Kacey and John were extremely happy. Kacey and Kori were in the kitchen. Kacey was making dinner. They were waiting for John. The front door opened.
"Hello?" John said.
"John!" Kori said excitedly running into the living room.
"Hey you." John said smiling. He scooped her up and kissed her on the cheek.
"Did you miss me?"
"Yeah." "I didn't get to see you last time I was here."
"I was at my daddy's."
"I know." "Did you have fun when you went there?"
"Yeah."
"Is your mommy in the kitchen?"
"Yeah." "She's making dinner."
"What are we having?"
"Spaghetti."
"Yum." They went into the kitchen.
"Kori go get washed up for dinner." Kacey said. John put Kori down and she went upstairs. He turned to Kacey. "Hi." He said smiling.
"Hi handsome." She said smiling back. They kissed. "I missed you."
"I missed you to."
"I hope you brought your appetite."
"I'm starving."
"Kori's been talking about you all day."
"I know she misses me when I'm gone." "I miss her to."
"I know."
Later that night a really bad rain storm was happening. Kori went into Kacey's room as fast as she could, with Buttercup in hand. She went to John's side of the bed.
"John." She said.
"What's wrong?" John said tiredly opening his eyes.
"Buttercup and me want to sleep with you and mommy."
He pulled back the covers. "Come here." She got in bed and he covered her up. There was a crack of lightning. She held John tight. "It's ok."
"Buttercup doesn't like the storm."
"I know but I would never let anything happen to Buttercup, you, or your mommy." He kissed her forehead.
