Chapter 2
Dementors
"Y/N! Why are you always late for everything?" Mother yelled to me from the corridor. I grabbed my trunk and placed Aria on top of it. I was late. Of course I was. I had 10 minutes till the train to Hogwarts leaves. My mother did not like using apparition, but since we didn't have any other choice she ran up to my room, took my hand on hers and apparated is to Platform 9 3/4. We got there quite quickly. The train was about to leave. "Goodbye, Mother!" I planted a quick kiss on her cheek and ran onto the train. I walked to the section where all of the Ravenclaws usually sat. "Hey, Y/n!" I heard Luna Lovegood's voice behind me. I walked into the compartment and sat down next to Cho Chang. Luna was sat across from us. After about an hour of talking and laughing, I decided to get some sweets. "I'm gonna find the trolley and get some sweets! Do you two want anything?" I asked the girls. "I'm good, thanks!" Cho smiled at me. "Can you get me chocolate frog, please!" Luna asked. "Sure thing!" I replied and walked out of our compartment. I walked towards the Gryffindor area to greet Hermione before looking for the trolley. I lightly knocked on the door of their compartment: "Uh, Hey Hermione! Hello, Harry and Ron!" I smiled, and looked at them. Next to Harry was a sleeping man. Hermione got up and hugged me, Harry and Ron just looked at me and whispered something to each other. "Hi Y/n!" Hermione smiled at me. "It was nice meeting you! I'm going to find the trolley!" I said mostly to Mione. "Bye!" She answered and sat back down. I exited the compartment. As I was walking trough the hall and looking down, I bumped into someone. All I noticed was a mop of blond hair. 'Great! Malfoy!' I scoffed to myself. "Hey watch where you're go-oh, Hallow!" Malfoy took a step back. He was still really close so I blushed and looked down again. "Sorry!" I mumbled underneath my breath. Malfoy smirked at me: "Blushing, huh? You have a crush on someone?" I could feel my cheeks heating up even more. "N-no! Why do you even care? Shove off, Malfoy!" I snapped at him. "You were the one who bumped into me!" Malfoy said in a matter-of-fact tone. Suddenly the train stopped. This made me fall into Malfoy's chest one again. "Falling for me, Hallow?" He teased. I stepped back: "Shut up, will you?" "And why should I? We are having quite an interesting conversation." 'URGH! I really do hate this guy!' Shivers ran over my back and the lights went out. It was getting cold. The windows had frost on them. The smirk on Malfoy's face disappeared, and he looked scared. I slowly turned around and saw a dark figure hovering above the ground. 'A DEMENTOR!' It was slowly floating towards us. Malfoy was breathing heavily. Dementors were one of my worst fears. 'Crap!' "Do something!" I whispered to Malfoy. "You're the Ravenclaw! You do something!" He whispered back. 'God dammit!' I was thinking of a spell that could help us. Then it hit me 'Expecto Patronum!' I hadn't perfected this spell. That made nervous. "Don't just stand there, Hallow!" Malfoy snapped. 'He is so annoying!' I took out my wand and extended my arm. I tried to think of my happiest memory (coming later). "Expecto Patronum!" I yelled. A bright light came out of my wand and the Dementor was thrown backwards. It flew out of the train. "You're brilliant!" Malfoy beamed. I was shocked. "Wha-What? D-did you just c-compliment me?!" I turned around to face Malfoy. My cheeks were heating up. Malfoy was slowly turning red: "N-no! Goodbye, Hallow!' He turned around and walked to his compartment. I quickly ran to mine, knowing that there were more Dementors outside the train. "Y/n! Are you okay?! You look like you've seen a ghost!" Cho exclaimed. "Why she look like that if she's seen a ghost? There are hundreds at Hogwarts! We see them everyday!" Luna said in a isn't-it-obvious tone. I chuckled at her comment and sat down. "I saw way worse! There was a... Dementor!" I whispered and closed the compartment door, "And you will never believe me if I told you what happened!" Luna and Cho looked at me like I was crazy. But when a dark figure floated past our compartment, the weird looks on their faces changed to scared looks. "Told you." I whispered underneath my breath. After a minute there was a bright light in the hallway and soon the train started moving again. "What was that?" Cho asked quietly. "A Dementor!" I answered and stood up. I walked into the hall and looked around, trying to figure out which compartment the light came from. I decided to go check on Hermione, since she was my friend. I walked into their compartment. The man that was previously sleeping, was now awake and giving Harry some chocolate. "What happened?" I asked. My concerned voice was trembling. "A Dementor entered our compartment and attacked Harry." Mione explained. "Bloody hell!" I exclaimed and then turned to Harry, "Are you okay, Harry?" He looked at me for a while before answering: "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little...shocked." I sighed in relief. "After I walked away from you guys the first time, I had a weird encounter with Malfoy in the hall, and a Dementor actually came into the train, but I fought it off! It was quite scary!" I told them my story and the grown man looked at me in shock. "You fought off a Dementor?!" He almost screamed. "Uh... Yeah. Is that bad? Is there something wrong with me?" I got a little nervous. "No, not at all! It's just really impressive, since you haven't learned the Patronus charm yet." He explained hading me some chocolate. I took it and quickly ate it, since I love chocolate. Ron rolled his eyes at me, while Harry and Hermione both looked amazed. The man exited the compartment as Harry patted the seat next to him. I sat down and looked at him: "Are you sure okay? A Dementor's attack can really scar some people." "Yeah, I'm fine! Thanks for asking!" Harry replied. Ron was not happy about the fact that Harry was nice to me: "Why are you being nice to her? Don't you remember what she did?!" Ron yelled at Harry. "And may I have the pleasure of knowing what I did?" I asked calmly. Harry's eyes widened: "She doesn't know?!" "Can someone please explain?" I started getting frustrated. "Ronald, here had a crush on you in first year, but according to him, you called him a blood-traitor and made fun of his family being poor." Hermione finally explained. "What? I didn't even know! I-I didn't even talk to Ron in first year! And I would never call someone a Blood-traitor! I'm friends with a muggle-born myself!" I exclaimed. I was hurt, but mostly sad, because I was accused of being a horrible person and had missed out on amazing friendships. "I'm so sorry, Y/n! I didn't know this wasn't true!" Harry quickly apologised. "It's okay! You didn't know!" I hugged Harry. He hugged me back. When we pulled away I looked at Ron. He was looking down at his lap. "I believe you have something to tell Y/n, Ronald!" Hermione nudged his shoulder. Ron looked up at me, he was blushing: "I'm sorry, Y/n! It's just, when I saw you hanging out with Malfoy, I got really jealous so I told Harry and Hermione, the story you just heard." "Hanging out with Malfoy? When was that?" I got really confused. I had never liked Malfoy. "Well, Yeah. That day in the courtyard. You two were talking about something- or more like whispering. Under the huge oak tree!" Ron explained. "Oh! Yes, now I remember! He was telling some rumour about Mione! And I was insulting him! It was really weird!" I chuckled, "Well, I'm gonna get back to Luna and Cho, but I hope to see you all around! Bye!" "Bye, Y/n!" They said in unison and I walked out of their compartment and into mine.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter! I apologise for all the mistakes I probably will make in the future, while writing the quotes and speeches of characters!
Love you!
