Chapter 9
Hogsmeade
After last night's events I was just wishing to have a day off, but to my luck, today was Halloween. On any other occasion I would've been, happy since I love Halloween, but today wasn't just Halloween. It was also our first trip to Hogsmeade.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited to go to the village, but I was really hoping for a day off.
Cho was up since 7 AM this morning, talking about how excited she was. Melissa and I weren't having any of it, since we wouldn't be leaving 'till 12 PM. (A/n: I'm just guessing at this point, since I have no idea, on what time they left for Hogsmeade) We threw Cho out of the dorm and went back to sleep.
Even though I'd much rather skip this opportunity, my friends dragged me along.
Cho was talking about 'The three Broomsticks' a lot. I guess that's some kind of pub. Henry was excited to go to a joke shop called 'Zonko's'. Cedric had told me about a candy shop called 'Honeydukes'. I guess we have a lot to explore.
The third years were gathered in outside the Great Hall. Some had permission slips, while some didn't.
Suddenly Harry came running. He ran up to professor McGonagall and asked something. McGonagall seemingly told him off and turned her back.
The poor boy looked devastated. "Uh, I'll be right back. I have to go... erm-check on something." I told my friends and walked to Harry. Once I got to him, Hermione and Ronald were just leaving. 'Mione sent a warm smile my way, which I gladly returned, but Ronald just kept his eyes fixed on his shoes.
"Hey, Harry, is everything alright?" I awkwardly asked. "Not really." He muttered. "What's wrong?" I sat down on the bench, next to him. "Well, I really wanted to go to Hogsmeade, but my uncle hasn't signed the permission slip. I tried to ask Professor McGonagall, but she said she couldn't help me." the boy looked at me with a sad smile. "I can get you something from Hogsmeade if you'd like. I feel really bad." I rubbed his back reassuringly. "No! Y/n, I couldn't ask for such a favour! Honestly, just have fun." Harry shook his head. "Oh, Harry." I hugged him. The boy quickly returned my hug. "I'm fine, really! I'll just do some homework or stuff." We both stood up. "Okay, I'll see you later. Bye, Harry!" I waved. "Bye, Y/n!" Harry waved back.
I quickly caught up to my friends, and we chatted the whole way to Hogsmeade. But I still couldn't get the slight feeling of guilt out of my head. I was definitely getting Harry something, whether he likes it or not.
"So, where are we going first?" I asked. "We could all split up for now, and then meet at The Three Broomsticks in about an hour." Henry suggested. "Sure," Cho shrugged, "What did you think N/n?" "Sounds good, see you later then!" I smiled and walked off.
I decided to just walk around the village for a while, and then go do my shopping.
Everything was fine at first. I was calm, the village was buzzing with friendly chatter and giggles, and the weather was relatively nice.
Then I heard a scowl behind me. Of course, the one person I didn't need to meet right now. I quickened my steps, but was stopped in my tracks.
"Where ya running, Hallow?"
Last minute, I know, but at least it's something. Well, there is going to be part two of the Hogsmeade trip, so stay tuned for that.
Also...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DRACO! Yay!!!
I hope all had a nice day, see ya in my next chapter!
