Setting: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away; Ocean planet with rings of planets (Ahch-To); Place of the first Jedi temple.
Scene 1
[Fade to blackout. While the theatre is dark, the narrator begins the scene.]
Narrator:
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

Victory for the RESISTANCE.
Now with the knowledge of her brother's whereabouts,
General Leia Organa sends Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Rey to the planet of Ahch-To.
The home of the first Jedi temple.
Upon arriving on the deserted planet,
Rey finds Luke and now struggles to return the last Jedi to the galaxy...
[Lights slowly light up. Rey is stand stage left, holding out Luke's old lightsaber to him and Luke, who stands on stage right, looks at Rey and the saber as if he is thinking of a bad memory. He is wearing a long brown robe, and the hood has been pushed off this head. After a long pause...]
Luke:
How did you come by that?
Rey:
Maz Kanata.
Luke:
Maz… How did she…?
Rey:
I don't know, but she said that you were someone who could still come back.
Luke:
She was wrong. I can't come back. She should know why I can't.
Rey:
Did you not feel it?
…
The millions of voices crying out in terror? The galaxy needs the Jedi.
Luke:
The Jedi are no more.
Rey:
You're wrong. I am proof of that. You're not the last one. Not if you train me.
[Luke turns around. His back towards Rey.]
Rey:
I know about Ben. I'm not him.
Luke:
No. You're not.
[Chewbacca's roar is heard from a distance.]
Luke:
Chewy…
…
How'd you find me?
Rey:
Your old droid, R2-D2. He helped us finish the map. They're both down with Han's... with the ship.
Luke:
Han. He's dead.
Rey:
Yes. Kylo Ren killed him.
[Luke bows his head, not looking at Rey.]
Luke:
Oh, Leia…
Rey:
She never stopped searching.
Luke:
She was always so stubborn.
Rey:
Please, she lost Ben, and now Han. Don't make her lose her brother too. Not after she's been given that shred of hope that you might come back.
Luke:
Leia's strong. She will understand my decision.
Rey:
So, you're gonna do nothing?
Luke:
I tried doing something. I tried training the next generation of Jedi. All that I managed to accomplish was creating the situation that killed my nephew and my friend and millions of others
Rey:
Your nephew isn't dead.
Luke:
When he took the name Kylo Ren, Ben Solo died. All that's left is a Sith.
Rey:
Your father is Anakin Skywalker. Darth Vader.
[Luke turns back to look at Rey]
Luke:
What do you know about him?
Rey:
I know how in the end he chose you over the dark side.
Your nephew still has a chance to make that choice, and for him, it might come soon enough to save him. He won't ever be able to come back from the dark side fully, but he could come back.
Luke:
That's wishful thinking.
My father was almost dead before he came back to the light side. You can't save someone that doesn't want to be saved. All we'd do is make it worse, and drive him further away.
Rey:
You're right. We can't save him if he doesn't want to be saved. But we can put that option in front of him. Make sure he knows that he can come back.
[There is a moment, where Luke is thinking then he hears his father's voice. So does Rey.]
Force Ghost Anakin:
[Heard from off stage.]
The Force is with her.

It is time.
[Fade to blackout. End scene.]
