In the archipelago of islands known as the Sevii islands, there was one island in particular that stood out among the rest. The island was home to no one or nothing, for reasons that have conveniently been forgotten over time (and will certainly not be answered during the duration of this program). This isolated island was simply known as Pokemon Island, and has been untouched by Pokemonkind for generations.

Until now that is. After all, what better place exists to host a show of this scale than a vacant island? It's literally free real estate.

We find ourselves on the beaches of this secret island, lapped by the frothy blue waves. Nearing the shore was a Lapras, carrying upon her ridged back a Pichu with a large red bow tied around his neck. As they closed the distance between the ocean and the beaches, the Pichu turned to face the unseen audience.

"Ah, welcome." In stark contrast to his cute, childlike appearance, he spoke with a deep, Galarian accent. "This game is almost ready to begin. However, it appears that we might have a very… err, unfortunate mishap on our hands. We had all twenty-two contestants chosen and ready to be shipped out to the contest. In an incredible stroke of misfortune however, all of our contestants have suddenly… disappeared. However, it would be such a waste to discard all of our plans because of a little incident such as this. So many people were waiting for this moment! So, I have decided to search for new, "willing" participants to partake in our little game. After all, how could this be called a game if there are no players. Now, this is where you come in."

"Send us your applications - you know where to send them - and you might be chosen for the next season of Total Pokemon Island. Oh, but just be sure… once you're here, you surrender any right to leave until your time here is up. That being said, I wish you the best of luck… campers-"

The tape suddenly cut out. "So… that's all we have huh. There's not a lot to go off from here." A Gumshoos was slumped down in front of a Rotom tv, drinking from a mug of still steaming coffee. Next to him was a concerned looking Seedot (well, as concerned as a Seedot COULD look).

"I don't understand. Isn't the island they showed on tape where the hostages are being held?" The Seedot asked.

The Gumshoos sighed and shook his head dejectedly. "No such luck. There is a place like that near the Sevii islands… but we already looked there and there's no trace of anyone having been anywhere near there. It's nothing but a huge dead end."

"Sh-shucks… I was sure once we saw the video it would be case closed. I guess that crook is a lot trickier than we gave him credit for…" The Seedot took another glance at the TV screen - but all that remained of the once pristine image was static.

"Hmph." The Gumshoos set down his cup of coffee. "With him… who knows. I can only pray to Arceus that those kids are still safe."

Hi, I've been interested in doing one of these for awhile so I finally got around to it :) Mind the small bit of plot at the end there, I wanted to create a bit of intrigue to set this apart from other stories like this - whether I succeeded or flopped is up to interpretation though. Anyway, if you're curious and want to submit a character, the form is in my profile! i would prefer if you private messaged me your applications btw - it's easier to keep track of. That being said, thank you all for reading and good luck!
