This chapter is just Annabeth getting to know the other girls a little more. Please review! Also thank you to 'the wise mushroom' for reviewing! Your feedback means a lot! Enjoy!
We stayed out there talking for a few more minutes then decided we should get some sleep because we have school in a few hours. I climbed back into my sleeping bag and immediately drifted off to sleep. When I woke up Piper and Hazel were already up and talking. I sat up and rubbed my tired eyes.
"Mornin'," I said tiredly. I got up to go sit with them on the couch.
"Morning, girl!" whispered Piper. "You want some coffee?"
"Heck yes," I said stretching. Piper got up to make more and me and Hazel were left on the couch. She looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"So, who's jacket?" she asked.
"Huh?" I said, oblivious. Hazel laughed softly and shook her head.
"The one you're wearing, silly! You didn't have it last night when we all went to bed."
I suddenly remembered that I was still wearing Percy's jacket from the night before. I quickly took it off and stuffed it in my bag.
"U-um, it was just in my bag, I never took it out until we went to bed because I got cold!" I lied frantically. Hazel obviously didn't believe me but just shrugged and let it go. Her dark brown skin stood out against her light pink pyjamas. Her golden brown hair glinted in the morning sunlight. She turned back to me and smiled,
"Me and the rest of the girls are going to the mall this Saturday, do you want to come?" she asked. Where were these people all my life? All I've had were toxic friends...until now.
"I'd love that! Thank you for inviting me!"
"Any time, girl!" She smiled, flashing her teeth, "how about we go see how Piper is doing with the coffee?"
We got up just as Piper was pouring the coffee into three mugs. She strategically poured the cream in, making little designs.
"Hey, girlies!" said Piper, not looking up from the coffee. "Hazel, did you invite her to the mall on Saturday?"
"Yup!" Hazel said, taking her mug.
"Awesome, which stores should we hit up first?" asked Piper, handing me my mug.
"Claire's?" suggested Hazel. I've been to Claire's a few times, and, trust me, it's hard to leave. Piper nodded, her messy hair getting in her light brown face. My phone buzzed on the counter next to me. I picked it up to see what it was.
Good morning! Was the sleepover fun?
It was a text from Kerry. I sent my response and set my phone back on the counter. No one else was awake yet, it's almost seven we should probably get to that. School starts at 8:30 so we have some time.
"Who's going to be there?" I finally asked. Piper counted on her fingers, trying to remember everyone.
"Okay, let's see," she started, "Thalia, me, you, Hazel, Reyna couldn't make it, Katie, and Selina."
"What about me?" Selina's voice came from behind us. Her black hair was perfect, not knots or crazy whisps, I have no idea how that girl does it!
"Something about a mall day this Saturday," said Thalia from behind her. Selina squealed, and started ranting about what stores we should go to. She emphasised Hollister and said we had to go there. We all laughed at her excitement and the others started to wake up. Percy stumbled, shirtless, into the kitchen and stood next to me.
"Pipes, how come you didn't make me any coffee?" he whined.
"How bout' a 'Piper can you please make me some coffee?'" she grumbled, and started making more for everyone else.
"Morning, Annabeth," said Percy, leaning closer to me. "Can I have my sweater back?" he whispered. I gave him a smug look,
"I don't know, can you?"
He rolled his eyes, smiling, and let go of it. Leo stretched, also shirtless, as he walked into the room. He yawned and took a seat at one of the stools in the island.
"What's this talk about a mall day?" he asked.
"The boys are not invited, sorry, Repair Boy!" said Piper with no sympathy in her voice.
"Whyyyy?" he whined.
"Because y'all are annoying," said Piper flat out, handing him his coffee. Not that he needed any, that boy can run for hours on one slice of pizza without running out of energy. Leo just sighed,
"Guess i'll just be alone, lonely, and depressed on Saturday then."
"Oh, shut up!" she slapped him and he laughed, his brown face lighting up. A few people, including me, went off to change into day clothes. As I pulled on my clothes I thought about how much my life had changed in just a day. I mean, sure I just met these people and I barely know them, but I have a feeling they're good people. After everyone was done getting ready, Nico and Will made pancakes for all of us. I had no idea Nico could bake. He's so...quiet. And emo for that matter. Will, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. He's so cheery and loud. His aura as a whole is sunny. I have a feeling the two are dating. All of us inhaled our pancakes and rushed out so we wouldn't be late for school. I got into Percy's car and we were off.
