I'm bored, so here's another chapter! More Percabeth fluff in this one, I promise.
By 2:00am I gave up sleeping and brought my book light out to read my book. I'm reading the Serafina series right now. It's so good, it lets me escape from the real world and enter the twisted, dark, and enlightening world of Serafina's. Braeden has me on my knees, he's so cute! Yes, that's me, crushing on fictional characters. I probably had read for about 30 minutes when I heard rustling from beside me. I looked over a saw Percy was sitting upright, rubbing his eyes. He looked over at me and raised his eyebrows,
"Can't sleep?" He asked.
I shook my head, turning the light on my book light down.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" I said, realizing I might've.
"Oh, no, no. You're good, I was awake before,"
I nodded, relieved. He pointed to my book and asked,
"What are you reading?"
"Serafina and The Splintered Heart," I said, glad I had an excuse to talk about my book.
"Why can't you sleep?" I asked, making conversation. He looked away, and ran his hand through his messy hair. Right then I noticed he was shirtless, my heart did a little backflip. Dang, that boy had abs! My face heated up and I tried to look anywhere but his abs.
"Oh I don't know, I have a lot on my mind," he said, answering my question. "What about you? Why are you up?"
"I just couldn't sleep, I guess," I said, not knowing exactly why I can't.
Percy got up, pulling on a sweatshirt, covering up his abs. I got to admit, I'm kind of disappointed.
"You want a snack?" He quietly walked to the kitchen, trying not to wake anyone up.
I said yes and followed him to the kitchen. I pulled out a stool from the island and sat down. Percy pulled out some ice cream from the freezer, and took out two bowls from the cabinet.
"Ice cream? At 2:00am?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. He smirked and shrugged.
"Why not?"
He gave me my bowl and I scooped the creamy, sweet, ice cream into my mouth. Oh, it's so good. Percy swallowed his bite and slumped against the counter across from me.
"So, what's your story? Backstory? Anything I should know?" He asked awkwardly, swirling his spoon around in his ice cream. My heart race quickened, nervous to share anything personal. Percy seems like a good person, maybe I can trust him. I took a deep breath and said,
"Well...I'm bisexual," I stuffed my mouth with ice cream. Percy just smiled.
"Don't be embarrassed! I think it's cool that you're bi!"
I blushed, he's so kind.
"That just means that we can talk about cute girls together," he nudged me and I laughed, but quickly covered my mouth so I wouldn't wake the others. I felt so comfortable with him, he's so amazing.
"Well, I have a dad, a step-mom, and two step-brothers."
"I have a step-parent too!" Said Percy. "I have a step-dad, Paul, he's a great person, and a half sister, Estelle."
After that we kind of sat there in a comfortable silence. I feel so happy with him, I haven't felt this way since Rachel. I was devastated when she left me, I didn't know what to do with my life.
"Hey, follow me, I want to show you something," Percy took my hand and led me out a backdoor into the cold night air. I shivered, the cold air stinging my bare arms. I shouldn't have brought a tank top.
"Look," Percy whisperers as he points to the sky. I gasped. The night sky was dotted with millions of stars, I'd never seen them so clearly, living in the city.
"It's beautiful," I said in awe, the stars dancing in my eyes as I took in the magic of it all. I felt Percy drape his jacket over my bare shoulders. I looked at his starry sea green eyes, it was almost as if romance was literally shining with the stars...
