Ch 22 The Preservers

Ritsuka was in his office writing reports to the Association about what transpired yesterday. He sighs as he stops writing placing his pen down. "If you want to say something, then come on out," he said as his shadow morphs into a huge man, no beast. Ritsuka spun around in his chair facing the Beast before him.

"Goetia, I knew you were here from the start." He said to the Beast as he looks away from his gaze. "What do you have to say?" he asked him.

"Master was it wise to leave the dragon slayer with that girl?" he questions his master's decision.

Ritsuka looked at the beast. "Hermione was targeted by Avenger of the Gallows, that I don't want to take a chance."

"What about the others at Hogwarts, can't they protect her?"

"You know that they have missions there, they don't have time to protect anyone except for a few instances." He said.

Goetia remained silent before the doors opened to the former demi servant. "Senpai, they're ready for you," Mashu said to him. She then noticed Goetia in the room. "Oh, Hello Goetia-san am I interrupting something between you and Senpai?" she asked.

"No Shield Hero, master and I was just discussing something of no concern." He said to her. "I will take my leave now." He said dematerializing back into his master's shadow.

"Goetia," Ritsuka sighs before getting up from his chair. "Well, I shouldn't keep them waiting. Come on Mashu." Ritsuka smiles.

"Hai!"

Hogwarts November 26, 2023

Hermione woke up late in her bed. She was happy it's the weekend and no classes to go to, she got out of bed and went over to her drawer to pick out her clothes for the day. She went to the girl's baths to take a good need bath due to the hectic day yesterday.

She sat on her bed drying her hair with the towel and put on her clothes. "Are you planning something today, Lady Hermione?" a disembodied voice spooked her as she jumps to turn around to look where it came from.

Saber materialized on the opposite side of the bed leaning on the wall. "I thought meeting you was a dream." She said to the Knight.

"Dream or not, I'm here to protect you from adversaries," Sigurd said to his ward.

Hermione sighs. "Are you always this serious when talking to Ritsuka?" she asked.

"Yes, my only concern is to obey and protect master. Seeing that he assign me to be your protector I will fulfill my master's wishes." He said still in a serious tone.

Hermione scratches her head before pulling a chair from her desk. She placed in it in front of Sigurd and sat down facing him. "Since it's the weekend and all, I believe that we should get to know each other more." She smiles. "What do you say?"

Sigurd closes his eyes before he sat down on her bed. "Very well Lady Hermione, let's get acquainted with each other."

She smiles. "I'll start, you already know my name Saber." she started. "My parents are both muggles or mundane from what Ritsuka called them, both my parents are dentists and I discovered that I'm a witch at age eleven and pretty much attend Hogwarts for the past three years of my life."

"My goal is to be a researcher in the Ministry of Magic on magical artifacts, but I heard rumors that they don't accept muggle-borns in the ranks." She said softly before shaking it off. "Anyways what about you, Saber?"

Sigurd took in the information of the girl to mind before sharing his information about him. "I'm a Servant bonded to my master Ritsuka Fujimaru. I act as his protector among the others who are contracted to him." He said. "I'm usually with my wife stationed at Chaldea as it's sentry among with her sisters."

"Interesting, Lancer was the one that fought with Avenger of the Gallows last night?" she asked him.

"Yes,"

"That's cool, how did you meet Ritsuka?" she asked as a bit of regret was in his eyes.

"I was contracted to another master before my current master summoned me." He admitted. "Making me his enemy,"

Hermione gasps at the reveal. "I thought you protected Ritsuka?" she asked.

Sigurd looked at the girl. "My previous master was tasked to rewrite history along with other masters. Ritsuka was able to defeat them all, two now working from him and one still out there somewhere."

"I see, what about the one that escaped? Aren't you all looking for him?" She asked.

Sigurd nodded. "With the Mage's Association's help, we have a worldwide search for him."

Hermione nodded understanding what he's saying. Her stomach growls making her embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I haven't had breakfast yet." She chuckles.

Sigurd chuckles a bit. "You should get something to eat, if Emyia was here he'll prepare a full course meal."

"You guy's can cook?" she asked as she gets up.

"Indeed we do, though most of us don't have the skill." He said going to his astral form.

Hermione looks around for him. "Saber? where are you?" she called for him.

'Like I said last night, I will be in my astral form, so I don't bring suspicion upon you from your fellow students.' He said in her mind.

"Telepathy? You servants are full of surprises." She said.

'That's just the tip of the iceberg, Lady Hermione.' He said as they went to the Great Hall.

Malfoy Mansion

"You've revealed yourself to the enemy and now they are aware that you are our secret weapon!" the snake man yelled at the servant.

Avenger sat on the table with a bored expression on her face. She tilts her head over to the shrivel man in the arms of his follower. "I was just checking out the enemy's strength, Voldy." She said flapping her hand in the air.

"And what did you find out other than failing to kill your target?" he asked.

Avenger jumps off the table and walks to the window. "Do you think your forces can defeat Ritsuka Fujimaru?" she asked.

"Of course, we-"

"No you can't!" she shouts at him.

"And why's that!?" he retorted back. "The Potter Bastard's Servants are muggles nothing to it!"

Avenger smiles wickedly. "Oh, you arrogant fool, those servants of Humanity's final master are heroic spirits both good and evil." She said to him.

"What do you mean Heroic Spirits, Avenger?" he questions the servant. Avenger told the Dark Lord everything about the Throne of Heroes to the Servants themselves.

Voldemort was shocked by the news he received. "You mean to tell me, the Potter Bastard manages to summon heroes and villains to defend Humanity?" he said before crackling.

"My Lord?" Wormtail asked a bit scared of him.

"And these 'Heroes' includes muggles as well?" he added.

"Why yes my lord, after all, I'm one of them," she said

"I demand you reveal your true name to me Avenger!" he demanded of the servant.

Avenger laughs in front of his face. "I will not reveal my true name to just anyone, Voldy. The purpose of my name being Avenger is to protect my identity. If the enemy finds out on who I am then they'll find my weakness." She said.

Voldemort huffs in frustration. "Fine, if you're going to be our secret weapon (which is already ruined) then don't reveal your name," he orders her.

"Yes, my lord." She bows. "I do happen to know where we can get more…help" she said popping the 'p' to him.

Voldemort was now interested. "Elaborate on help, Avenger." He smirks at the servant.

Chaldea British Outpost: Command Room

Ritsuka stands before the wall that is in the middle of the two stairwells that went both directions from the grand staircase. He presses a button on the wall as it opens to reveal a futuristic hallway that was lit up by blue lights.

"Senpai, are you ready meeting the rest of the Preservers," Mashu asked him.

"Yes," Ritsuka said heading into the hall.

Once on the other side of the hall is the Chaldea British Outpost's Command Room. The room is similar to the design of the Command room from Chaldea but with a few differences. Instead of an observation deck, the control panels were on near the Papermoon. The staff members looked at the Director standing at the entrance.

A man with white hair and brown eyes walks up to him. "Director Fujimaru, welcome to the command room." He inclines his head.

"Xenophilius Lovegood, I heard your daughter is attending Hogwarts," he said to the man. "I thought you were going to teach her operating Chaldeas and the Papermoons."

"Well director, Luna wanted to join Chaldea, but I hold that off since she is still young and I don't want the wizards to find about Chaldea," Xenophilius said to him. "Don't want an owl to deliver the letter where they can find Chaldea."

"Ah, now I remember. Your family came from the Wizarding World." Ritsuka said. "Smart, waiting for Luna to finish school before joining Xenophilius." He said.

"Thank you, director." The wizard said.

"Senpai, you're late," Mashu said to him.

"Oh right," Ritsuka claps his hands getting the attention of the staff. "I will be needing the command room for a meeting, if you all be so kind and leave, I will appreciate it." He said as everyone left the command room. Ritsuka walks to the Papermoon as Mashu types on the console.

The Papermoon rose as the Chaldea logo rose along forming a roundtable with thirteen chairs along with it. "I hope I'm not late." Koyanskaya walks in the command room with documents in her hands.

"Koyanskaya-san, no you're not Senpai was about to start the meeting," Mashu said to the Alter Ego.

"Thank you Mashu," she said walking to the table to the third seat from Ritsuka's seat. "Fujimaru," she greeted him.

"Koyanskaya, I hope you adjusted here." He asked the servant.

She reorganizes the document in her hands. "Oh, I'm just fine Fujimaru, anyways here are the documents you requested." She said sliding the folders to him.

Ritsuka opens the folders rechecking the papers. "This is good, Koyanskaya. Thank you." He said to her.

"Anytime,"

(Insert Fate/Grand Order Cosmos in the Lostbelt OST Oath of Humanity). Soon holographic people filled in the remaining ten seats. The members of the Preservers of Humanity has arrived, the members consist of

Kadoc Zemlupus (Former Crypter): Director for the Chaldea Russian Branch

Kirei Kotomine or Grigori Rasputin (Servant Alter Ego): Assistant Director of the Chaldea Russian Branch

Koyanskaya or Tamani-no-Mae (Servant Alter Ego): Chaldea Secretary and UN Representative

Hinako Akuta or Consort Yu (Former Crypter, Servant Assassin): Director of the Chaldea Japanese Branch.

Peperoncino Scandinavia (Former Crypter): Advisor and Acting Director of Chaldea

Monsieur Delacour (Magus): Director of the Chaldea French Branch

Leonardo Da Vinci (Servant Caster): Head of the Technology Development Division

Sherlock Holmes (Servant Ruler): Advisor

Hideyasu Ajima: Director of Seraphix

Sion Eltnam Sokaris (Master): Representative of the Wandering Sea

Samuel G. Quahog (Magus, Wizard): President of MCUSA and Director of the Chaldea American Branch

Unlike the Crypters, these Magus and servants shared the same beliefs as Ritsuka in the preservation of Humanity. Each one has a connection to Chaldea whether be it the Grand Order, Lostbelts, or connections with Marisbury Animusphere.

-ZZZ- So, what's so damn important that you call in this meeting Ritsuka? -ZZZ- Kadoc said to the Director.

-ZZZ- Yes, I do have a government to run here in America. -ZZZ- Samuel added.

Kirei smiles at the two -ZZZ- Now, now, let's have cool heads you two. Master will not call us if it's not urgent. -ZZZ- the former priest looks at his master. -ZZZ- Master, what do you want to discuss with us? -ZZZ-

" I was attacked by a servant," he said as the member gasps.

-ZZZ- What class is the Servant categorized in, Fujimaru? -ZZZ- Da Vinci asked.

"Avenger," he said as the room remain silent.

Da Vinci remained calm at this. -ZZZ- The eighth class that should not exists…It's a good thing we have Moon Cancers on our side if things get nasty. -ZZZ- the renaissance woman said to lighten up the mood.

Monsieur got up from his seat. -ZZZ- How is it possible, I thought a Rogue Servant is impossible! -ZZZ- The Director of the French Branch exclaims.

-ZZZ- Rogue Servants can materialize in this era, Monsieur. -ZZZ- Holmes said. -ZZZ- Let's say if a Holy Grail War took place now summoning servants is quite possible even without the threat of Humanity hanging on the balance. -ZZZ- the detective said.

-ZZZ- So, what shall we do about the Rogue Servant? Shall we try to convince them to join Chaldea? -ZZZ- Peperoncino asked.

" I don't think that's possible, Pepe," Ritsuka said.

-ZZZ- What makes you say that? -ZZZ- Consort Yu asked her master.

"Because she's already aligned with Voldemort and his Death Eaters." He answers her.

-ZZZ- You got to be kidding, Monsieur Fujimaru are saying zhat Servant join Voldemort's army of terrorist? -ZZZ- Monsieur asked.

"Most likely, from what she said to me I'm guessing that she knows who I am," Ritsuka said.

-ZZZ- You mean, Humanity's final master part. -ZZZ- Sion said. -ZZZ- I'm pretty sure by now she disclose any information to Voldemort about you and Chaldea. -ZZZ-

-ZZZ- Agree, we must tread carefully from this point on. -ZZZ- Hideyasu said to everyone.

-ZZZ- I can't help but noticed that someone is missing from our group. -ZZZ- Samuel said -ZZZ- Where is Marisbury's little brother? -ZZZ- he asked as the Magus part of the Preservers chatters amongst themselves.

Ritsuka sighs as Mashu hands over her tablet. "Lord Animusphere is currently our spy in Voldemort's inner circle. As of right now, he reported that Voldemort and Avenger of the Gallows are talking about something about help." He said,

-ZZZ- What kind of help? -ZZZ- Kadoc asked.

"That he's not sure yet, but he is continuing to observe their interactions," Ritsuka said.

Koyanskaya looked at her master after rereading the documents from the ministry sent in by the spy. "Master, it seems that the Order of the Phoenix has a spy as well in the ranks of Voldemort."

-ZZZ- Should of guess that, -ZZZ- Holmes said puffing a smoke.

Consort Yu looked at the Ruler servant. -ZZZ- What do you mean by that, Holmes? -ZZZ-

-ZZZ- It's quite simple Ms. Akuta, Albus wants an upper hand on Voldemort so he asked someone to spy on him. Someone that Voldemort can trust to spy on him too. -ZZZ- The Detective said making the members wonder about who it is.

"Severus Snape," Ritsuka answers.

-ZZZ- Excellent Mr. Fujimaru, -ZZZ- Homes said.

-ZZZ- So this Snape person is playing both sides, I feel bad for the poor man. -ZZZ- Peperoncino said. -ZZZ- Should we ask Lord Animusphere to deal with him? -ZZZ-

-ZZZ- Better not, if he confronts him then our operation will blow. -ZZZ- Kirei said -ZZZ- Our best move is to wait for either side to make a move before acting. -ZZZ-

-ZZZ- As much I hate the priest, I have to agree with him. -ZZZ- Samuel said. -ZZZ- If we act now things will get messy, I don't know about all of you but I don't want to end up in the UN's shit list. -ZZZ- the Director of American Branch said.

"Agree, I will keep you all posted on future events and contact all of you when it arises," Ritsuka said.

-ZZZ- So this is just an update on what transpired, Ritsuka? -ZZZ- Kadoc asked as he nodded. He shrugs his shoulders -ZZZ- Fine by me. -ZZZ- he said.

"This meeting is adjourned," Ritsuka said to them as one by one they signed off. "Monsieur, a moment please." He said to the French Director.

-ZZZ- Yes, Director Fujimaru? -ZZZ- he asked.

"It's about your daughter," Ritsuka said.

-ZZZ- Ah, yes both Apolline and I are grateful for zhat you did. -ZZZ- Monsieur said with gratitude.

"Does she knows about your second job?" he asked.

The Frenchman stops before answering. "No, she does not." He answers. " I don't want her to be involved in this."

"I see."

-ZZZ- Monsieur Fujimaru, promise me zhat you protect my girls. -ZZZ- he pleas to him.

Koyanskaya and Mashu look at Ritsuka waiting for his answer. "You have my word, though I can't promise you that she'll figure it out herself."

-ZZZ- Fine by me, Director. -ZZZ- he said to him. -ZZZ- I rather have her find out herself zen finding out by a Servant or Magus battle. -ZZZ-

"If that's you want Monsieur." He said to him.

-ZZZ- Zank you, Director. -ZZZ- he said as he ended the transmission.

He walks away from the roundtable as it reverts to its original state. He opens the door to let the staff back in to do their job monitoring the Papermoon. Ritsuka turns to Mashu "So, what's next on the Tri-Wizard Tournament Mashu?"

She pulls her tablet and reads what it said. "You have to attend a class on dancing with Professor McGonagall for the Yule Ball next month."
