Sanctity of Life

Chapter 13 – Family.

Kazuki ran as fast as he could towards the 2 massive energy signatures he was sensing, he didn't need to assess who's energy it was, Rassimov had a habit of hiding his, so the 2 he was sensing could only belong to Shauna and Wind. The 2 most infamous members of the Spiral-Force, Keil and Tantras were in charge of training and recruiting, Shauna and Wind were in charge of leading the army. Kazuki was in for one of the deadliest fights of his life.

"Halt traitor!" Shauna screamed, as she spotted Kazuki running in her direction. "I heard the commotion earlier, did you beat Keil and the old man?" she asked in a mocking tone, having no respect for her 2 fallen comrades.

"I'd brag, but they went down pretty easily." Kazuki retorted, clenching his fist. "I'm not going to hold back because you're a woman." He looked at her dead in the eyes, before switching his gaze to man besides her, "And I don't give a shit about you being mute either, Wind."

A vein popped on Wind's forehead, showing his rage at Kazuki's remark, His fist glowed maroon in the shape of a sphere, he charged at Kazuki and aimed for his heart, intending to kill Kazuki immediately. Unfortunately for Wind, Kazuki wasn't the same kid the cult knew, he caught Wind's fist and held it in the air, "It's not like you to lose your cool, did I hit a nerve?" He mocked him as Wind struggled to break free of Kazuki's hold.

On cue, Shauna appeared behind Kazuki and attempted to strike his spinal cord, but before she made contact, Kazuki turned around and threw Wind right into her attack, forcing Shauna to destroy Wind's ribcage with her Fury Fist Magic. Wind landed on Shauna and winced in pain, unable to cry out.

"Careful, you could have killed him." Kazuki mocked her, knowing full well how she'd react. Completely pissed at Kazuki's tactics, she launched at him, throwing hundreds of punches at him, each strike being strong enough to decimate his skeleton. As fast as she was, Kazuki was much faster, dodging every strike with ease, he studied her attack patterns, analysing how she fights. Upon studying enough, Kazuki countered by teleporting mid air in front of her face and spin kicking her, which sent her flying into the wall. But before she could make contact, Kazuki appeared right above her and used her own Fury First Magic to strike her, forcing her 10 feet through the ground, completely paralysed. "Now it's just you." He turned and faced a panting Wind.

Wind didn't let himself recover, instead he lost his temper again and charged at Kazuki once more just like earlier, this time surrounding his whole body with magic, resulting in him being much faster then Shauna, but still coming up too slow for Kazuki.

Kazuki once again dodged every strike, "Shauna's fist internally destroys whatever she touches, you however, curse your target, and once cursed, the target disintegrates from the inside. The cursed version of Shauna's Fury Fist Magic, she was never able to learn it was she?" Kazuki purposely mocked Shauna in front of Wind, making him angrier and angrier.

"Why aren't you answering me? Oh right, my bad." Kazuki smirked, as he dodged another fist, Wind's rage was making his attacks more and more predictable. Not being able to take anymore, Wind powered up as much as he could and charged at Kazuki will full force, aiming right for his mouth.

Kazuki ducked and sent an uppercut, hitting Wind's stomach and launching him into the air, Kazuki closed his fist as he was surrounded by violent winds, "This shit is done." Kazuki declared, as he consumed the air around him and then aimed for Wind. "Sky Dragon: ROAR!" He screamed, blasting Wind with the violent breathe attack. Wind tried to scream in pain, but he couldn't do even that.

Kazuki walked over to an unconscious Wind, he looked at his crushed body and clenched his fist. Even after everything, the cult had done, Kazuki was feeling sympathy for Wind. He knelt down and regenerated Wind. "You can talk again." He told him.

"Why… after everything?" Wind asked, struggling to talk as he tried to hold his tears back, but failed miserably.

"Because you were the one to help me escape, and I want to know why." Kazuki closed his eyes, "I told my guild that I escaped, I never told anyone how. Even Rei doesn't know. But you came to my cell when I pretended to be asleep, you unlocked it and left it open. For years, that 1 question has been killing me, I need to know why you helped me." Kazuki begged for Wind's answer.

"Rassimov had to be stopped… and you're the only…" Wind was cut off as a blast of magic energy tore a massive hole through his chest. Kazuki grasped and turned towards the direction from where the blast came from, only to find Rassimov standing there, smiling.

"RASSIMOV!" Kazuki screamed, completely losing his shit, and powering up.

"Oh do calm down, Kazuki." Rassimov grinned, he was in complete control over the room.

"How do you know my name?!" Kazuki continued to scream, demanding an answer.

"What a stupid question, I know your name because my sister gave you it." He declared.

Kazuki's eyes opened wide, he blinked a few times and processed what Rassimov had just said, upon realising what he meant, Kazuki got even angrier, "That's bullshit!" He tried to argue.

"Is it?" Rassimov's grin widened, "then remember back to when you were at the village, everytime you wanted to adopt an animal, who did you run to for permission?"

"How do you… No… That… He was you… But… I…" Having just realised that Rassimov was in his life a lot longer then he remembered, Kazuki fell to his knees, his whole world came crushing down. Rassimov was family.

"I expected you to repress some of the memories, I didn't know you were going to repress all of them." Rassimov laughed, "Do you even remember your parents?"

"Only thing I remember about them is that they gave me my Dragon Lacrima." Kazuki silently spoke, still feeling broken.

Upon hearing what Kazuki said, Rassimov burst into laughter, "You think your parents did that?" He continued laughing, "I was the one who did that, your parents were long gone by then."

"What?!" Kazuki shot up, the only memory of his parents he had was false, he couldn't take it anymore. "Who were my parents? What happened to them?"

"Your father disappeared one day, after my sister got pregnant with you, he never returned. As for Sheila, she died giving birth to you." Rassimov looked at Kazuki, with no empathy. "You were born an orphan."

"You're my uncle… how could you do this to me?!" Kazuki cried, "All I ever wanted was family, what did I ever do to you?!" he desperately begged for an explanation.

"Don't talk family to me, you can't even remember who your family is." Rassimov spat on the ground, "Everything I put you through was to help you mature, turn you into the strongest Wizard, and look where you are now. Did I fail?" Rassimov smirked.

"You didn't this to make me stronger!" Kazuki stood up and powered up, "You want my strength for something."

"You're right, I want to dominate this world. But I am not a mystic type like you, so I needed your special genes." Rassimov smiled, knowing that Kazuki understood.

"The foot soldiers. You weren't recruiting an army; they were your test subjects?"

"Yes, I injected them all with your DNA, some died, some had no effect, and some became my Spiral-Force."

"Spiral-Force?!" Kazuki turned around and looked at the deceased Wind. "They were lab rats too?"

"Tantras, Keil, Shauna and Wind were the only ones to positively react to your DNA, then again maybe it's because they share it with you."

"They what?!" Kazuki panicked, "How are we related? You tell me right now!" Kazuki demanded.

"Gladly, Tantras is my father, and by extension, your grandfather." Rassimov grinned as he watched his nephew break in front of him, falling to his knees again. "Keil is a failed attempt at cloning you, Shauna and Wind are siblings, they're my children, and your cousins." He continued to break Kazuki with his intel.

"You experimented on our family, and then killed your son…" Kazuki faintly stated, losing the will to fight.

"I experimented on everyone I got my hands on, and now I finally know how to extract your power from you." Rassimov powered up and summoned a black sphere above his head. "Stay still, exactly as you are, I don't need you alive." He chuckled as he blasted the sphere at Kazuki.

Kazuki just helplessly watched as the sphere quickly drew closer and closer, Kazuki could easily have forged a Danku Wall and blocked it, but he had lost his will to fight. He was once again a helpless captive of Rassimov, and now he was going to die.

Just before the sphere made contact, a bright white light surrounded Kazuki and cancelled out the sphere.

"Where am I?" Kazuki asked as he looked around, he wasn't at the cave anymore, he didn't know where he was, only that it was white and extended forever. "Is this hell? Is that why I'm here? Did I die?" He asked plainly, not having a care in the world. "I'm dead, he's going to kill Rei and shortly the whole world." Kazuki whispered.

"Aren't you all sunshine and rainbows." Came a voice from behind the mystic type. Kazuki turned around to see a man who looked exactly like him, except with green eyes instead of brown. "You didn't die, and this isn't hell." The mysterious man smiled and walked closer to Kazuki.

"Then where exactly am I? And who are you?" Kazuki asked the man as he got closer. "Stop. Don't get any closer, answer my questions."

"Well…" the man continued to smile, "This place is your personal time/space. I was able to save you from Rassimov's attack and bring your mind here so we could talk." He explained.

"That still doesn't explain who you are, or how you connected to MY time/space." Kazuki challenged, cautious of his doppelganger.

"I connected to your time/space because you're Kazuki." He placed his hand on Kazuki's hair. "And I'm your father." He told him.

"You… What?" Kazuki had yet another bomb to process, he slapped the man's hand away and grabbed his shirt. "Why should I believe anything you say? Rassimov said you disappeared, it's just 1 story after another, I don't even know what to fucking believe anymore." He let go of the man's shirt and pulled his own hair. "God damnit, am I supposed to be happy or mad, I don't even know."

"Kazuki, Rassimov was right, I disappeared one day, and that's why I'm here now. To tell you everything that happened." The man gently explained. "Will you allow me to explain?"

"I don't see how I have much of a choice." Kazuki retorted, "Get on with it."

"Where to begin… I guess I should start with me. My name is Kenza. I'm not from this world or anywhere like it. I accidently arrived here one day a long time ago, to be honest I landed on my ass. But it happened to be right in front of the most hyperactive woman I've ever known." Kenza paused and smiled, "Her name was Sheila, she's your mother Kazuki."

Kazuki looked at Kenza's face and then looked back down, he couldn't remember a parents love, but he was feeling it right now, it was a nice warm feeling. Kazuki wanted to tackle Kenza and hug him, but he controlled himself and let Kenza continue.

"Sheila and I got along very well since our first meeting; in fact, it wasn't too long before we started dating. A few years passed and we got married. It was a great day of celebration; everyone was there from her family." Kenza stopped smiling and looked at Kazuki seriously, "Rassimov is Sheila's older brother."

"I know, he told me about Tantras, Keil, Shauna and… Wind." Kazuki explained looking away, in truth he was hiding his tears, even after everything, Wind's murder was breaking Kazuki.

"I see. Rassimov never showed his true colours, but he got real close to me, at the time I thought he wanted us to bond, but now I know he was really after my power." Kenza pointed at Kazuki, "Our power, we're both mystic types, right?"

Kazuki didn't say anything, he just silently nodded, with his eyes closed.

"Shortly after Sheila and I got married, she became pregnant with you. We were so happy; we were going to announce it to the whole village." Kenza smiled, reminiscing over the past, but then his smile faded as he looked up. "And then Rassimov showed me his true colours, he opened an inter-dimensional portal and tricked me through it, banishing me from this world, I could never return." Kenza looked back at Kazuki.

"Is that why you were gone for so long?" Kazuki asked.

"I'm afraid so, it's taken me years to even contact you like this." Kenza explained. "Rassimov wanted the Mystic Type gift, but I was too strong for him."

"So instead he decided to take his chances with a child." Kazuki finished Kenza's sentence, having figured out Rassimov's mindset.

"Exactly, with me gone, he no trouble corrupting Tantras and his own kids. He turned the whole village around, making it the headquarters of his movement, later the movement would become a cult and take on the name, 'Blood Spirals'." Kenza clenched his fist in rage, "Once Rassimov got everything he needed, he delivered you into the world and then prepared to kill Sheila but…"

"But mum died giving birth to me." Kazuki cut Kenza off again, looking down with tears falling.

"Kazuki, it wasn't your fault."

"Mum would still be alive if it wasn't for me." Kazuki cried, not being able to take it anymore.

"She would also still be alive if I didn't fall for Rassimov's bullshit." Kenza added, walking to Kazuki, and pulling him into a hug.

"Listen to me, Sheila, Wind, dark guilds, none of their deaths are on you, you were dealt a shit hand, but you did what you could with those cards. And look at you now." Kenza broke their hug and caressed Kazuki's cheeks, "You're the highest ranked Saint, you're an emperor of Ishgar, and you met Rei."

Kazuki's eyes widened at the sound of her name, "Rei…"

"She's just like your mother that one, hyperactive and carefree. You have your hands full." Kenza chuckled.

Kazuki smiled and pulled his dad into a hug this time, "My whole life I spent wondering what kind of people my parents were." He gently cried, "And now I know, they're just human."

Kenza patted Kazuki's head and rubbed his back, "We're all only human, and that's why it's hard."

Kazuki nodded and broke the hug, "What happens now?"

"Well, you won't believe this, but I've met you before."

"What? When?" Kazuki asked confused.

"In the future." Kenza said, "I have a thing with time travel."

"I get it, future me accidently ran into you for the first time and told you about this conversation." Kazuki explained, having pieced it all together.

"The future you is a lot less smart then the current you." Kenza laughed, "There's another reason why I'm here, Kazuki."

"What is it?"

"The future you told me, that today is the day you die."

"That doesn't make any sense, how did I tell you that in the future if I'm going to…" Kazuki stopped talking, he realised what Kenza and his future-self meant. "Oh." Is all he could say.

"I'm sorry." Kenza looked at him worried, and on cue, his body began to fade away slowly.

"I guess our time is up, dad." Kazuki did his best to smile.

"Before I go", Kenza kissed Kazuki on the head and rubbed his hair, "I'm proud of you son. Now go kick Rassimov's ass." He smiled as he lifted into the air and faded into nothing.

"I will." Kazuki smiled, his resolve renewed and stronger than ever.

Back at the cave, Rassimov had created another sphere and was about to launch it at Kazuki, "I don't know what that light was, but it won't save you again." Rassimov warned as he blasted the sphere at Kazuki again.

Just before the sphere made contact, Kazuki jumped out of the way and blasted Rassimov with light magic, chaining him up. "I guess the tail is on the other side, I'm liking the irony." Kazuki smirked.

"What happened? You were completely defeated a few seconds ago, where did this resolve come from?" Rassimov questioned.

"Let's just say I had a long over-due parents evening." Kazuki gave Rassimov a big grin, "Listen I need to get to Rei and make sure she's safe, so I'm sorry, but that means I have to take you down pretty quickly."

"As if that would be so simple." Rassimov smirked, powering up and breaking free from the light chains. He opened 2 portals next to him, and from 1 emerged a humanoid golden red scarab, and from the other a giant. "I've had years to discover unique beings of power, meet Anubian the Scarab Lord and Legion, the God of War." He bragged, and set the two at Kazuki.

Kazuki got out of the way of their attacks and assessed the damage, these creatures were ridiculously fast, however they lacked power. "If they're God's then…" Kazuki powered up, being engulfed by black flames. "Flame God: Scythe." He chanted, and the black flames around him forged into a burning scythe. Kazuki jumped and stroke both 'Gods' with he scythe, causing serious damage to them. "God Slayer magic works pretty well against them." Kazuki smirked at Rassimov as the 'Gods' tried to recover but failed.

"I didn't know they had such a pathetic weakness." Rassimov growled in disgust. "I will erase the two myself!" He raised his hands and destroyed both Gods with black swords compressed into energy.

"You destroy everything that doesn't go your way, I'm sick of watching that happen." Kazuki looked at his uncle in disgust.

"Then don't watch, just stay still and die!" Rassimov screamed as he blasted Kazuki with Red energy blasts, "Null curse!" he shouted.

Kazuki once again dodged the blasts and jumped in front of Rassimov. "Ice Make: Hammer!" He forged a hammer out of ice and slammed it on Rassimov's head, sending him to the ground.

"How dare you?" Rassimov screamed as he got up, his head dripping with blood. Rassimov surrounded himself with red energy, cursed power running through his entire being. Kazuki landed next to him and jumped to get gain distance as Rassimov's energy grew and became a separate entity of its own. "What is this!?" Rassimov asked in horror, not understanding what's happening.

"You idiot!" Kazuki shouted, "You've lost control." He looked at horror at how Rassimov's energy continued to grow. "So that's the price of forbidden magic." Kazuki powered up and shot through the cave, once he was outside, he spotted countless soldiers unconscious on the ground. "Guess someone pissed Rei off. Where is she?" He looked around, trying to locate her.

"Kazuki!" Rei shouted from the ground, hiding behind a rubble of fallen debris. Upon hearing her voice, Kazuki instantly located his partner and rushed to her.

"Rei, are you okay?" He hastily asked, whilst restoring her exhausted energy.

"I'm fine Kaz, but what's happening in the cave? I was handling things here and then all of a sudden we felt an immense pressure of energy, it knocked the soldiers out cold." She explained, catching her breath.

"It's Rassimov, he overused a forbidden magic and he's losing control." Kazuki explained, having finished restoring Rei's energy.

"What do we do now?"

"His energy has taken over him and it won't stop building, before long it's going to erupt and kill everyone here. We need to take Rassimov out before that happens." Kazuki explained as he powered up, his hair started growing and turning blue, a red dragonic design appeared on his right arm like a tattoo and his hoodie faded away. "This is my dragon force, I'm going to hit Rassimov with everything I have."

"What should I do?"

"Watch my back, after this spell I'll be vulnerable for a few minutes, Rassimov will be severely weakened but he'll still be trouble."

"Okay, I can handle him for a few minutes." Rei smiled. "Let's do this."

"Yeah." Kazuki smiled at her, and then turned around to face the cave. Rassimov's energy had grown so big that it was overwhelming the cave.

Kazuki clapped his hands together and a massive magic circle appeared beneath him. "Dragon Slayer secret art: Astral Body – Stellar Dragon Asteroid!" Kazuki chanted as a massive rock from the sky hastily descended onto Rassimov. Within a moment, Rassimov's energy and the asteroid make contact, causing a massive explosion of energy and terrain.

Once the commotion calmed down, Kazuki was on his knees panting for air. Switching between so many different types of magic was incredibly draining. Rei stood next him on guard, waiting for Rassimov to make a move.

"You should have killed me when you had the chance Kazuki." Rassimov remarked, standing right where he was before, except now the energy that had overwhelmed him was now gone. "Thanks to you, I'm in control again." He smirked, walking towards Kazuki and Rei.

"Lightning Make: Volcano" Rei chanted as she clapped her hands and slammed them onto the ground, causing her signature green lightning eruption.

Rassimov, without a care in the world, walked through the onslaught of lightning, coming out unscathed. "What a pathetic trick." He growled, insulted that Rei had the audacity to even try.

Keeping her cool, she clapped her hands again, this time channelling more energy, "Lightning Make: Artillery." She chanted, creating hundreds of military weapons made out of her green lightning. She aimed her finger at Rassimov and sent her magic at him.

Rassimov once again continued approaching, still not caring for Rei's attempts. Unfortunately for him, he should have; Rei wasn't trying to beat him, she was hoping that Rassimov wouldn't try to block the attacks. And it worked like a charm, Rei's lightning surrounded Rassimov and he was trapped in the centre.

"So this is what you were planning? Not bad." Rassimov acknowledged her, finally giving Rei some sort of respect.

"Keep your praise to yourself." Rei retorted, disgusted at his amusement, she clapped her hands once more and chanted, "Lighting Make: Prison!", the lightning surrounding Rassimov shaped into a cage and trapped him there. "Taste of your own medicine." Rei smirked.

"Nonsense, I'll make quick work of this cage." Rassimov growled, he punched the cage as hard as he could, only to be blasted back by resultant force. "All magic submits to me, why won't this lightning obey me?!" He screamed, demanding answers.

"It's green lightning." Kazuki spoke up, having fully recovered, "green magic represents a carefree nature, nothing can force it into submission." He smirked as he held Rei's hand.

"Time to end this." They both said in unison, merging their power together, in preparation of a unison raid.

"You're a thorn in my sight girl, I'll end you right here!" Rassimov roared, once again engulfed by his own energy, this time however, he retained control with just sheer hatred against Rei and Kazuki. "I'll kill her first, then you!" He gathered his power and sent a blast right at Rei.

Without having any time to think, Kazuki jumped in the way and absorbed the whole blast into his body.

"Kazuki!" Rei cried out, as he fell to the ground.

"Fine, you can die saving her, but she's still gone." Rassimov prepared to blast Rei once more, but was stopped as Kazuki's fist pierced through Rassimov's chest, ripping a hole through his body.

"Just like Wind." Kazuki whispered, as he left Rassimov's dead body fall to the floor. "Good riddance, uncle". Kazuki fell on the ground felt his whole body go numb as regeneration energy spilled out.

"Kazuki!" Rei ran to his side, pulling out a capsule that Kazuki had given her earlier. "Here take this, you need to regenerate right?" She handed him the pills.

"It's okay, those were for you in case I didn't reach you in time." Kazuki struggled to speak. "It's finally over." Kazuki gave a bittersweet smile, he was happy that the cult was finally dealt with, but he was also dreading what was about to happen to him.

"Yeah." Rei smiled, "Kazuki, why do you look so sad?"

"I'm not sad, I'm scared." He tried to smile, "Things are going to change."

"I know, but it's a good thing, the Spirals are done, you can live in peace for once."

"That's not what I meant." Kazuki coughed, "I meant I'm about to change." He looked into Rei's eyes, "There's something I haven't told you about regeneration."

"What is it?" Rei asked slightly worried, Kazuki was acting weird.

"When I've been harmed in any way at all, my body automatically regenerates."

"I know that."

"What do you think happens if I die?"

"I… I don't know." Rei's voice was shaking, she was terrified of what Kazuki was about to tell her.

"When that happens, all the limiters on regeneration are released, resulting in Regeneration level 2."

"So then you'll be fine." Rei nervously smiled; she was still worried though. Why was Kazuki explaining this right now instead of regenerating?

"Level 2 is… It's a reset button of sorts."

"What does that mean?"

"Level 2 doesn't just heal, it restores the body to the last point before it received any harm, however the process of regenerating so many cells at one given time destroys the brain. As such, the brain is then regenerated as well."

"…I don't understand, what are you telling me?" Rei asked, her voice still shaking, and tears falling from her eyes.

"The body is completely restored, but the being is entirely new, same face, different man."

"Kazuki… Why are you telling me this?" She asked him worriedly.

"Rassimov's last spell, the one I absorbed. It was cursed energy, it's killing me right now, and my body is preparing." Kazuki coughed again, this time bleeding from the side of his lips.

"Preparing for what?" Rei already knew the answer, but she didn't want to believe it.

"Preparing to regenerate, a level 2 regeneration." Kazuki closed his eyes, "I'm sorry Rei, but I'm going to change."

"No…" Rei had her head in her hands, she nodded left and right, "No… No…"

"Rei… Please." Kazuki weakly called to her, moving her hand closer to her.

Rei took his hand with hers and hugged him. "Please don't go." She begged as her tears came crashing down.

"I'm not going anywhere, but I will be different." Kazuki gave a soft smile. "I may not be the same, but it's still me."

"I don't care! I want you; I want to be with you, I wanted to grow old with you, we were going to be a family, we were going to have so many more adventures." She cried on his shoulder.

"I wanted that too…" Kazuki confessed, his own tears streaming down, "But it's not our choice. Rei, these are the last words this me will ever say to you, please…" He caressed her cheek.

Rei composed herself and brang her face closer to Kazuki.

"Rei, I love you." Kazuki softly told her.

"I love you too." She softly told him.

The couple pulled in and their lips connected, the kiss wasn't long, but it was deep, all the times they couldn't see each-other when they were split up, all the times they wanted to rush to each-others side, those times were all conveyed in that short kiss. As they broke it, Kazuki's body was overwhelmed with regeneration energy. More regeneration energy then Rei had ever seen at one given time, it lifted Kazuki into the air and glowed brighter. Kazuki was already dead, and now his successor was on his way. The burning of energy ended sooner then Rei expected, the golden embers had been sucked back into Kazuki, as he landed on the ground.

He looked up to Rei and smiled, "Hello, I believe I'm your prince." He held out his hand to her.

Rei looked at his hand and took it, "Are you still my Kazuki?" she asked him, desperately hoping for the answer she wanted to hear.

"I'll always be your Kazuki, Rei." He nodded, "But I'm not the same Kazuki you knew."

"I… see…" Rei faintly responded, having been broken. She turned around and started walking, "Guess we should head back to the guild."

Kazuki reached out and grabbed her hand, turning her around and pulling her close. "Rei, I may be different, but I'm still your Kazuki." He looked directly at her, "Please give me a chance." He gently made his request.

Rei looked into his eyes, they were the exact same as before, nothing was different. She finally smiled and squeezed his hand, "I don't need to, because you are my Kazuki." She grinned and hugged him.

"Thanks Rei." Kazuki hugged her back, feeling relieved. "Let's get back to the guild, I'll call Jura on the way." He smiled.

The pair broke their hug and held each-others hand, taking off with Kazuki's 'Sparkling Meteor'.

"Rei, I wanted to apologise." Kazuki spoke.

"Huh? What for?" She asked.

"I didn't want to kill Rassimov, there was no other…"

"Kazuki it's okay, I saw how hard you tried to save everyone, Rassimov was a lost cause, it was his life or yours." She smiled.

Upon hearing Rei's response, Kazuki was ecstatic, as soon as they landed, they looked in front and saw Fairy Tail, decorated completely.

"What happened here?" Rei questioned, looking at the building confused.

"I told them to have a party ready because I'd have you back by this time today." Kazuki explained, feeling happier then ever, he squeezed Rei's hand and they both looked at each-other.

"Shall we?" She smirked.

"Oh yeah." He smirked back, they counted to 3 and stormed in the guild.

"WE'RE BACK!" They both shouted, alerting the entire guild. Within an instant, everyone was tackling Rei and Kazuki with hugs and welcomes.

Back at the Blood-Spiral base, the magic council was arresting every soldier and the remaining 3 members of the Spiral-Force. They had a rough time taking Shauna into custody, she refused to leave her brothers side. Tantras was broken over his son, Rassimov's death. Keil was the only one to not fight back, he accepted his fate and went with the council.

"Everyone has been taken into custody. This is a big day for us." Lahar spoke, reporting to Jura.

"Indeed it is, but it's an even bigger day for Kazuki." He smiled, "It's time he accepts the mantle."

"You mean?"

"Yes, I want him to accept the position of Chairman of the magic council." Jura smiled, as he watched the sky.

This had all started with Wind helping Kazuki escape, now it ended with Wind and Rassimov dead, and Kazuki a changed man. But unbeknownst to them, Kazuki and Rei's adventures had only just begun.

Thanks for reading.

The End.
