A new chapter? In the same day? I don't know I was bored so I was like, why not? All I've done today is nothing so might as well update my fanfiction. Remember to review! Enjoy!

I stood outside with the others waiting for my dad to pick up the phone. School had ended a few minutes ago and we were waiting for everyone out front. A chilling gust of wind blew hair in my face. I wrapped my jacket tighter around me. Geez, November is freezing in New York.

"Hello?" My dad answered the phone, it sounded like he was in traffic.

"Hi, dad, so I made some friends at school and they invited me to a sleepover," I said quickly, "Is it okay if I go?"

"Yeah, yeah it's fine."

He hung up the phone just like that and I tucked mine back in my bag. Percy looked at me expectantly.

"So, what'd he say?"

"He said yes," I told him. His face lit up and he put his arm around my waist.

"Awesome, wait until you see my house!" I blushed and looked away, not expecting this kind of affection. Once everyone was here we split up into different cars and Percy's mom, Sally, drove me to my house to get my stuff. As I was packing I noticed a photo hung on my wall that wasn't there before. I was standing there holding up a large trophy. The trophy read 1st place annual math competition. My two front teeth were gone and I had my curly hair in two little ponytails. I remember that, in third grade our class participated in a math competition, it was on TV and everything. I had scored the most points and won it for my team. Before the competition I practiced non-stop for what felt like years. It was the best feeling ever, being on that stage, people clapping for me and my classmates. I felt like a champion. A little post-it note was stuck to the side of it and I took it off and read it.

Remember to never give up, if you push through and keep trying you achieve great things. You matter, and you are loved.

Love,

Kerry

I felt my eyes tear up, I love my step-mom so much, she does so much for me. I finished packing my bag and climbed downstairs.

"Where are you off to, young lady?" Said Kerry deviously from behind me. I smiled a genuine smile at her, excited to share the news.

"I got invited to a sleepover with some new friends I made!"

She came over and hugged me.

"Aw! Honey, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!"

"I also got your little addition to my room," I mentioned. "Thank you so much, I love you!"

"Anytime, dear." She said. Then she let go of me and pushed me to the door,

"Now go, have fun!"

I laughed and ran out to Percy's car that was waiting for me. I got in next to Percy and buckled my seat belt.

"You just like to take your sweet time, don't you?" Nagged Percy.

"Oh, shut up!" I playfully hit him and he laughed at my annoyance. Sally started the drive to the house and when we got there, everyone else was waiting for us.

"What took you so long?" Complained Leo.

"Be quiet, Valdez," chided Frank. I looked up and gasped. Percy's house was huge, in the front was a pathway leading to the mansion only to be parted by a big fountain with Greek statues decorating it. The path broke off to the side of the house, which I could not see, but I could imagine there was a deluxe pool back there. We made our way to the front doors and I gaped in awe at the incredible architecture of the building. It was at least 3 stories high with Greek pillars in the front and the doors were large and wooden.

"Wow…" I said when I found my voice again.

"Yup, our man Percy is freaking rich," said Connor. Percy just rolled his eyes and unlocked the door.

A cliff hanger? Well not a big one lol but you'll have to wait for tomorrow to find out what happens next!
