Chapter 90
Tegan and Lindsey walked into the exquisite room allocated to them. The house was spectacular and was filled with everything of the best. It was more like an exclusive boutique hotel than a house. It even had chefs and cleaning staff. Tegan fell down onto the large king sized bed with a magnificent view of the ocean. "Oh this is the life! Perks of having movie star friends" she laughed. Lindsey started unpacking. "That can wait... Come here gorgeous!" said Tegan as she lay seductively on her side with her head propped up on her hand supported by her elbow. "Sweetie pie, I'm beat... It's so hot and my feet look like they belong to an elephant" said Lindsey. "Your feet are gorgeous as ever" smiled Tegan and patted the bed. "Just relax sweetie... lie down... I've got your feet sorted out" said Tegan and got up to fetch something in her suitcase. She switched on the air-conditioning and sat down at Lindsey's feet on the bed. She gently removed her shoes and took some cool massage oil and started rubbing Lindsey's warm, swollen feet. "You are amazing mommy. I love you" she said as Lindsey let out a small groan of pleasure. "Relax, take a nap" said Tegan and continued her foot massage. Lindsey lay in silence enjoying Tegan's expert touch. The pregnancy was starting to take it out of her. She was tired and her feet hurt constantly. She was warned that due to her small stature, carrying twins would be a challenge but she still never knew what to expect. "Tee, thank you... you're the best... that's enough, come lie next to me baby" said Lindsey. Tegan put Lindsey's feet up on some pillows and crawled up to her arms. She put her head on Lindsey's chest and sighed. "You know what... few months from now we're going to wish we had time to lie around like this" laughed Tegan. "I know... and we are gonna love it" sighed Lindsey and kissed the top of Tegan's head. "When we get back to LA we should go do some shopping already! I can't wait to buy them stuff... car seats... strollers... baby gadgets... toys. Oh and clothes... lots of clothes... we're going to have the funkiest, best dressed babies in town" said Tegan "You're gonna bankrupt us Tee" giggled Lindsey. "Well we can always just use those Tegan and Sara onesies we have as part of our merch? They're awesome! And we should start focussing on getting a new place to live. Soon Kate won't have to babysit me anymore and I can't wait to work on the baby room... and our room" smiled Tegan and looked up at Lindsey. "I agree. Have you thought about names babe?" asked Lindsey. "Mmmm - not really. You?" said Tegan. "No... but I guess we should get one of those baby name books soon" said Lindsey. Tegan leaned over to the night stand and scratched around in her bag. "Way ahead of you babe... Ta da!... Online shopping" said Tegan holding up a book of baby names. Lindsey chuckled "I love seeing you this excited Tegan. You are going to be an amazing mother" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan again. Tegan rubbed Lindsey's stomach "So are you sweetie" she said. "Kicking!" said Tegan as she felt movement under her hands. "Hey peanuts... you have something to say about the names do you?" she said playfully. "Do you want to hear a song... Yeah... Hmmm... "I felt you in my legs before I ever met you... and when I lay beside you for the first time I told you... I feel you in my heart... and I don't even know you... and now I'm saying HI... HIIII... HIIIII... Lindsey's pregnaaaaant... with baaaaabieeeees..." sang Tegan and Lindsey burst out laughing and tickled Tegan. "I don't think anybody has ever been more in love than I am right now Tegan... you are my everything" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan passionately on the lips. "but right now... I need to throw up..." she said and ran to the bathroom.
Tegan and Lindsey spent a lazy afternoon talking about their future and sleeping in each other's arms. They joined the rest of the gang early evening after making out in the shower for half an hour. "Hi guys... what have you been up to this afternoon?" asked Tegan. "I slept like a log under that palm tree... Sara read about half a book, Kate went surfing and the boys have been playing some ridiculous game in the pool for the last two hours" said Erin looking up where she lay sprawled out on a lounger. "Since when do you love napping so much?" said Tegan. Erin shrugged and winked at Tegan. "Hey I'm on holiday... and I'm tired!" Tegan looked at her suspiciously but continued making herself and Lindsey a virgin cocktail. "Can I have one of those please" asked Erin as she joined Tegan at the bar. "Sure... you want some rum in there?" asked Tegan as she opened the bottle of alcohol. "No... no I'm fine with what you're having" objected Erin. Tegan stayed quiet for a few seconds and leaned over to her friend. She looked her in the eyes. Erin shifted uncomfortably. "You're pregnant" said Tegan with a question in her voice. Erin smiled... "How the hell did you figure that out?" she asked Tegan. "I'm right aren't I... I can sense these things" smiled Tegan. Erin grinned "Yes... you're right." she said softly. "Oh my God this is awesome" shrieked Tegan as softly as she could. "Shhh... it's still a secret... we were gonna tell all of you tonight... so shhh please... you don't know a thing. And don't tell anybody... not even Lindsey. We'll let the ... baby out of the bag tonight" smiled Erin. "Okay okay" said Tegan. "Congratulations my friend... I'm absolutely ecstatic for you. This is the best news!" she said and tried to hug Erin as inconspicuously as possible. "I can see it now... horror nappy stories... playdates... us taking our kids to their first day of school. Them playing on the beach while we're drinking a glass of wine... and Alex and Lindsey can go bath them while we bitch about their teachers" smiled Tegan. "I'm so happy Tegan... and Alex is beside himself with excitement. We've wanted this for so long. It's a dream come true. And I'm so happy that we'll all be going through this stuff together. Did you think I was just getting fat?" joked Erin. "No! You've been wearing loose stuff... are you even showing that much? How far along are you?" asked Tegan. "About 10 weeks behind Lindsey. Yep, I'm showing but there's only one in there so I've been pretty good at hiding it I guess. We wanted to wait until we were past the first trimester before telling everyone. It's a girl..." said Erin. "And you know what Tee... I think we have to thank you for this one... because I'm pretty sure this happened when we were having... um... frustration sex... I mean... It was beautiful as always and ... well... intense but I'm sure there was so much built up sperm after we haven't done it for God knows how long when you were in the hospital that the first time we did... hey presto!" laughed Erin. "Hang on... weren't you pretty fucking injured at that stage?" frowned Tegan. "Making love is a pretty powerful painkiller Tee... you should know that. Anyway... the important parts were healthy as can be all along" laughed Erin. "I love how we can just talk about sex with each other... and nobody cringes" said Tegan. "You're the best best friend Erin" smiled Tegan and raised her glass. "Cheers. To babies..." said Tegan "And big pregnant breasts" said Erin. "And nappies" - "And puke" - "and horrible teachers" - "and amazing spouces" - "and friendship" - "and love" they took turns at toasting.
"Hey what's up" said Sara as she walked up to them. Tegan and Erin both smiled and looked at each other. "Ah you know... taking shit as always" winked Tegan. "You ready for some tunes around the bonfire tonight Tee" asked Sara. "Hell yeah... if these guys are willing to put up with our current mediocrity" she joked. "You two can't be mediocre even if you tried" said Erin. "Thanks E, you're sweet but we all know we're not on top form right now" said Sara and shrugged. "I give you guys two months at most and you'll be back to your brilliant selves. In fact... I had Tom check on the availability of the Greek for just over two months from now and it's free. I think it's time we started planning that come back concert. Get back on the horse and all" said Erin casually sipping her cocktail. "Nooo... no Erin I don't think that's viable" said Sara and shook her head. "Why not... you can do it" said Erin seriously "You need something to work towards... be honest. And this is perfect. It's long enough before Lindsey's due date too. Because when those babies come you're going to be preoccupied and putting this off until who knows when" she continued. Sara sat down on a bar stool looking stunned. "I... I don't know... And the Greek? That's huge! Tee?" she asked looking up at her sister. Tegan looked petrified and stayed quiet for a few seconds. "Bring it on!" she said. "Whoo hoooo! That's the spirit Tee!" exclaimed Erin. She always acted as Tegan's cheerleader. "Sar?" asked Tegan. "Let's do it" said Sara softly and swallowed nervously. "I have only one request" said Erin. "Can I please, please arrange the pre-show? I have some really cool ideas" she asked. "Of course... Whatever rocks your boat E" said Tegan looking pensive. She turned her head to Sara "Quin for the win eh?" she said nervously raising her glass. "Quin for the win" said Sara smiling lifting her glass to meet Tegan's.
