In a sectioned off area of their lighthouse, two twin brothers sleep soundly in their bunkbed. James, the first born, rests on his warm mattress and is draped in a light quilt knitted with little sea birds as he snuggles his little green turtle plush close to his face. Marz, the second born, embraces the cool ocean breeze coming through their cracked open window. His quilt is pushed down to his feet as he sprawls his body out on his bed.
The blackout curtain separating their room from the rest of the house sweeps open and lets their someone tiptoe in. Sparky slowly walks across the floor, careful to not make a sound. He quietly climbs up the ladder to the top bunk where his eldest son resides.
James' takes a waking breath through his rosy brown nose as he rubs his closed eyes with his knuckle. He feels his father's tender paw rubbing his back and he smiles warmly at him through squnited navy blue eyes.
"Wake up," Sparky whispered. "I want to show you something."
The first born nods and sets his sleeping toy on his side before kicking off his quilt. Sparky opens his arms to embrace his son and to pick him up and off of his bed. He rests him on his shoulder and rubs his back as he slowly begins to fall back asleep over it. Zirconia leans in the doorway and pushes the curtain out of the way of her mate. Sparky looks to his boojiboo and nods to their second born on the bottom bunk. She gently wakes him up the same way they did their first and they make their way through the night lit house.
The twins are fully awake by the time they make it down the stairs to exit their beacon abode. Sparky pushes the door open with his third arm and the frigid twilight air rushes in and chills them down to their skin. They shake off the cold and share a quiet laugh at how crazy their furs look. The full moon reflects her soft blue light on her calm and glassy ocean black ocean.
The family sits on the edge of their cliff overlooking the tranquil sea. The waves quietly lap at the boulders at the base of its mountainous foundation. James and Marz sit together on their father's lap as they enjoy the beautiful ocean gleaming in the moonlight.
"What did you want to show us Daddy?" Marz whispered.
"Yeah, what is it?" James continued.
"...See the star I'm pointing at?" Sparky said, pointing a yellow claw to a star in the night sky. "The purple-ish one?"
James and Marz tilt their heads up to stare up, their long antenna tap at the grass as they scan around the infinite void above them. "That one?" They ask simultaneously.
"Mhm," Sparky nods, "That's where we're from. That's the planet we came from before we came to Earth. It's called, 'Quelte Quan.'"
"Wow!" The twins exclaim quietly.
"Yeah. Me, your dad, and all your aunties and uncles would travel from planet to planet doing what we did best." The female five-series explained. "I would tell you what we did… but we did a lot of bad things and I don't want to share them with you boys yet. K?"
The first and second SGXs nod in confirmation. They look at each other and look back to the stars, admiring their beautiful shine.
"But I didn't just bring you two out here to show you stars." Sparky spoke. He reveals his secondary arms and wraps them around his pups as he scooches closer to the edge. Zirconia looks to her boojiboo and smiles, knowing exactly what he was going to do. She stands and takes a step back as she looks to her family. James and Marz look at their mom bewildered who just smiles at them.
"Three..." Sparky counted. The twins look to their dad with the same expression they gave their mom.
"What's happening?" James asked... no response.
"TWo…" Sparky counted, a little louder than before and scooched ever so slightly closer to the edge. The brothers look around concerned and notice they're a little closer to the edge of the cliff. Something clicked in their brains and they picked up what was going on. They attempt to escape the clutches of the father but he holds on tighter.
"ONE- wee!" Sparky shouted as he lept off the cliff and held onto his screaming children. The water bored boulders near and they shout, "ROCKS! ROCKS!" To warn their death defying father of the danger approaching. No response is recieved. They shut their eyes and clutch onto each other and father as they prepare to smash into the rocks below.
The rocks don't come and they feel wind gushing around them. The brothers crack open their eyes and marvel at the sight. Soaring mere inches above the glassy ocean surface, Sparky has a toothy smile glued to his face as he flies across the glistening sea.
Zirconia watches the blinding ball of yellow light and electricity skate over the black ocean and off into the distance.
The water wakes under Sparky's body as he zooms across it. Marz reaches down and touches the water below, his paw effortlessly glides across the calm ocean and makes a wake of its own.
Sparky slowly decreases his speed to a halt in the middle of the water. His tail shortens and the wake catches up, flowing underneath them. "Was that fun?!" He asked as he held his pups out in front of him. The brothers nod eagerly and cheer for the father for the amazing ride. "Do you want to try?"
They look to their father confused and then nod excitedly when they understand what he asked.
"Alright! You two should be able to because you always shock each other… and me, a lot. And you got stuck in the socket once and I had to get you out." Sparky said as he looked at his first born who blushes and looks away bashfully, but laughing.
Watching from the cliff, Zirconia observes the glowing figure hovering above the ocean before walking back inside.
"Ok, so." Sparky began, "Focus on your charge. Build up energy inside you."
They furrow their brows slightly as they focus on creating electricity within themselves.
"Ohh, so strong! I can feel that, good!" Sparky marveled at his sons' attempt. "Next, focus it through your body. Not out of your body, through."
The young SGXs tilt their heads and think about the request before performing the action.
"Yes, yes, good! Now hold it!" He slowly lowers his paws out from under their feet and smiles widely that they are floating. He floats backwards and clasps his paw to his mouth, supporting his elbow with the opposite paw as he stares proudly at his pups.
Zirconia hops around and claps happily at seeing two new turquoise balls of light floating before the brighter yellow one.
"Oh~" Sparky said as he rushed back to his babies and drew them both in a tight hug above the glowing ocean. "I'm SO proud of you two!" He said as he kissed both of them on the head and wiped a tear pooling in his eye. "Now for the fun part. Increase your charge... and FLY!" He whooped as he rockets high into the night sky.
James and Marz watch their father soar into the sky and look to each other before building energy within them. Turquoise lightning jumps around their bodies and antennae. Their bodies glow a brighter blue and their tails elongate and straighten out. With a flash of light, they launch themselves high into the sky with lightning blazing. They twirl around each other in the air and meet up with their father who quickly bolts away. The brothers give chase and laugh widely as they fly.
Sparky checks behind him and sees his sons catching up. He dashes forward faster and increases his charge, flying almost twice as fast as he was before. He looks back expecting them to be right on his tail, but instead they're slowing down. He flies toward them and notices them panting.
"You good?" He asked.
"Mhm," came the exhausted response from Marz, "I'm done."
"Mmm, same. Can we go back." James asked, equally as exhausted.
Sparky nods and picks up his sons in his four arms. Their tails shorten and their legs appear again as he hugs them close to his chest. They immediately crash in their father's arms as he holds them. Sparky grins widely and slowly flies back to the lighthouse. He lands on the viewing balcony around the light and Zirconia is there to open the door to let them in.
They set their pups in their respected beds and wipe them down from the salt with warm wash clothes. Sparky tucks in Marz as Zirconia tucks in James and sets his little turtle next to him. They share a hug and a kiss as they proudly look at their sleeping babies which learned a new trick.
