It's been awhile, but I'm going to continue the MHA x RWBY one-shots.

The green-haired boy was worried when he came across the silver-eyed girl and found her face buried in her knees. He could just feel the sorrow that was rolling off of her. Being the kind boy that he was, he set out to make her feel better, starting with taking her to a nearby café.

After placing their orders, he spoke up with a look of concern. "So what happened, Rose-san?"

"…You know you can call me Ruby, Izuku," mumbled out the young huntress, though not out of anger or annoyance.

He blushed brightly at the thought of calling a girl by his first name, but then he remembered that Ruby's world was different from his. "O-Okay, R-Ruby-san."

The waitress then came by to place down their food; a slice of chocolate cake for Izuku and a slice of strawberry short cake for Ruby, both with a cup of coffee. Izuku frowned when he watched how Ruby didn't immediately dig in like she normally would. Before he could ask again what was wrong, she spoke.

"Izuku? Have you ever had someone you were close to who suddenly acted as if you were nothing more than a useless burden?"

"You have no idea," replied Izuku with a sigh as he thought of his former childhood friend now bully. "But who are you talking about?"

"…My sister."

The cinnamon roll couldn't help but blink in confusion. "Your sister? Why would your sister treat you like that? You're family!"

Ruby started to tremble as tears started to come to her eyes. "I don't know, but it's been like this for awhile now."

Izuku started to panic. He was not good with crying girls, but he needed to do something! Gathering up his courage, he maneuvered to sit right next to Ruby and allowed her to rest her head on his shoulder.

"T-Tell me wh-what's b-been going on," replied Izuku, his blush returning with force.

"…We were always close when we were kids, but as we grew older we somehow drifted apart," started Ruby. "I wanted to stay close with Yang and did everything I could, but it felt like she kept pushing me away. Then I entered Beacon."

"What happened there?" asked Izuku as he rubbed her back in a soothing manner.

"I thought we could become close again since we were going to the same school and since it was my first day and I had hoped Yang would show me around," explained Ruby. She then frowned. "But Yang was more concerned about trying to get into the pants of cute boys."

Izuku choked on air upon hearing that. "Wh-What?!"

"Y-Yeah. Yang…Yang…I can't even say it!" squeaked out the silver-eyed huntress with a slight blush of her own. "Every day I hope that she hasn't become like that, but with how selfish her priorities are I fear she's already…already…"

"S-Sleeping around?" finished Izuku, causing himself and Ruby to blush brightly. "Have you tried talking to her about how you feel over this?"

Ruby let out a whimper. "I can't. Yang has a nasty temper, so much so that she would go on a rampage if she lost a single STRAND of her HAIR! She would only lash out at me if I even tried to talk to her."

"Reminds me somewhat of Kacchan," mumbled out Izuku.

"…I just want my sister back," said Ruby with a small sob.

The future Symbol of Peace couldn't stand seeing his friend like this. He knew exactly what she was going through, but Ruby probably had it worse than him since Yang was her sister and Kacchan was just his friend. There had to be something he could do to fix this. It soon came to him as he thought of the similar situations.

"You know, the reason I want to be a hero is so I can save people," started Izuku, catching Ruby's attention. "My childhood friend, Kacchan, we used to be close as children, but once his Quirk came in and people began praising him for having a very strong Quirk he became arrogant and egotistical to the point where he would treat everyone around him as if they were beneath him.

I want to be able to save him from himself and bring back the Kacchan I used to know. Maybe your sister needs a hero just as much as Kacchan does."

Ruby was silent as she processed Izuku's words, but soon spoke as she realized what her friend was getting at. "I did become a Huntress so I could be like the heroes from the old fairy tales. I can't stand seeing other people suffer and if Yang keeps doing what she's doing, she WILL get hurt in the end."

"So in other words you're not going to give up on her, just like I'm not going to give up on Kacchan," stated Izuku with a smile.

"That's right!" chirped Ruby, her usual personality returning. "I will save Yang and I won't stop until I do!"

"That's the spirit! Glad to see you're feeling better now, Ruby-san."

"It's all because of your pep talk, Izuku!" exclaimed the girl. She then surprised the taller boy when she brought him into a big hug. "Thank you, Izuku!"

"Y-You're welcome, R-Ruby-san," replied Izuku as he hesitantly returned the hug. "Ano, n-now that you're feeling better, m-maybe we should eat our cake now?"

"Right! Ooh, strawberries! My favorite!" squeaked Ruby as she dug into her sweet treat, causing Izuku to let out a chuckle.

Two children, both pushed away by those they care about, find a common ground due to wanting to save those same people.

Watch out Katsuki and Yang. The purest of heroes are coming for you.

Last time I wrote for Shouto and Weiss. This time we have Izuku and Ruby (NOT shipping) and much like Shouto and Weiss, these two are similar to each other. Blake's and Yang's one-shots will be coming soon and if you've noticed the patterns, you can pretty much guess which MHA boys they'll be paired with.

And much like Weiss, Ruby here is based on her Vol. 1-3 version. Also, Ruby's favorite food is strawberries, not cookies like the fandom likes you to believe.

Lastly, this is pretty much canon Yang, ignoring her SISTER and only caring about her own wants and needs.
