Note: I do not want to act like an idiot here, but I still think that The Raccoons shouldn't get a reboot. Whenever a show gets rebooted, the result is usually terrible. However, there are a few exceptions, so I shouldn't throw stones. Now that I've said that, let's move on to chapter 2.
Chapter 2: Sore
Bert, Ralph, Melissa, Cedric and Sophia made their way to the hospital. Once they got there, they were greeted by George, Nicole, and Bentley.
"Bentley!" Bert said to his little buddy.
"Hi Bert." Bentley said while looking on the floor.
"Where were you guys at?" George asked.
"I was riding my bike while Cedric was watching." The bent-nosed raccoon answered.
"And we were working on the latest issue of the Standard." Ralph said.
"What about Bentley?" Cedric asked.
"Bentley told uz everything." Nicole said.
"I even had them call the police." Bentley said.
"That's good Bentley," Melissa said, "but what about Lisa? After all, she's a rape victim now."
"Not to mention that her attacker didn't even get caught." Cedric said.
"Oh, how I'd like to catch her attacker and wring his neck!" Bert spoke angrily, "Anyone who does something horrible to one of my closest friends must pay!"
"Calm down, Bert." George sighed, not wanting to see one of his friends angry.
"He was like that earlier," Sophia said, "but he was shouting and turning red.
"Really?" Bentley asked, surprised that Bert had gotten so angry.
"Only the shouting happened." Cedric said.
Nurse Peck walked into the room, holding a clipboard.
"Nurse Peck, how's Lisa?" Bert asked
"She's calmed down a little bit from earlier," Nurse Peck said, "but she's still a tad bit nervous to be around men. However, she did state that Bert and Bentley could come in."
"Do you want to see her with me, Bentley?" Bert asked the younger raccoon.
"I think I'll stay out here." Bentley said.
"Okay." Bert said before turning to Nurse Peck, "Lead me to her."
The nurse did so, leading Bert out of everyone's sight.
"Bert's going to get angrier, I can feel it." Melissa said.
"I hope that he doesn't buy a gun or get a knife." Cedric said as he shuddered, "If anything he said becomes true, imagine how far he'd go if he had access to a weapon."
"I'm zure Bert can be reztrained long enough for zomeone to take hiz weapon away." Nicole said.
"If not," Ralph gulped, "then no one is safe!"
After a few minutes of walking, Bert entered Lisa's hospital room. Before he entered, he was cautious enough to knock before he came in.
"Who is it?" A shaky voice asked.
Bert wasn't looking at Lisa when he entered the room, "It's me."
When Bert saw Lisa, he was absolutely mortified. The female raccoon was laying down on a hospital bed with an IV in her eye. She was wearing a hospital gown and was covered up in a blanket. What mortified Bert was that her face and arms were bruised horribly. The goofy raccoon didn't know whether to cry or scream.
"Lisa ..." Bert was almost speechless.
"I was raped, Bert." Lisa moaned in pain, "I couldn't fight off my rapist. He was too big, not to mention as strong as a bull. No matter how much I screamed, he wouldn't let go. He just kept calling me nicknames while complimenting how good I felt."
"That bastard!" Bert quietly said.
"You weren't there." Lisa whimpered, the pain from the attack coming back, "You weren't there and he raped me! I was honestly hoping that you would come when I screamed your name, but you didn't!"
"I'm sorry Lisa, I really am." Bert felt like crying, feeling responsible for his friend being in so much pain.
"It's not your fault!" Lisa started to cry, "I didn't mean to say what I said, I was just angry at what happened! Please don't hate me!"
"I don't hate you at all." Bert said, wanting the female raccoon to calm down.
"That's not t-the worst part of it!" Lisa sobbed, "The worst part is that I'm going to be seen as some slut who enjoyed it!"
"None of that's true!" Bert said, angry that Lisa would call herself an awful word or would be called that word when people looked at her.
"I don't think that it would matter, Bert." Lisa sighed, "I still had my virginity stolen from me. Not only that, but the guy who did this to me is still on the run."
"Don't worry," Bert said, "I'll find that rapist and kill him. I promise, I'll make sure of it."
"Thanks Bert, I guess." Lisa sniffled.
"What time do you leave here?" The usually goofy raccoon asked.
"I get out tomorrow." Lisa said as she wiped her eyes.
"I'll pick you up," Bert said, "if your parents don't mind."
"I'm sure that Mom and Dad trust you enough for you to take me home." Lisa said.
Bert began to walk to the door, but stopped and said, "I've got something to give you."
"What is it?" The female raccoon asked.
"This." Bert said as he kissed her on her forehead.
After that, the peanut butter-loving raccoon left the room. Lisa simply smiled to herself, knowing that she could trust Bert. Throughout the night, she felt happy. In fact, she didn't even have a nightmare as she drifted off to sleep.
Note: I decided to not make Bert do anything else to Lisa for know. Considering how she was raped and beaten, it would be low for Bert to give her something more than a kiss. Their relationship will improve as the story continues, but they won't go beyond dating. I mean, would a rape victim have sex after having been forced onto? I will also write how everyone will react to how Lisa's doing after such a horrible experience she had.
Katt: Oh, I just want to hug the little ringtail.
Krystal: Me too, poor thing didn't deserve to have that to happen to her.
Me: No one deserves rape, it's a horrible thing.
