Tegan and Lindsey were making out in the back of the SUV all the way back to their new house. The car stopped and the driver slash security guard cleared his throat to get their attention. It didn't work. He got out of the car and cleared his throat again before slamming the door hard. "Oh, we're here" said Tegan and looked around with hair standing in all directions. "Come here, let me fix your hair" said Lindsey laughing and patted down Tegan's hair.
The head of the decorating team walked out of the house to welcome Tegan and Lindsey. "We're so excited to show you your new home ladies" he said and led them inside. Tegan's mouth fell open when she walked into the living room. "It's amazing... I love it" she shrieked. The room was filled with brand new furniture and had some incredible pieces of art on the walls, all especially chosen by Tegan and Lindsey. The kitchen was fully equipped and ready to be used. "I'm ecstatic so far! It's amazing guys. Exactly what we wanted" said Lindsey. "Let's get to the important part! The baby room!" smiled Tegan. "You... are so cute" smiled Lindsey and kissed Tegan.
The hallway was decorated with framed photos of their friends and family. They looked at the office first. It was beautifully done with Lindsey's black and white photos of Tegan and Sara performing on the walls. Tegan jogged into the playroom excitedly. "Oh my gosh... this is perfect" she said picking up a stuffed giraffe. The room was colorful and decorated with a safari theme. All the new toys were already displayed on shelves and a book case filled with kids books was standing in the corner. There were two cool, comfy chairs in the corner and some bean bags on the colorful carpet. "For the moms" said the decorator pointing at the chairs. "Thanks, but knowing this mom she'll be down on the carpet with them" smiled Lindsey pointing at Tegan.
The very spacious baby room was gorgeous. The room was mainly white with shades of grey and and music theme. Music notes floated on the wall. Two matching cribs, a large changing table and two rocking chairs occupied the space. Sonia's hand made quilts were already in the cribs. The cot mobiles were music notes and instruments. Tegan was in tears. "This is exactly how I imagined it... thank you guys... you're geniuses" smiled Tegan wiping away her tears. She opened the cupboard. The new baby clothes were washed and ready to be used, folded perfectly. "Erin had her housekeeping staff take care of the washing and folding" smiled the decorator.
The main bedroom was beautifully done in all white. The king sized bed was huge but not intimidating in the large room. Tegan lay down on it and closed her eyes. "I love it... so comfy" she sighed. "And with enough space for the entire family" laughed Lindsey. "I just hope I don't need a map to find you on this thing" said Tegan. "Oh no no... I'm sticking to you like glue... you won't need a map" winked Lindsey.
"Erin's already offered to have her assistant manage the move for you. Most of your stuff's in storage and we're hoping to have everything in for you by tomorrow night" said the decorator. "Wow... you're moving our stuff for us?" said Tegan. "Yes" he smiled. "You don't have to do that though... you've done so much already" said Tegan. "Babe... let them do it. I can't exactly do too much and you'll be in rehearsals all day... and I reeaaaally want to move in as soon as possible" said Lindsey. "Okay... deal" smiled Tegan and kissed Lindsey holding her face. "I'm so fucking excited! Can't wait to try out this bed" giggled Tegan into Lindsey's ear. "Yeah... can't wait... but you rock star... are now really late for rehearsal and Sara's going to kill you" smiled Lindsey.
Tegan dropped Sara off at Kate's house after a busy afternoon of rehearsals. Sara stood in front of the door for a while and took a deep breath before ringing the bell. Kate opened the door with a massive smile. She was wearing an apron and the smell of dinner and the sounds of jazz floated out of the door. "Welcome home baby" smiled Kate and pulled Sara in after a long kiss. "Something smells amazing" said Sara. "Special dinner for a special occasion" smiled Kate leading Sara to the living room by the hand. "Sit down and make yourself comfortable" said Kate and poured Sara a glass of champagne. "Kate why is there a guard outside the gate" asked Sara. Kate looked down. "Because... I want you to feel safe here. She knew that the guard was there for Kate's peace of mind, not hers. "How'd it go with Violet today" asked Sara. "Good... I guess" said Kate looking somewhat dejected. I have to go check on dinner" she said getting up.
Sara followed her into the kitchen. Kate stirred something in silence for a while before eventually blurting out "She didn't clear me to go back to work" said Kate. "Oh... "You want to phone her and check?" asked Sara picking up Kate's concern. "Um... I don't want her to feel we're babying her" said Kate. Sara shrugged. "Do you think we should?" asked Kate. "Well you can just phone to say Hi and work in your questions somehow" said Sara, silently also wanting to check on Tegan.
"Teegs hi" said Kate into the phone. "I hear you saw your finished house today... you excited?... Can't wait to see it... Oh we just had dinner, hoping Sara likes her new home" said Kate. Sara rolled her eyes and laughed. "I love it" she said into the phone. "Mmm... yeah... oh that's cool... anyway... how are you feeling Tee?" said Kate. Kate was quiet for a while while Tegan updated her before ranting on about not worrying about her. "Okay great... you know where to find us if you need anything... alright bud... see you tomorrow. Kate lit the fireplace after their amazing candle lit dinner and put a mattress, some blankets and pillows out in front of it.
