Chapter 96
"Hey Sar... what're you up to today?" said Tegan walking onto the terrace for breakfast. "Not much... just going to be chilling on the beach I guess, I have a book I want to finish" said Sara, her eyes fleetingly meeting Kate's. Tegan grinned and whispered to Erin "Yeah right". They both laughed. "We're going to town, we have a few things to buy for the wedding" said Tegan. "Um... I better go with you" said Kate. "That's not necessary" said Tegan. "I feel great, and I'm sure you have better things to do today" said Tegan winking at Erin and she started giggling. "Huh... what's that supposed to mean?" said Kate clearly a bit over sensitive. "Guys... How do I say this?... Um this has been going on since you came back from the waterfall. I can't keep a straight face anymore. You can drop the act, we know you two are totally into each other." said Tegan laughing. "What... what are you talking about" said Sara blushing. "You either have to be stupid or blind or both not to see that you two are in looooove" mocked Tegan blowing kisses. Sara started chasing Tegan and grabbed her head playfully in a wrestling grip under her arm when she caught her. "Ouch... Ouch" said Tegan and Sara loosened her grip "Shit... Sorry Tee are you okay?" she said quickly. "Sara's got a girlfrieeeend" mocked Tegan as soon as she loosened her grip . "Shut up Tegan" said Sara and grabbed Tegan's head under her arm again. "Tegan grabbed Sara's free arm and bent it behind her back. "Ahh stop it Tegan" whined Sara. "Are you two ever going to grow up?" said Lindsey shaking her head staring at the circus in front of her. "Sara and Katherine sitting in a tree... K.i.s.s.i.n.g" teased Tegan. "At least I'll be used to childish behaviour when the kids come, so thank you" said Lindsey. Sara let go of Tegan's head "Look me in the eye and tell me you don't find her attractive" mocked Tegan. Sara walked back to the table, she smiled at Kate and changed direction. She stopped behind Kate and threw her arms around her neck and kissed her cheek. "Okay you assholes... Kate and I are... are... in love" said Sara. Kate blushed but kissed Sara's hand. "You could've told us earlier that you knew because I would've been able to do this in front of you a lot sooner..." said Kate as she turned around and pulled Sara towards her and gave her the hottest kiss. "Whoo hoooo! Yeeeh haa" shouted Tegan. "You go girls" said Erin. "We're all very happy for you two" said Alex and went to hug his sister.
All the girls were shopping in town and were very relieved that the shops weren't very busy that time of the morning. Nobody bothered them for photos and they were generally having a great time. Tegan rested often in shops and coffee shops and didn't feel too tired yet. "Guys, we'll meet you back at the cars in half an hour." said Tegan as she took Lindsey's hand in hers and walked towards a jewellery store. "We have some special shopping to do" she said and pulled Lindsey closer for a kiss.
"It's perfect" smiled Lindsey looking into Tegan's brown eyes. "I can't wait to wear it" she smiled. "Me neither" said Tegan and kissed her fiancé. After picking out the perfect wedding rings Tegan and Lindsey turned to the sales assistant "If anybody asks, we bought a necklace... please" said Tegan with a pleading face. "Your privacy is safe with us" said the shop assistant seemingly not having a clue who Tegan was. Lindsey led Tegan out of the shop by the hand where they were greeted by a group of fans taking photos. "Tegan! Tegan where's Sara! Tegan can we have a photo! Are you better now? I love you Tegan!" shouted the small group of fans. Tegan put her arm around Lindsey's waist. "Guys... calm down please!" she said. The one security guard with them tried to push fans away. "Who knew we had more than 5 fans in Hawaii" whispered Tegan to Lindsey. "You're hot stuff after your stint in hospital. Great marketing babe" smiled Lindsey. "If you can just give me a little bit of air I'll sign your stuff or take photos with you but please just line-up" said Tegan. "There goes our privacy" whispered Lindsey into Tegan's ear. The crowd lined up and had their photos taken with Tegan. "How are the babies doing?" a fan asked. "Wonderful... we're very excited... I've already written a song for them" said Tegan smiling signing stuff. "Are you guys getting married... did you buy rings in there" asked another fan. Tegan smiled "Just bought a necklace for my lovely Lindsey" she winked. Tegan was starting to feel very tired, she turned to the security guard "Okay... I need to go... feeling a bit shaky" she whispered. "Okay guys... that's it for today. Tegan needs to go now" he said. The group kept pushing and it made Lindsey feel claustrophobic. "Are you okay Tegan?" she asked panicked. "Um... yeah" said Tegan looking pale. "Move please" said the guard in a loud voice but the group still crowded around Tegan and Lindsey. Tegan tried to push her way through them but she was overwhelmed fast. She was breathing rapidly and looking paler by the second. "Please... I just need a bit of air" she said. Some considerate fans tried to move the rest of the crowd back that seemed to be growing as more and more people random wanted to see who the celeb was. Everybody wanted a piece of Tegan suddenly.
Sara, Erin and Kate walked around the corner to see the spectacle unfold. "What the hell?" said Sara loudly. "They're smothering them" said Sara. "Hey give them some room please" said Erin loudly and some of the crowd turned. "It's Erin and Sara" they squealed and most turned away from Tegan and Lindsey. They were now pushing towards Erin who was one of the world's biggest movie stars after all. Tegan put her hands in front of her mouth and nose, they were shaking. "Can we go home please" she asked softly. Erin and Sara were in no mood to humour the crowd and they pushed their way through pretty fast. "Thank you... give us some room to move please" said Sara. The crowd responded to their authoritative energy immediately and opened a path for them. The two guards with Erin and Sara pushed the crowd away and led them to the cars. A photographer grinned at Sara. She immediately recognised him as the dick that messed with her at the police station and at the airport. She scowled at him. "Hey Sara... new girlfriend already?" she shouted. "And wow, wouldn't you know it... it's the good doctor" he said. "Keep walking Sara... ignore it... he doesn't know shit" whispered Kate. "Took me a while to find you but I'm gonna be all over you two like a rash" said the photographer laughing sadistically. Tegan watched Sara with wide eyes. Sara stopped and turned around slowly. She felt anger build up inside her. "Don't do it Sar" said Kate softly in her ear. "Listen... sir... I really don't care what bullshit story you sell. I don't have to explain myself... who I date... what I do... to anybody. I really don't give a shit what you publish... go ahead... you're not going to get me wound up any further. Just get out of my way... and don't move an inch closer to Tegan" said Sara and pushed her way past him. The group of fans started applauding. "Whoo hoo! Go Sara!" they cheered. The young fans started pushing the photographer away. "Guys... it's okay... leave him" said Sara. She took Kate's hand and walked towards the car.
"O dear... I give it 10 minutes before the internet is buzzing about this" said Tegan with her hand in her hair. "Are you okay Tegan, you look a bit shaken up?" said Kate as they reached Tegan. "Yeah... I think I'm okay, I just want to get home. I'm tired" said Tegan. Sara and Erin both looked shaken up, their abduction never really out of their minds and the large number of people buzzing around them were upsetting to them. Erin walked fast to the car with her hands in her pockets and her head bowed. Kate held Sara tight, right in front of the fans. "It's okay... you're okay Sar" she whispered. "Nobody's going to hurt you again I promise" said Kate softly kissing her hair.
Tegan turned around as they reached the car. The curious onlookers disappeared but the small group of fans were preventing the photographer from getting onto his motorbike. "Leave them alone... they deserve some privacy" she heard the one girl say and the rest agreeing. "We have the most incredible fans" said Tegan and shook her head. "Hey can you get their contact details Charles... maybe we can do something for them. You know... give them some tickets when we play here someday" said Sara. Erin was already waiting in the front seat of the car. Tegan put her hands on Erin's shoulders from behind. "It's okay buddy... you're safe" said Tegan. Erin put her hand on Tegan's, she wasn't surprised anymore that Tegan was always so in tune with what everyone else was feeling, even more so after her illness.
