Chapter 92

The holiday was filled with loads of happy, lazy days on the beach and next to the pool. Tegan still slept a lot but usually did it on one of the loungers due to her extreme FOMO (fear of missing out). She still had two IVs attached to her every few days pumping immune boosting drugs into her system but she felt stronger every day and she knew that she was finally, albeit slowly, getting her mojo back. Tegan, Sara and Ted sang together as much as possible to prepare for their upcoming show. Erin was busy planning the beach wedding with the help of Kate and Sara. Everything was coming together beautifully and everybody looked forward to the big day.

"Hi guys... which one of you lazy asses are joining me on a hike to the waterfall?" asked Sara over breakfast one day. Everyone shifted uncomfortably not really feeling like hiking what apparently was a long way to this waterfall. "I would but I'm not supposed to overexert myself too much" said Tegan, relieved to have an excuse. "The guys and I are going fishing today Sar, sorry, maybe another day?" said Alex. "No... I've just worked up the courage to do it and I need to do it today or I'll chicken out" said Sara. "I have some calls to make... wedding stuff. My knee's not hundred percent yet anyway" said Erin. "And I really don't want to leave Tee alone the whole day... we need to email some people about the wedding and we have a few other things to do" said Lindsey. Sara rolled her eyes. "You are all such a bunch of woosies" said Sara. Kate sat down at the table. "Looks like it's just you and me Kate" said Sara with a question in her voice. "You and me for what?" asked Kate, late to the conversation. "We're hiking to the waterfall. Apparently you walk through a forest and it's really beautiful" smiled Sara. "Oh... okay I guess" said Kate and casually poured herself some coffee. Tegan kicked Erin under the table and Erin cleared her throat to stop herself from giggling. After breakfast Sara and Kate packed a backpack with food for lunch and some drinks. "Okay guys... have fun doing... wedding stuff and fishing. Hope you get seasick" joked Sara "Not sure when we'll be back but I'm sure it will be before dark." said Sara. "Okay guys... have fun... be safe" said Tegan biting into an apple.

Sara and Kate walked in silence for the first part of the hike. "It's really beautiful isn't it" said Sara. "Yeah... it's amazing" said Kate and smiled at Sara. The slight awkwardness between them started to thaw out and they were talking non stop soon. It was quite a far hike up to the waterfall and Sara had to stop frequently to rest. Kate was super fit but she allowed Sara the breaks. They finally reached the amazing waterfall. "Wow... worth the hike hey" said Kate and smiled at Sara. "Jeez I feel like I'm going to throw up and I've got a stitch in my side" said Sara bent over. "Just take deep breaths, it will pass" said Kate staring at the waterfall. "Fuck... It's hot!" complained Sara. "Let's take a swim before lunch" said Kate. "I didn't bring my bathing suit" said Sara, sitting red-faced on a rock. "So... neither did I... there's nobody here. Let's just swim in our underwear...or..." Kate trailed off. "Uhh... Okay" said Sara, almost too quickly. She was suddenly glad her face looked like a tomato to hide what would've been blushing under normal circumstances. "I'm just taking everything off... I don't want wet underwear for the hike back" said Kate. "Um... turn around" she said. Sara did as instructed and turned around. Her heart was beating out of her chest and she was sure it wasn't because of the extra exercise she got today. She heard Kate give yelp followed by a huge splash. "Whoo hooo! Come on in Sar, the water's awesome" she yelled. "Turn around" shouted Sara still looking the other way. "Okay... I'm facing the other way" said Kate. Sara stripped at the speed of light and unlike Kate gently waded into the water. Sara immediately felt her nipples go erect. She didn't know if it was due to the cold water or due to her being so obviously turned on by Kate. "Are you done, can I turn around?" asked Kate. "Yeah" said Sara softly. Kate turned around and slowly swam towards Sara. "You're cute..." said Kate. Sara felt her pulse speed up. "Slowly wading in like that... are you afraid your hair might get wet" laughed Kate. She turned to Sara and put both her hands on her head to dunk her. Sara yelled but was soon submerged. "You asshole" she said as she came up for air. "Sorry princess" mocked Kate and swam towards the water falling into the clear pool. Sara saw the feint outline of Kate's body underwater and it made her feel feint. She shook her head and swam after her. Kate stopped right under the waterfall and let it fall on her like rain. Her face looked peaceful, more peaceful than Sara had ever seen it. So incredibly beautiful. "This feels sooo good" she said and took Sara's hand. She pulled her into the falling water. Sara let the water massage her neck muscles. Kate still had her hand in hers. She glanced over at her, Kate let go of her hand and disappeared under the water.

After about an hour of floating around and talking in the crystal clear pool Sara turned to Kate. "Don't know about you but I'm bloody starving. What time do you think it is" she said. "Me too! Time? Who cares we're on holiday... I'm so happy that I'm not doing a triple bypass or something right now... soooo happy" said Kate. "But you're so damn good at it" said Sara softly looking into Kate's eyes. Kate couldn't take it anymore. Sara was so damn seductive. She tried her best to control her emotions, her longing to touch Sara grew and it was getting more and more difficult by the minute not to. She loved Sara's sex appeal but she loved her brain even more. She loved how incredibly articulate and intelligent Sara was. How they could talk about anything. Kate often felt disconnected with her past girlfriends specifically because they couldn't keep up with her intellectually although she never admitted it to herself. She dunked her head again "Okay, you get out first" she said. Sara smiled reluctantly and turned around. Kate turned around but couldn't help herself and she quickly turned her head around to peep at Sara as she got out of the water. Kate followed the curve of her spine all the way to her gorgeous bum. Sara started to turn and Kate ducked under water and let out a massive, frustrated scream under the water. She thought to herself that she really hasn't been getting any for a hell of a long time now and it all culminated into her being horny as hell right now. Her head popped back up. "What was that?" asked Sara perplexed. "I always scream under water... it... it feels kinda cool" lied Kate.

Kate and Sara had lunch under one of the large trees next to the waterfall. Tegan snuck in a bottle of white wine and they both thoroughly enjoyed the unexpected treat. "No wonder this bag was so heavy" said Kate lauging. The wine made her feel more relaxed and she lay back on the grass and closed her eyes. "Hey Katherine" said Sara. Kate laughed "Nobody calls me that" she said turning to Sara. "I just want to say thank you for coming with me... I'm really enjoying this... and your company" said Sara and looked away quickly. "So am I Sara... I'm glad we got to spend some time alone" said Kate softly, almost seductively. "We better get back... it's getting late" said Sara immediately regretting her cowardly words. Why was it so difficult admitting that she really, really liked Kate. She felt a connection with her that was unlike anything she'd ever experienced, not even with Emy... Emy...Was the memory of her holding her back or was it her own fear of failing at love yet again. Sara didn't have the strength to get rejected right now. She was just too vulnerable.
