The lunch bell rang and I followed Percy to a table full of teenagers. There were so many. Percy introduced them as Jason, Nico, Leo, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Travis and Connor, Katie, Reyna, Thalia, Grover, Will, Selina, and Beckandorf. Wow, that's a lot of names I have to remember. He introduced me and they all said hello. Now I'm wishing that I wore something presentable. There was a spot open between Leo and Thalia, so I went and sat down between them. Thalia had a punk rock complexion, spiky black hair, black clothes, and jewelry. Leo, on the other hand, looked like he had no sense of what people thought of him. He wore a white collared shirt with black suspenders that matched his black tennis shoes. His brown curly hair sat on his head messily, he kept having to brush the locks out of his brown eyes.

"Hi, I'm Leo Valdez Bad Boy Supreme at your service!" Said Leo smugly.

"Oh my gods, Leo, it's the girl's first day don't scare her off!" Scolded Thalia.

Leo ignored her and kept smiling at me,

"I'm sorry, what was that Thalia?" He said, being annoying.

"Leo-," she was cut off by him.

"Sorry, I can't hear you over my awesomeness."

I burst into a fit of giggles. I saw Jason roll his eyes at Leo, who was sitting next to him.

"You are so annoying, Leo," said Jason.

"Thank you!" Leo said, not taking it as an insult.

It was hilarious to hear them bicker, even though I just met them. Thalia was about to say something when Percy spoke up,

"Do you guys want to have a sleepover at my house tonight?" Everyone cheered, agreeing immensely. How are we going to fit all these people in one house, I thought to myself. I wonder if this will be a new start, and everything will be happy from now on. No distractions. Maybe my dad will actually care for me now, or will I have to keep striving for his attention? My step-mom has always been kind, she's like a mom to me. But I kind of wish I knew my real mom. I wish I could just forget my past and be happy in the present. Yeah, that's never going to happen. With my luck it will follow me here.

"Annabeth?" I was snapped out of my wallowing by Thalia's concerned voice.

"Uh, yeah?" I asked.

"Are you okay? You're kind of just sitting there."

"Oh, yeah I'm fine!" I said, faking a smile. That seemed to be enough for her and she left me alone.

"So what should we do at the sleepover?" Asked Piper deviously.

"I swear if you make me jump in the pool, fully clothed, in -1 degree weather again, I'll pulverize you," said Nico, shivering.

Everyone at the table laughed except me and Nico. They started discussing what we would do. They decided on a lot of things, I couldn't keep track. I know it's not that exciting but I am. When they stopped talking Percy looked at me and asked,

"That cool with you Annabeth?"

"Yeah, I just have to call my dad to tell him I won't be home," I answered, "oh and I need to get my stuff too so I have a change of clothes,"

I mean, it's not like my dad would care if I was missing anyways but I still like to check in. Everyone nodded, satisfied. For the remaining few minutes of lunch I talked to Leo and Thalia, getting to know them better. When lunch ended we parted ways. Me, Percy, and Leo had science next. A sleepover? Hm, this should be fun.

a sleepover! You know some drama is going to go down in there
