smile dropped and turned her gaze to her best friend. "I don't know how to help her."

Bonnie wants to help her mother, but she can't imagine how Abby feels when she is no longer a witch and her magic is completely gone. She briefly recalled how devastatingly and heartbroken the Originals were, especially Kol.

Once again, the petite witch thought more about it.

Liaison with the Originals

Chapter Two

"Contemplation"

Later…

Bonnie is currently sitting on the bench outside of the house, on the porch while stared off at the distance in her own world. Her mind was in chaos that she attempt to reorganized it and process it all in order. There are so much that has happened in her life for the past year and few months. So much in her short period of time and she is so tired. Bonnie wants to stop thinking and sleep for years. She briefly entertained as she wondered if there's a spell to put herself in coma.

"Hey Bonnie…" the petite witch blinked and turned her gaze to Caroline who steps toward her with a concerned smile. Caroline sat down next to her and tilted her head thoughtfully. "You've been on your own world lately… are you still worried about Abby?" she asked, curious.

The petite witch hummed. "…yeah."

"There's more." Caroline stated with a raised eyebrow.

Bonnie nodded her head as she leaned back heavily. "I've been… I thought about what happened to all of us ever since that first back to school day—the first day as Junior Year." Caroline released exhaled with understanding.

"When the supernatural arrives in Mystic Falls." The blonde-haired vampire turned her body half-way so she could face her tiny best friend. "A lot really happened in a year and few months."

The petite witch nodded her head. "No kidding… I've just… been thinking about it. All the events, the losses, the tragedies, the dramas, the Originals and the whole doppelgänger thing."

Caroline groaned dramatically. "I wish there was like—instruction manual or something that could warn us for befriending the doppelgänger." She grumbled.

Bonnie's lip twitches as her olive-green eyes lit up slightly mirth. "Actually, there are few of that in some grimoire." Caroline snapped her head at Bonnie with bewildered and astonished.

"Seriously?!" Bonnie nodded her head with amusement while Caroline groaned loudly and threw her hands in the air. "Of course there is one! This is Elena, the doppelgänger, we are talking about." She dropped her hands on her lap and leaned her side against the back cushion.

The petite witch carefully observed her best friend quietly as she distantly recalled how jealous and envious Caroline used to be before the supernatural drama. "…Care." The perky vampire shifted her blue-green eyes to her with curious. "Do you remember when we were at the Grill, that night when Matt's sister was attacked?" Caroline narrowed her eyes but nodded her head. "Remembered how you told me—drunk might I add—that you… you can't be the one because all the guys you liked, like Elena instead. You remember that conversation?"

"Oh, wow… umm… sort of." Caroline barely recalled it since it's been long ago.

Bonnie bit her inner cheek, attempt to collect words in her head carefully. "…I think… is that maybe you are meant to be with someone who is more fitting for you. Not someone we knew and grew up with. But maybe… someone who can cherish you, and treasures you for who you are." She attempted to comfort her best friend awkwardly. She didn't try to help her before because Bonnie doesn't want to deal with Caroline's Drama. However, she silently vowed that she will try and make it up to Caroline.

The blonde-haired beauty stared at Bonnie with surprised then a shy smile appeared on her face. "You really think so?"

"Yes. I believe so." Bonnie assured Caroline with serious face. "I—I don't know who or when, but I do know that someday, you will get yourself a better man in your life."

Caroline hummed. "Could that better man be Tyler Lockwood?" she said, hopefully.

"…it's a possibility." Bonnie decided to be honest. She doesn't dislike Tyler Lockwood, but she isn't comfortable the thought of having her vampire best friend dating a werewolf even though he is a hybrid.

The blonde-haired vampire just nodded her head and then smiles playfully at Bonnie. "And what about Jeremy?" she sang in a light-hearted mood.

Bonnie froze. She doesn't know what to do with that. Bonnie is dating Jeremy. She thinks. "I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?" Caroline straighten up with confused. "What's wrong?"

The petite witch sighed heavily. "I mean I don't know. I care about him, truly. But… I still can't get over the whole girlfriend ghost situation." She cringes. "I'm not trying to be bitter or act like a jealous bitch. But I won't lie and said I move on. I just—" Bonnie is frustrated that she can't explain herself more clearly to Caroline.

The blonde-haired vampire furrowed her eyebrows when she noticed how exhausted and struggles her best friend currently is now. "Bonnie…" she grabbed the witch's hands and stared at tired olive-green orbs. "…what's wrong? Ever since I've told you about my situations—with everything that happened to me—you've been… so distant and in your own world for a few days… please, tell me. I don't know how I can help you if you don't tell me what's wrong."

Bonnie stared silently at her best friend who is pleading her, who genuinely wants to help her. Bonnie can't help but feel gratitude, guilty, and completely fatigued. "I feel like I've been wronged." That felt so good to let it out.

Caroline blinked, taken aback by Bonnie's blunted answer. "Wronged? What do you mean?"

Before the petite witch knew, she blathered out through her mouth and couldn't find herself to stop. "When I discovered my magic and tried to figure out where I belonged in the supernatural community. I had trouble controlling it and Grams had been trying to help me, to guide me through as a witch. She taught me few things until—until she passed away." Bonnie closed her eyes and Caroline offered comfort to Bonnie by squeezing her hands. "I had no one to teach me, no mentor and no way to control my magic. I had to get away for a while. And when I came back—I… I feel like… I was bullied and pushed around by vampires… they could just ask me instead of—" Caroline bit her lip quietly. "—instead they want me to help Elena. Don't get me wrong. I don't regret helping Elena." She opens her eyes. "Elena is our best friend, of course I would do anything to protect her. I even nearly die for her. I fought against Klaus. I absorbed a hundred dead witches and knew that I was going to die. I was prepared for it." Her olive-green eyes started to teary. "When… when I saw Grams again… when the whole ghosts happened… I—I was so happy to see her. But… I was so naïve and haughty."

Caroline carefully processing all the words from her best friend's mouth as Bonnie continued. "I did everything I could have done to save Elena. I tried everything I can with the best ability I have. With my magic. And yet… every time I helped Elena… I ended up losing more." Bonnie whispered the last part sadly.

After a moment of silence, the perky vampire opened her mouth. "Bonnie… please don't take this the wrong way…" Bonnie's gaze shifted up to Caroline's eyes. "…it's a good thing that you truly care about people. You care about Elena. You care about Jeremy—I mean, he died, and you brought him back alive— and you even saved me. I know you would do anything to protect your family and friends. I admired that. But I have to be honest with you… you… you don't have an ounce of self-preservation." Caroline blunted.

Bonnie blinked at her in surprised. "E-excuse me?"

"I love you Bonnie, I really do. But you seriously need to start thinking about yourself a little bit more than just everyone around you." Caroline said softly. However, she could see Bonnie's displeased by that comment so Caroline elaborate. "It's not a bad thing to care about people. But Bonnie… if you continue acting like this—being all so completely lack of self-worth, then it's not worth it!" the petite witch stared at Caroline in shocked. "You are worth it being alive, Bonnie. Instead of doing the whole dying or always sacrificing yourself—please be the witch who will find a way."

"...w-what are you saying?" Bonnie whispered, bewildered, curious and slightly nervous.

Caroline huffed and stared at her best friend with firm determined. "Whenever there are no choices, then make a new choice! Whenever there is something to sacrifice, then find alternative solution! Whenever there is a problem that can't be solve, then look outside the box to solve it! There are always, always a way out. Even a simple answer that solve the entire problem. No one thinks about it, they just jump into the fire and ended up getting deadly burn instead." Bonnie's eyes were widen in stunned. "Bonnie."

"…yeah?" Bonnie was still baffled and slightly hope.

The blonde-haired beauty raises her eyebrow at Bonnie. "Are you a witch?"

The petite witch blinked. "Yes." She answered, confused.

"Then start think like a witch instead of thinking like a human being." Caroline blunted with steel voice. Bonnie hummed with questioning and interested. "Ever since I became a vampire, I've been too busy thinking like a human which was why I've been having problem with being a vampire for a while. So, I had to start thinking like a vampire with human side attached. It took some time, but I've managed it through." Caroline explained with a soft smile as she squeezes Bonnie's hands once again. "We are totally different species but… I think we are sort of similar. You've been thinking as a human with magic. I think you should start thinking as a witch who can do many wonderous magic mumbo jumbo with human qualities."

Bonnie process the words carefully in her mind. She thought about all the experiences she went through almost two years in Mystic Falls. She has been bullied, used, pushed, manipulated, sacrificed, and belittle by vampires, witches, ghosts, and even Originals. She has been acting like human being entire time when she learned she has magic.

Maybe Caroline was right.

Maybe Bonnie looked at this whole thing wrong in her life.

Bonnie Bennett shouldn't look at this supernatural community as a human.

She needs to start act like a witch, think like a witch, be the witch. Slowly, her olive-green eyes lit up which made Caroline beams at her. "Care…"

"Yeah…?"

Bonnie allows a smile appeared on her face. "…you are right."

Caroline grinned widely. "Of course I'm right! You should start listen to me more often." She playfully said and Bonnie chuckled with disbelieved.

To think that it took Caroline Forbes, the girl who used to be so insensitive, controlling, bossy, and childish due to jealously and envious. Has now transformed to mature, smart, caring, and confident. True that Caroline is a bit controlling and bossy. There are times she could be jealous and envy but she handle it maturely and Bonnie failed to see that a long time ago.

But now, Bonnie knows. She knows now that Caroline Forbes is one of the best people, she is proud to have in her life. Her best friend. Although deep down… Bonnie wishes she opens up to Caroline in the beginning, to tell her that she's a witch and show her the magic. Instead of showing Elena.

"I'm so lucky to have you as my best friend." Bonnie mused out loud, sincerely.

Caroline smiles widely as her blue-green eyes sparkles happily. "Aw Bon-Bon!" she hugs her best friend who chuckled merrily as she hugged back.

Then the phone ring breaks the bonding moment. Caroline breaks the hug and fumbles her phone out of her pocket. Bonnie leaned back as the heavy weight on her shoulders somehow lifted and her mind is clear. She can finally start thinking more clearly. Although she is a bit tired, since her emotions has been going roller coaster for the past few days.

Bonnie noticed Caroline's frowning at the phone and answered. "Hey, what's going on?" Caroline's gaze shifted over to the petite witch and mouthing a word. 'Elena'. Bonnie frowned while watching her best friend quietly. "…sorry, she's still mad and seriously… Abby's transition has been a little rough, so she's got a lot on her mind." Bonnie snorted silently. She does have a lot on her mind. "Wait what? What happened to Ric?"

It took a moment for Caroline to finish her call with Elena and she hang up. Slowly the perky vampire turned her head to Bonnie with an awkward sheepishly smile. "…Elena needs your help."

Bonnie sighed loudly and crossed her arms with a raised eyebrow. "What is it this time?" now that she understands and had epiphanies through her experiences.

"Apparently, the Gilbert ring did something to Ric and causes a lot of problem." Caroline blunted and start explain in details to Bonnie.

The petite witch furrowed her eyebrows with contemplative. "…that's awful." She doesn't want a good man like Alaric to end up in worse situation. "I need to look in my grimoire and maybe ask Abby about it."

"You doing it?" Caroline asked with curious as she watched Bonnie pushed herself up from the bench and turned to Caroline.

Bonnie hummed. "…of course. This is Alaric, our history teacher and plus…" a small smile appeared on her face as her olive-green sparkles. "I need to practice myself to start to act like a witch, think like a witch…"

"Be a witch." Caroline finished it with a proud smile. "Alright… you go do that and I will talk to a certain guy that Abby has been asking for." She stood up and narrowed her eyes at certain man who is chopping woods in the distance.

The petite witch nod her head. "You do that." She turned around and walk to the door but halted. "Care." Caroline turned her head to her with questioning. "Thank you." She beamed at Bonnie and left to do her mission.

Bonnie step inside the house and search for Abby who is sitting on the couch while staring at the wall across from her blankly.

"Abby…" Bonnie waited for her mother to react but instead blank. So, Bonnie sighed heavily with resigned and decided to look into her grimoire. She doesn't think her mother is in the right mind to help so might as well start do it on her own.

After all, she is a witch.

.

.

.

Later…

Bonnie carefully read one of the grimoire books that belonged to Emily Bennett. She has been reading through the spell books for hours in the guest bedroom as she is sitting on her bed. Bonnie paused when she found a page of the supernatural rings and spotted one. "Resurrect rings… it can bring back human to life who were killed by the supernatural beings. However, the ring cannot bring the wearer back to life if their death is natural. The resurrection time requires a varies from minutes to hours because of each time a person dies." It's a small diary that didn't have any info of how the ring was created nor how to destroy it. Instead it was made and explain what type of ring. Bonnie frowned with disappointed as she wishes she could find more information about it.

However, at the same time, she could understand why her ancestor doesn't want anyone to know the real spell behind the resurrect rings. Bonnie lightly taps her finger against the page with thought.

"Start think like a witch instead of thinking like a human being."

Caroline's voice reminded in her head. Bonnie closed her eyes and took a breather. 'The resurrect rings brings human back to life as long as it was killed by supernatural beings. They died at natural causes that won't bring them back. So… where did they go, exactly? Humans died for minutes to hours… I wonder…' she frowned, thinking deeply. 'The ring was made and spelled by a witch. Bennett witch… that means, could a human go to Other Side?' Bonnie opened her eyes with realization as new possibilities appeared in her mind. If humans died by supernatural causes and have been in the Other Side for a moment, it's possibly why Alaric has been affected by something dark. Maybe from the Other Side, the spirits did something to Alaric.

After all, Other Side is a purgatory for dead supernatural. 'And Alaric is not supernatural. He's a human so I wouldn't be surprise if something happened to him on the Other Side. But there is one flaw… he didn't say anything about being in the Other Side.' Bonnie mused, bit her lip as her olive-green shines with contemplative. 'Maybe being human on the Other Side made him forgot when he returns to the living?' it's a theory for Bonnie as she grabbed the notepad and pen from the nightstand to write it down.

Bonnie paused, maybe she should get her own grimoire book. True that she has many books from witches, but she never has her own grimoire. She is a witch, and she feels like she deserves to have one. Bonnie mentally filed it later and continue writing down on the notepad. "The recurrent rings have its own charm but there's got to be negative side-effect…" Bonnie mumbled, and start jolted down the notepad. No matter what, all spells have their own side-effects. She did learn it the hard way.

Then suddenly a frightened shouted heard and Bonnie jumped out of the bed and ran to where the noise came from.

Bonnie almost fell forward when she forced herself to halt by the doorway when her eyes widen in shock. Abby's fangs dig in Jamie's neck. "Abby!" Bonnie instantly used her migraine-inducing spell on her mother who flinched back hard and dropped her knees while clutches her head in pain. Jamie stumbled back and fell on his backside while holding his wound in horror.

The petite witch released the spell and quickly rushes over to Jamie, kneels down, and check over the wound while Abby stared at Jamie in terrified and ashamed. Bonnie glanced up when she saw Caroline arrived with perplexed, confused, and worried.

Bonnie really need to get Abby on blood bag as soon as possible.

.

.

.

After a moment, Bonnie walks up to her mother who is pacing around outside of the barn with anxious and fear. The petite witch paused and held up a blood bag. "You have to drink these, it'll help." She refuses to allow Abby to avoid it any longer. It's time for Abby to stop being little brat and start act like mature adult.

"I almost killed him!" Abby snapped in fear as she stopped and whirled around to her daughter.

Bonnie huffed. "Caroline said that this kind of thing happens a lot at first when you're still new." She doesn't know what it is like to be a vampire, but she knew that she could trust Caroline with this. Bonnie extends the blood bag to Abby with a serious face.

"No, no!" the newborn vampire shakes her head. "I should just go before I hurt Jamie again or you!"

Bonnie's eyes harden. "The only way you're gonna hurt me is if you leave." She stated as a fact. "Don't give up on this. Not again. We can make this work." If she can start to learn to forgive the Originals, best friend with a vampire and deal with vampires every day. Bonnie doesn't want to lose her mother. So what if she's a vampire? Bonnie is a witch. They both are supernatural beings and plus, Abby is her mother.

Abby stared at Bonnie quietly then reached the blood bag, not unkindly takes it, and nod her head with hesitation. Bonnie half-smile at her mother with reluctant hope.

"He's fine." Bonnie and Abby turned their attentions to Caroline who ambled toward them with a warm comfort smile. "Nothing a little vampire blood can't cure."

The Bennett vampire sighed in relief and smiles softly. "Thank you."

Caroline nodded her head then turned her gaze to Bonnie. "Elena called again. She was wondering if you found the solution yet?"

Bonnie turned her head to her mother. "Hey… I need your help." Abby raise her eyebrow with curious. "It's about the resurrect rings that causes some serious negative side effects to Alaric." Bonnie explained to her mother for a few minutes.

Abby furrowed her eyebrows with thoughtful face. "…I don't know anything much about the resurrect rings. But from what he was experiencing… I think you can do a reverse the damage spell. I know the ingredients for the spell. But one of the ingredients need a personal effect of this man." The older Bennett explained quietly as her dark eyes slightly dimmed. She can't do magic anymore and the thought of having all the knowledge with spells is useless to her.

"Thank you." Bonnie is grateful. "What is this spell?" she needs to start taking serious learning as a witch because she will need to remember all the spells. Bonnie can't always rely on other witches forever, so she will try her best to learn as much as she could from an experienced witch.

The older Bennett cleared her throat. "I'll show you as I explain." Caroline followed them quietly when they reached the garden. "This spell doesn't have a name, but I called it Darkness Reversal Herbs, this spell was commonly used amongst witches who got too obsessed with Dark Magic." Abby went to one of the garden beds and observed the dead herbs.

Bonnie and Caroline listen carefully as Abby continue. "Because using Dark magic can result in witches to acting out from their darkest impulses due to a loss of self-control." She tore the dead herbs out and walked to Bonnie. "I need you to bring this herb back alive. It needs to be fresh because this herb is required to drink twice daily in order to work."

"Okay." Bonnie recited the Latin under her breath and soon the herbs came back alive in her hands. Abby stared at the herbs longing then smiles sadly at her daughter. "So… what else do I need to do?"

.

.

.

Bonnie wrote down the information she learned in her notepad and start preparing to leave since she has to deliver the herbs to Elena. She double-checks her purse to make sure she has everything she needs while Abby puts the herbs in the glass jar with a lid quietly. Meanwhile Caroline is talking to Elena by the doorway between the kitchen and the living room.

"—Abby thinks Bonnie can reverse the damage of the spell. I guess this same thing happens to witches who get obsessed with dark magic. They lose control and start acting out their darkest impulses." Caroline explained, calmly. Then she leaned against the doorway with the noise back of her throat. "I'm gonna hang back here with Abby, but Bonnie's leaving now, so—" she paused when she saw Bonnie silently gesture at the phone, asking to talk to Elena on the phone. "Hold on." Caroline handed the phone over with a gentle supportive smile.

Bonnie smiles back at her then watch Caroline walked to her mother to help her. Bonnie turned around and took a breather as she slowly lifted the phone to her ear. "I need a personal effect of Alaric's, something he wore before he started wearing the ring." She decided to be serious and straight to the point in business. She cares about Alaric and she is not doing this for Elena.

"Okay, yeah. I-I'll get it." Bonnie could hear shocked voice from Elena's tone. "Bonnie, I'm so sorry for everything, thank you for doing this."

The petite witch frowned. "Be ready to do the spell as soon as I get there. We have to work fast. I'll see you soon." She hangs up and sighed. Bonnie doesn't want to deal with the apology or personal drama with Elena right at this moment. Right now, she wants to focus on Alaric.

Gilbert Residence
Morning…

Bonnie sauntered into the kitchen after she finished helped Alaric. She paused when she saw Elena at the sink, doing dishes. The petite witch tapping the jar of herbs lightly with thoughtful. She has been thinking about her situation with Elena ever since she drove from Abby to Gilbert's household. The petite witch knew that she would be a hypocrite if she doesn't forgive Elena. After all, she is going to forgive the Originals… which she still has some struggles with it. "Hey."

Elena paused, turned around and looked surprise to see her. Bonnie step forward and placed a glass jar of dry herbs on the island. "Abby says that all dying and coming back to life might have chipped away at Alaric's psyche, making it easier for the darkness to take hold." 'Although, something tells me there's more into it. I still think that the Other Side might do something to him.' She mentally added to herself, not want to tell anyone of her theories until it proved to be true or not. "These herbs are the binding element of the spell. He needs to take them twice a day." Bonnie instructed Elena with serious face.

The human doppelgänger sauntered to the island and picks up the glass container to examined. The petite witch cleared her throat. "I'll get you more. Abby and I are gonna work on the garden." Bonnie couldn't help but smiles at the thought that she will get to experience having a mother-daughter moment.

"How is she doing?" Elena asked, concerned.

Bonnie leaned against the island with a soft sigh. "The transition's been hard, but I think she'll be okay. Eventually. I'm gonna go back and stay with her for a while. It'll give us a chance to work things through." The petite witch explained, civilly. Then she watches the brunette set the glass of container down on the island while her eyes tearing up.

"I'm sorry, Bonnie, I—I didn't—I didn't want this to happen." Elena sniffed, guilty and upset. "If there was anything that I could do to make it different, I—"

Bonnie couldn't help but embraces her friend. "I know." She decided this time, she will forgive Elena. After all, the brunette didn't know and it was her fault. However, that doesn't mean Bonnie will forgive the Salvatore anytime soon.

"Please say that you forgive me." Elena whimpered, hopeful, and anxious.

Bonnie closed her eyes. "Of course I do."

Bonnie

I cannot do this any longer. I don't know how to handle being a vampire. It is not because I lost control, or that I could have killed you or Jamie or innocent people. It's because I can't handle this hollow inside of me. It's very hard for me. Being a witch was a big part of my life. The magic that I was born with, the magic that made me connected to Nature, the magic that balances my life. It gave me purpose. It made me feel alive and content. Now that I lost my magic. It is like losing part of me, an empty hollow, and the limb that was attached to me was all gone. I can't stand it. I can't stay with you because I am afraid I won't be healed or get better if I watch you doing magic. Seeing you, being a witch brought me depth pain and longing. It was not your fault. I don't blame you. I blame the Salvatore. They did this to me. They forced me this. I cannot forgive them.

I am sorry that I'm leaving you. But I don't regret meeting you. In fact, I am so proud of you. To see you grown up as a young capable strong witch made me proud. However, my deepest regret that I never get to watch you grow. Bonnie, you truly a beautiful gem and you will continue shine brighter as you continue grow. I am so, so proud of you. My mother did a wonderful job raising you, unlike me. However, I can give you this which I hope you accept it. It's a tradition for mother-daughter as witches. I may not be the best mother in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if I get disqualified from being mom award participants. But I want to give you this.

I created this gift with you in my mind. It's a mom's job to created it and pass it to her daughter when she shows a sign of her magic. I know it's late but I thought, better late than never.

I am sorry for leaving you.

But it's for the best.

Goodbye.

Abby Bennett

Bonnie lowered the letter as she is currently sitting on the couch in Abby's house while her olive-green eyes dimmed slightly. Her gaze shifted over the gift that her mother left her.

It a black grimoire, with beautifully crafted four elements on each corner; the left upper corner is the red-orange flame, the right upper corner is aqua-blue water, the left bottom corner is forest-green earth, and lastly the right bottom corner is cream-white air. On the middle of the black cover, is a silver box with a silver engraved diamond shape along with an insert of a stunningly emerald gemstone.

Bonnie reached the grimoire and glanced at the spine of the spellbook as she noted the double Bs on top of the spine, back-to-back Bs that identified this book belongs to Bonnie Bennett. The petite witch opens the grimoire and flips the blank pages and stopped in the middle of the pages when there's an emerald-green ribbon for a bookmark.

It's one of the most beautiful grimoires she has ever seen. And yet she feels hurt, angry, frustrated, distress, and resigned. "…and yet you left without a hesitant." She whispered sadly.

She was abandoned by her mother.

Again.
