Intro
This is a prompt courtesy of my husband. It's not what he had in mind, but it is what came to my mind... and so it goes...
- Day 9 -
"It's time..."
"Is it?"
"It most definitely is..."
"Should I be worried?"
Twin grins was the only answer Harry received and he decided that yes... he indeed should be, at the bare minimum, quite concerned. The brunette winced as the twin red headed menaces practically skipped away out of the common room and through the portrait to their secret lab. Harry had thought of following them, even if he only did so with his newly acquired Marauder's map, but chose not to. Sometimes ignorance was bliss... and plausible deniability.
"Potter!"
It was just over a month later when it happened. Harry had honestly forgotten to be worried. More fool him. The twins hadn't caused any mayhem that he was aware of, so Harry had completely forgotten that he had cause to be concerned for his well being courtesy of the Weasley twins.
It was a Saturday morning and, more importantly, the first quidditch game of the season, Gryffindor vs Slytherin. Harry was sitting with his two friends trying to calm his stomach and his pre-game nerves with toast and tea when a number of rather upset Slytherins came into the Great Hall. In total, there had to be at least a dozen students that marched over to the Gryffindor table. Harry slowly lowered his cup and frowned at the intrusion.
Malfoy growled, "How do we get rid of them?"
"Get rid of... what?"
"You bloody well know what!"
Harry shrugged, "Hate to tell you, but no... I really don't."
Seamus and Dean came into the Great Hall laughing uproariously. The Irishman finally caught his breath long enough to ask, "How didja do it, Harry?"
"Do what?"
"Fill the snake's common room with bubbles!"
"What?"
"We heard them talking in the Entry Hall," Dean explained, "Said that there are hundreds of these colorful bubbles on the ceiling and if you walk under them, they pop and drop whatever their contents are on them."
Seamus continued, "They're sayin' tha' after one breaks, a new one takes its place."
Malfoy was sneering at Dean, but ignored him to glare at Harry, "You were spotted in the dungeons. Now how do we get rid of them?"
"I..." And then he saw them. The Weasley twins entered the Great Hall with huge grins on their faces. Harry slowly grinned at the duo before turning his attention back to Malfoy, "I'll never tell. And you'll never prove it was me."
