Chapter 9 : The show must go on
She almost fell off the railing. "I oh my gosh I have a bounty." Now Rinka has to worry about the bounty hunters and marines that will come for her in the future.
Law only smirked at her when he saw Rinka's reaction when she saw her bounty and started teasing her about it.
"Wow Rinka I'm really impressed with your first bounty. You're now a wanted criminal."
But Rinka was too depressed to even care about Law's comments .
When Rinka was out of her depressed state she started walking down onto the deck where the lady was standing at.
"What the hell do you want from me?"Rinka said while she gritted her teeth.
"I want you to sing at my hotel."The lady responded with a smile on her face.
"You want me to do what?"Rinka asks with widened eyes not knowing if she heard that right.
"I own one of the nicest hotels on this island and I always have a live performance every month in it. But one of my lead singers has been missing for a few days and I don't know where she is. And I really need someone to take her place. Your voice was amazing when you sang a lullaby to that crying baby. I will pay you a lot of money and your whole crew can stay in my hotel for as long as they want."
Before Rinka could say anything she could hear Law's voice coming from behind her.
"When is your next live show?,"Law asks with a smirk.
"2 days,"the lady responded with another smile.
"Alright lady. The log pose sets in 3 days. But before I agree to let one of my crewmates sing at your hotel. I need to know how much you are willing to pay her to do so."
"500,000 beri! Please I'm desperate. "she pleaded.
Law only smirks at the pleading lady",if you are so desperate then you won't mind paying triple what you just offered."
The lady then nodded to Law", Fine I pay whatever you want I just need a singer right this instant." Law responded to her with a smirk. "So do we have a deal? You pay me 1,500,000 beri and I make one of my crewmates perform at your hotel."
"Yes, I agree with those terms,"the lady said nervously.
"Then it's settled, but could you wait there for a minute while my crewmates pack their stuff."
"Sure,"was the only word she said while patiently waiting on the dock.
Rinka never felt more degrading in her life when Law just treated her like some object rather than a human being. "Why did you make a deal like that? You didn't even ask me if I actually wanted to perform at her hotel."Rinka said while giving Law an angry stare.
"Oh sorry I forgot to ask. Do you want to do this?"Law asked with a smirk.
"NO," she shouted.
"That's too bad because I have already made the deal with her."He said with a smirk.
"Fine,"she mumbled to him. "But can you keep this a secret from the crew about how we're getting to stay in a nice hotel. I don't want to sing in front of them,"Rinka said with gritted teeth.
Law nodded. "Bepo!" Rinka was surprised when he called his name as she didn't even realize the bear was here. She then saw Bepo waking up from his nap.
"Yes captain You call for me," Bepo said with a yawn.
"Tell the crew to come here on the deck. We're going somewhere."
"Yes Captain!" Bepo said while he ran into the submarine to fetch the crew.
"Hey captain, why did you call for us?" Penguin asks.
Law responded with a smirk"I decided to treat you guys with a few nights at the nicest hotel on this island."
The crew started cheering and jumping around in excitement.
"What is the special occasion?"Penguin asked.
Law responded to Penguin's question with a smirk",our little swordswoman has just got her first bounty."
"Really how much?"Shachi asked.
Law replied "50,000,000 beri."
"Wow, Rinka I'm so proud of you,"Zane said with a smile.
Rinka shouted at him"Shut up , I don't want a stupid bounty on my head."
"Hey are you guys ready yet?"the middle age lady said to the pirates.
"Who is she?"Thorn asks.
"That lady is going to lead us to the hotel where we will be staying,"Rinka responded.
"Rinka shouted back at the lady ",Yeah! We're almost done."
When the Heart Pirates were done packing they started following the woman so she can show them where the hotel is.
When the lady stopped, the Heart Pirates could see an enormous hotel that looked more like a resort.
"Wow, it's huge."Rinka exclaimed while her jaw was dropped.
"Are we really staying here?"Zane asks with a happy expression on his face.
Law gave him a little smirk"Yep, and it's all thanks to Rinka. She is the reason why we're staying here."
The whole crew shouted at Rinka ",Thank you!"
",No, you shouldn't thank me,"Rinka said to the crew while she was blushing.
She then turned her direction where Law was standing at then gave him a deadly stare.
But Law only smirks at her then says",but it's the truth."
When the Heart Pirates walked in the hotel lobby it was even more beautiful on the inside.
The lady who owned the fancy hotel told one of the staff",these are the people that I called in about. Do you have their rooms ready?"
The employee responded"Yes, Miss Mitsui, The maids have already prepared their rooms ."
After all of the Heart Pirates went to their rooms, Miss Mitsui grabbed Rinka's hand and then started leading her out of the lobby. When Rinka went into the big room she could see a stage that had instruments on it and also had lights surrounding it.
Rinka was in shock when she saw how big the stage was and all of the seats that surrounded it.
"Are you sure you want me to sing in front of all of these people?"Rinka said with wider eyes.
"Yes, when I heard your voice, I knew it was only destiny for you to perform here. "
Rinka responded with an uncertain look on her face", but I never did stuff like this in my life."
Miss Mitsui replied with a smile ",That's why you need to start practicing the song and dance coordination."
"But I'm not much of a dancer,"Rinka said, hoping Miss Mitsui changed her mind about making her perform.
Miss Mitsui replied to Rinka's statement "Don't worry sweetheart, the dance routine is pretty easy to learn. We just need to work on your singing. It's a good thing we got someone who can help you with that.
Then when you are done learning the lyrics to the song, you will practice the song with the other lead singers."
"I can't believe Law is making me do this."Rinka mumbled to herself.
After Rinka was done mumbling to herself, Miss Mitsui started introducing her to one of the lead singers.
Rinka saw a tall girl with red hair and was wearing a pink tank top and black shorts.
"This is Amber, she's going to help you with your singing ."
"So you're the replacement for Nara," Amber said with a smirk.
"I got a question, what happened to her?"Rinka asks the smirking girl.
Amber responded "I'm not really sure, she just disappeared a few days ago. Me and Lisa are starting to get a little worried, but the show must go on.
Rinka asks the red-haired girl "How many singers are in this group?"
"It's only me and Lisa because Nara is missing ." Amber said with a sad expression on her face.
"Miss Mitsui, I don't think this girl you pick up on the streets is qualified to do this,"Amber said with an disgusted look on her face.
"I don't even want to do a stupid performance, my captain is making me,"Rinka said in an angry tone.
"Wait, did you say captain?"Amber asks in a shocked tone.
Miss Mitsui says, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, Rinka is actually in a Pirate crew."
"Now if you don't mind, would you please start preparing Miss Rinka for the big show that's only in 2 days."Miss Mitsui said while she was leaving the room.
"Okay Pirate Lady the first thing you need to do is take off your sword,"Amber said in a bitter tone. Rinka then angrily dropped her sword on the hard wooden ground which made a loud bang when it landed .
"It's Rinka, not Pirate Lady ."Rinka said with her arms crossed.
"Okay miss Rinka,show me what you can do,"Amber said with an impatient look on her face.
Rinka looked at her confusedly ."What do you mean?"
Amber gave her even more of an impatient look."sing to me, I need to know how good your voice is."
"Oh"was all she said when she started singing.
While Rinka was singing she noticed Amber's facial expression started to turn more of a surprised look rather than an angry one . "Who taught you to sing like that?"Amber said while she was getting closer to Rinka's face.
"No one, it was a song that my master used to sing to me when I was a child,"Rinka said while she backed away from Amber.
Amber's face then started lightening up in hope", You might have more potential than I thought," Amber said while she led Rinka to a different room.
"Where are you taking me?"Rinka asks.
"First you need to meet Lisa, she will teach you the dance routine ."
"Hey Lisa, this is Rinka, she is going to be Nara's replacement for the next show."Amber said while she was pointing to Rinka. Rinka could see a blond girl wearing black tank top and a red leather jacket over it and was also wearing a white pleated skirt. "So you're going to be Nara's replacement,"Lisa said while she examined Rinka.
Rinka was a little uncomfortable when Lisa started getting too close to her face.
"I like what I see,"Lisa said after she was done whispering to Amber.
"So Rinka, have you ever danced before?"Lisa asks the red-eyed swordswoman.
Rinka replied with a sheepish smile "No, I only train for combat."
"Well it's better than nothing,"Lisa said while she sighs .
"Okay repeat these dance moves, sway your body then hold out one arm like this", Lisa then showed how. "Then turn your head like this."
"After you're done with turning your head, you let out your arms just like if you were flying.
At the part you hold out your arms then the background dancers will carry you down the platform. When the background dancers put all three of us down on the stage, that's when we started singing. And those are the dance moves on how we're going to start the show, the rest we just sing until the whole show is over."
"Now it's your turn to try,"Lisa said to Rinka while she was getting off the stage.
"Okay that seems easy enough,"Rinka said when she went on the stage.
Rinka was talking to herself",you can do this, just pretend it's sword fighting."
Then Rinka started to do all of the dance moves that Lisa just did.
When Rinka finally mastered the dance moves that Lisa showed her, they started working on her singing.
"Well done Rinka, now you should start learning the lyrics to the song we're going to sing at the next performance. "I can't do this,"Rinka said when she heard how long and complicated the song was.
"Yes you can, if we stay up all night."
Before Rinka could say no to Amber. She starts imagining what Law will do to her when she doesn't go through with this.
Rinka let out a big sigh",Fine let's do this."

"Hey Rinka where have you been? you look exhausted,"Penguin said when he saw Rinka walk in the dining room with dark eye bags under her eyes.
"I was working on something," Rinka said while she took a seat next to Lucas.
"What were you working on?"Penguin asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Just some plant stuff,"she said while she was hiding her face from Penguin.
"Okay just a little curious,"Penguin said after he took another sip on his glass of water.
"Hey Bepo, where is Law?" Rinka asks when she didn't see Law in the dining room. Bepo replied "I think he's still sleeping in his room." Rinka started to mumble to herself when Bepo told her that,"That little ass hole, he's just sleeping while I'm working my ass off all night for that stupid performance.
Rinka came out of her thoughts when someone was trying to get her attention." "Hey Rinka, do you want to go drinking with us at the pool,"Zane and Lucas ask, with excited looks on their faces.
"Sorry you guys, I already have plans,'' Rinka said that she started leaving the same room where all of the Heart Pirate we're currently at.
"I rather die than let them know the real reason why I'm staying up so late,'Rinka mumbled to herself while she was walking in the same direction where the room she was in all night. "Hey Amber, I'm ready for rehearsal,"Rinka said when she saw her.
"That's great news to hear, I just need to tell the backup dancers you're here, but before I do that you need to change your outfit into something more stylish,"Amber said with a smirk.
Rinka then started looking down in shame "But I don't own any nice clothes."
"Don't worry about that, you can borrow one of my dresses,"then Amber pulled out a nice pretty dress from her bag.
Rinka saw a black dress that had silver sequins on the top and also had a white belt in the middle of it.
When Amber handed the dress to Rinka, She then went into a changing room to try it on.
"The dress is a little too flashy for my taste but it's only for one night,"Rinka said to herself when she saw her reflection in the mirror.
When She started heading out of the dressing room, she could see Lisa and a group of background dancers right next to her. "Everyone, this is Rinka , she will be Nara's replacement for tomorrow's performance,"Lisa said while she started introducing Rinka to the dancers. Amber then clapped her hands to get everyone's attention ",Alright, ladies and gentlemen we don't have enough time to talk, we need to start rehearsal right now."

"Hey Penguin , what do you think Rinka is doing?" Zane asks.
Penguin replied "Why are you asking that all of a sudden?"
"She was acting kinda strange at breakfast and she looked like she didn't sleep at all last night."
Penguin nodded "Yeah, you do have a point." "I bet she was reading all night again,"Thorn suggested.
As the 4 men were about done talking they noticed Bepo and Lucas walking up to them holding up a piece of paper.
"Hey Lucas what is that?"Shachi asked when he saw the flyer.
Lucas replied "There's going to be a live performance tomorrow night and I think it would be a fun idea to go," "Yeah it looks like a lot of fun"Bepo added.
Thorn shouted "Hell yeah I'm in."
"So then it's settled, we're going to this live show tomorrow night,"Shachi loudly said and everyone else nodded in agreement. "Hey Shachi,should we invite Law to go with us."Bepo suggested. Shachi responded "Sure I don't care."

"Amber, can I take a little break? We have been practicing for 8 hours already and my throat is starting to hurt,"Rinka complained while practicing the song. Amber signs"Fine but don't take too long." After Rinka walked down from the stage, she then started heading to the door so she could go to the lobby to get a drink of water. As she walked to the bar her Kenbunshoku haki was telling her she was being followed. As she started observing her surroundings even more she could see a familiar smirk that she knows too well.
"Just my luck, Law just had to be here,"Rinka angrily mumbled to herself.
"So how is rehearsal doing,"Law said with a smirk.
Rinka gave Law a cold stare "It's torture that's what it is."
Law only smirked at her even more when she said that.
Rinka shouted at her smirking captain"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, while I work my ass off."
"But look at the bright side,you're going to be amazing when you perform in front of all those people. And I just can't wait to watch my little swordswoman singing in such a beautiful dress."
When Law mentioned the dress she now realized she still had the dress on.
Rinka then started blushing ",shut up you're not allowed to go to the show."
Law only smirks at her",as your captain, I'm pretty sure you can't tell me what to do."
"Have I ever told you how much I hate you a lot?"she said with a twitching eyebrow.
Law replied"Yeah you actually did a lot when we first met"
"Whatever,I'm going back to rehearsal,"Rinka said while angrily stomping back to the same room where she had been all night.

"Where have you been? You've been gone for more than an hour"Amber said when Rinka walked in the room. Rinka let out a loud sign "I was talking to my captain."
"What were you guys even talking about?"Amber asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing really important, just some small talk,"Rinka said while she was trying to hide her blushing face.
Amber signs "Okay, but next time don't take so long. You still need to practice the lyrics for the song you'll be singing tomorrow."
Rinka still couldn't believe Law was making her do this but she decided to suck it up then did what Amber told her to do.

After Rinka practiced her singing for the whole night she started changing back into her regular clothes then started heading to the dining room for breakfast. ,Rinka let out a loud yawn when she went into the dining room where the Heart Pirates were currently at. When Law saw Rinka's tired appearance he gave her a little smirk ."Rough night."
"You do not know the half of it,"she responded while she was rubbing her eyes.
As Rinka was trying to stay awake she accidently fell asleep on her food.
No one bothers to wake her up since they just assume it was another narcolepsy attack.
After Rinka was done eating her breakfast,she then took a little nap on one of the couches in the hotel lobby before she went back to rehearsal. When Rinka woke up she realized she overslept and she was late for practice. So she started running at full speed to the room where she is supposed to be 2 hours ago.
"Where the hell have you been? You're freaking late."Amber scolded Rinka like a parent scolding their child. "Sorry I lost track of time. I just took a little nap because I hadn't slept in 2 days,"she said with a tired look in her eyes.
Amber let out a loud sign "You can sleep as much as you want, after you're done with the show." Rinka let out another loud yawn",Okay let's do this."

Hey Shachi,the show starts in 10 minutes, go get Thorn,Lucas,and Zane from their rooms." Penguin said excitedly. "Man, I can't wait to see all of the pretty performers,"Shachi said with a blushing face. "Come in," Zane said when Shachi knocked on their door. Shachi asks the 3 men "Are you guys ready, the show starts in 10 minutes?" Thorn responded ",Yes we're ready, we just need to get Bepo and Law."
"Hey Law and Bepo are you 2 ready, we're about to leave,"Lucas asked when he went into their room. Law only smirked at him,"yeah we're ready."
As the 7 Heart Pirates started heading to the direction where the big show is, they noticed there were already people lining up outside of the big doors. "Man I didn't know it was going to be that busy," Thorn said when he saw the long line. Bepo saw someone who looked familiar, "Wait isn't that Logan in the front of the line." "Oh yeah it is, I wonder if he would let us cut in front of him,"Thorn suggested with a grin.
Thorn then waves his hand to Logan",Hey Logan." The Heart Pirates then started walking up to Logan. "Are you guys here for the performance too?" Logan asked when he saw everyone. "Yeah we came kinda late so could we cut in front of you,"Penguin said with a smile. "Sure I don't care,"when Logan said that everyone got in front of him.
When the Heart Pirates get seated they also order some beers from one of the waiters who works there. As the Heart Pirates were drinking on their glasses of beer ,they noticed the lights had suddenly turned off. When the lights were turned off, music started playing. As the music was playing the lights came back on then started shining at three girls that had a microphone in their hands.
Before the 3 girls started singing, the backup dancers picked them up then put them down on the stage. "Wait, isn't that Rinka?"Penguin asks when he got a closer look at one of the singers.
Thorn shouted with his jaw dropped "Holy shit, it is."
"Why is she performing?"Lucas asks with his eyes leaving his face.
Law only smirks at the group of shocked pirates.
"Law did you know about this? Shachi asks when he saw Law's smirking face.
"A little bit,"Law said with more of a smirk. "I don't get it, why is she one of them?"Zane asked in a confused tone. Law now explains why Rinka is one of the performers", Do you remember how I told you guys we're staying here because of Rinka." Everyone nodded then Law continued ",The lady who owns this place offers us to stay at her hotel for free, if Rinka performs for her."
"I can't believe Rinka actually agreed to it."Zane said with widened eyes . "She didn't, I forced her to." Law said with a smirk. When the Heart Pirates were done talking , they started to watch the show that one of their crewmates is in.
Amber was the first one to start singing, then Lisa and Rinka backed her up with their voices. Then Lisa started singing while Amber and Rinka were dancing.
Then finally Rinka was leading the song while Amber and Lisa were dancing behind her.
When Rinka was done with her cue of the song , then all three of the girls started singing in perfect unison. When the song ended,the 3 singers started heading closer to the end of the stage then started bowing to the cheering crowd.
As Rinka was bowing,she could hear people calling her name. When she heard her name being called she then slowly lifted up her head. In her terror she could see Penguin,Shachi,Zane,Lucas,and Bepo standing up and clapping for her while Law ,Thorn ,and Logan were just sitting down drinking. When Rinka saw her crewmates, she quickly ran off the stage with a blushing face. "Hey Rinka, where are you going?"Lisa asks when she sees Rinka leaving . Rinka shouted while she ran", I'll be right back. I need to do something really quick."
When Rinka finally reached the table to where the Heart Pirates were currently sitting she started yelling"Law, I told you not to tell the crew about this!"
"I didn't, they invited me to come,"he said with a smirk.
"You were amazing,"Penguin said with a blushing face. "So that's why you looked so tired all the time. I just thought you were having problems with your narcolepsy ,"Zane exclaimed. "Oh yeah..remember that one time before how you thought your cooking had killed her, when she had a narcoleptic attack while she was eating, it took us a whole day to convince you and Jerry that you guys didn't kill her with the food you cook for her." Thorn said with a light chuckle. Rinka nodded at his statement,"yep, and now I'm done with my end of the deal. I can finally have a good night's sleep."
When she said that she then started leaving the group of pirates.

Those 3 girls can really sing and they are also pretty hot, how much money do you think they are worth if we sold them off into slavery?" a man asked the leader of the group of slave traffickers. The leader responded with a scratchy voice and a creepy smile "Yeah, they will go great with the other girl we captured a few days ago. "Wait boss,we should be more careful with the red eye girl." another man in the group said.
The boss gave him a deadly stare",what so special about her?"
Then one of his workers handed him a bounty poster."
The bounty poster said "Scarlet-Knight Rinka, with a bounty of 50,000,000 beri."
The leader of the group only smirks at the bounty poster. "Since she has such a high bounty she must be really strong. I will get my finest and strongest men to kidnap her. A bounty that big, will surely get us a lot of money when we sell her off into the slaves auction house ." "Are you sure about this?"one man asks.
" It's settled, we're going to kidnap the 3 girls at midnight." the boss said to his men and they nodded in agreement to their boss's statement.
