"Hmm...how very interesting." Levy said as she continued her deciphering of the Miraculous book.
"Have you learned anything new?" Miriam asked.
"Out." Levy said.
"Okay…" Miriam said, taking her leave.
"She's really been busy deciphering the thing, hasn't she?" Himiko asked.
"It would seem so." Miriam said.
"She's been in there for days and she doesn't even want any help deciphering the texts." Noelle said. "What's so special about these Miraculouses anyway?"
"They give the bearers extraordinary powers. We've seen so far in action the two core Miraculous and their guardians. However, there are 12 more miraculouses based off the Chinese Zodiac that we haven't figured out yet." Hope said.
"Besides, she's the best at what she does when it involves books." Jexi said. "Though...something does strike me as curious."
"Yeah. Fu is supposed to be the last of these guardians of the miraculous. And he's been around for 177 years. You gotta wonder...what happened to the other ones." Izuku said.
"I don't think it is something he would be willing to share." Miriam said.
"It doesn't matter what you believe. What matters is trust between both parties. He was willing to share his knowledge of the Miraculous. We would at least like to know what happened to his order." Jexi said.
"That is not something you deserve to ask." a voice said as they saw Wayzz floating there.
"Wayzz? What are you doing here?" Sachiko asked.
"I was sent here on the master's behalf. He was hoping to ask you for a favor since he is not feeling well." Wayzz said.
"Not feeling well? Well, I guess we owe him a favor or two." Alphamon said.
"Y-Yes!" Mikan said. "Chopper, we should go to see him."
"I only came to see if any of you could pick up a prescription for him." Wayzz said.
"We're on it." Sachiko said.
"Oh...he also wants this delivered." Wayzz said getting out a letter. "For his past love, Marianne."
"Alright." Miriam said.
"Past love huh? So he's got a secret love life." Sunny said.
"Yes but they cannot be. As guardian, he will only put her life in danger as well." Wayzz said.
"Especially with Hawk Moth around looking for the Miracle Box." Al said.
"Right… one of the dangerous things about the Miraculous is that when the Ladybug and Cat ones are together, they allow a single wish granted." Hope said. "Hawk Moth, who we all know is Gabriel, wants to use that wish to bring his wife back to life. But who knows what kind of backlash it could have in return… he could lose Adrien."
"No, I don't think he'd go that far. I mean, we've seen that for ourselves." Shuichi said.
"Shuichi is right. Even though he doesn't know that Adrien is Cat Noir, he wouldn't do anything that would put him in danger." Teba said.
"True. But these wishes tend to take something in return for being granted. No one knows what could be lost by regaining a life." Sheer said.
"I have to agree with Sheer on this. Bringing back the dead rarely turns out well for anyone involved." Takeshi said.
"Speaking of bringing back the dead, how's Chiaki?" UlforceVeedramon asked.
"She's still in a catatonic state. She hasn't reacted once since we took her back during Ultra Hero Battle." Mikan said.
"Yeah… When Cheetah and Shyvana found her, she looked like she got messed up pretty bad." Zelos said.
"She was being used by Maddiman as a spy of sorts. All for some revenge against me for taking Mukuro back." Hope said.
"Well, as far as mad scientists go, that is pretty insane. On that, we can pretty much concur." Kentaurosmon said.
"I hope we can fix her soon. She's part of our class, and we shouldn't shouldn't keep her laying down without seeing us." Sonia said.
"That isn't the issue. She's fine physically but she's suffered a lot of psychological damage for who knows how long. She may never regain her former self." Law said.
"If Hajime Hinata was here maybe he could help her somehow." Aya said.
"But unfortunately, he's with the Wanderers, so he would rarely get a chance to see her, if ever." Ross said.
"Yeah, he still has her Galaga hair pin though at least." Roy said.
"I think I know what can be done to bring her back. But...is it really worth calling them all the way over here just for that?" Raine asked.
"The Wanderers function in a way that they can't be contacted. They just drift from world to world. No one ever knows where they ever go." Jexi said.
"So, until we meet them again, we have to keep Chiaki with us." Alphamon said.
"It's the best choice right now. In the meantime we should get the prescription and letter delivered." Mari said.
"Don't worry. I got it taken care of while you guys were yacking." Rainbow said. "Even ran into Marinette along the way and took care of something for her." she said before getting a call. "Just a sec. Hell...oh...uh...yeah. I hear ya. Okay...bye." she said hanging up. "So...you're probably gonna laugh."
"Rainbow… Did you get the letters mixed up? You totally did, didn't you?" Sachiko asked.
"I must have gotten them mixed up when I ran into Marinette. She just said the pharmacy got the love letter for Marianne. Meaning the woman got either the prescription or Adrien's love letter." Rainbow said.
"If it's the prescription, you may have unleashed a villain." Hope said.
"No. Think I gave that to Adrien. Meaning she got…" Rainbow said as they looked out to see a new villain attacking the city. "The love letter meant for him."
The villain was clock themed and was carrying a hand for a sword. Anything she touched with it went in reverse.
"Aw man… I really messed up this time." Rainbow said.
"No kidding. You made a villain outta Master Fu's crush. Now she's… uh… The Backwarder!" Scorpia named it.
"Why did you name it that of all things?" Noelle said.
"Cause anything she touches with her sword goes backwards, duh." Scorpia said.
"It's fitting." Miriam said. "But the main thing right now is stopping her."
"Definitely." Jexi said.
"Guess I should go clean up the mess I made huh?" Rainbow asked.
"Nope. I think we're all in agreement you're not gonna handle anything urgent again." Hope said.
"Speaking of urgent, we should probably get to it before she turns people into husks." Sachiko said.
"Yes, we better hurry." Miriam said.
They hurried onto the streets of Paris where they saw said villain reversing the time of anyone she touched before she looked to the heroes. "So the heroes show. All I need to do is touch you and you'll take me to the man I'm looking for!" she said.
"You have meddled with the passage of time long enough, Backwarder. Your hour is up!" Miriam said, drawing Grand Izayoi, her ultimate Katana.
"Don't waste time with them, Backwarder. Turn back their time, and then take the Miraculous!" Hawkmoth said.
"Not yet. First, I'll follow Ladybug so she can lead me to the man who gave her those earrings." Backwarder said.
This got the major attention of Hawkmoth and the new Universal Villains.
"She knows the guardian personally?!" DaDan asked. "This is huge!"
"If we let her do this, we could end up with not just the Ladybug and Cat, but all of the other Miraculouses. A complete set, man!" Twice said.
"Agreed." Techno said.
"Now...I ask you to allow me to touch you...so that I'll get to Master Fu." Backwarder said.
"So that's his name. But I didn't see anyone like that when I checked the populace records." DaDan said.
"He's likely registered under an alias." Techno said.
"Give me your time, Heroes!" Backwarder called charging at them as they combated her.
"Don't let her touch you! We can't let her find Master Fu!" Peko said, parrying her sword.
"Time Stone, Standstill!" Miriam called as her crystal glowed green and projected a field that stopped time around Backwarder.
"Did she just stop time?" Jexi said.
"Let's not question it." Fuyuhiko said looking Backwarder over. "Ah. Here we go." he said before breaking her brooch, freeing the Akuma as Ladybug captured and purified it.
"Phew." Miriam said.
"Yep. Another villain stopped. By the way, this one will be the one to change your fate." Ladybug said, handing Marianne the real love letter as they departed.
"Well, we didn't get our hands on the Miraculous, but we did learn more about their guardian." Dadan said.
"While a name is always important, it's not helpful if you don't know their face. It also doesn't help that they live under an alias." Techno said.
"We will find him soon." Hawk Moth said over the communicator. "Soon, we'll be able to have him decipher my copy of the Spellbook for us. And who knows? Maybe acquire all the Miraculous that he protects so dearly."
"Yeah...though can't help but wonder...who else knows of this guy?" Techno pondered as Fu soon met up with Marianne later on with two hidden figures watching from opposite sides.
