It's all about 5 groups working on a project... or is it just that? Welp, hope you enjoy this silly fanfic I made. Please do drop a review so I can fix my mistakes and let me know about your suggestions. I'm slow in updating stories due to my normal life lol, but I will update as soon as I can. Anyways, enjoy!
It's Monday, and a ruler slapped on the table as the holder look at her students with cold eyes. It was serious and dangerous. It was Ms. Mendeleiev's aura after all.
"... And that is how you get the Standard deviation of a grouped data. Is there any questions?" She asked. The class stated any variation of "no" and "none" then proceed to its silent air. It was for her to continue to speak.
"Then good, which means that you are ready for your group activity."
And that made the whole class frozen, except for Chloe.
"The group project will be a Mini Research about the number of hours being spent on a social media app. There will be five groups: Team A to E. Each group will be assigned a social media app as the subject of the research." She announced, pressing a button on her laptop to proceed on the next slide that contains the context of the said project. "You don't need your basic knowledge about making formal research for this one, you will just input the introduction about the said social media app, then the listed answers from respondents with their full names, getting the frequency, presentation of data in a graph, and filling the table. I'll be delivering this format to the representative's tablets after you have gotten your teams." Ms. Mendeleiev clicks a button once again on her laptop for the screen to proceed to the next slide. A table was shown, with a lot of numbers as an example. The whole class felt they just lost their minds literally, that the feeling of mindlessness is in the air.
Mathematics... Please stop.
"This is an example, what is shown in those headers are the ones you will find. You have at least 30 respondents from other classes, so getting the class size won't be any problem. Do not forget to get the total of these numbers. Once you fill in them and so adding them all, you will have to get the Range, Mean Deviation, Variance, and Standard Deviation. When done, you will have to write down a written essay as a summary of the research." She stated. "Any more questions?"
The class goes silent, then Alya raised her hand bravely.
Ms. Mendeleiev called her, then Alya ask "Where we will be putting this activity and when is the Deadline?"
"You will have to print the whole thing and put it in a sliding folder, the front page is always your names and the title of the mini-research. The deadline will be on Friday. No excuses."
Adrien raised his hand. "Can we use our classmates as respondents too?"
"Yes, as long it's not in your group."
"Yes!" Nino murmured most softly.
"Any more questions? If none, then I will proceed on revealing your groupmates."
And this is where Marinette hated the most, where the last time her groupmates were Chloe and Sabrina. It was the worst day of her life though, but it was a pity for Nathaniel since his secret about his feelings for her got leaked. Oh sad, but no time for thinking about that memory because this can be her new nightmare.
Please not Chloe, please not Lila. She thought so.
"Team A will be consisting of Kurtzberg, Le Chien, and Ms. Bourgeois." She announced. Marinette praised silently while Chloe was in disgust. Chloe will inevitably outburst in these groupings, which is always expected.
"Ridiculous! Give me a worth of good group members, not those stinky and slouch potatoes!" Chloe outbursts. It was entirely annoying when she did that, but thankfully, Ms. Mendeleiev has brave guts of showing off the truth, especially to Chloe's attitude.
"I have picked these members in a fishbowl and there is no going back. Take a seat and contemplate about it. Since you're so high and tough, I will be assigning you as the representative of your team. Your assigned social media app is Instagram." She straightforwardly stated, and proceed to that group announcement again. Nathaniel and Kim were devastated. "How come can we get the format if she's going to be our representative?" Kim mumbled.
"Team B members will be Haprele, Cesaire, and Lavilliant. I will be assigning Cesaire as the representative of the team. Your assigned app is Twitter."
Alya looks not so disappointed and not surprised either. She sighed. "I guess we won't be a team right now."
"At least you have great group members. It'll be solid." She reassured. Both besties fist-bumped and giggled quietly.
"Team C members will be Lahiffe, Rossi, and Kante." Marinette was absolutely happy, while Nino praised that his with groupmates with Max. Lila was not in a good mood when she heard this. "I will be assigning Kante as the representative of the team. Your assigned social media app is Facebook."
"Team D are Couffaine, Raincomprix, and Bruel." As Juleka heard that, she felt scared about what's gonna come up next. Rose held her hand and beamed. "Don't worry, it'll be alright." It was that time that her nerves calmed down from that bright cute smile she gave her. Oh, Rose, with her beloved and innocent radiance.
"I will be assigning Raincomprix as the representative of the team. Your assigned social media app is Snapchat."
And of course, last but not the least, the last group. Before the teacher announced it, Marinette was totally in red mode. She's blushing furiously, can't help but squeal about it. In front of her was her crush, also wide-eyed, and grinning when he knew who's gonna be his groupmates. They are blessed, aren't they?
"And of course Team E are Agreste, Dupain-Cheng, and Kubdel."
Alix smirked. This is gonna be the best group ever, she thought so.
"I will be Assigning Agreste as the representative of the team, Your assigned social media app is Youtube. Do not forget its deadline on Friday and must in a sliding folder." She stated once more. She closed her laptop afterward, "You may now dismiss."
The classroom got noisy, some fixed their things, some chatter. While Ms. Mendeleiev fixed her things before she leaves, Lila approaches her gently like a shy type of student.
"Yes, Ms. Rossi, how can I help you?" The teacher asks sarcastically nicely.
"Umm... Is it okay that Marinette and— or Alix and I switch groups? Because I think it'll be better if I work with Adrien and that way, I can understand more about the lesson." She requested. "Adrien is my study partner and he helps me a lot with the lessons we have in our classes." Her voice is still that cute innocent child pitch in which annoys both Adrien and Marinette. Which made their day pretty annoyed too.
"Please don't" Adrien prayed in silence.
"Ms. Rossi, do you know what's the purpose of groupings in doing the school activities?" She asked. "Is to learn how to have teamwork with others even to the people you are not familiar with. As I said, I have picked these members in a fishbowl and there is no going back. If you are not satisfied with your groupmates, I'm always open to individual work. It's better to pass your activity than not doing anything." And therefore she left. Lila was irritated and so she grabs her bag and left, without any questions or plans that she can ask her groupmates. Chloe was one too, and so she left with Sabrina (with Sabrina telling her groupmates to chat with her instead.) The rest stayed in the classroom to talk about the project.
Alya, Mylene, and Rose met up in the middle of the classroom, started talking about the project. Nino approached Max, "How can we approach Lila in this?"
"The best way is to chat with her." Max, he said, as gets his bag. "Let's talk about it on the way outside." And so Nino Say goodbye to his friends and left with Max. Kim approached Nathaniel when Chloe left.
"Hey Nath, how are we going to do this project without Chloe's help?" He asked.
"Bold of you to assume that she'll help us in the first place." The redhead said.
And so, Ivan and Juleka talk for awhile. Alix and Adrien approached Marinette in her seat while she was fixing her bag. "Hey, Marinette! Care about to think about what we'll be our plans for the activity?" Adrien asked from behind. Marinette jumped from the surprise that her feet had reached her table and land on it.
"Woah, there. Are you okay?" He asked. She nervously giggled. He helps her to get down from the table by lending a hand.
"Yeah, ju-just surprised got, a bit." She stuttered. "I MEAN! Just go surprised for a bit... Uh... Just surprised—"
"Well, sorry about that." He apologized, with his habit of scratching his nape and smiling. "If I always come to surprise you always, I'm sorry."
"N-no! You don't have to apologize, I-I'm prettily in lo— SURPRISED! because I get to be easily SURPRISED!"
Alix watched the 2 "lovebirds" interact, forgetting that they have a project to do. She waited for them to realize, but it only ends up with giggles and laughs. She claps her hands, wakes the 2 dorks, and made them focus on her. "Project?" She asked with a high-pitched voice. And her 2 teammates came to realize what are they meeting for.
"Oh yeah! Project! Math! Stats! Class! I lost out of my mind." Marinette exclaimed, panicked about what's she going to do.
"Why not we talked about this in some places like the library?" Adrien requested.
"That sounds good to me." Alix requested.
Marinette thought about it, although for Alix it's common sense, it's just that Adrien suggested it and for sure she'll go his way.
"Oh yeah, we should!" Marinette replied. "So let's head out?" Marinette asked, both classmates nodded and head for their bags, they say goodbye to their friends, then they got out of their classroom. They walk by the second floor and observed some classes, and then towards the highest floor, the library.
When seated, Adrien took a look at his tablet. As the representative of the team, he expects that Ms. Mendeleiev will give him the format of the activity.
It was odd that Ms. Mendeleiev gave them the format of the activity. Yes, she was very strict in a lot of projects but it was rare for her to gave format to the students.
He looks at his mail, and yes he saw the document of the format. He takes a look at it but saw... Only the said context at its places and tables. No given formulas, that's how Mendeleiev she is.
Alix and Marinette take a look at the document too. They were sitting on each side of Adrien.
"Thankfully, we have notes," Alix commented. Adrien and Marinette looked at her as if they were implementing something.
"Oh... Right. Clumsy late-commer girl and Model schedule-photoshoot-anytime boy." Alix realized.
"Well, I have notes but not that full," Marinette said.
"So do I," Adrien added.
This is going to be a nice group, hopefully to others too.
