Hello everyone. So, lets get a few covered. This next part introduces a new character that a few of you guys might like. I hope you all enjoy this chapter and the ones that follow it. Please enjoy this chapter and I came up with a new nickname for my oc. Which I'll expalin in the end of this chapter to you all. Now let set out everyone.

Chapter 10 Varian The Alchemist
It was very early in the morning. As Valor quickly got herself dressed and gathered up her things. Ever since the coronation things well, things have been different.
Cassandra and Rapunzel had begged her to extend her stay. And she had caved in. Now she was getting ready to leave. Closing the door behind her and *sighing.* "Okay let's go find everyone." Adjusting her satchel and then sets off.

Rapunzel was sitting outside with Pascal on the terrace. As Cassandra walks over. "I was thinking about your hair. Maybe there is a way we can discreetly try to get some answers, just the two of us?" Cassandra said as she sat down next to Rapunzel. "Just two of you really?" They looked up to see the black haired teen walking over. "Last time I checked all of us are in this together." Valor came to a stop in front of girls and Pascal.
"Hey, Val? What's up with your bag?" Rapunzel asked her. "Well I'm leaving, but what's this about having a way to get answers? I'm kind of curious now." Valor leans on the rails smiling wolffish like.
"I was just about to explain it before you showed up Valor." Cassandra tells her. "Well? What is it?" Valor questions. "Well I might know someone who can help." Cassandra begins to explain. "But, I think you're still being unfair about Eugene." Rapunzel adds.
"I agree with Rap. He might not be able to keep secrets very well, but he very trustworthy now. I should know. I did travel with him once." Valor jumps in defending him. "Thanks Val, but I am curious who this friend of your is Cass." Rapunzel adds with a smile.
"His name is Varian, and he's some kind of wizard." Cassandra said with a mysterious tone. Rapunzel gasp. "Wow! A real wizard? Do you think he'll have one of those pointy hats, a robe and a staff and cast spells." Valor couldn't hold back her laughter.
Everyone looks over at her as she breaks out laughing. "You-You, think, he-he's a wiz-oh.. *laughing* ..oh, m-man. That's- That's so, comical." Valor laughs. Before letting out a long sigh as she catches her breath.
"Listen guys. He's no wizard. He doesn't cast spells, he doesn't wear a robe nor owns a pointy hat." Valor adds crossing her arms and smiles.
"How would you know that? Have you meet him? Because there rumors say he's dangerous." Cassandra asked her. Valor grins. "Well.. So am I... I am a werewolf after all." She light-heartedly joked showing her unusual sharp canine teeth.
"Look, how about you meet him yourself, and see. And.. since I am heading that way I'll tag along. What do you say Rapunzel?" Valor offers them.
"Well if we want answers, he's our best bet. Right?" Rapunzel asked. Cassandra nods. "All right road trip!" Valor yelps happily, and jumps with a fist in the air. "Shh." Cassandra reminds her. "Sorry." She apologizes with a sheepishly with a smile.

While the girls and Pascal embarked on their mission. To see Varian. Eugene and Max had visited the Snuggle Duckling. Right now Big Nose was reading his poem he wrote.
"We keep no secrets, me and you, our love stays fresh like the morning... dew." He read. Max looks out the window bored out of his mind. As Big Nose began to explain the poem. Max then noticed something. Grabbing Eugene bringing him to the window.
Just was Cassandra and Rapunzel walks by on Fidella while Valor walks next to them. "Ha-ha! I gotta go. This has been great." Opening the door, Max walks out first. "You keep within those words down, 'cause one of these days.. you'll have more of 'em. Okay. Bye everybody." With that Eugene shouts the door.
Shorty wakes up. "Good morning! Hey, Big Nose, what's goin' on with that lady that you have?" He asked him.
Big Nose clears his throat and flips his note pad back to the beginning. While the others groan in irritation.

As they reached Old Corona. They began to towards Varian's house. "So, this is where Varian lives." Valor tells them. As they approached his home. "It seems cozy, in a I-wish-I-had-said-goodbye-to-my-loved-ones-before-I-left kind of way." Rapunzel said. Valor chuckles. "Come on. He's not that scary." Valor exclaims lightly before Cassandra could knock the place shook and the door open on there own.
Rapunzel and Cassandra exchange glances. Then walked in. "Guys you might want to watch your step. Follow me." Valor in forms them. As they approached the door with purple smoke coming from it. Cassandra opens it as they walk in. "It's just fog. I'm sure it's okay." Then there was a creaking sound as... "Cass wait!" Valor shouts as sound of a trip wire being sprung echoed.
Next thing they knew a pink ball of something explodes around them leaving everyone coughing. "Really." Valor grumbles with irritation. Though the trip wire trap was her idea. "Fine.. A booby trap!" Rapunzel said as they tugged their feet.
Valor growls lowly. Last time she ever got
stuck in this, it took all day for them to find a reversal formula. "Raps, everything's gonna be-oh!" Then both Cassandra gasped as someone stood looking at them with glowing eyes. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" His voice was distorted and loud as he spoke.
Valor watches tapping her fingers to her arms. While Rapunzel tried to act brave in front of him. "Um... hi. So sorry to bother you sir." Valor snickers in amusement. "Sssir?" She laughs.
Cassandra looks at her then at the person I'm in front of them.
"I.. wanted to ask you about my hair. Because you're such a magic exp.." Valor laughs as his voice booms. "...MAGIC? I DON'T WORK WITH MAGIC." He tells them. But pulls back the mask he wore. Revealing a scrawny, fair skinned, freckled 14 year old boy. With black hair and a blue streak in his bangs and light blue eyes.
"I mean, technically it's not magic. It's alchemy, but... yeah.. don't.. don't sweat it." He said. Rapunzel laughs "got it." She said. "So, what is this?" Rapunzel asked. "Oh, it's.. it's a chemical compound of my own design. Thank you." Varian begins removing his coat and the mask. "And the trap was Laver's work." Cassandra glares as Valor grins sheepishly back.
"See, we have a bit of a critter problem out here, and through the miracle of modern alchemy." Varian begins explaining as they look over to a raccoon who was freeing him from the chemical compound.
"We've found a humane way to solve the problem." He explains as he throws the raccoon out of the room and outside. "This riveting, but could you get us out of here?" Cassandra asked. "Ha!" Varian began padding himself down. "Where is that neutralizing parti.. oh c-come.. get out of here!" He said to the raccoon by his tail throwing him back out. Then he shuts the and walks over.
"I see he's still a pain." Valor adds. "Yeah. Third time this week he set off the trap." Varian explains. "Whoa.. must be trying to set a record." Valor chuckles earning a grin from Varian. "So, why are back so late? You said you'll be gone just for the weekend." He asked her. "Well, it kind of has something to do with the reason the princess is here." Valor explains to him gesturing to the others.
"Look you two can catch up later. Right now can you free us like you said." Cassandra intrudes glances at them. Valor sighs as Varian shakes the neutralizing chemical compound over the goo. Laughing slightly. "I am sorry, Lavender, and Your Highness." He said kneeling and bowing in front of Rapunzel.
Valor steps forwards. "It's cool." As for Rapunzel she was shocked a bit. "Your Highness? Wait. You know who I am?" She asked him. "Uh, how could I not. Laver talks about you a lot and..*laughs*..Look at your hair! Ha!" Varian gestured to braid hair before clearing his throat. "Your Highness."
Valor had to admit. He may not have many friends, but he does respect authority and is kind. "Oh, please. Just Rapunzel." She said to him in a dismissive manner. "Wow. Ready? Okay." Varian agrees the walks around them looking at Rapunzle's hair.
"So, fantastical stories of your hair returning have spread throughout Corona. Yeah people say it's magic but personally. I don't really believe that. Now, as you have probably guessed, I am a man of science, specifically al.." "..alchemy. We know." Cassandra interrupts him. Clearly annoyed with his ranting.
"Now listen kid. We need your help. What let myself clear." Cassandra leans in threateningly and grabs his shirt. "What happens here stays here, you got it?!"
Valor walks over. "Okay, Cassandra, can you please release him. Goggles here won't tell trust me. I should know." Cassandra looks at her with the same stare. "Laver's right. I won't tell. I mean who would I tell? *laughing nervously* Lavender is my only friend and uh, since she clearly already knows soo..." Varian cast his light blue eyes from Cassandra to Valor and back to Cassandra. With an exaggerated sigh Cassandra rolls her gray eyes then released him.
Brushing off his apron. "Follow me, Your.. Rapunzel." He said leading the way. Rapunzel eagerly follows him. Cassandra half glares at Valor. Who just walks past her.

Rapunzel laid her hair on the table while Varian looks at through a giant moving magnifying glass lens. Valor stood just behind while Cassandra a few inches on the other side. Pascal sat on table watching.
"Oh, yes, this... this.. Ah.. is.. it's very.. long." Varian said getting to the end. He was a bit shocked, but quickly snaps from it. Rapunzel gives slight frown. Valor was wondering if she will rethink this.
"Oh, no, don't worry, Your.. Rapunzel." He leans on the magnify glass lens. "I am sure that I, Varian, can unlock the mystery of your hair with power of SCIENCE!" Varian shouts out with confidence hitting the lens with his hand.
As the lens quickly spun back around. Valor manage to duck in time, but a *THUD* echoed as the lens hit Varian on the back of his head instead. "OW!" He shouts out. Wincing he places his hand behind his head.
Everyone looks over at him in concern. Only when as he removes his hand from behind his head. He sees blood on his glove. "Heh. No sweat, it's just a little..." Varian sways and passed out. Valor managed to catch him. As he fell backwards and into her.
Supporting him with her arms. As he hung limply there. Everyone looks at her and Varian.
Sheepishly, Valor smiles and replies. "I guess I should have told you. He, gets queasy over blood and passes out." Cassandra sighed. "You know my hair use to have healing powers. Maybe we can see if it still does." Rapunzel suggested. "Great now let's wake him up and test it." Cassandra walks over to him. "HEY! SNAP OUT OF IT!" She shouts at him.
"Huh? What? Happened?!" He asked as he woke. Standing up. "You fainted." Valor tells him. Varian winces and reaches back with his hand only to have Valor grab it. He looks over at her. "Oh, no you don't, Var. I am not having you pass out on meee.. a-gain Valor exaggerates the last half. Releasing his hand.
"Sorry, Laver." Varian apologize. Valor grins back. "It's fine.. better me then falling dead on the floor." Then she turns back to look at the others. "Well, while you were out. Raps, here got an idea..."
All right. Varian is here and ready to help. For starters, Valor got the nickname Lavender because of a dyed purple streak in her hair. So, Varian either calls her Laver, Lave for short to do to this little detail. I wanted to give Valor a nickname that Varian alone would cll her. Since Eugene call her Wolfe and Raps and Cass call her Val most of the time. I thought why not give Varian his own nickname for her as well. I have nicanmes on the back burner that other charcters will call her, but I keep those under wraps until then.
Varian reminds me so much of Hiro from Big Hero 6 with that brain of his. Maybe that's why he's one of my top favorite charcters from the tv series. I really hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Please leave reviews if you desire and I will catch you in the next chapter. Bye
