Hi guys! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. This chapter would've gone up yesterday, but I was gone a lot longer than I thought so it got a little delayed, haha. I hope you're all excited for this chapter—I know I am! :) Enjoy!

I just want to take a moment to address these two anonymous reviews! I appreciate you guys too! :)

Kungfukittycat: I hope this chapter was worth the wait for you! I put a lot of energy into making sure I was happy with it before I posted! Enjoy, and thanks for the review! :)

Chole: I'm glad you're enjoying the story! I absolutely LOVE Han/Serena moments, and I'm glad you enjoy them too. Why aren't you interested in Luke/Serena, if I might ask? Is there anything I can do to make them more interesting? So far, my plan was to make them be very naïve and uncertain about relationships and the real world, then after ESB and all the challenges they go through, they'll both realize how real life works and become more realistic in their expectations and (hopefully) interesting, as a result. Let me know if there's anything I can do to make them better! I love hearing suggestions! :) Thanks for the review!

Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars. Only my OC('s).

Chapter 8: Captured

With Lando at the front, the Rebels were led through a small portion of Bespin. Lando was clearly eager to tell them about the success of his mining operation. He was especially interested in impressing Leia, who—from the way Serena saw it, at least—looked uncomfortable having the man show such interest in her.

Serena attempted to pay more attention to what Lando was saying, but limping behind them wasn't easy, even with Chewie to lean on for support. She honestly didn't care so much about what Lando was saying while she could feel the pain in her leg flare up with each step she took, even though she was barely putting pressure on it.

Fortunately, Lando was leading them to the med bay, and while the journey was taking a little longer than she liked due to his constant chatter, she was grateful he was considerate enough to help her out. When they stopped at the entrance to the med bay, she almost collapsed with relief. Fortunately, Chewie kept her steady.

"Here we are. Hopefully, they'll be able to get your leg fixed." Lando smiled at Serena. While she knew he always attempted to be a ladies man, she also knew that Lando wasn't that bad of a guy once you got to know him.

Serena nodded, smiling gratefully, "Thanks. I appreciate it."

He nodded and opened the blast door, and they were immediately approached by a medical droid, "Hello, Master Calrissian. How may I assist you?"

"This is Serena, old friend of mine. She could use some help."

The droid nodded, and approached Serena, "Hello, miss, I am C7-D8, medical service droid. How may I assist you?"

She gestured to her leg, "A pillar fell on my leg, and I think it's broken."

The droid nodded once again, and Serena noted that it made him seem almost human-like, "We will have to scan your leg to determine what treatment would work best. If you would follow me…?"

Chewie growled, "Will you be alright here, Serena?"

"I'll be fine, big guy. Don't worry about me."

Han frowned, "You sure, sis?"

She nodded, then reconsidered when she felt the pain in her leg once again, "Actually, I might need a little help walking over there."

C7-D8 interrupted, "Miss, I will be able to assist you with anything you might need."

"Then, I guess I'll be fine, Han. Don't worry." She paused, because he still didn't look happy, "I'll call you if I need anything."

Han finally nodded. It looked like he wanted to say something else, but Lando immediately distracted him.

While Han was distracted with speaking to his little sister, Lando seized the opportunity to be alone with the Princess and pulled her to him, clearly attempting to charm her. Leia, however, looked as if she didn't appreciate his attention. She looked pleadingly at Serena, Han, and Chewie, silently begging them to help her. Serena covered her mouth to hide her smile as Han stormed over, clearly jealous even though Leia didn't appreciate Lando's attention.

If Lando noticed Leia's disinterest, he didn't show it, instead smiling at her and asking, "Shall we continue the tour?"

Leia grimaced a little, but she didn't want to be rude so she attempted to smile at Lando. However, that smile caused Han to become more agitated and he immediately knew he had to interrupt them at any cost.

Han didn't hesitate, grabbing Leia's hand and pulling her closer to him, answering, "That's a great idea, Lando."

Lando didn't look pleased at Han's interruption, but that didn't affect him for long, as his charming smile quickly returned and he led them out of the med bay, chattering away. Han turned to Serena and called out, "Call me if you need anything." Before the blast doors closed behind him.

Serena grinned as she watched them walk away, then moved over to the medical droid, allowing it to assist her in limping to a cot for her to lie on while it ran some tests.

She simply sat, unwilling to lie down considering it would mean moving her leg more than she already had been. The girl waited for the medical droid to return and, fortunately, it didn't take long. Not that she expected it would, considering she was the only patient.

The droid began scanning her leg. The process was quick, and the droid informed her that her leg was indeed broken. It explained what exactly was wrong, but in truth she didn't really pay attention. She simply wanted to know what the treatment would be.

"I shall bring in a small bacta tank for you to soak your leg. It should only take about an hour to heal, and after that I recommend rest to recover the strength in your leg."

She nodded, and the droid left to bring in a miniature bacta tank. Serena was thankful she wouldn't have to be completely soaked in bacta like Luke after they found him on Hoth. The idea of being in nothing but her underwear with the possibility that Lando would return to check on her wasn't really appealing.

Luke. There she went, thinking about him again. I wonder what he's doing. I miss him.

She almost thought she could feel his presence, and sensed he missed her as well. She wondered if this was due to the Force or if she was merely imagining it. She thought it was more likely the second, considering the only time she'd successfully used the Force was to rescue Luke. She'd often wondered how she was able to do that, considering she'd received no training. Perhaps it was the sheer force of her will.

The medical droid returned, carrying a tank of bacta long enough for her to place her leg in. She carefully rolled up her pants to her thigh and placed her leg in the tank. Almost immediately, the pain in her leg faded, and she sighed with relief, both from the pain and knowing she would be able to walk once again without assistance in only an hour. She closed her eyes and relaxed, knowing she'd be stuck here for some time.

Darth Vader was not a patient man.

Calrissian had sent his subordinates to report to Vader and announce the arrival of the Millennium Falcon and its crew, which only consisted of Captain Solo, Lieutenant Solo, the wookiee, the Princess, and a droid. He acknowledged the news, and the terrified men quickly found an excuse to flee the room, clearly uncomfortable to be around the Dark Lord for long.

His only focus—the sole driving factor for his presence on this pitiful mining colony was to retrieve his son. Luke belonged with him.

He felt the familiar rush of fury as he remembered the reason he had not known about Luke sooner.

Kenobi.

Even though he'd finally put an end to Kenobi's life two years ago on the Death Star, his former master still haunted him even now. He knew Kenobi would never tell Luke his true parentage, and so, as a result of Kenobi's lies and deceit, his son was actively working against the Empire with his rebel allies.

"My lord, Lando Calrissian is attempting to contact us."

Vader turned slowly and nodded, indicating that they put the transmission through.

Calrissian appeared before him, looking increasingly conflicted and agitated, "Lord Vader." He immediately changed expressions at seeing the dark lord, attempting to mask his feelings, though there was no fooling Vader, "I just left the Rebels in their rooms, except for Serena Solo. She was injured and asked for treatment. I didn't want them to get suspicious, so I took her to the med bay."

Lieutenant Solo. He knew of her. Just as he felt from the Princess, he knew the girl had an affinity to the Force, though she was also untrained and her presence was faint. Still, Vader knew she had a connection with his son—how close of a connection he was not sure, though he had his suspicions.

"Very well, Calrissian. I will send the stormtroopers to deal with Lieutenant Solo. Bring the others to me."

"I—" He seemed ready to argue, but quickly realized his place, "Yes, Lord Vader."

"And Calrissian?"

Lando froze, and looked at Vader with unmasked fear, "Yes, Lord Vader?"

"See that you remember where your loyalties lie."

With that, Vader cut off the transmission, and took his place at the head of the table. He turned to the two stormtroopers at his side.

"Bring the girl to me. Alive."

"Yes, my lord." They both nodded, and immediately headed for the med bay.

Vader simply waited, and knew that with every passing second, his son was being drawn closer to him.

Serena was getting bored. Her hour was almost up—there were only about ten more minutes to go. She hadn't been able to do anything, being forced to wait until her leg had completely healed. She didn't even feel the pain anymore, though her leg felt a little numb.

The medical droid barely spoke to her, only announcing every ten minutes how much longer she had to wait, or briefly answering a question she asked. The silence was becoming unbearable, and she was glad her time was almost up. This was getting ridiculous.

Finally, something happened, though she would instantly regret wishing for some excitement. The medical droid instantly stood up and walked to the door. Serena assumed at first it was to find something to remove the bacta. However, when she heard voices she paused and listened, straining to hear their conversation. It must be Han, Leia or Chewie coming to check up on me.

"—how may I assist you?" The droid questioned.

"Get out of the way." That was definitely not her brother, or any of her friends. Serena's heart began racing, suddenly feeling the same oppressive darkness she felt on Hoth. She wondered how she could have missed it; it was so powerful—so dark. She had been so distracted by the pain in her leg and other concerns, she hadn't even sensed it. Inwardly scolding herself, she looked at her leg, and pulled it out from the bacta. Sure, it was a few minutes early, but she doubted that would cause too much damage. However, when she tried to move her leg, it was almost completely numb. The droid must have put something in the bacta to help with the pain. Unfortunately, that now meant that she was completely helpless. She couldn't even run away.

She flinched, and reached for her blaster at her belt, and attempted to unhook it—

Only to find it wasn't there.

Damn. She quickly scanned the room, noticing her blaster resting on the table on the other side of the room. She stretched her arm, praying she would be able to reach it, but the blaster was just out of her reach.

The footsteps increased in intensity, and she knew they were drawing closer. She glanced at her leg, useless from the bacta. She couldn't exactly move, and she didn't have her blaster. This was bad.

Still stretching, she closed her eyes in defeat. There was no way she was getting out of this situation.

She heard the blast doors open, and watched as two stormtroopers closed in on her, pointing their blasters right at her.

"Don't move, rebel."

She felt so helpless, unable to do anything other than watch helplessly as one of the stormtroopers grabbed her blaster and clipped it to his belt. She felt her heart rate spike up once again as the stormtrooper without her blaster moved over to her, "Get up."

When she felt him grab a hold of her arm, she snapped. Instantly, all her fear and rage at the Empire spiked and she shouted, "Get off!" And attempted to push the man away.

He hurled through the air and crashed into the wall. Serena's eyes widened as the watched the display. She hadn't even thought about what she was doing. She just didn't want him anywhere near her.

Serena gasped, and looked at her hands, How did I do that?

While she was distracted, the other stormtrooper immediately rushed toward her and hit her on the back of her head with his blaster, stunning her and causing her to fall off of the cot and onto the floor. She collapsed with a thud, and was unable to find her footing due to the still numb leg.

"You're lucky Lord Vader wants you alive." The stormtrooper whispered to her as he lifted her up from the ground. His companion finally found his feet after the unexpected assault from the trapped smuggler, and grabbed her other arm, dragging her out of the med bay.

Serena hung her head. She was still a little stunned, and didn't even have to will to struggle. What was the point? She just hoped Han and the others were able to escape. Her leg was beginning to tingle, and she knew it wouldn't be much longer until her leg recovered.

What did it matter now, though? Vader was here. She knew she didn't stand a chance against the Sith Lord.

The stormtroopers led her through Bespin, and she noticed all the citizens watching with open fear on their faces as she was led through the corridors. How long had the Empire been here?

Lando. He must have known they were here. That traitor. She scowled. How could he betray them? Weren't they old 'friends'?

The stormtroopers led her to a large blast door and opened it, dragging her through. She stopped breathing. At the head of the table stood Darth Vader, his raspy breathing the only sound in the room. Boba Fett stood at Vader's side, blaster ready, along with a few stormtroopers lined up in the room. Han, Leia and Chewbacca were also in the room, looking at her with open concern and dismay. Lando was there, as well, but he refused to look at her, instead eyeing the floor with a little too much interest.

Traitor. She silently accused.

The stormtroopers carrying her immediately dropped her, and guarded the door, preventing her escape. Han immediately began to move toward his sister, open concern and anger plain to see on his face. However, as soon as he moved Boba Fett pointed his blaster at the smuggler, daring him to continue moving toward his sister. Han froze, though he looked reluctant, and seemed to be debating to move anyway.

Serena shook her head at Han, silently telling him not to risk it, and struggled to her feet, determined not to let Vader see her weakness, though she wondered if he could hear her racing heartbeat. She could hear it clearly—the rhythmic beat rang through her ears and sounded much faster than usual. Her leg was still weak, but she was able to stand up, and look Vader in the eye.

The Dark Lord remained silent, examining her with slight interest. She simply stared back, attempting to control her rapid breathing and her trembling. What was going to happen to her?

"Lieutenant Solo." Vader finally addressed her, though the end to the silence only terrified her more, "I am pleased you were able to join us."

"Lord Vader." She managed to get the words out without letting anyone hear the fear in her voice, which impressed her. However, she just knew she wasn't fooling Vader.

"You alright, sis?" Han blurted out, and drew the attention from Serena to him.

She froze, and stared at her brother. He knew in that moment that she was not alright—that she was absolutely terrified. But she refused to let anyone else see her fear. She looked up at Vader again, almost in a challenge, "I'm fine."

"I suggest then, that you savor these last few moments, Lieutenant Solo." Vader interrupted, the threat clear in his voice. Then Vader signaled to his stormtroopers and they grabbed her once again.

"Wait!" Han called out, being restrained by a few more stormtroopers. Leia looked terrified, and watched in fear as Serena was forced closer to the door. Chewbacca roared in fury, and was only calmed when Boba Fett pointed his weapon at the wookiee, though Chewie still didn't look happy. Leia just looked resigned and sad, seeming to know what Serena was going to go through.

"Serena!" She heard Han's last cry as the doors shut. She felt tears prickle in her eyes, but blinked them away, knowing they wouldn't solve anything.

Vader led them through the halls of Bespin, eventually taking her to an empty room that looked a lot like an interrogation room. The stormtroopers once again threw her in the room, and waited for further orders from Vader.

As Serena once again attempted to stand on her weak legs, she heard Vader say, "Leave us."

The sound of the blast door sliding closed indicated that she was completely alone with Vader, and that thought terrified her more than anything. She turned slowly, and faced Vader, forced to look up to see his face. He was a lot taller than she thought, and she was even more intimidated. She attempted to hide her feelings by glaring at the ground—desperate to do anything to hide the fear in her eyes.

Vader didn't need to see her to know she was afraid. Whether she was aware of it or not, the girl was broadcasting her fear through the Force, much like the Princess had while being interrogated on the Death Star. He knew Skywalker would sense the fear of his… friend? Lover? He wondered what the girl was to the boy.

Serena dared to glance up at the Emperor's Right Hand and immediately wished she hadn't. He towered over her, and it didn't help that she had to look up to completely see his face. The Lieutenant attempted to return his cool glare, but it was unsettling for her.

Vader easily returned her gaze, knowing how uncomfortable it made her to do so. They stared at one another for a moment—Vader attempting to intimidate the girl, and Serena attempting to show Vader she wasn't afraid.

Finally, Vader broke the tense silence, "I am led to believe you have information on Skywalker."

She wasn't surprised he was interested in Luke. He was training to be a Jedi, and blew up the Death Star. Clearly, that would be a cause for concern in the Empire. She knew she could never betray Luke though, and continued glaring at Vader defiantly, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Vader, clearly impatient with her stubborn act, clenched his fist. Immediately, she felt a pressure around her throat and gasped. She was still able to breathe, but it was much more difficult to take in enough oxygen. Her breathing picked up, and she attempted to swallow, which only made it more uncomfortable.

"Where is Skywalker?" He demanded, though truthfully he didn't need any information she gave him. With the way she broadcast her fear through the Force, he knew Skywalker would sense her fear and immediately rush to her and his other Rebel friends' rescue. Anger at how his friends were treated would drive the boy closer to the Dark Side before Vader even had to speak.

He saw the girl's eyes widen, and her clear discomfort at the lack of air, but she still remained stubborn. She clenched her jaw and forced out the words, "Like I'd tell you."

"I find myself lacking in patience, Solo." Vader clenched his fist tighter, and he saw her eyes widen and her hand fly to her throat. He heard her struggle for air and let her remain that way for a moment before releasing her. The girl immediately collapsed onto the ground, coughing and immediately sucking in a lungful of air.

"Like I said…" She said breathlessly, in-between her coughs, "I don't know….and if I did…I wouldn't tell you…"

Serena braced herself for him to strangle her once more, but the attack never came. She swallowed, wincing as she felt her throat protest its recent abuse.

Vader remained silent, his fist remaining un-clenched for the time being. He sensed no lie from the girl, but he saw something in her eyes every time he mentioned Skywalker. He had once felt the same way for someone, long ago during the Clone Wars—

Immediately, Vader changed the track of his thoughts, angry that this simple girl managed to bring back memories he thought were long since buried in the past. He had to make her pay for what she had unknowingly made him feel, even for a brief moment, and knew just what would hurt her the most.

"Very well, Lieutenant Solo. It you are so reluctant to answer me, perhaps Captain Solo will be more…cooperative."

Serena sensed the threat in the comment, and her eyes widened. She no longer felt fear for herself, but fear for her brother, "No! You can't. Please—he doesn't know anything about this!"

"Take her away." Vader called out to the stormtroopers, who immediately entered and grabbed the struggling girl, beginning to drag her away.

As she was dragged away roughly by the two stormtroopers, she called back, "No! Han—please! No!"

Vader felt absolutely nothing, hearing her desperate cries. All that mattered to him was bringing Skywalker to him…and he knew Skywalker would sense his friend's pain and come to their rescue.

Skywalker would fall into his trap, and Vader's plan would finally be complete.

Ahhh. Poor Serena…and poor Han. We all know what's coming for him. Ughhh, this chapter was actually really fun to write. I absolutely LOVE Darth Vader and hope I got his character down. He's kind of difficult to write sometimes. I hope you all enjoyed this angsty chapter, and don't worry. Luke will be in the next one ;) Though it may not be as happy as you think.

I hope you all enjoyed it, and if you did (or didn't), why not let me know in a review? ;)

Thanks for reading! :)
