Chapter 11 Varian Meets Flynn Rider
Outside of the house Eugene and the horses waited. Looking at his pocket watch. "Ugh. What's taking-'em so long?" Groaning as he closed the watch. "I'm going in!" He declares.
Then an apple fell from a tree hitting Max on the era head. Turning, he noticed an apple tree next to him. Hungrily he approaches it. But his legs set off an other booby trap. Set up by Varian. Which caused both horses to get stuck in pink sticky goo.
Then Varian's raccoon friend scampers over. He climbs onto Max. Taking an apple and hurried off. Max snorts and glaring at the apple thief. As the core hits him on the head. Max snorts again and glares after the raccoon.

Back inside Rapunzel and Cassandra had tried to convince Varian to let Rapunzel try healing his head. And with him being a none magic believer wasn't easy. Valor was the one in the end who managed to convince him to just test to see if it was possible. Even though she has seen it. Part of her wasn't too sure it was the same well... uh...hair. Now he was sitting there on a chair with her hair on his head.

Yet nothing happened. No glow. It was just plain old 70 foot long golden hair. "Better?" Rapunzel asked him as he removes the hair. "Oh, yeah..." looks at his glove with blood. Wincing. "..No!" Varian said quickly shaking his head. "Huh.. that used to work." Rapunzel said clearly confused.
"Used to... I am starting to think. It's not the same hair you once had." Valor beings to realize as she takes a strand. Varian hold up other parts. "Well, silver lining: we've acquired some critical data about your hair. Just like Laver said. It looks like it no longer possesses its legendary healing powers." Varian said to her.
"Progress! Now let's figure out exactly what this hair is made of." He walks over towards a object he had covered up.
Then pulls down a sheet covering a strange machine. In the center of his lab. "This machine can analyze any substance from chemical makeup, bitopic composition, and urg-structure integrity." Varian said as he pulls a lever and causing the table to spin upwards. "I built it myself." He adds proudly.
"Nice." Rapunzel admires. "If I'm right, this should tell us all there is know about your hair." Jumping down Varian walks over too the levelers.
Rapunzel eagerly hurried over to the machine while Varian beings explaining the machine to them. Valor climbs up after her. And helps strap her into the machine.
"Raps, are you sure you wanna..Rapunzel?... uh.. Valor..?" Cassandra quickly noticed the missing girls. As Valor straps the last bit together. Cassandra gasped in shock as Valor steps back revealing Rapunzel. "Let's do this." The princess said as Valor steps back with Pascal riding on her shoulder. Pascal squeaks worriedly. "Don't worry Pascal, Var, knows what he's doing." She reinsure the chameleon with a friendly smile.
"Okay! Rapunzel. Now, um, this might get a little.." "...Exciting?!" Rapunzel asked clearly very eggar to get going. Clearly not noticing how dangerous this machine was. "Um, sure! Yeah! That's a good word for it." Varian accepts. Then pulls the lever staring the machine up.
Within seconds it kicks on and spins quickly. Pulling the hair and turning Rapunzel sideways, upside down and all over. Valor noticed Cassandra watch in bewilderment. Yet it went by very quickly.
"And there we are done." He said. "Alright not super fun, but it's over." Rapunzel laughs nervously. Valor shakes her head. "Actually, I think that's was just the first test, Rap." She explains.
Varian laughs and apologizes tuning back of his neck. "Ha! Oh, sorry. But don't worry, only 86 more to go." Then he starts up the next test. The tally board went from 87 to 86. And the next test began.
Valor yelps as Cassandra pulls her off to the side. "He's crazy." She hissed. "Oh, come on Cass. I went through nearly the same thing and survived. Rapunzel will be just fine." Valor looks back at the test going on. "Trust me, nothing bad will happen to us here." She walks back over to stand by Varian and watched.

Eugene walks over to window and looks in. A screams in shock. Seeing the active saw over his girlfriend. He quickly ducks away heading for the door.
"Amazing!" Varian shouts over the loud saw. Quickly he and Valor duck to avoid flying parts of the machine. "You were right. "It's absolutely unbreakable!" He shouts out with amazement.
"See, hard to believe right? Because we've tried everything we had and it just won't break." Valor chimes in. "Everything?" "Yep."
Then the saw blade flies over them just as the door bangs open. Valor jumps and yelps hitting the machine behind. Usually she's more aware and alert she is rarely caught off guard.
"But, I'm bettering you're not!" All eyes turn to see Eugene standing there. Pointing threateningly as he could at Varian. "Let her go!" He demands and everyone stops what they where doing. "Eugene!... Hey!" Rapunzel said a little bit shocked to see him.
Varian's face lit up. Seeing Eugene at the door. "Blondie! You're okay!" Eugene said realizing no one was in danger. "Why wouldn't she be? Me and Cass are here?" Valor asked him frowning in confusion.
"So, any of you wanna tell me what's going on here?" He asked while Rapunzel looks over at Cassandra before laughing nervously. Valor sighs. She should have known Eugene would figure something was up. "You know what? I don't care. I'm gettin' you outta there." He walks over.
"Hey! You're Flynn Rider!" Varian said with excitement seeing Eugene. "No. You don't know what you're talking about. I never seen you before in my life." Eugene denies crossing his arms. "You can't prove anything!" He challenged Varian.
"I wouldn't be so sure.. Flynn." Valor cheeky smirk as Varian nervously laughs muffling it with his hands. "I'm your biggest fan!" He squeals them hurried over pulls down a sheet revealing a shrine of his Flynn Rider collection. "See?" Varian smiles widely.
Valor had to admit his little obsession with Flynn Rider as adorable. Yet when Eugene saw everything he quickly played along. "Hey, now! Flynn Rider, nice to be met." Valor rolls her eyes at him. Eugene was unbelievable at times.
"I use to see your wanted posters all the time. You're my hero!" He squeals again. Pascal squeaks from her shoulder. "I am not, staring.
I'm just watching Eugene make a fool of himself. Yeah. That's all." Pascal squeaks frowning as she huffs, "whatever."
Varian was walking over with the pile of Flynn Rider books. "I've read every single book about you!" He runs right into Eugene knocking all the books from his hands. Valor tries stifle a giggle. "Oh.." Eugene realizes. "Well, um you, see, that's not actually me." He tries to explain removing red book from his head.
"I just took the name from the book." He tries to explain yet again and of course Varian wasn't listening. "Hey, hey! Remember the time you dueled that evil knight, blindfolded?" He asked holding up the book along with a rod with glowing rings.
He began swinging it slicing the book. "No, no, not me. Do you wanna put that down?" He asked fearfully. Dodging him as he swings it. 'Note to self. Teach Var how to properly use his eh... alchemy tools.' Valor thought.
"This isn't right Cassandra. I have to tell him that's going on." Rapunzel explains as she watches the scene play out. Valor looks over. "I agree. He did come all this way." Valor points out glancing back over to make sure Varian and Eugene where both in one piece still.
Valor notice Cassandra who had been watching with an intrigue smirk of amusement. Was talking quietly with Rapunzel. "...and I trust that two trust Eugene, but I don't trust Eugene, and if I can't trust Eugene.." Valor sighs. "Is it wrong feeling bad we can't tell him?" She asked Pascal who shrugs.
Valor quickly refocused on Eugene and Varian. "Tell me about how you took on the Earl of Camembert!" Varian begs him while Eugene looks on with fear. "Also not me. Would someone please explain to me who this child is?" Eugene asked.
"I'm Varian!"
Valor looks over to Pascal whispering. "Maybe I should take that thing from him before he get himself hurt or someone.." "..LAVENDER, HEADS UP!" Valor screams and dodges right as the rod hits the poster and it quickly burst into flames and was gone.
"Oh, come on!"
"..else.."
"VARIAN!" Quickly Valor turns around seeing the broken table and chemicals dripping from it. Along with both Varian and Eugene standing there looking at her. "I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry.. are you okay? I mean.. of course you okay.. you look okay." Varian quickly asked her. Then the room began to shake with a little tremble.
Quickly as it came it subsided. "What was that trembling?" Eugene asked. "Trembling? I didn't notice any trembling? Laver did you notice any trembling?" Varian asked her clearly trying brushing it off.
Valor narrows her icy blue eyes at him. "Is there something your not tell me Goggles?" She asked him. "What.. *psh*.. no.. Nothing you don't already know." Varian quickly said.
"Uh-Huh." "Oh! Yeah!" He hits his hand to his head. "Almost forgot to get the spectrometric press! It's the only way I can read the results of the test!" He explains with a light laugh.
"Hey! Flynn Rider! Wanna come with me?" Varian asked him. "Ooh. No." Valor walks over and jabs him. He glares at her. "Hey! If.. if you come, I can show you something special. But, um, you've got to keep it a secret. Laver? Wanna join?" He asked. While Eugene brightens up. "I think I'm good. I'll be more helpful here monitoring this machine. But two guys go right ahead." Valor guessers for them to go.
Eugene was following boosting about how Varian was willing to share a secret with him. Soon the two guys were gone. Leaving the girls and Pascal alone.
