Wolfie: I still do not own any of the Yu-Gi-Oh related things in this story, just my oc's and any alterations to the plot that I make. Also I apologize in advanced if the life point deduction for any of Salem's official duels seems a bit sketchy, I don't exactly know how that works and a clear explanation as to how it works would be nice. Lastly updates for this story will happen whenever I feel like the chapter is ready to be published and this chapter will be alot longer than the first two because I would like to get all of episode one of Yu-Gi-Oh published for this story in maybe one or two chapters before I even think of doing anything related to the other episodes.
Chapter 3, part 1
"Hello can I help you?" Solomon said with a smile as he looks at Kaiba, everyone besides Salem still staring at the other boy in shock.
"If you can't, it really wouldn't surprise me." Seto said as he fully walked into the shop which let the door finally close behind him.
"Seto Kaiba?" Yugi asked clearly confused as to why someone as rich as Kaiba was in his grandfathers shop.
"Kaiba?!" Joey asked in shock since he thought Kaiba was to snooty and rich to come to a simple game shop.
"Doesn't he have a big fancy company that he needs to run, what's he doing all the way down here?" Tristan asked, voicing the question that's most likely on most of his friends minds as they all continue to look at Kaiba.
"Not like it's any of your business but I came to see the card." Seto said which confirmed Salem's suspicions as to why he was here but this also made Yugi and Joey smile.
"Hey are ya into Duel Monsters too? This is perfect, maybe we all could duel together sometime." Joey said with a hopeful look on his face because the thought of having more people to duel with left him jumping for joy.
"Me duel you? I would get more of a challenge by playing solitaire." Seto said as he approached the group of teens that were somewhat blocking his view of the counter.
"What?" Joey asked clearly confused as to what Kaiba meant when he said that though it was clearly an insult towards the blond's talent as a duelist.
"I am the number one ranked duelist in the country, and the favorite to win the Duel Monsters championship. Heh, you wouldn't last two minutes in a duel against me." Seto said with a confident smirk as he turns his head away from Joey with his eyes closed for a moment.
"Ooh, I'm shakin'. Maybe you'd like to settle this with fists instead of cards?" Joey asked with a fist raised, completely done with Kaiba's "I'm better than everyone else" attitude that the brunette was sporting at the moment.
"Whoa, take it easy, Joey." Yugi said as he moved to stand in between Joey and Kaiba with his front facing Joey whilst his back was to Kaiba.
"But Yugi, Kaiba's asking for it." Joey said as he looks down at Yugi, his attention momentarily taken away from Kaiba.
"Now, does this tiny little shop have any worthwhile cards or not?" Seto asked as he glanced at everyone out of the corner of his eye.
However just as he asked that question his eyes saw the card he had been searching for all this time, the fourth and final Blue Eyes White Dragon card that had eluded him for all this time and here he is now finding it in a small no name shop which is something he can't wrap his mind around since it should be somewhere with a well known reputation. Pushing his way past the group infront of him in order to be able to get closer to the counter he carelessly sent Yugi stumbling into Salem who attempted to steady his small friend which nearly ended with then on the ground with the amethyst eyed boy on top of the injured boy if it weren't for the fact that Tea helped steady them both as Joey was pushed into Tristan. Now everyone besides Solomon was looking at Seto in irritation as the brunette continues to look down at the rare dragon card that he needed to get no matter the cost as he seemed to be in another world as he looks down at the card, part of him wondering if it was real or just a cheap knock off that the old man was trying to sell for a quick buck. Leaning down a little bit more as he continued to stare unblinkingly at the card, which was creepy in Salem's opinion, he was pleased to see that it was the genuine article rather than a fake but he didn't let that emotion come to his face since he was till shocked that the card was here of all places. All eyes were locked on Seto who's eyes continued to stay focused on the card infront of him as his free hand that was on the counter clenched into a fist in frustration which would seem unwarranted to a normal person but he was nowhere near normal so to him it seemed like this irritation at the fact that the card he was looking for was here of all places was more than warranted it was necessary! After all if he was going to come across this type of card he would have thought he would have found it in one of those bigger stores that has a reputation for having rare cards like these and would have it under lock and key rather than in a small box that could be snatched up the moment the old man turns his back for a moment to do something. Salem was honestly getting a bit unnerved at how fixated the tall brunette was on the card as his eyes seemed like they would pop out of his head if they get any wider out of shock as the young CEO continues to stare at the card unblinkingly as Solomon was finally starting to have enough of the young mans staring shenanigans.
"Can it be?! The Blue Eyes White Dragon in a dump like this?!" Seto asked not only vocalizing his shock but his opinion about the shop as well which seemed to be the last straw for Solomon. 'It is, the card I've been searching for!' He thought to himself as he realized this was indeed the card he was looking for.
"Well that's enough window shopping, is there anything else I can help you with?" Solomon asked politely as he closed the box containing his Blue Eyes White Dragon and pulled it closer with his eyes closed as Seto recoiled slightly in shock at the fact that he was suddenly no longer allowed to see the card.
"Grr," Seto growled as he suddenly lifted up his brief case and slammed it down on the counter, nearly scaring Solomon half to death as he showed the older male the contents of the case as it was filled to the brim with rare Duel Monster cards! "Listen old man, give me your Blue Eyes White Dragon and I'll trade you all of these." He said attempting to persuade the old man with the idea of having rare cards to sell in his store.
"Whoa/Wow/Whoa!" Yugi, Joey, and Tea all exclaim in unison as they look at the cards from their positions on either side of Kaiba whilst Salem and Tristan were quiet.
"Ah nice, but no thanks." Solomon said with the same kind smile that he always seems to have on his face even in situations like this.
"Huh?!" Yugi, Tea, and Joey exclaimed in unison yet again while Salem and Tristan were still silent but were also shocked as Seto gritted his teeth slightly in frustration.
"Fine. If you won't trade it then maybe you'll sell it. Name your price old man, I can pay any amount you want." Seto said with insistence in his voice because he was willing to do anything if it meant walking out of the shop with that card in his possession.
"I'm sure you could, but this card is worth more to me than you could ever offer. Not because of it's power, or because it's so rare, but because of what it means to me. This card was given to me by a dear friend, so I treasure this card as I do that friend." Solomon said, pausing for a moment to stare at the box containing the card fondly before looking at a confused Kaiba withe a serious face. "So parting ways with it is simply out of the question." He added as Kaiba was now left gaping in shock at that statement.
'No!' Seto thought in shock as his eyes narrowed slightly, he won't lose that easily and he will get that card if it's the last thing he can ever do!
"You'd feel that way even if you were talking about a common card, right Grandpa?" Yugi asked with a smile at the fact that his Grandpa was so loyal to a card because a friend gave it to him, oblivious to the fact that Kaiba's clenched fist was shaking in anger.
"Exactly. You see, this precious card has bonded with my heart." Solomon said hoping to break through to Kaiba and show him that a card given out of friendship is more valuable than all the money and rare cards in the world.
"Fine, I've heard enough of your nonsense." Seto said as he slammed his brief case shut and begins to walk away. "Senile old fool." He added before finally exiting the shop and climbing into his limo as everyone watches his reaction to being denied the card curiously.
The white limo, which was tinted pink because of the sunset, drives away from the game shop as the young CEO in the back seemed to be glaring at the open privacy window that would separate him from his driver if it was closed. 'Heart in the cards- ridiculous! These cards are all about nothing more than power, and whether he likes it or not his Blue Eyes White Dragon card will belong to me.' Seto thought as his teeth clenched together in anger as the memory of having Solomon refuse to give up the card replays in his head the entire drive home.
The very next day
Earlier that morning whilst everyone else was getting ready to go to school Seto was at Kaiba Corp having a small meeting with his short butler Hobson and two goons in suits, they were his plan B for being unable to coax Solomon into giving him the card with the promise of rare cards and then the promise of whatever amount of money that the older Muto man may have possibly wanted to receive as payment for the card. Ever since he had gotten home the young CEO had gone into a downward spiral since being denied something that he wants did not sit well with him because no one denies him what he wants because he is Seto Kaiba, the second richest person in all of Japan, people should be begging him to trade them rare cards or paying them in exchange for something he wants. In the end his downward spiral and his obsession to get his hands on the fourth Blue Eyes White Dragon card had made him hatch a crazy plan that his sadistic butler wholeheartedly supported, after all if he didn't support this cockamamie idea he'd most certainly be out of a job come morning and the shot plump man cannot afford to have that happen. The plan honestly was something that someone who has either hit rock bottom or has gone completely mad would have come up with and Seto may have become the latter because his stoic expression has been replaced with a sadistic, even crazed, smirk as he thinks about the plan once again. Since Solomon was so insistent on not trading or selling it then maybe the old fool would consider having a friendly little duel with him, after all whats the worse that could happen?...Well, the old man getting totally decimated and humiliated whilst losing his most precious card is the worst thing that could possibly happen.
"Gentlemen, there's a little something at the game shop that I'd like for you to pick up for me." Seto said with his fingers threaded together as he rests his chin on said fingers, still smirking.
"Gladly, Master Kaiba." Hobson said, smirking as well because unlike the goons who were stoic face with their eyes covered by dark sunglasses.
Later that day Hobson and the goons went to the game shop to collect Solomon and bring him to Kaiba Corp where their boss, Master in Hobson's case, was waiting to put the rest of his plan into action whilst everyone was at school, which means there would be no interruptions from Yugi or any of his annoying little friends because they are all at school and are oblivious to what is happening. They approached the game shop which didn't have any business at the moment due to the fact that it was so early in the morning so Solomon took this as a chance to do some cleaning as he wiped down the glass counter/display case, his back towards the door at the moment as he focused on the cleaning he was doing. He was also thinking about the events from yesterday involving Kaiba and how that spoiled brat honestly thought he was shallow enough to accept bribes in exchange for a card that honestly means just as much to him as his grandson does, he has put his heart and soul into loving and protecting that card just as he has with loving and protecting Yugi. Solomon was soon broken out of his thoughts by the shop door suddenly slamming open and the bell above it ringing wildly at the sudden force that had been applied to opening the door, said force wasn't really necessary in the older males opinion because that door was fairly light and easy to open. The old shop keeper knew it was to early for his normal clientele to be coming in to either purchase a new game or to purchase new cards or trade cards for new ones so despite the fact that he thought it was extremely fishy for someone to be coming in this early he still needed to be kind and respectful to any potential that may walk into his shop. That was why he had been so nice to Kaiba even if he was trying to get him to give up his most treasured card because in the end he is still a business owner so he has to think about the reputation of his shop and if anyone found out that he was rude to a possible customer as rich as Kaiba they would possibly think he's rude towards all customers.
"Good morning. Hmm?" Solomon said as he turned around, hmming slightly in question when he saw a short bald man and two men who look like security guards stood in the doorway of his shop.
"My Master Seto Kaiba challenges you to a duel. You will come with us now." Hobson said as he took a step forward to stand a little more infront of the suit wearing goons.
"And if I were to decline his challenge?" Solomon asked with his arms folded behind his back as he keeps his eyes on the three men.
"I'm afraid I must...insist." Hobson said with his usual sadistic smile as he looks at Solomon as the goons step forward menacingly.
'Young Kaiba doesn't understand, but I'll teach him a lesson about the heart of the cards.' Solomon thought to himself with furrowed brows before collecting his deck and going with Hobson and the goons to Kaiba Corp.
Later when school was over Yugi and his friends were walking towards the game shop as Joey talks to Yugi who was standing between both him and Salem, said boy wasn't trying to get in on the conversation like he usually would because he was deep in thought due to the fact that he had had a really weird dream last night because when he tried to steady Yugi yesterday when Kaiba pushed him he accidentally touched the Millennium Puzzle. Said puzzle had reacted by radiating heat yet again but it wasn't as intense as it had been when both him and Yugi touched it for the first time eight months ago and after that when he went to bed it was strange because the dream didn't really feel like a dream, more like a memory from a past life. During the entire dream he couldn't put faces to voices since they seemed to be covered by shadows but a few things stood out alongside the fact that the dream took place in ancient Egypt, one was the two people had star shaped tri colored hair just like Yugi, one of them seemed to be the Pharaoh, and he was...intimate with them. Just remembering that last part caused Salem to blush because he never thought he would have a dream that would end with him being intimate with two men, he doesn't even think he swung that way sexuality wise, but it seems like the him in his dream did and the more he thought about it the redder his face got as he was now as crimson red as one of his moms coats. Tea noticed how extremely red Salem's face had gotten as she feared he may pass out from all of the blood rushing to his face and she was curious as to what had caused her friend to become so blushy and embarrassed but she decided to keep her question's to her self as to not cause her friend any further embarrassment by asking why he was blushing since she knew that Joey, Tristan, and Yugi would be curious as well. As they got closer and closer to the game shop the silent boy slowly got his blush under control as he tried not to think about the dream he had because for all he knew it could just be his mind playing tricks on him and possibly didn't have any significance whatsoever when in reality it was the Shadow Magic within the puzzle attempting to trigger the suppressed memories of one of his past lives. That fact about the puzzle is unknown to everyone as the group of friends finally reaches the game shop and head inside as they notice that it is eerily empty and is void of the kind face that belonged to Solomon Muto who was absent from the shop much to the shock of the teens as they begin to look around the shop for the older male still seeing no sign of him anywhere as they stayed standing in the doorway for now.
"Okay Gramps! I'm back to get some more cards! Hey! Hey Gramps!" Joey said practically shouting to try and get the older males attention, thinking he may have gone upstairs.
"Grandpa, I'm home!" Yugi said practically shouting as well as he also thought that his grandpa was upstairs in their home and had possibly closed up early, but if that was true then why was the door to the shop still unlocked?
"Maybe he went out?" Tea said as she gave a suggestion as to why Solomon wasn't answering either Joey or Yugi's calls.
"Maybe, but if he did then why is the door unlocked?" Joey asked as him and Yugi look at each other until the shop phone suddenly rings.
"Hello, game shop." Yugi said politely as he answered the phone, thinking it was a customer calling to pre-order something.
"Ah, Yugi. Perfect." Seto said over the phone as Yugi lost the smile that had been on his face when he answered the phone as he gasps in shock.
"Kaiba?!" Yugi asked in shock, wondering why him of all people was calling the shop.
"Your grandfather's here at Kaiba Corp visiting, but he's not feeling very well. Why don't you stop by and pick him up?" Seto asked and then hung up before Yugi could say anything.
"Kaiba?! What did you do Kaiba?!" Yugi said practically shouting into the hung up phone before he puts it back and rushes out the door.
That left Joey, Salem, Tea, and Tristan to assume something bad happened as they sprinted in order to catch up with their short yet very fast friend as well as shouting at him, or in Salem's case just running because he can't sign and run, to tell them whats going on as said boy runs towards Kaiba Corp to get his grandfather, hoping and preying that he was okay and that nothing happened to the only family member that he has left right now. Kaiba Corp was all the way across town, much to the dismay of the shorter member's of the group, but that didn't stop them as they reached the building as the sun was going down as they wen't into the building and straight into the elevator as Tristan hits the button that would take them up to where they would need to be which is the very top floor. The elevator ride was a nice break from all the running as Salem took this as a chance to catch his breath as he slightly leans against Yugi, who blushed when he felt his silent friend lean on him but didn't said anything and just let him do it because he knew Salem would let him lean against him too if their roles were reversed in this situation. When the elevator reached the top floor and the doors opened they were met with the sight of Solomon laying on his stomach on the floor clearly in bad condition as he moaned slightly in pain which made the group wonder what exactly Kaiba did to the older male. Salem was honestly mad that Kaiba would hurt such a nice old man like Solomon, all he did was refuse to give up his Blue Eyes White Dragon, that does not warrant whatever Kaiba did to him and any sane person would agree that it's just a card and even if it is a rare card it's not something that a person should get pissed off over. Yugi had rushed over when he saw his grandfather and since the silent boy had still been leaning against him slightly so he almost fell since he wasn't expecting that but he steadied himself before he fell over as he exited the elevator followed by the rest of his friends who all stood a little ways behind Yugi.
"Grandpa! Grandpa. Are you okay?" Yugi asked as he kneeled down infront of his Grandpa's sprawled out form.
"Yugi, I failed. I wanted to teach that boy Kaiba a lesson about the heart of the cards, but I lost." Solomon said pushing himself up onto his elbows, looking at his grandson sadly before slumping back down since he doesn't have much energy to hold himself up for very long as he groans.
"Grandpa!" Yugi said, extremely concerned about his grandpa since he looks to be in real bad condition.
"How's the old man feeling, hmm?" Seto asked from a doorway that is up a small set of stairs.
"Kaiba, you sleaze, what have you done to him?!" Joey asked with a raised clenched fist, he's come to be protective of his friends grandfather.
"We had a duel, that's all. With each of us putting up our most valuable card as the prize, but I guess playing against a champion like myself was just too much stimulation for the old fool." Seto said as he continued to have a sadistic smile on his face, barely keeping himself from cackling like a mad man.
'Yea right, no normal duel would leave someone in this kind of condition. Even if they were a man Solomon's age.' Salem thought to himself as he gave Kaiba a skeptical look, this guy was to shady for his liking.
"Kaiba, you should be ashamed of yourself." Tea said, pointing at Kaiba with a fierce look on her face.
"It was fair, and look at the sweet prize I won." Seto said as he held up Solomon's Blue Eyes White Dragon card only to rip it in half causing everyone to gasp in shock, though Salem's gasp was silent.
"Grandpa's most treasured card!" Yugi said shocked that Kaiba would rip up the card infront of them all.
"Yes, the Blue Eyes White Dragon is a rare and powerful card, and this one will never be used against me." Seto said as he tossed aside the two halves of the ripped up card.
"Ah. My Blue Eyes White Dragon. My treasure." Solomon said as he tried to reach out for his card as if it was close enough to grab only to groan in pain again.
"Grandpa, hold on." Yugi said as he looks down at his Grandpa in concern before he looks at Kaiba with an angry look on his face. "How could you do such a thing?!" He added still not quite believing that Kaiba would destroy a rare card just to hurt his Grandpa even more.
"Yugi, here! Take this." Solomon said as he shakily held out his deck towards his grandson.
"Huh? Grandpa?" Yugi asked in confusion as he looks down at his grandpa in concern and sadness.
"I built this deck. I put my soul in these cards, and I taught you everything I know, Yugi. Take them. Take my cards and teach him respect. Teach Kaiba respect for the heart of the cards, Yugi." Solomon said, urging his grandson to take his deck as he continues to shakily holding it out.
"But, Grandpa, you need help. I've got to get you to a doctor." Yugi said since his Grandpa's health was more important than a silly duel.
"Yea, Kaiba's not worth it. Your more important Solomon." Salem signed as he came to stand next to Yugi, really concerned about the older male that has been so kind and understanding with him.
"Sounds like an excuse. Your friends can care for your grandfather, while you and I duel. Unless you're afraid?" Seto asked having come down the set of stairs to be closer to the group of friends as Yugi looked at him with gritted teeth and tears welling up in his eyes that are threatening to spill over.
"Take him, Yugi." Joey said all of a sudden, sounding fed up with Kaiba and his attitude.
"Huh?" Yugi asked yet again confused as he turned towards Joey who looked determined alongside Tea and Tristan who were equally as determined as him.
"We can take care of your grandpa, while you take care of creepy Kaiba. Teach that rich, spoiled brat what a real duel's about." Joey said since he wants his friend to teach Kaiba a lesson he'll never forget.
"For your grandpa, Yugi." Tea said also trying to help urge her friend to accept the duel to get justice for what happened to Solomon.
"I don't know." Yugi said, hesitant to accept the duel since who knows if he'll win.
"Trust me. You're like, the best player I've seen, with Salem being a close second, and you've got the Millennium Puzzle. You can do this Yugi. I know you can." Joey said, attempting to give his best friend a confidence boost to help him accept the duel.
"We all do." Tea said as she realized what Joey was doing and decided to help out with the encouragement.
"Okay Grandpa, I'll do it." Yugi said as he accepted the offered deck from his grandfather as he gained a determined look of his own.
"I know you will, my boy." Solomon said as he lowered his arm, glad that his grandson would finish what he started.
"Everyone, put your hands together, and I'll mark us with a special sign." Tea said as she pulled out a sharpie and marked all five of their hands with a symbol that formed a smiley face when their hands were in a circle together.
"Huh?" Yugi mumbled in confusion as he looks at his hand alongside Salem, Joey, and Tristan who were confused as well.
"What the hell is this supposed to be?" Salem signed with a frown as he looks at Tea since he's seen special symbols and this is not one of them.
"Yea what gives Tea? This ain't no special symbol, its just a smiley face." Joey said with a slight sweat drop on his cheek as he looks at his hand with narrowed eyes.
"It's a symbol of our friendship, so when Yugi's dueling, no matter how tough it gets, he'll know that he's not alone. We're all right there with him." Tea said as she shows her part of the friendship symbol to the four boys infront of her.
"Hmm." Yugi hummed slightly as he nodded, turning and heading up the stairs that Kaiba disappeared up.
"You guys go ahead and take Solomon to the hospital, I'll stay here with Yugi and give him some support." Salem signed to his friends who nodded as they help Solomon up onto Tristan's back so they could get him downstairs to the ambulance that was called.
Walking up the stairs he was about to go through the door way when he saw the torn halves of the Blue Eyes White Dragon card, crouching down to pick them up as he slipped them into the pocket of his uniform jacket, it may not help much but he was determined to piece the card back together and return it to Solomon so he can have his most treasured card back despite it being damaged. Taking a quiet deep breath he stepped through the door way and walked inside to see an arena of sorts with both Kaiba and Yugi standing on identical platforms that were high up in the air, both platforms yellow with red stripes and had a green circle on the front and judging by the floor they were above it seemed to be for Duel Monsters but if that was true then how were they going to duel if they were on the platforms? Despite his confusion Salem didn't even try to distract Yugi by trying to get answers as he stood on the ground near Yugi's half of the field hoping to give his friend the support he needs though his friend has to focus on the duel so all he can do is silently stand there and hope for the best because there is no point in cheering if there is no voice behind it. Meanwhile downstairs Joey, Tea, and Tristan rush an unconscious Solomon to an ambulance that had just pulled up outside of Kaiba Corp as the medic's climbed out and relieved Tristan of the job of carrying Solomon as they get the old man strapped down to the gurney so that they could safely transport him to the hospital so he can get the proper medical attention that Kaiba had denied to give him since he needed to be bait for his grandson. As the medics loaded the now occupied gurney into the ambulance they allowed Tristan to get into the ambulance and Joey was about to as well when Tea stopped him and sent him back inside to help Salem cheer Yugi on since they knew that all their silent friend could do was be there physically and that was it so he will need someone there to be his voice for the cheering part of giving their friend support during the duel. Meanwhile back with Yugi he had seen Salem show up and was glad that one of his friends was there, looking down at his grandfather's deck as he was determined to finish what his grandpa started as quickly as he can so he can be there for him when he wakes up in the hospital so he can cheer up his grandpa with the story of how he taught Kaiba a lesson about the heart of the cards by beating him in this duel. He was brought out of thinking about what he'll do after the duel by Kaiba gloating about how he built the stadium and then he explained how they'd both start with 2,000 life points and the one who hits zero first loses as the platforms move out to be more over the so called virtual stadium that Kaiba had been boasting about like he had already won just by talking about it.
"Are you ready to play, runt?" Seto asked practically sneering at Yugi as he gets ready to start.
"Play time is over, Kaiba!" Yugi said as he got ready as well and then much to Salem's shock and awe the puzzle around Yugi's neck glows brightly as he transforms. "Yu-Gi-Oh!" He shouts as he transforms, his voice getting deeper towards the end as Yugi is replaced with a taller more mature version of himself.
It was like Salem's breath had been taken away from him as he looks at the more mature version of Yugi, his clothes had changed as his button up shirt had turned into a leather shirt with gold buttons down the front, his pants appeared to become leather as well, and his tennis shoes had changed into boots that seemed to have merged with his pants since the silent boy didn't know where his pant legs started and his shoes ended. Though that's not what took the pale boys breath away it was his appearance, normally Yugi is innocent and adorable but this version of Yugi was handsome, dare he say sexy with his more narrowed eyes, chiseled facial features, pieces of golden bangs shooting up into the spikes of his hair, and his slightly more muscular physique as he seemed to carry himself with pride and confidence as he stood there with a hand on his hip. Salem blushed slightly when he not only thought that the normal version of Yugi was cute but he also blushed when he thought that this version of Yugi was both handsome and sexy, he scolded himself for having those kind of thoughts about his friend and he also blamed it on that extremely weird dream that he had last night when he went to bed.
"Huh? What the-" Seto started to say as he looked at the now transformed Yugi in shock.
"Now, Kaiba, prepare yourself, because it's time to duel!" Yami Yugi said with a confident smile on his face.
"Virtual systems ready, so let's begin." Seto said having got over his shock as he pulls a card from the five cards in his hand that he had drawn previously to starting the duel and placed the card on the dashboard of the platform he's on. "I attack with the mighty Hitotsu-Me Giant. Brace yourself, Yugi. You've never dueled like this before." He added as the rectangle infront of him glowed as a giant version of his monster appeared on his side of the field as Salem couldn't help but flinch at the menacing growl the monster let out.
"He's brought the monster on the card to life." Yami Yugi said as he looked at the Hitotsu-Me Giant as he recoils slightly in shock at the sight infront of him.
"It's my virtual simulator. It creates lifelike holograms of every duel monster." Seto said explaining what exactly his stadium does.
"So this is how you beat my grandfather." Yami Yugi said now realizing that Kaiba overwhelmed his grandpa with these holograms as he held up the card he needed to beat the giant infront of him. "Well, now it's my turn. I call on the Winged Dragon, Guardian Of The Fortress!" He said as he placed the card down on the dashboard of his platform as a blue dragon that was a bit more cute than menacing appeared on the glowing part of his side of the field infront of him.
"Wha- monsters?! Real monsters?!" Joey asked in shock having just arrived to the dueling arena to see what was happening.
Salem tugged on Joey's jacket sleeve to get his attention now that he noticed his blond friend next to him, "No their holograms, this is how he beat Solomon." He signed once the taller male was looking at him.
"Seriously? Man he's more than a sleaze, he's a total ass!" Joey said as he shot a glare in Kaiba's general direction.
'Hate to agree with you on that Joey, but you're right. He is a total ass.' Salem thought to himself as he watched the two monster holograms stare each other down.
TBC.
