Thanks for the reviews, favs, and follows! *grin*

I'm glad you readers like Bonnie/Klaus friendship! I thought that maybe Klaus will finally have someone who can be a real friend to him outside of his family, ya know? It would be an interesting friendship between our witch and hybrid, no? :3

While I am considering other pairings, what is your opinion about (possibility) Klaus/Elena? Or (possibility) Klaus/Davina? *thinking* ...I mean... surprisingly, other readers prefer Kol/Caroline more than Klaus/Caroline.

(As in readers, I meant my friends. *sweatdrop*) Even one of them said about, Marcel/Caroline which I was completely dumbfounded. Anyways... it's 'cause there already ton, tons of Klaus/Caroline stories so... *shrugs* Please let me know your thoughts~ :)

Warning: unbeta. English is my second. ASL is my first. I'm Deaf. *humming*

I don't own the Vampire Diaries.

Enjoy~ ^^

Bennett's Residence
Bonnie's Bedroom
Couple Days Later…

The petite witch turned on her side while snuggles against her pillow while the moonlight shines through the window, dancing on the floor until it reached her slumber body. Bonnie eyebrows furrowed deeply as her hands curled into her sheet. Her heart thumped in accordance with slow, shallow breaths. Her consciousness swirled in the land of vision, oblivious to the physical world.

Bonnie fluttered her eyes open and blinked a few times when she noticed that she is not wearing her pajamas nor her usual casual clothes. Instead, she is wearing a strapless black bouffant-skirt gown that reached the ground, and black combat boots. Bonnie was startled by her appearance as it was not her formal type. She glanced around and noted that she is in vintage hallway of some kind. The ground was the dark red carpet, the walls are worn-out wallpapers of faded unique patterns, and ancient wall lights. Across the hallway, there is tall and wide of white double-doors.

Bonnie grabbed the hem of her dress and step forward as she doesn't want to trip over. Her olive-green eyes carefully observed her surrounding with warily. She never dreamt this before, it was very strange and slightly uncomfortable.

Soon, when she reached at the doors. She paused and stared at it for a moment. The petite witch reached the doorknobs, twisted and pushed it inward while her heart beating with apprehension, curious, and suspicious. Bonnie step forward with hesitant while examined the room carefully.

It was an empty large room, the ground was cracked of brown and green dirt as if an Earthquake happened long ago. The wallpapers were hardly any color of faded, torn and ripped. Her gaze observed the room once she steps inside further until she halted. On her left, the wall was barely covered by a large antique golden frame with three silhouette figures. Bonnie scrutinized it closer and comprehend that the shape of black figures is two males and one female. She doesn't understand why she is having this dream or a vision. However, she knew that whoever these people are—they are important.

Bonnie took a couple of steps backward while her olive-green eyes stay on the mystery picture. She lowered herself on the ground, legs curls on her side and one of her palms placed on the ground next to her while her other hand is resting on her legs. Bonnie tilted her head while eyeing the antique frame and silhouettes calmly. She blinked a few times as she could feel the drowsiness creeps up into her. The petite witch closes her eyes.

The phone ring startled Bonnie up, half-awake with one eye open when she noticed her bedroom is barely bathed by the early morning sun. The ringing was loud as she turned on her other side, groping her hand to grab her phone as she crawls slowly to the edge of her bed. Once she reached her nightstand, pluck her smartphone and squint her eyes at the ID.

Bonnie groaned exaggeratedly when she saw the ID caller. She really doesn't want to answer the phone call from him however, it seems that he refuses to allow her to sleep continue because he calls her once again. The petite witch answer and pressed it on her ear as she dropped her head against the pillow. "What?" she demanded tiredly. Wanting to know why this Hybrid disrupts her beauty sleep.

"My mother is dead." Klaus declared, gravely.

The petite witch blinked owlishly as she slowly comprehends the news that Klaus just dropped the bombed on her. "…the Original bitch is what?"

Mystic Falls
High School

Bonnie and Caroline are walking through the gym hall while students are decorating for the twenties' Decade Dance. The blonde-haired beauty looked over the clipboard as she is in charge of the preparations since Rebekah is unavailable. "I still can't believe Elena kissed Damon." She muttered in astonished. "What did she ever see in that guy? What about Stefan? He's so much better option for her."

The petite witch hummed disinterested when they arrived at one of the props tables. Bonnie examined the props as she saw old-fashioned black faux-chandelier. She grabbed the handle and lifted it up with a raised eyebrow. "You want this ugly thing to hang?" the tiny witch asked with an amused face.

Caroline wrinkle her nose in disgusted at the fake chandelier. "You know what, if Rebekah wanted to hang this monstrosity, she should have shown up to do it herself." She grabbed the chandelier and handed it to a passing by student who took it. "Just no." Bonnie watches with amused when Caroline noticed Matt and Jeremy working on hanging up stars in the ceilings as they are on the ladders.

"What are you doing?" Matt and Jeremy paused and glanced over the blonde-haired perky vampire who waves her hand gesture around. "You can't just hang them! They're supposed to trickle down."

Matt snorted and leaned the young Gilbert with raise mockingly eyebrow. "Trickle, duh!" Jeremy chortled.

Caroline shakes her head fondly then turned her attention to Bonnie who is keeping her eyes on the feather boas quietly. "…how are you? With Jeremy?" she whispered, worried.

"…I talked to him on the phone when he returns to Mystic Falls." Bonnie admitted as Caroline perked up with interested. "He believes we are over before he moved to Denver." She wasn't happy about that, but she can't do anything about it.

The blonde-haired beauty frowned. "Wait what? Since when?" she didn't remember that Bonnie and Jeremy had broken up.

"Since he was compelled to leave for Denver." The petite witch answered, solemnly.

"Oh my God… then he needs to break out from the compulsion." Caroline said, with determined as she wants to make her best friend happy.

Bonnie shakes her head as she lifted her olive-green eyes to Caroline with a soft smile. "No. I think it's for the best." 'Plus, I can't let him die again. And since I will be involved with the Originals and the war in the future. It would be best to let him go. It would keep him safe.' She mused, upset yet resigned. Bonnie really liked Jeremy a lot but because of that, she is willing to push him away to protect him. Jeremy is only a human, and he is not safe in the supernatural world.

Caroline furrowed her eyebrows as she frowned with concerned. "Are you sure?" Bonnie nodded her head with a tight smile. The petite witch picked up box from the ground and placed it on the table, she took out one of the white cloth napkins and start folded them.

The blonde-haired beauty helped Bonnie by grabbing one of the cloth napkins and fold them. "So, who are you bringing to the dance?"

Bonnie paused as she briefly recalled from the text a while ago from certain Original.

[Save me a dance tonight, love.]

The petite witch hopes that he doesn't mean as a date. "No one. You?" she said, continuing fold the cloth napkins.

"No. But I can find someone to go with as a friendly date. Probably with Matt? Who knows." Caroline answered with a smile.

Bonnie smiles at her. "Guess that means I'm going solo." She doesn't need to know about Elena's date because she knew that the human doppelgänger always has a date to the decade dance.

The blonde-haired vampire hummed. "I could find you a date? Like… what about Jamie?" she said with a teasing smile and grabbed one last cloth napkin from the box and folded it.

"Really? Jamie?" Bonnie snorted as she grabbed the empty box and placed it on the ground. She picks up the feather boas from the table to the box.

Caroline shrugs her shoulders playfully as she picked up the stacks of folded napkins. "Why not? He's cute and nice."

"He's my adopted brother." Bonnie blunted with slight disturbed. "He was raised by Abby for years… it's weird if I date Jamie." She rejected the idea.

The blonde-haired vampire hummed. "Then how about we go as girls date?"

Bonnie picked up the fedora hat and placed it on her head. "Well, I would say that would be my pleasure to be your date, milady." She playfully winks at her best friend who placed her hand on her heart.

"Oh, Bonnie… you are such a charmer." Caroline fluttered her eyelashes at her.

Then the witch and the vampire broke down in giggles at their silly antics.

Mystic Falls
High School
Gym – 20s Decade Dance
Night…

The party is in full swing inside the gym hall with lots of students dancing to the music in their twenties' costumes. There were many lively and old dance moves with smiles and laughter from students. Bonnie dressed in black with white patterns flapper dress, black heels, white long fake-pearl necklace, black elbow-sleeves, and black feather boa. Bonnie is dancing with her best friend, Caroline who wears a red flapper dress, white elbow-gloves, a pearl necklace, a red feather attached to her hair, and silver heels.

They both were laughing happily while twirling around as the music booming through the gym hall. Bonnie noticed over Caroline's shoulder when she saw Tyler sauntered in while fist-bumping the students and greeted them friendly. "What's he doing here?" Bonnie halted with surprised.

Caroline turned around and gasped in shocked. Tyler saw her and smirks at her charmingly. He ambled toward her. Bonnie watched her best friend shakes her head with disbelieved and anxious. "Are you crazy?" the perky vampire hisses at her boyfriend while glanced around warily. "If Klaus sees you—"

"What's he gonna do? Draw you another picture?"

Bonnie raise her eyebrow at this news. 'Since when did he draw picture to Caroline?' she knew Klaus is interested in her blonde-haired best friend. But she wondered just how much does Klaus genuinely like Caroline?

"Tyler, this isn't a joke!" Caroline said, worried and irritated.

Tyler huffed. "I can pretend I'm sired if I have to. But I'm not gonna hide while he's macking all over you." He snapped with jealously.

The blonde-haired beauty sighed with understanding. "Tyler…" she placed her hands on her boyfriend's shoulders with comfort smile. "You do not need to be jealous of Klaus."

"I am jealous, but I'm also competitive." Tyler admitted then glanced over to Bonnie. "Sorry, Bonnie. I'mma gonna steal my girl and charm her with my moves." Tyler smirks at Caroline. "So hang on—" he wraps his arms around Caroline. "—I'm about to sweep you off your feet." Bonnie step back while mirth glint in her eyes when Tyler sweeps Caroline off her feet in his arms and spins her around. Caroline giggles sweetly.

Bonnie just shakes her head and left the couple to dance to the refreshing table. She grabbed one of the plastic cups, filled with punch and start observed the dance with quiet content. Then she potted Elena and Stefan arrived in the gym and soon, start dancing together. She sighed softly while observed and sipping her punch.

After a moment, the slow song appeared, and she smiles warmly when she saw how happy her best friend is when Caroline is dancing with Tyler. Bonnie is glad that Caroline has her own happiness with a guy who loves her, but she feels like Caroline can do so much better. Something tells her that Caroline is not meant to be with Tyler Lockwood. 'I wonder who is meant for her.' She mused, wondering.

"It is such a shame to see someone as beautiful as you not receiving any attention, sweetheart." Familiar accented interrupted Bonnie's muse.

Bonnie blinked in surprise to see Klaus who stood next to her, wearing white suits and a sharp smirk on his face. The petite witch made a face. "You actually here?" she was hoping he wouldn't come to the high school decade dance, unfortunately she was wrong.

Klaus placed his hand on his heart. "You wound me, love." A humorous smirk appeared when he noticed her eye-rolling at him. "Now, may I have pleasure to have a dance?" he offered his hand at Bonnie.

"…you won't take my answer no, are you." Bonnie stated dryly and Klaus smirks in respond. "Why the hell not." She set the nearly empty cup on the table and accepted his offered.

Soon, they both start slow dancing. "You know, nineteen-twenties were a fascinating time. The girls back then were reckless, sexy, fun. They literally used to dance until they dropped." Klaus commented, calmly.

"Wow. Sounds like you had blast." Bonnie dryly said. "Are you seriously going to reminiscence me? I've already got bunch of bias and prejudice of the sixties when you drunk called me couple nights ago." She said with exasperatedly.

The Hybrid Original made faux-sorrow faces at her. "You should be nicer to me, Bonnie. I'm leaving town tomorrow. I would invite you to come with me, but I do not need any assistance from a witch. However, I do expect a call from you if there are possible potential danger to me or my family." Klaus reminded her of their deal.

"Does this mean I won't get to act some kind of therapy-listener call from you in the future?" Bonnie asked, hopeful.

Klaus made a faux-thinking face then shakes his head. "Nope. I rather find it therapeutic." Bonnie's shoulders slumped with mixture of irritated and resigned.

Then Klaus paused as he stared over her shoulder blankly. Bonnie turned her head over her shoulder and was curious when Damon is staring at them in the distance. He was mouthing his words which Bonnie assumed he was talking to Klaus since she doesn't have heightened supernatural hearing. Klaus' eyes darken as his muscles are tenses. "What? What is it?" Bonnie asked, curious.

"It seems I was wrong. Esther is not dead." Bonnie break herself away from Klaus with perplexed. "And not only that, but there are also salt around the school. Biding agent for her spell." He chuckled humorlessly. "Not only I found out that Rebekah is not here. And my doppelgänger is gone with Esther. And she put a spell to trapped supernatural beings here."

Bonnie processed the information in her head then sighed loudly. "Why can't your mother just stay dead." She groaned and Klaus sent his understanding and annoyance glances at her.

Empty Classroom
Later…

Bonnie closed her eyes as several candles are lit front of her on the desk while other vampires quietly watching her. She attempted to recall the information of this spell that she read from the grimoire. 'If I remembered correctly, Esther used the spell called Salt Boundary which means that is creates a barrier that can selectively trap certain species, typically vampires, withing a boundary drawn with salt. She surrounded this entire school which means it takes a large portion of power. Not only that, she is connecting the salt barrier, which means I will have to fight her to break the boundary spell.' She mused, trying to find a way, a loophole to break the spell.

"What's taking so long?" Damon blunted, confused and agitated.

Bonnie ignores Damon as she continues thinking deeply. 'Remember Bonnie, think like a witch. Every spell has a loophole.'

Then Matt enters the classroom hurriedly. "People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier." He informed the Salvatore brothers, Jeremy, and Klaus.

Jeremy perked up. "Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. We just gotta find out where she is."

"It's a suicide, Jeremy." Stefan protested as he steps forward.

Damon huffed loudly. "Are you taking your damn time or not? Come on, Judgey! Hurry up!" he snapped, worried and fear for Elena's safety. Klaus frowned at the short-tempered rude vampire who is disrespectful to the Bennett witch. Before the Hybrid Original does anything, Bonnie snapped her eyes and glared hatefully at the older Salvatore. "Averte vocem." She chanted a spell directly at Damon.

The older Salvatore choked as he touches his throat. All eyes are on Damon in baffled and surprised. Damon cleared his throat and coughed few times, then he glares angrily at Bonnie. He opens his mouth but froze in disbelief. His jaw shut then open again.

Nothing but silence from him as Damon touches his throat in stunned. His blue eyes shifted to his young brother with horror that he can't speak.

Klaus raises his eyebrow with amused and impressed.

"You are standing on a very thin ice right now, Damon." Bonnie hisses icily while glaring at the older Salvatore. "Right now, the Salt Boundary spell won't be easily break because Esther is channeling from somewhere. And it would be best to let Matt and Jeremy go ahead but as long as you two are not trying to fight against the Original Witch, yet." She glanced at her friend and ex-boyfriend with a slightly warm gaze.

Matt frowned with confusion. "Then… do we know where Elena could be?" he pointed it out.

"Locator spell." Stefan declared but Bonnie shakes her head.

Klaus continue watching Damon who is still struggled to voice out but remain blissfully silence while Bonnie open her mouth. "No. If Esther is using the channeling from somewhere with a lot of power then I can't use the locator spell. I wouldn't be surprised if she is prepared to block me. Salt Boundary spell requires a lot of power, especially it is surrounding around this big school building. A place she is channeling from, it might be a hotspot."

The Hybrid shifted his gaze to Bonnie with realization. "I believe I know where she is." Then he glanced at Jeremy and Matt. "You both need to start up with gear and prepare."

"Wait, where is Elena?" Jeremy asked, curious.

Klaus smirks coldly. "I believe Esther is in the old cemetery. A place, long ago, where I tore her heart from her chest." He explained, happily.

Bonnie hummed with interest. "That kind of violence of her death marked the old cemetery ground for all time." She recalled learning that information from the old grimoire that Klaus gave her. "Which means I need her dead in order to break the boundary spell." She blunted which all eyes turned to her with a mixture of disturbed, worried, discomfort, astonished, and baffled except Klaus who looks greatly amused. "What? If she continues being alive and channeling the power from the old cemetery, then I can't break her spell. The loophole was humans passing through the barrier." Bonnie waves her hand over the candles to extinguished them calmly.

After a while, Matt and Jeremy are armed and left the school building while vampires stuck inside the trapped barrier. Bonnie stays in the classroom as she is standing outside of the window with open binds, staring at the distance while contemplative. 'Once Esther is dead, I can easily break the barrier.'

"Bonnie…" a hesitant voice speak out which Bonnie turned to Stefan who is standing close to Damon with his hand on his brother's arm, holding him back as Damon seems to want to lurch at the witch in frustration anger.

Klaus just stood a few feet away, watching it sideline with entertainment.

Bonnie knew what Stefan is asking her for. He was hoping she would switch Damon's voice back on. However, the petite witch entertains as she wonders if she let Damon suffer for a while. But then she will deal with whining and complaining from Elena and Stefan. So, she rolled her eyes and twirl her wrist at Damon.

The older Salvatore coughed roughly for a moment and Klaus looks disappointedly as if his source of entertainment is gone.

"You…" Damon growled angrily while Bonnie stared at him blankly. "…I get it. You're still mad at me for what happened to Abby. Let me apologize. I'm sorry Elijah forced us to turn your mother into a vampire to save Elena's life. Didn't exactly have a choice." He snapped.

The petite witch's eyes darken. "There's always a choice." Her voice became cold. "Whenever you make one, someone else suffers."

Klaus whistle lowly while Stefan's lips pressed together with solemn eyes and Damon's hands curled into tight fists.

Bonnie turned her back on them and continue watching the view outside through the window silently.

Outside
Later…

Bonnie sauntered through the exit doors calmly as her gaze immediately found Salvatore brothers and the Hybrid Original. "It's done. Esther's not fighting anymore which I assumed she's dead now. The boundary spell is broken." She said, politely.

Klaus raise his hand to test the boundary and seeing that he is now free from it. He glanced over the Bennett witch with acknowledging and pleased with her. Soon, he vamp-speed away.

"Thank you, Bonnie." Stefan speaks up as he stared at Bonnie with a grateful tone. "For everything."

The petite witch examined the Salvatore brothers quietly then huffed. "I didn't do it for you." She turned around and return to the school building to inform her best friend about the barrier that is now broken.

Bennett's Residence
Bonnie's Bedroom
Later…

It has been a very long night for Bonnie when she went to take a quick shower and put on her comfortable pajamas—dark green tank top and black shorts—and she climbed under her cover on her bed. She placed her head on her pillow as her olive-green orbs noticed the moon in the night sky. Her heart sank with sadness and guilty that she won't be able to help Alaric as he was cursed in transition and decided to die in the tomb alone.

She closed her eyes, feeling sad and angry that she is useless to help people she cares about. If only she is strong enough, powerful enough, and experiences enough… she might be able to save Elena and Jeremy's guardian. But she failed.

Failed as a witch.

And as a friend.

A tear rolls down her cheek as she shut her eyes and pressed her face against her pillow.

Mystic Falls
Old Cemetery

Damon opens the gate with solemn face but halted when he saw Bonnie in her pajamas as she was glowing by the moonlight that provide in the night sky. He is eyeing the petite witch with confusion. "What are you doing here?" he noticed she was barefoot which was odd.

Bonnie steps forward blankly as she doesn't show any signs of noticing Damon. "Hey Bonnie… what—are you sleepwalking or something?" Damon followed her with a concerned frown. "Bonnie?"

However, the petite witch turned around, lift her hand in the air toward Damon and gave him huge migraine. Damon clutched his head as she falls to his knees while screaming in pain. "No! Bonnie! No!" Damon screamed in pain as he shut his eyes. Bonnie continued the hex at the older Salvatore until he fainted to the ground.

Bonnie lowered her hand and walked in the tomb, further in the room where Alaric was located. She halted front of the dead body, bend down and picked up the indestructible white oak stake and stabs one of her palms unflinchingly.

Then she put her bleeding palm into Alaric's mouth, and soon he starts drinking. His hands grabbed her arm as he continues greedily drinking it then face away as he revealed his fangs. Alaric pulled the blank Bonnie closer to him, bit down her neck and drinks more of her powerful witch blood. After a couple more gulps, he drags his fangs out and threw her body to the floor.

Alaric reached the bloody white oak stake from the ground, stood up to his feet and stalked out of the tomb silently.
