He couldn't see, hear, nor move. The eerie darkness hung over him, and the silence was unbearable. He began to sink, and began slowly sinking into the dark liquid. Panicking he floundered, but to no avail, and began sinking further down. He attempted to breathe, but to his utter shock, the dark liquid flooded his insides, and he began to silently choke. Thinking it was the end, he let go and closed his eyes...

And here he was again, back at the same spot as he was earlier. "How?" he wondered aloud, but he couldn't even hear his own voice. Suddenly, he started falling into a deep dark chasm.

Splash!

Or at least, that's what he imagined it would've sounded like, if it were not for the fact that there was no sound at all.

He floundered around, but the dark icy liquid dragged him beneath the surface, leaving him gasping for air. All he could do was cry for help inside his head, but it was no use. There was nobody even if they could hear him. He stopped fighting and sank, and sank, and sank, but there was no bottom, no end, no escape.

Back again, he thought to himself. And so he attempted to bend the liquid to his will, but to his disappointment, he began sinking, once again. The next time, he attempted to battle the mysterious liquid, but he sank once again. Again and again, he tried all sorts of ideas, but none worked, and as each cycle ended with him drowning, the next began. But each cycle grew shorter and shorter, and he found himself running out of time. "LET ME OUT!" he screamed, but just like before, there was nothing to be heard.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. His mind was going insane, counting down as time ran out. Tick. Tock. TICK. TOCK. Then he died once again.

The cycles were getting shorter, and he was sinking faster, and faster. And then he saw her, reaching towards him, like an angel in the dark. He reached up, trying to grab her outreached hand...

"We are here to remember, Perseus "Percy" Jackson, as he met his fate..." the priest droned on. Rain fell to the ground, but nobody cared. Ironically, it reminded all of the attendees of him.

And so tears fell from her eyes, dripping to the ground. Her eyes red as she watched her one and only son be put into the ground.
