The Forbidden Genre

Xinqiu walked out of Monstadt's library a happy man. Not only did he find some books he had on his list, but he also found many more series that he'd like to start! The mystery of the Snowy Peak, the conclusion to the Fish and the Whale, and even the continuation of a series he just finished! The librarian helped him find everything he needed. She even recommended a personal favorite of hers since he came all the way from Liyue Harbor.

He had to get started right away! The seats and food over at the Good Hunter would do perfectly for a reading session. Aether wouldn't mind if he just read for a few hours, right?

He picked up the recommendation and laid it upon the wooden table for him to read. The book was in a section he never visited before: the Adult section. The people in Liyue never let him get anything from there but he guessed that the land of freedom would allow it. He needed to know what he was getting himself into as he got older anyways.

There were a few bookmarks from the librarian herself. There was a mark near the beginning, so he figured he'd start there.

As soon as he started he couldn't stop himself.

As much as he wanted to stop reading, his eyes were stuck on the texts. It sucked him in on the first sentence. A fierce battle was being fought. He could hear the exchanging of blows and the creaking of wood, along with every single detail his poor mind could produce.

Is this really what Adults read about instead of delving deep into fantastical stories to occupy their time? Is this what he had to look forward to?

A familiar hand with a knowing smirk slammed down on his table, breaking Xingqiu's trance. "Enjoying the book?"
