The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
"I thought you were dead." Angel said, just above a whisper.
Frieza tightened his arms around her.
"Takes much more than that to kill me." He said, with slight laughter in his voice.
"What in the hell are you doing? Get away from her." Vegeta said, as he approached them with the rest of the group.
Angel and Frieza stood up and turned to face the rest of the group. Though Angel stumbled a bit on the way up, due to her energy being quite drained. Frieza put his hand on her back to steady her. Something that didn't go unnoticed by the saiyans and divine beings. Koji already had an idea about the two of them, when they first came to him and his people. Angel losing control when Frieza was struck down was all the proof he needed.
"Angel are you ok?" Goku said, concern laced into his voice.
She nodded. "Yeah, despite the fact I lost my last chance at going home. That asshole destroyed the Daigon Sphere."
"Wait, there was a Daigon Sphere here?" Goku asked.
Vegeta cut in. "Forget about the sphere for a moment. How the hell did you end up here and with that bastard?"
Angel started to get a little fidgety. When she didn't say anything, Frieza decided it was time to speak up. Only for someone else to beat him to it.
"I don't think it makes much of a difference at this point. The important thing is Angel is alive and safe. Also, I wouldn't feel disheartened, Angel. While you were gone, Lord Beerus and Myself were able to locate the last remaining Daigon Sphere." Whis finished by fishing the small sphere out of the pocket in his robes.
Angel's eyes widened when she saw Whis holding the very last one.
"How? Where did you find it?" She gasped.
"Surprisingly, on a planet not too far from Earth. We found it a couple months back." Lord Beerus said, finally speaking.
She smiled gratefully at the destroyer god.
"Thanks so much for continuing the search. And for hanging onto it for me. Though I'm curious, what would you have done with it, if you guys haven't found us? Better yet, how did you find us?" Angel asks.
"That massive power up you had, was too hard to miss. We felt it spike, just like Goku and Vegeta did." Lord Beerus explained.
"We kind of already knew you were here. Knew for quite a long while now." Whis replied.
Angel and Frieza leveled the tall, blue man with a look.
"What!? You knew we were here this whole time!? And didn't bother to pick us up!?" She asked, clearly shocked at what she just heard.
Lord Beerus let out a huge yawn, already bored of this conversation.
"Because sometimes the best way to improve one's skills is set them off on their own. Sometimes you learn best by figuring things out for yourself. We already done it to Goku and Vegeta. When they first started training on my world. I had Whis send them to a time dimension for long periods of time. The same place I have been to many of times during my training days." He informed them.
This new batch of information didn't quell her anger much though.
"Then you could've sent me to that place too. Instead, you leave me stranded on an unknown planet for months on end! That was completely unnecessary and you know it!" She shouted.
Whis arched a brow. "Was it? Because what we just witnessed said otherwise. Lord Beerus and Myself were initially going to send you to the time dimension to further your training. But it looks like someone else had other ideas." He ended, by giving Frieza a knowing look.
Lord Beerus eyed the tyrant's metallic bracelet.
"I must say, Frieza. I commend you on the craftiness of that gadget on your wrist. Certainly works pretty well at masking your high battle power. It's no wonder the saiyans couldn't sense you when you came to earth and abducted our young friend here." He said.
Goku and Vegeta gasped and stared down at what the destroyer god was talking about. How could they have overlooked that. I mean sure it was a rather small, thin bracelet. But it should've gave them an idea, since Frieza doesn't tend to wear anything. Their stunned expression quickly turned into a glare.
"So you are responsible for Angel disappearing then. Should've known you had something to do with it, Frieza." Goku grounded out.
The arcosian crossed his arms with a slight smirk.
"Please, we both know you wouldn't have had the slightest idea. Had Lord Beerus and Whis not just said anything about her whereabouts, Monkey. Let's not forget your not one for deep thinking, not with that dense head of yours." He retorts.
It was then Vegeta spoke up. "Either way, it's proof enough. And there is nothing stopping us from killing you this time."
But Angel stepped in front of the saiyan prince. Blocking his route to Frieza.
"Please, no more fighting. Haven't we seen enough already? I know I certainly have for a while. Let's just go." She says.
"Seriously woman? As long as this tyrant's alive your at risk. If this wasn't proof enough for you. You'll never be safe." Vegeta replied.
"But if that's the case, then why is she still alive now? Seven months is plenty of time to kill someone." Goku added.
"The only possibility I can think of is he needed her alive. To help him locate and use the Daigon Sphere. It's no secret that only one of the Kandusai can utilize it's power." Koji said, breaking his silence.
Angel stiffened at this. But Koji nailed it on the spot. That was the reason he initially kept her around. But a part of her hoped it was more than that in the end. She was almost certain he felt something for her just as she does for him. She could see it in his eyes, especially that day when they made love under the waterfall. There was no faking those feelings. Her train of thought was broken when she heard Frieza speak up.
"I must give you credit. The Kandusai are clearly way more observant and intelligent than Saiyans. But yes, that was my reason for keeping her around. Once we found a way off this world. I was going to resume my search for one of the Daigon Spheres with her assistance. But I guess that plan is now botched, since Rydge destroyed the sphere. Leaving the sphere Lord Beerus and Whis found, the only one left." Frieza confessed.
He figured it was fruitless to keep it a secret any longer. Especially when the destroyer and his assistant now possessed the only Daigon Sphere left. There was no way he was getting ahold of it now. And to be honest, he wasn't as disappointed as he thought he'd be about it. It's ironic, that a little more than halfway through this journey. Frieza's concerns shifted more to Angel's safety, rather than searching for the sphere. He also doesn't blame her for keeping her knowledge of the sphere' presence on this world away from him. Especially after he told her of his plans for when they found one.
"This Daigon Sphere belongs to Angel and her alone. You tampering with it will only cause universal catastrophe and throw everything off balance. This is where I can tell you that you would literally be biting off more than you can chew, Frieza. So in other words...Leave. It. Alone." Lord Beerus said, with a hint of warning.
Frieza had no choice but to do just that. So he did. It was then, he noticed Angel looking over her shoulder at him. Before she turned her attention back to Whis and Lord Beerus. Koji spoke up yet again.
"Well, it certainly was a pleasure meeting you all. But I need to get back to my people. Make sure our towns haven't had any damage." Koji explained.
Angel's eyes widened. "Oh shit that's right! I hope they are ok. Especially, after that first huge blast that leveled this area."
Koji gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, they all left when that man first made his appearance. They sensed him coming a mile away and could feel he was dangerous. I'm sure they all vacated the area before the first initial explosion. Despite not being very powerful, the Zenith People are great survivors."
He approached Angel and bowed. "It truly was a great honor meeting you. Hopefully, we shall meet again in the future."
Frieza narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. He never was one for jealousy in the past. But he was certainly feeling it now towards this man. Part of this being his fault, for letting himself get so attached to Angel. It was something that wasn't suppose to happen. Sure, since the beginning he found her to be quite the beauty and had great potential to be a warrior. But it wasn't suppose to go beyond that. And now as it were, it looks like he may be saying goodbye to her soon.
"It was nice meeting you too. And thanks for all your help, Koji." She said.
He nodded and flew off to meet up with the rest of the Zenith People. Frieza inwardly scoffed. 'Help? What help was he? Other than giving them the sphere, he didn't do anything.' He was broken from his reverie when he heard Whis speak again.
"So Angel, have you made your decision? Do you wish to leave now? Or do you want to wait a bit longer, say goodbye to everyone?" Whis asked.
She was caught off guard. Angel wasn't expecting to leave so soon. She definitely wouldn't mind saying goodbye to everyone back on earth. After all, she became rather close with the Z-Fighters and their families. But most of all, it made her heart clench knowing she would have to say goodbye to Frieza too. Angel looked around at everyone, before turning to Frieza.
He still had his arms crossed, but was squeezing his biceps with his fists. And he was looking away from her. Angel can tell he didn't like this anymore than she did. But how can she stay, knowing she has a family back home waiting for her? Figures, she finally meets someone that makes her feel so alive. And they end up being an alien from a completely different universe. Not just any alien. But the very Galactic Emperor himself.
She swallows back the lump forming in her throat. And turns her focus back to Lord Beerus and Whis.
"What exactly would I need to do?" She asks.
Whis held the sphere out. "It's actually quite simple. You take the sphere and concentrate. Bring up your most recent memories of your world and loved ones. Then project them into the sphere. Let it know where exactly you want it to go. If it helps, just inform it that you wish to return to your home in your own world."
Angel took the sphere and peered down into it. Before slowly looking back up at the others.
"Is...is this a one time occurrence? Or will I be able to return here? In other words will it allow me to traverse back and forth if I wish it?" She adds.
Whis smiles. "Yes, after all; it is a portal. And as long as you have it, you can do what you will with the Daigon Sphere. So, if you were to say goodbye now. Just know, it's not forever. Feel free to come and visit us here whenever you want."
This news does help with her decision. Angel knows she would definitely like to come back again when she can. She also knows Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of the company would appreciate it if she were to come visit them from time to time. If the smiles they were throwing her way didn't hint to that already.
"Yeah, that be awesome! Don't be a stranger, Angel. The door will always be open for you here." Goku said, enthusiastically.
Vegeta hardly said anything. But he did give her a sharp nod in approval. And when she glanced over at Frieza, Angel saw him look away last minute when he saw her turn her attention to him. She smiled at this, knowing Frieza was most likely just as relieved to hear this too. But even then, it doesn't mean it may be easy for them. Especially, when everyone else she knows here hates him.
"In that case, I would love to come back here sometime. Hopefully soon. But first, I just need to be sure my family is alright. Plus, I really miss them and know they are worried sick about me. It hurts knowing they probably think I'm dead after all this time away." She told them.
"Then you shouldn't let them wait any longer. We're sure going to miss you around here though." Goku said.
Angel smiled. "Please tell everyone back on earth that I'm sorry, I can't say goodbye to them properly. I'll try and make it up to them next time I'm here."
"No problem, though I'm sure they understand. We all know how much you miss your home. So it's not like they will hold it against you." Goku ended by pulling the petite woman into a bear hug. Angel was more than happy to return the hug.
When she pulled back, Angel said goodbye to Lord Beerus, Whis, and Vegeta. Now the for hardest part, saying goodbye to Frieza. She approached him until she was standing only a foot away. He clenched his jaw and still wouldn't look at her. While Angel herself was having a hard time remaining composed herself. She moved closer, and finally turned his gaze to her. There was sadness in those crimson eyes. Clearly he did not wish for her to go. And he was the reason a part of her didn't want to leave either.
She managed a small watery smile. "I'll see you soon."
He opened his mouth to say something. But then closed it when he wasn't sure what to say. Frieza gave her a brief nod. The smile never left her face.
"In the mean time. Try not to do anything too crazy while I'm gone." Angel added.
Frieza finally managed to smile back. "I make no such promises."
She let out a brief chuckle. "Wishful thinking at least."
A few moments after, her smile left her face. Angel hesitantly reached out and put her hand on his forearm. A tear left her eye as she met his eyes again.
"Goodbye, Frieza." She says.
He reached up and gently wiped the stray tear from her cheek before caressing the side of her face.
"Goodbye, Angel." He replies.
After a moment, Frieza reluctantly pulled his hand back. Angel took a couple steps back, never taking her eyes off him. But eventually she had to, so she can concentrate on using the sphere to get her home. Before she started, Whis spoke up again.
"Just so you know, Angel. If memory serves me correct, you can use the sphere to look in on those you wish to see. It should work like my orb does, when I occasionally look in on others. Just inform it of who you wish to see and their image will come up." Whis informed her.
She bit her lip. "Will it also allow me to communicate with them?"
"That I'm not so sure of. Doesn't hurt to try. If anyone can hear you, it most likely will be Lord Beerus and Myself. So if there's a message you wish to pass on to one of the others. We'll gladly do that for you." He added.
Angel turned her attention back to Frieza.
"I will." She said, with a smile.
Frieza gave her a very faint smile in return. Finding it challenging not to show how much he cares for her in front of his biggest foes. Had they not been there, he would have embraced her once more and possibly add in one last kiss. His chest ached at her departure. But it gave him a small sense of comfort that she will return one day. And until then, he will wait for her.
With one last glance, Angel looked down and concentrated. She brought up a couple of her most fondest memories and telepathically told the Daigon Sphere, she would like to go back to her home in her world. A gust of wind formed around her and the world around her melted away. And before she knew it, Angel found herself in the middle of her living room.
She looked around briefly, before collapsing down on the couch. Nothing looked out of the ordinary there. It almost looked like she never left. It didn't look this clean before she left. Which indicated, someone must've came in and tidied up the place. It must've been either her brother or sister in-law. They had a spare key to the place. Her parents did too, but they weren't ones to come and tidy up her home when she isn't there. Angel looked back down the Daigon Sphere in her hand. 'Guess this wasn't some crazy dream after all.'
Back on the Unknown World...
"Well, time to go. There's nothing more we can do here." Whis informed everyone.
"You think she made it back ok?" Goku asked.
Whis looked up into the orb atop his staff. It brought up a clear picture, of none other than Angel. Sitting on her couch, looking around the place in surprise. She made it home safe after all. They watched as she looked down at the Daigon Sphere in her hand. Before she looked back up. The angle made it look like she was looking through Whis's orb back at them.
"Ummm, are you sure that's her? Why does she, along with the area around her look...different?" Goku asked, looking on confused.
Whis smirked. "That's just how everything looks in perspective in her dimension. Details, shadows, highlights, and colors are increasingly sharp there. But nonetheless, this is still Angel."
Frieza couldn't take his eyes off the image. She was still just as beautiful in this perspective. He could tell she was relieved to be home. But he can also clearly still see sadness in her blue/gray eyes. He was brought out of his train of thought when Vegeta spoke.
"That's incredible, everything there looks so different, yet similar. It's hard to describe but, the image of everything there is incredibly sharp, almost unreal." Vegeta said, in awe as he watched the image play out in front of them.
"Indeed." Whis said. Before the image cut out and was no more.
The saiyans turned their attention back to Lord Beerus and Whis.
"Well, guess it is time to get going. So we'll see you guys later." Goku said.
Goku gave Frieza a quick cursory glance before he pressed two fingers to his forehead. Vegeta put his hand on his shoulder. And a moment later, the two saiyans vanished from sight and left for home. Now there was only the destroyer, his assistant, and the former emperor left.
"I take it you need a lift, Frieza. Just tell us where you need to go and we'll take you there." Whis informed him.
Frieza cleared his throat. "Just take me back to one of my main bases on Planet Frieza."
"Fair enough." Whis said, and gestured him to come closer.
It didn't go unnoticed by Lord Beerus and Whis, that Frieza was rather somber and a bit upset by Angel's departure. They could tell from the beginning, that it was hard for both of them to depart. Unknown to Angel and Frieza. Whis and Lord Beerus have checked up on them periodically through the orb on Whis's staff. They could tell then, that the tyrant had grown quite attached to the young Kandusai Warrior. It showed when he saved her on several occasions.
Lord Beerus grasped Whis's shoulder. While Frieza put his hand on the destroyer's shoulder. As they prepared to leave, Lord Beerus looked over his shoulder at Frieza. Who still had a rather solemn look on his face. It was certainly an odd sight to the destroyer god. Mainly, because he was so use to seeing Frieza either with an arrogant smirk on his face or a scowl. Never before has he ever seen the galactic emperor sullen, depressed, or sad.
"Don't sweat it, Frieza. Something tells me Angel will be back sooner than we think. If it makes you feel any better, we can inform you when she arrives." Lord Beerus said.
The tyrant snorts in disbelief. "What makes you think she'd want to see me again? I am partly the reason why she ended up stranded here after all."
"Yeah, and we're not blind. It's clear you took quite a liking to the young woman. And don't bother trying to deny it either." Lord Beerus replied.
"Definitely shocking you expressed interest in someone for once. But then Angel seems to just have that effect on people." Whis added.
Frieza smirked and look to the sky. "Indeed."
It was sad writing this chapter. Mainly because our favorite couple has been separated. Worry not though, Angel will make good on her promise and return to the DBZ World and to Frieza. In case anyone is wondering what Goku meant when he stated Angel looked different. It's because he along with the others were seeing her how she is in our world. Think cartoon character viewing a person in a live action setting. A good example is the movie, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." Where they combine cartoon characters into a live action film. The Japanese Anime characters are looking in on someone in the real world. Until Next Time ;)
