Chapter 134
Erin finally got through to the Chairman of the insurance company after the assistant apologised profusely to one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. Erin calmly explained the situation to him and was super nice. "So you see where that leaves us Bob... can I call you Bob? It leaves me in precarious place..." said Erin softly, her anger starting to show. "I really don't want to go through a process of posting this on every single social platform out there... taking it to the press... you know the CNN offices are all the way down town and I'm pregnant and tired... but I'll do it... I don't want to but I will... No listen to me Bob... you know as well as I do that Tegan was one hundred percent covered for everything... not 60% covered, not 80% covered... 100% covered. I don't care if that medical bill was ten million dollars... that's why she has insurance. You are stealing from your customers and you know it. You should be ashamed of yourself. Tegan's been through almost six months of hell and now you put her through this? Bob... I promise you... If you hang up this phone without promising me that you are going to sort this out in 15 minutes or less... I WILL go public and you... well you WILL lose 80% of your customers by the week's end" said Erin, she was livid, her face red.
Alex walked into the room and took Erin's hand. "Atta boy... you're going to sort this "admin mishap" out and you're going to phone Tegan personally and apologise... I mean grovel. I'm going to give you an easy out, don't mention my name" said Erin. "Oh and Bob... I hope you know there's a few medical bills to come still... yeah quite a lot actually. If Tegan gets as much as a bill for one dollar from you, you can kiss your corrupt company goodbye... Good I'm glad we understand each other... No no, not tomorrow. You're in New York... you've got plenty of business hours left... 15 minutes... goodbye" said Erin.
Erin huffed and paced around with her hands in her hips. "Fuckers" she breathed through clenched teeth. "Babe? Relax" said Alex. "I'm livid... I swear I haven't been this angry in years" said Erin. "Sweetheart... if Tegan didn't have the money we would have paid... she would have been okay" said Alex. "That's not the point... she's been paying full medical insurance her whole adult life and the one time she needs it... they hit her with a $600,000 bill... If this happened in Canada it wouldn't have cost her anything... It's wrong... it's corrupt... I'm not leaving this here... because if they're doing this to Tegan they're sure as hell doing it to somebody else who doesn't have the power to threaten the Chairman" said Erin. "Calm down now... It's under control" said Alex with his arms around Erin's waist. "You can fuck with me but you don't fuck with my friends and family" said Erin, still furious.
Tegan lay on the couch in the foetal position. She felt sick to her stomach trying to figure out how they were going to pay the ginormous medical bill with two babies on the way. She felt worried about Lindsey's medical cover although they haven't had any bills arrive for her. "Here's some chamomile tea sweetheart" said Lindsey. "Thanks" smiled Tegan and closed her eyes. "Why is there always some kind of crisis Linds" said Tegan sipping her tea. "Meh... makes life interesting" smiled Lindsey. "Yeah well in that case we're the most interesting people in all of LA right now" said Tegan shaking her head. "How are you feeling Linds?" asked Tegan. "Good... tired... huge... but good" smiled Lindsey and kissed Tegan's forehead. "Everything's fine babe" she whispered.
Tegan's cellphone rang and interrupted the intimate moment. "Hello, This is Tegan" she answered. "Oh... hello" she said and stared out of the window. Lindsey looked at Tegan nodding in silence listening to the person on the other side. Tegan turned around and frowned. Lindsey mouthed "Who is it?" to Tegan. Tegan held up her finger to tell Lindsey to hang on a sec. "Okay... thank you... I'm not going to lie to you... I feel very abused right now. God knows I almost had a heart attack when I opened those bills... and that would have cost you even more... Yes... but I don't think that's the way to treat your clients but I'm going to accept your apology... Can you send me this confirmation in writing please? Could you also please include my wife and my sister's insurance details in that letter please. Oh and confirm the medical cover... the 100% medical cover for my unborn babies. Yes thank you... No no, I hope not to be back soon... goodnight sir" said Tegan. She looked spooked and sat down on a kitchen chair. "Well that's unexpected?" she said. "Who was that Tee?" asked Lindsey. "It was the Chairman of the medical insurance company... he apologised... said there was an admin mistake and that the bills will be covered 100%" said Tegan. "Why now suddenly... an hour ago they were adamant that they weren't paying more" said Lindsey. "I don't know... but I have my suspicions... I'm going up to the main house for a few minutes" said Tegan. "I'm coming with you" said Lindsey.
Tegan found Erin and Alex lying on the couch watching TV with Sara and Kate. Tegan took the remote control out of Erin's hand and switched the TV off. "Hey I was watching that... it's the season finale!" complained Erin. "Which one of you was it?" asked Tegan looking at Erin and Alex. "Was what?" asked Erin playing stupid. "Who sorted out this insurance issue?" asked Tegan. Erin stayed quiet and licked her lips. "What insurance issue Tegan?" asked Erin. "Don't play dumb Erin... it was you wasn't it?" said Tegan.
"It was her" Alex blurted out after a moment of silence. Erin gave him a dirty look. Tegan sat down. "How'd you manage to do that?" she asked softly. "I... well I bombarded my way through to the Chairman somehow... and I told him to go fuck himself... well not in that many words but... you know" said Erin. "Yeah and I'm sure that made him change his mind" said Tegan. "I told him that if he didn't fix this mistake... I'd expose the company to the press, on social media... fucking everywhere. It's not right Tee... you didn't deserve to be put through that... You've got 100% cover and they knew that I was serious... that we would sue the shit out of them... so he gave up... But let me tell you I'm not done with him... they're doing this to other people too I'm sure and he's not going to get away with it... greedy fuckers" mumbled Erin. "Hey let's go to the hospital and do some expensive test now that you're covered again" joked Kate. Tegan shook her head looking dumbfounded. "Don't be mad Tegan... please... I just wasn't going to let them fuck with my friends" said Erin. "I'm not mad... I'm so grateful... thank you Erin... If you didn't do that we'd be paying this illness off for the next ten years or we'd have a massive court case on our hands" said Tegan. "You're welcome Tegan... guess that guy's not going to be watching any more of my movies" laughed Erin. "You were quite hard on him" laughed Alex. "Thank you Erin... thank you" repeated Tegan.
The next morning Tegan and Lindsey walked up to the photographer's studio. "You ready gorgeous?" asked Tegan. "I'm not used to being the subject but yeah... I guess I'm ready" smiled Lindsey. The photographer was excellent and immediately put Tegan and Lindsey at ease. "It's quite an honor photographing one of my idols" she smiled. "You hear that baby...You're an idol Tee" said Lindsey with a smile. "No... I think you're great Tegan but I mean you Lindsey" smiled the photographer. Lindsey blushed and Tegan laughed. "Idol" she said and winked at Lindsey.
The photographer took some shots of Lindsey on her own. Then with Tegan. Some cute, fun shots with building blocks and teddy bears, rubber ducks and ribbons. "Looks great guys... how do you feel about some nudes?" asked the photographer. "Sure... I'm into it" said Tegan. "Please just don't post any shots on the internet" said Lindsey. "Of course not... that's why we signed the contract. Your privacy is completely safe with me" smiled the photographer. "Okay let's do it" said Lindsey. "I'm going to give you a few minutes to get undressed. I've made it nice and warm in here for you and there's some robes on the hooks over there" said the photographer before leaving the room.
Tegan gently lifted Lindsey's shirt over her head. "My god you're beautiful" she whispered into Lindsey's ear. "You make me feel beautiful Tegan... and I love you and thank you for that" smiled Lindsey. The photographer came back into the room and found Lindsey and Tegan standing hand in hand in their robes. "You two are so cute together... you ready?" she smiled. Tegan gently took off Lindsey's robe followed by her own. Lindsey had her hands over her breasts. "I feel so exposed... and shy" she blushed. "I do this all the time Lindsey... you're so beautiful... relax and just do your thing guys" said the photographer.
Tegan of course, was a natural. She turned Lindsey towards her and put her hand on her belly and kissed her forehead as the photographer clicked away. It was as if she wasn't even there. Tegan had Lindsey in the palm of her hand. Their intimacy was beautiful. Tegan moved behind her and put her arms around her waist and onto her belly while kissing her neck. Lindsey threw her head back and smiled. Lindsey kissed Tegan softly with her fingers on Tegan's long scar on her chest. After a few different poses Tegan gently helped Lindsey onto the bed and played with her hair then kissed her belly. They were talkative and playful as the camera kept clicking for a long time. The photographer didn't need to give any direction. After a while Tegan smiled "I'm fucking freezing... are we done?" she asked. "You guys were absolutely amazing. I can't wait to send you these shots" said the photographer with a huge smile.
"Let's get home. I'm so turned on right now" laughed Tegan as they got dressed quickly after the photographer left the room. "Tell me about it. But you're late for rehearsals" said Lindsey. "Fuck rehearsals... I want to make love to my incredible wife" said Tegan.
