JAIME LANNISTER
JAIME TWO MONTHS AGO
Jaime's heart sores as he had seen and spoken to his true King. A King worth serving and risking everything for. Before he didn't care and now he has a reason to care and regain his honor. When he arrives in King's Landing he goes to see the King , first and officially swear his oath. He stays in King's Landing so that he can speak with Ser Barristan.
Jaime is invited to dine with the Queen, but he ignores the invitation. "I saw him Ser Barristan…I saw Rhaegar's son."
"So you will go against your sister and her children?"
"I tell you this in confidence. Cersei's children are mine…" He tells him about their relationship which had been going on since they were ten and two. "When Cersei married she broke things off. She wanted to be a good wife and Queen. On their wedding night Robert called her Lyanna. Eight months later my sister lost the first baby and instead of comforting his wife Robert went whoring and hunting in that order…That is when she came to me and I comforted her. She swore she would never have another child for Robert…"
"What is the plan?"
"The King has the North and the North brings the Riverlands, His Grace will offer marriage to House Tyrell and House Martell will join us as well."
"Are you sure?"
"I am. He is on his way to Old Valyria as we speak."
"Why?"
"A necessary journey is all he would say…Ser Barristan I ask that you protect my children and Cersei as well…When the time comes…Keep them safe from Robert's wrath…"
He nods, "I will."
"I have the gold cloaks in my pocket…They are with you."
"You should know the Queen is with child."
The news of Cersei's child complicates things, but who fathered the child. As Jaime is leaving the next day, he is approached by Cersei. "What are you playing at?"
He doesn't answer right away staring at her swollen stomach, "How do you mean?"
"I know you killed the Mountain and Lorch. Why?"
"They were mad dogs that had to be put down."
"Faithful men who served our family!"
"I hear you are with child. Who is the father?"
She tries to slap him. "Robert is the father of course!"
"Why? How? You said you would never again."
"He was in a mood and he apologized…I drank moon tea, but the child still grew within me. Jaime I love you…I need you now more than ever."
He wanted to tell her, but he could not. "I have to go."
CERSEI
Brokenhearted by Jaime's abrupt departure and numerous rejections Cersei. So she summons Ser Meryn Trant and then her cousin Lancel. "I want you to head West and spy on my brother."
"But I'm the King's Squire I can't just leave."
"Ser Meryn will Knight you and I will be witness."
He takes a knee, "Lancel Lannister…Do you swear to uphold the King's Peace, to Defend the weak and the innocent. And to seek justice and honor."
"I swear."
"Then I Ser Meryn Trant Knight thee Ser Lancel Lannister…Stand and be recognized."
Cersei signs the document of Knighthood as a witness, then she excuses Trant. "Now I need you to go to the Rock and spy on my brother…Report to me everything he is doing."
"Yes My Queen." He leaves the next day by ship.
JAIME
He traveled back West via the Golden Road A Raven had been sent to let his family know that he is on the way home and wanted to meet with them as soon as he got there. After two weeks of travel Jaime reaches Casterly Rock. He bathes and changes his clothes before meeting with his family in the Solar. "Alright let sus begin. Where are we?"
"The Fleet now stands at three hundred ships with ten more ready to sail." Kevin says.
"Excellent Uncle." He looks at his brother. "Tyrion."
"I have cleaned out Castamere…We have access to the gold and the vaults…I have already begun reconstruction on the Castle."
"Well done brother." Jaime shows Gerion the document legitimizing his daughter Joy. They discuss other family business as well. "What I am about say remains in this room. Hold your questions and comments until I finish. Prince Rhaegar married Lyanna Stark in secret…Their son Aegon Targaryen was raised as Lord Stark's bastard son…I met with him and I have pledged the West to his crown." He tells them everything about Aegon's allies, Cersei and the children, everything. They each respond differently.
KEVIN
He shakes his head, "You father fought to put down the Targaryen rule."
"My Father fought for himself and his legacy. He didn't even enter the war until the battle of the Trident was decided. Rhaegar was going to overthrow his father. Both I and Rhaegar sent him many letters and he ignored them."
"Your mother had just died and he was grieving!"
"And what about what he ordered the Mountain to do?" Kevin looks away in shame.
GERION
"I am no fan of Robert's he is a bad King. For what he did to Cersei that alone would make me want to rebel. But Jaime, what about this new baby? A true born child of Robert's."
"And how long will it be before Robert compares this child to my children. He'll kill Cersei and the Children."
"So when will this Aegon be ready to strike?"
"He will contact me when he returns North to Winterfell."
"We need to make sure Cersei is well protected."
Jaime nods, "She is…I bought the loyalty of the Gold Cloaks. And Ser Barristan is with me."
TYRION
"Aunt Genna you have been quiet." Jaime says.
She stands up, walks around the table, and takes Jaime by the shoulders. "I am proud of you. You saved all those people from a horrible death. You avenged that poor woman and her children. I see how and why you have been a better version of yourself. I am with you."
Tyrion remains in his seat after everyone leaves. Jaime pours wine for the both of them, "Are you with me brother?"
"Always big brother…Besides I am looking forward to look on Cersei's face when she finds out." Jaime shakes his head, "So what is this Aegon like…" They talk for hours.
LANCEL
"Hello mother." He says walking up behind Dorma in the Garden.
"Lancel." She hugs him, "What are you doing home?"
"Mother I'm a Knight…It's Ser Lancel now."
She kisses him on the cheek, "The King Knighted you?"
"I was Knighted by a King's Guard."
"Was it Ser Barristan…"
After speaking to his mother Lancel goes to his room and gets settled. His mother was disappointed that Ser Meryn Trant Knighted him. Once he's unpacked Lancel goes to see his father. Kevin orders a feast for his son's return home. "Cousin! I heard you were home."
"Lord Jaime."
"We are family Cuz. Why so formal?"
"Well you are the Lord of Casterly Rock."
He grabs him, "And don't forget that as you try to spy for my sister."
"I…"
He slaps his face with a gentle tap, "Don't try to lie. I have eyes and ear in King's Landing. Now what did she promise you?"
"She made me a Knight."
"Congratulations Ser Lancel…Who Knighted you?"
"Ser Meryn Trant."
Jaime laughs, "Meryn Trant…When I was member of the Guard Trant was the least of us. In skill and name. The man is a pig, unworthy of the titles Knight and King's Guard. "You will spy for my sister and you tell her what I want her to know. Understand?"
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes…Cousin." Jaime nods and walks away. Lancel first message is that Jaime is reinforcing the Lannister Fleet and army as if he is preparing for war.
