Chapter 118

Tegan and Lindsey were both lying on the bed when they got home. Tegan straddled Lindsey, put her hands on her belly and kissed her. "I'm so excited I can scream" said Tegan sitting back on her haunches again. "How lucky are we?" said Lindsey. "When are we moving?" said Tegan lying back down next to Lindsey. "Mmmm, I'd love to be in the new place when the babies come but that's going to be a challenge!" said Lindsey. "Why?" asked Tegan. "Because I'm on bed rest and you need to rehearse and I'm sure Kate's not going to be happy with you exhausting yourself moving" said Lindsey. "Well... we'll just pay someone to do it then? And we need to get somebody to help us decorate the rooms, maybe get some new furniture. I'm glad we've got the money from the sale of your place babe, we can really do something special" said Tegan. "Yeah... let's investigate the options tomorrow. I can't wait. I love you Tegan" smiled Lindsey. "Love you more... I'm gonna miss this place" said Tegan. "Yup... but don't worry you can just walk a block and a half up the hill and to come visit it whenever you like" said Lindsey. Tegan started tickling Lindsey's tummy. "Doc said we can play with them" said Tegan. "Don't wake them up Tegan I'm warning you" said Lindsey. "They've been really busy today" said Lindsey. Tegan pulled a puppy dog face. "No Tee" scolded Lindsey. "I can't wait to see them, to hold them, to smell their little new born skins... to kiss their toes" said Tegan softly and smiled at Lindsey. "You're going to be an incredible mother Tegan. I can't wait to witness that" said Lindsey.

Sara was rolling around most of the night thinking about seeing her kidnapper again tomorrow. Her face kept flashing in front of her and it scared her. The hot sex she had with Kate earlier that night distracted her momentarily but she was back to being a nervous wreck now. "Sara? Sweetheart what's wrong?" whispered Kate groggily. "Nothing, sorry for waking you go back to sleep" said Sara. Kate took Sara in her arms and snuggled in close spooning her. "It's going to be over before you know it baby. Nobody's ever going to hurt you again. Shhh now... you're safe" whispered Kate. Sara felt herself relax. It was as if Kate's calm energy transferred directly to her through skin on skin contact. Sara sighed and kissed Kate's limp hand feeling her steady breathing against her back. She has never been more relieved to have somebody she loved with her.

Sara was sitting on the patio looking pensive after a phone call from Sonia, she was waiting for the rest of the gang to join her for breakfast. She was up and ready super early, just wanting to get the day over with. Erin joined her a few minutes later. "Morning" mumbled Erin. "Hey... how'd you sleep?" asked Sara. "Ughhh... horrible... you?" asked Erin. "Yeah not great either" said Sara. "It's going to be over soon Sar" said Erin with a half-hearted smile.

Tegan was busy getting dressed for court after bringing Lindsey breakfast in bed. "Sweetie... do you have to go... don't go... stay here with me" said Lindsey. "Lindsey... I'd love to stay with you but I need to go with them today. Trust me, I'm not looking forward to it" said Tegan. "Yeah... I know. How are you feeling?" asked Lindsey. "I feel good babe. Not much pain, more energy" smiled Tegan. "Take it easy today Tegan... promise me you'll take care of yourself" said Lindsey. "I'll have my doctor with me... she's going to make sure I take care of myself baby" smiled Tegan. "I hope she's removing this IV before we go out in public" said Tegan. "I wouldn't count on it Tee" said Lindsey. Tegan shrugged as she fiddled around with the central line ports to make them less visible under her shirt. "Mmm – guess I better go with a jacket" she mumbled to herself and put on a dark blazer. "You look lovely Tegan. Put on a scarf it's nippy outside. Do you have your inhaler?" asked Lindsey. "Yes mother... Hmmm... this scarf will at least cover the bruise in my neck. Listen, we've organised for Abby to be here until we get back so just holler if you need anything. She'll be studying in the spare room but she'll make you lunch and bring you tea and whatever else you need okay. I'm sure Kate will be down in a few minutes to come check your BP." said Tegan. "Ahh you've organised a babysitter! So sweet" said Lindsey sarcastically. Tegan shook her head and rolled her eyes. "I love you, I love you, I love you. Get some rest okay" said Tegan before kissing Lindsey goodbye.

Tegan lucked out and Kate removed her antibiotic IV as the course was finally finished. "We'll hook you back up to the juice when we get home later" smiled Kate. Tegan looked over at Erin and Sara looking scared as hell. "Can't you give them something to calm them down... you know a chill pill of some kind" asked Tegan. "I've offered but they say they don't want it" said Kate. "It's better this way Tegan. Listen... I want you to at least try and take it easy today" said Kate. "I'll try" smiled Tegan. "You're going to be the end of me Tegan Quin" said Kate shaking her head.

The moment the cars left the gate photographers were clicking away. This was a major news story for them and all the big news agencies sent media teams. Sara looked out through the window as Kate softly rubbed her back. Everybody was quiet until Tegan piped up "Well I don't know about you guys but I'm so fucking getting pizza after this". Everybody sniggered. "What are we doing when we get out" asked Sara. "No comment... just stay quiet... and that goes for everyone. If we want to we can comment after but just zip it for now please" said Erin, ever the professional. The car pulled up in front of the courthouse. Sara opened the door. "No Sara... wait for security" said Erin. Sara wasn't used to being treated like a major celeb wherever she went. Sure, it was different when they toured or when they attended a specific event but these days they needed security around them everywhere. "Please... Stay with me" said Sara to Kate. "I'm right here with you" smiled Kate. Sara and Kate got out of the car and started walking to the courthouse holding hands surrounded by cops and their own security. Sara stopped in her tracks and turned to Tegan who was still getting out of the car. She waited patiently for her. Reporters were yelling questions and cameras clicking but Sara had blocked out the crowd. She put her hand on the small of Tegan's back as she always did and walked towards the courthouse doors. They were led into a small witness room and they sat down around a table. "Okay guys... Tegan, Alex and I should go now they won't allow us to stay here. Good luck... we'll see you in there" said Kate and kissed Sara. Sara put her head on Kate's shoulder. "I love you" she whispered. "Love you too" smiled Kate. "You can do this Sar" she smiled. Tegan hugged Sara. "Don't look at her okay... look at us" she said. Sara nodded gave a shuddering sigh. Kate gave Sara a dazzling smile before closing the door behind her.

Tegan sat down between Kate and Alex. "You okay Tegan?" asked Alex. "Yeah sure" said Tegan nervously playing with her hands. Cameras were banned inside the courtroom but Tegan saw many reporters Tweeting away. Tegan started biting her thumb nail and Kate gave her a reassuring look. A policeman led Susan into the courtroom. She was obviously dressed up to look sweet as pie. The jury wasn't in the room yet and Susan smirked when she saw Tegan. This was the first time Tegan had seen the woman and she looked her up and down. Susan walked past them and winked at Tegan in an obvious attempt to unnerve her. Tegan snapped her head in the other direction.
