Chapter 5

The Black Lake

"You forgave Malfoy?! What were you thinking?!" Cho screamed at me. I had told her and Luna what happened at the Astronomy tower. "I-I don't know okay?! I'm gonna talk to Cedric! Bye!" I yelled back and ran out of the Ravenclaw common room. I ran down the halls to the kitchen area. Luckily I saw some Hufflepuff students entering their common room: "Excuse me! Could you please call Cedric Diggory? I need to speak with him!" The Hufflepuff nodded and walked inside. Soon Cedric came out, and I hugged him. "Hi, Y/n! Haven't talked in a while, huh?" He chuckled as we pulled away. "Yeah, it's been some time. Anyways, I need to speak with you!" I told him with a serious look on my face. "Alright, let's go to the courtyard!" Cedric suggested as I nodded. We walked to courtyard in silence. We sat down under a tree as Cedric finally broke the silence: "Okay, now, tell me what's wrong! You don't look like you're okay!"

"I'm not..."

"N/n! What is it?"

"It's about..."

"A boy?"

"H-how did you know?!"

"We've been best friends for two years! I know you!"

"Alright! It's Draco Malfoy.."

"What?! Draco Malfoy? The spoiled git?"

"Yes, that one! Anyways, yesterday I went to the Astronomy tower to get some air and clear my thoughts. And then he showed up. At first we didn't talk much, but then he apologised. About everything!"

"That doesn't sound like him!"

"I know! But you haven't heard the crazy part yet!"

"Spill it!"

"I-I kind of accepted the apology.."

"Why? Y/n! Why?"

"I don't know! I don't know what came over me, but I just did!" I laid my head on Cedric's shoulder. "Well, it might have been shock, or..." he trailed off. "Or what?" I picked myself back up and looked at him. "Or you might have a crush on him, you just don't understand your feelings! I mean you are 13 after all!" Cedric explained while looking at the sky. "A crush? I-I don't!" I blushed at the thought. "You do! If you didn't you wouldn't be blushing right now!" Cedric said in a-matter-if-fact tone. 'I? Have a crush on Draco Malfoy? The guy that has been bullying me for years?' "Y/n?" Cedric waved his hand in front of my face, "Whatvare you thinking about?" "I couldn't have a crush on him!" I whispered. "I know it's confusing, but there is a fine line between love and hate." Cedric stood up and left leaving me alone, under the big oak tree, in the courtyard.

It was 10 pm, and I was in my dorm, pretending to be asleep. I had to wait until my roommates fell asleep. Melissa Kelmey was already snoring, lightly, but I could feel Cho's glare at the back of my head. After some time the feeling of someone watching me disappeared. I turned around and saw Cho sleeping peacefully. I got out of my bed and put on a black cropped hoodie and grey leggings. I put on my white sneakers, and quickly brushed my hair. I snuck out of the dorm and the common room. I tip-toed trough the halls of Hogwarts. One I reached the exit, the cold air hit me. That sent shivers over my back. I slowly made my way down to the black lake. Once I got closer, I could see a tall figure. 'Draco Malfoy...' I blushed slightly. He turned around and saw me. "Y/n! Thank you for coming!" He greeted me. 'Did he just call me by my first name?!' "Oh, hi, Draco!" I quickly responded, "So why did you want me to come down here?" The view at the black lake was incredible, but I still didn't understand why Draco would want me to come here during the night. "Well, I wanted to tell you something..." He told me. This made me very interested, since it must be very important, if we're at the black lake. "What is it?" I was curious. "Y/n Hallow..." Draco started, but stopped. "Yes?…" I encouraged him to continue. "I-I like you!" He spitted out. "Wha-what? Y-you like me?" I was shocked, very shocked. At that moment I realised 'I like him too!' "I understand if you don't feel the same way! I have liked you ever since first year. I bullied you just because, I didn't know how to express my feelings!" Draco quickly added. "This is so...unexpected! I always thought you hated me..." I looked into his beautiful, grey eyes. "I know I was a real jerk, but if you could just give me a chance..." He apologised, again. "It's alright, because... I like you too!" I smiled at him. His eyes lit up. Draco walked closer to me and...

Cliffhanger! Ha! I love teasing you guys! I actually added this cliffhanger, because I haven't figured out, what I want to do with the story yet...
