1935
Bella fell backwards, gasping for air before as Paul leapt over her and Seth skidded to a halt beside her. Paul froze as he noticed both Seth and himself were back in human form. What went unnoticed by the trio was a large white wolf watching their movements in curiosity from afar.
"What the fucking hell just happened? Where is that damned leech at?" Paul snarled as he and Seth made eye contact.
"Wouldn't the correct questions be… where is everyone?" Seth asked just above a whisper, "and why are we in our human forms?"
Paul scoffed, "I think all questions are fucking valid, Clearwater."
Seth raised an eyebrow in response, "Is that so?"
Paul simply he nodded in agreement when both of the boys noticed that Bella had gone still on the forest ground, covered in blood.
"Shite." Paul swore as Seth reached over to Bella to start checking on her vitals, like he saw his mother do for years at the Clinic.
"Look at her arm it looks like she lost a lot of blood…" Seth started as Paul cut him off.
"Fuck her arm look at that fucking neck." Both boys took a second to see the state Bella was in. She was paler than normal with deep purple bruises forming on her neck and her left forearm, and just below the bruises on her arm was a large cut that went from half way down her forearm all the way to her wrist and a cut on her hand. The knife Bella had just used to cut her hand was lodged inside her are right next to a large piece of metal that stuck out of the cut on her arm.
"Fuck." Paul cursed as Seth snapped out of his disbelief and jumped into action. He tore a piece of her shirt off and quickly wrapped it around her arm, careful not to pull the knife out or move the metal.
"We have to get her to Dr. Leech." Paul scoffed, cutting Seth off.
"Paul if we don't… she could die." Seth's voice cracked at the word die but he spoke just loud enough for Paul to hear. A very unhappy Paul nodded in agreement as Seth picked Bella's limp body up. Once he held her bridal style in his arms Seth was able to hear a faint heartbeat, giving him a small ounce of hope that they wouldn't be too late.
"Let's try the doc first. He would help her..." Paul nodded in response and both boys headed to where they knew where the Cullen's residence to be. It was a short journey from where they were, but the closer the boys got, the more uneasy they began to feel. Staying unnoticed to both boys, the large white wolf followed them at a distance just far enough to go undetected. As they came up to where the house used to stand they saw only woods where the house should be located.
"This is where they be should be. What is going on?" Seth began to panic looking down to see an unconscious Bella whose life was held in his hands.
"I don't know but let's get her to your mom at the Clinic, Clearwater. She will know what to do."
"Will we have enough time?" Seth asked.
"We have too. We kill leeches not humans who make stupid fucking descions." Paul responded, sending Seth a reassured look. Seth gave a small nod in return.
Both boys turned and took off to La Push, because of their wolf speed they were there in minutes. But as they entered the outskirts of La Push, with them still being inside the woods, they noticed that something was off as many people were not dressed as they should be but in traditional clothing that they have seen and studied since a young age. Both boys froze for a second and exchanged a look and knew they had to do something to not be seen.
"What is this?" Seth asked Paul.
The white wolf followed the boys to La Push in pure curiosity of what three humans who appeared out of thin air could want with a small reservation such as La Push. Curious indeed.
"Stay here. I will be right back." Paul whispered.
"You don't get to tell me what to do Paul. I need to help her. I need to take her to the Clinic!" Seth began to lightly shake.
"For once just believe when I say, Seth to stop being a fucking dumbass. Look around you. If we enter La Push looking like this we will only draw attention to ourselves. Now stay the fuck here and I will be right back."
To Paul's relief, Seth nodded in response to his statement allowing Paul to run off in the direction with the least amount of people in it. Two minutes later Paul returned wearing something similar to the inhabitants in La Push with two items in his hand. He handed one of the pieces of clothing to Seth.
"This one is for you. Put it on. Now."
Seth looked down at Bella before he nodded. He gently handed her to Paul and proceeded to put on the garments as quickly as possible. Once done he took Bella back out of Paul's arms then asked, "are those for Bella?"
Paul nodded. Seth began at what seemed like record speed in Paul's book, to undress Bella before turning back to Paul, blocking his view of Bella's state of undress, and grabbed the cloths out of Paul's hands and turned back to work on putting them on her.
"You know V-Card, if I didn't know any better, I would say you have done this before." Paul mused as Seth's eyes got incredibly wide as he started shaking his head.
"I haven't!"
"In general or with Bella?" Paul smirked as Seth simply glared at him in response. "If anyone asks we are brothers."
Seth head shot up at Paul's statement. "What do you mean if anyone asks?"
"Look around you. Yes, we are in La Push but not our La Push. The clothes alone should be obvious. I am not as smart as you but even you aren't stupid enough to think this is where we are from. Seth use that brain of yours before I smack sense into you. The question was not where we are but when. We have to get her help or she will die and if we ever make it back to our own time… I highly doubt that you want Leah and Jacob up your ass for letting her die. I know I sure as hell don't."
"Sure, sure." Seth whispered looking back down at Bella. Without arising suspension from the locals, the boys made their way to the clinic. They didn't speak as they noticed there were a few people watching them enter the clinic with a pale-face. Seth ran ahead of Paul as he called for help.
"Help! We need help!" He screamed in desperation. A man who seemed to be a tribal healer rushed over to see Seth holding a white woman.
"The pale face looks as if she were in a battle for her life." He spoke looking Seth in the eye. "Why did you bring her here? Why not take her to a pale face hospital?"
Having to think on his feet Seth's mouth spoke before he had the chance to process what he was saying, "Please help her. She was attacked and left for dead. You have to help her."
The man simply raised an eyebrow before responding, "That I can see. Who is she?"
"My wife."
Paul froze as he heard the statement come out of Seth's mouth, jaw slacking just fraction of a second before putting his poker face back up.
"Your wife…?" The man questioned.
Seth's eye got large once he realized the magnitude of his statement and what exactly he was claiming.
"My wife to be. We are supposed to get married in the spring. Can you help her?"
"I can and I shall. Stay here, I will do what I can."
The healer turned around taking Bella to the back room. Once alone again, Paul turned to face Seth.
"Your wife to be? That was the best you could fucking come up with? You could have said anything and you chose to say you were engaged? Do you realize what time we are in? That is barely accepted in our time much less in this fucking who-ville time." Paul hissed just low enough for the boys to hear but no one else.
"I panicked." Seth snapped back.
"Panicked? Clearwater, if I wasn't so sure that you two wern't playing a game of hid the fucking pickle, I would think you were in some sort of relationship with the way you've been acting. Whatever is going on you need to cut it the fuck out. If we get killed here because of you and your loud ass fucking mouth and your dumbass brain, I will make your ass misrible forever. Mark my god-damned words." Paul seethed in response. Both boys went quiet in order to hear what was going on with Bella, to no avail.
Seth just closed his eyes forcing the tears that were aching to come out to stay in but as he prayed to Taha Aki that Bella would live and that they could figure whatever had happened to the three of them out, he felt a single tear escape.

Author's Note: Welp, that was chapter one. I hope you guys liked it and thanks for the people who have already reviewed the Preface, it is much appreciated! Do not forget to read and review this chapter!
To answer a few questions that were asked in the reviews: No this will not be a Jacob/Bella story nor will it be an Edward/Bella story. It was never intended to be either so please don't get disappointed to see the outcome of what is the plan. There won't be any Jacob bashing or jealousy take place on either parts, his or hers. I will be posting as often as I can. But the goal is at least 2 times a week, it might be more in some weeks.
Every other chapter will be a 1936 chapter to give insight of what happened there and how long they were there. Which like I said before was much longer than a few hours. I have it stamped to be them being there for a couple of years but returning only hours after they left. All will be revealed as time goes on.
Who is the white wolf? Any guesses?
Until next time!
xx
