Chapter 136
Tegan rolled around trying her best to fall asleep. She felt Lindsey stir and get up to go to the bathroom. She didn't move a muscle and pretended to be asleep. "Tegan... I know you're awake" said Lindsey softly. "Uh huh" grunted Tegan. "You've been rolling around all night" said Lindsey putting her arm around Tegan. "Sorry... did I wake you up" whispered Tegan. "No... I'm awake a lot anyway babe... what's up?" whispered Lindsey into Tegan's neck. "Nothing... must be excitement... and nerves" said Tegan and got up to go to the bathroom.
Tegan returned a few minutes later and cuddled up to Lindsey. "Tee... are you okay?" said Lindsey quickly, sitting up and switching the light on. "Huh? Yeah of course I am" said Tegan looking confused. Lindsey put her hand on Tegan's forehead. "Baby you're kind of warm... you may have a fever" said Lindsey. "What? I don't have a fever Lindsey, I'm fine" said Tegan sitting up. Lindsey touched Tegan's forehead again. "For God's sake Lindsey get a grip" said Tegan, she pushed Lindsey's hands away and got up. She walked to the kitchen.
A few seconds later Lindsey followed. "Tegan... come back" she said. "No... I'm going to make some chamomile tea" said Tegan sounding annoyed. "Sweetheart... I'm sorry for upsetting you... It's just that... I worry about you" said Lindsey softly standing on the other side of the counter. "You're just paranoid because Kate's not sleeping on the same property tonight... and I get that Linds but seriously... I'm all better now" said Tegan turning away and opening the teabag. "Well excuse me for caring about my wife" said Lindsey sarcastically. "Linds... It's fine" said Tegan. "I'm sorry Tegan... but can I check your temperature please" said Lindsey. Tegan rolled her eyes. "There's nothing wrong with me... but okay if it's going to make you relax... whatever" said Tegan shaking her head. Lindsey turned around and went back into the bedroom. She walked back out with the digital thermometer and put her hand on Tegan's shoulder. "Just a few seconds Tee" she said "Just a few seconds to make me relax". Tegan turned to Lindsey. "Okay then... what are you waiting for?" she said sounding annoyed.
Lindsey put the device in Tegan's ear. Tegan stared intensely into Lindsey's eyes without a word. The machine beeped. "99.2" said Lindsey. "That's normal" said Tegan and continued making her tea. "Isn't that a high normal?" said Lindsey. "No... anyway, maybe I'm ovulating or something... and I've been sweating it out rolling around under that comforter the whole night" said Tegan. Lindsey Googled something on her phone. "An early morning temperature higher than 98.9°F or a late afternoon temperature higher than 99.9°F is normally considered a fever" she read. "Yeah "normally" – maybe this isn't a normal situation you know. I'll know if I have a fever. I don't" said Tegan becoming more upset. "Okay... maybe you don't... but can we keep an eye on this for a few minutes please" asked Lindsey. "Oh for fuck sakes" screamed Tegan at the top of her voice and threw a drying towel onto the floor in anger. Lindsey closed her eyes, her chin started to quiver and she turned around and walked back into the bedroom.
"Fuck" sighed Tegan. "Dammit Tegan" she exclaimed and kicked the kitchen counter. "Ouch" she breathed. Tegan paced up and down trying to calm herself down before walking back to the bedroom. She sat down on the side of the bed next to Lindsey. Lindsey closed her eyes. "I'm sorry" said Tegan softly. Lindsey didn't reply and turned her head away. "Linds? I'm really sorry... I'm a dick. A dick that may or may not have a fever" said Tegan. Lindsey opened her eyes. "I hate it when you shout at me... I... I hate it" she said through tears. "I'm sorry Lindsey... I'm sorry for shouting at you" said Tegan and tears started to build. "I'm just so on edge... I feel as if I could snap in two any second. If you shove a lump of coal up my ass, in two days time you'll have a diamond, I'm so uptight. I'm sorry for taking it out on you" said Tegan. Lindsey couldn't help laughing. "Two more days Tegan... then your tests will be over... the show will be over... and we can relax until the babies come. Hang in there" said Lindsey, all defenses crumbling. "Yeah two more days" said Tegan. "Come back to bed now... it's 3 am. Just sleep under the sheet for a while so you can cool down" said Lindsey.
Tegan lay on her back staring at the ceiling in the dark with Lindsey in her arms listening to the rumbling thunder outside. "I hope it rains so it can cool down a bit" said Lindsey. "Yeah I hope it rains now and not Saturday!" said Tegan. "Saturday's going to be perfect... I checked the weather forecast" said Lindsey. "I wonder how Kate's special romantic evening went" said Tegan. "I'm sure we'll see a steam cloud if we look in that general direction" said Lindsey. "I'm happy for them" said Tegan. "Hmmm" smiled Lindsey. "Babies are moving" she said. "They're probably upset because they heard their mom's fight" said Tegan sounding emotional. "I don't think it's that babe" said Lindsey. "Let's not fight in front of them... ever" said Tegan. "Well... we'll try not to fight in front of them... it's not always that easy but we'll try... how does that sound?" said Lindsey. "I don't remember my parents fighting... while they were still married you know... I don't remember my mom and Bruce fighting either... but they sure as hell fought... no doubt! I remember them looking unhappy... I remember my mom crying but not like screaming at each other" said Tegan. "They created a safe space for you... that's great" smiled Lindsey. "Well, they tried" said Tegan. "I do... I remember so much fighting... I remember hiding from it... it made me feel so scared... alone" said Lindsey sounding sad. "I'm sorry Boo... and I'm sorry for bringing back those memories. I'll never hurt you" said Tegan rubbing Lindsey's arm. "I know baby" whispered Lindsey.
"Tegan... I want them to have the Quin last name" said Lindsey. "Really? Why would you want that? Not that I'm objecting... but... you're going to be giving birth to them?" said Tegan perplexed. "I know... and it's your DNA Tegan... not mine... besides... the Quins have done so much more for me than the Byrnes' ever have" said Lindsey calmly. "Are you sure Lindsey... because I'll be happy either way? Double barrel?" said Tegan. "I'm sure, anyway... those double barrel surnames sound ridiculous. Maybe we can use it as a second name but not as part of the last name" said Lindsey. "I know insomnia sucks but I'm enjoying our middle of the night talks" said Tegan. "Me too... I don't know how I'm ever going to cope without you next to me every night when you go on tour again" smiled Lindsey. "You're gonna come with me that's how" said Tegan. She silently thought about the future of the band, not wanting to burden Lindsey with her internal battle.
They lay in silence for a few minutes. Tegan ran her fingers up and down Lindsey's arm softly. Lindsey felt Tegan's steady heartbeat under her cheek and it made her feel sleepy and safe. "Honey... do you want to take my temp again before we fall asleep?" asked Tegan. "Yeah... just want to take care of my precious wife. You still feeling okay?" she smiled and sat up. She looked at Tegan's face in the moonlight. Tegan smiled. "Yes... I'm fine" she smiled. Lindsey took Tegan's temperature again. "98.8" she smiled. "Told you so" smiled Tegan. Lindsey tickled her. "Shut up wise ass" she lovingly joked and kissed Tegan. "I love how you can break down my defenses... and my "fever" apparently" said Tegan laughing.
"Hey guess what... tomorrow night we'll be sleeping in our own bed... in our own house" smiled Lindsey. "I can't wait. But first I have to get through the final day of rehearsals... And my checkup" sighed Tegan. "Yeah and you need to get some sleep now if you're going to get through it in once piece" said Lindsey. "I know... how do you feel about the koala?" asked Tegan sheepishly. "I'm all for it, if it's going to get you to fall asleep. Cuddle away babe" said Lindsey. "I love you... I don't think I say it enough" said Tegan. "Sweetie you say it a hundred times a day" said Lindsey as Tegan cuddled up to her. "Yeah well... a million times a day won't be enough... you saved me Lindsey" said Tegan into Lindsey's neck. "You saved me first" said Lindsey. Tegan put her hand on Lindsey's belly. "Get some sleep now" whispered Lindsey.

Tegan walked into rehearsal room early morning and looked at her watch. Sara was late. The guys were only scheduled to join them an hour later. They just wanted an hour to strategise. Tegan started playing her secret song and she smiled. A few minutes later Sara came jogging in looking flustered but she had a huge grin on her face. "Morning! I'm not gonna say it" said Tegan. "Hi... I know... I'm late. I'm sorry" said Sara still grinning. "Looks as if somebody got it all this morning" laughed Tegan. "Shut up" said Sara smiling. "How's the new crib?" asked Tegan. "Amazing... well to be honest we could be living in a shack and I'd be happy" said Sara. "Who would have ever thought... Sara and Kate... interesting" said Tegan tuning her guitar. "Interesting?" asked Sara frowning. Tegan just looked at her and smiled. "Why?" Sara pushed. "Interesting that you two... tamed each other that's all" said Tegan. "Well last night was hardly tame" said Sara under her breath. "Eeeuuww, TMI Sara... TMI" joked Tegan. Sara shrugged. "I'm so happy for you Sara. You deserve every bit of happiness" said Tegan sincerely. "Thank you Tee... that means a lot. I want to shout it from the rooftops... I'm like a teenager" blushed Sara.
"How are you doing?" asked Sara. "Great... no problems" said Tegan. "Final round of tests... hopefully, at the hospital this afternoon and then we're good to gooo" said Tegan. "A day of chapters ending... and new ones chapters beginning" said Sara. "Indeed, let's get cracking on that set list. Can't believe we don't have a final one yet!" said Tegan.
"Tegan... what do you want to do about the banters?" asked Sara. "What do you mean?" asked Tegan. "I mean... stuff is going to come up... What's okay to talk about and what isn't?" asked Sara. "Talk about whatever you want Sar... It's going to come out anyway. Just don't scare the audience... or depress them you know... I trust you. Just wing it" smiled Tegan. "Yeah we're both big fans of winging it aren't we. It's just... We're probably going to... I dunno... be emotional wrecks" said Sara looking up at Tegan. "We'll just have to have each other's backs like we always do" said Tegan calmly.

Tegan walked into the guest house where Lindsey was packing their belongings. "Linds why don't you just stay and pack today... I'll be fine at the hospital. Plus you really need some rest" said Tegan. Lindsey looked at her as if she was crazy. "Uhhh no... I'm coming. I'm pretty much done here" said Lindsey. "Sweetie it's really not necessary" said Tegan. "I don't want to fight about this... get your stuff we're going" said Lindsey. Tegan just shook her head and obliged, not keen to get into another fight.
The car stopped in front of the hospital and Tegan and Lindsey was greeted by a ton of paps. "How the fuck do they know when we have an appointment" said Tegan sounding pissed. "Ignore them. They're just following you around because tomorrow's the big show" said Lindsey. "I'm just going to tell them we're here for your check-up" said Tegan. "Whatever you think babe" said Lindsey. Reporters were screaming when the door opened. "Tegan how are you feeling... Are you okay to perform tomorrow... Tegan! Over here... Tegan is the concert going ahead" they screamed. "Guys... guys... calm down... Concert's going to rock tomorrow... we're just here for Lindsey's standard check-up" said Tegan smiling. "Weren't you here just the other day? Are they babies okay? Who's the sperm donor? Lindsey are you okay?" they screamed. Tegan rolled her eyes and walked into the building, her arm protectively around Lindsey's back.
Kate met them inside and took them straight to an exam room. "Karev my man" said Tegan hi-fiving Karev on her way to the exam room. "Hey rock star... can't wait for the show tomorrow" he said. "Hot date?" asked Tegan. "Maybe" said Karev and laughed. "I hope you didn't bring your hot dates into my house" said Kate. Karev shrugged and gave a naughty smile. "That's disgusting... Let me just poke out my mind's eye. I'm sending you a cleaning bill by the way... I'm dreading Sara finding underwear in my couch cushions" said Kate. Tegan stepped into the exam room still laughing. She was relieved that somebody broke the tension. "You ready to ace these tests bud?" asked Kate. "Let's do it" said Tegan determined.
"I'm going to give you a second to get into your beautiful gown" said Kate and put a hospital bracelet on Tegan's arm. "Really?" asked Tegan with her eyebrows raised. "Rules you know... in case you wander off and get lost" winked Kate. Tegan sat on the edge of the bed in the hospital gown holding Lindsey's hand when Kate came back in. "Okay... let's have a listen" said Kate, her smile reassuring as ever. "Feels kind of weird seeing you in the white coat again" said Tegan making small talk. "I know right... white is so not my colour" joked Kate. "I disagree... you were born to wear white" said Tegan. "Hmmmm... don't know about that... anyway... deep breath in... and out... and in... keep going you know the drill" said Kate. She had a look of concentration on her face. "Sounds really good... you're doing great... just breathe normally now while I listen to the ticker" said Kate listening to Tegan's heart before moving onto her back.
"Heart sounds normal. Lungs sound clear... still a bit tight but I'm happy so far" said Kate making notes on an iPad. Lindsey gave a sigh of relief. "Abby let's get a BP and a blood glucose and draw three tubes of blood please" said Kate before rattling off a list of blood tests. Tegan felt the familiar tightening of the BP cuff around her bicep and closed her eyes trying to calm herself down. "BP is looking just fine. 116 over 78" reported Abby. "Great. I'm going to hook you up to old faithful here while Abby draws some blood" said Kate starting to put electrodes on Tegan's chest. Tegan could tell that Kate was much more at ease than during her last full check-up. Almost just ticking the boxes. It made her feel calm.
Kate started humming. Tegan repressed a laugh. Kate looked at her and frowned. "What?" she asked. "Oh nothing... so filled with joy today it's overflowing?" asked Tegan. "Huh?" said Kate. "The humming?" said Tegan. "What humming" said Kate. "Oh you have it bad" laughed Tegan. "I guess I do" said Kate blushing and flipping the switch on the heart monitor. "Look at that beautiful sinus rhythm" smiled Kate looking at the monitor. "Temps 100.1" said Abby. "Mmm... say ahh" said Kate looking into Tegan's throat with a light. "Is that too high?" mumbled Tegan with the tongue depressor in her mouth. "It's on the high side but it's still normal, it doesn't always mean a fever... or even a pre-fever. Do you feel okay, any body aches, chills?" asked Kate not sounding particularly worried. "No I'm fine, I feel great" said Tegan. "We'll check it again later, don't worry. You probably just had a busy day and it's boiling outside" she smiled.
Kate moved on to the neurological tests, shining a light in and out of Tegan's pupils and getting her to follow her finger. "Cool... all good. We'll do the lung function tests after the scans" said Kate looking at her watch. An orderly came in and pushed Tegan's bed out. "Can't I just walk there" asked Tegan. "You don't want to walk wearing this gown trust me... it's pretty... airy at the back. Chill and enjoy the free ride" said Kate. "Bye baby" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan's forehead. "It's going to be fine" she whispered and squeezed Tegan's hand.
"Kind of neat having you as my only patient" said Kate walking next to Tegan's bed. "When are they going to let you go back to work permanently?" asked Tegan. "Meh... don't know... soon I hope... just enjoying the holiday right now" smiled Kate. "Can you deliver the babies at least?" asked Tegan. "Yeah, that's under control Tee... Violet's going to sign off on that tomorrow" said Kate hoping she wasn't lying.
The next second a photographer appeared in front of them and started snapping photos of Tegan. "Fuck" mumbled Tegan and put her hands over her face. "Security!" yelled Kate. "How the hell did he get in here" said Kate sounding livid as the photographer ran down the hall. "I'm sorry Tegan" said Kate. "Get security up here and clear this floor. I want a report on this. And can you try and seal the exits to catch this jerk" said Kate. Kate looked down at Tegan's heart monitor between her feet. It was racing. "Tee... try and calm down... I know you had a bit of an adrenaline rush there but we need you calm for the CT okay" said Kate gently as they pushed her into the CT room.
"Let's do the X-ray first her heart is racing" said Kate and started pushing Tegan in another direction. Tegan had her arm over her eyes and tried to steady her breathing using the relaxation techniques Kate taught her. "Do you need your inhaler?" asked Kate. Tegan nodded. "I came prepared this time" said Kate pulling Tegan's inhaler out of her coat pocket. Tegan felt better after a puff from her inhaler. "Relax Tee, they're going to catch this asshole" said Kate.
After X-rays Tegan was taken for her CT scan. Her adrenaline rush had subsided somewhat and she felt a bit calmer. "You want a bit of happy gas again?" asked Kate. "No... don't want to be all groggy this evening. We still have some rehearsals scheduled for tonight" said Tegan. "Okay... scoot over onto the space ship. You know the drill. Stay really still. Hang on... Almost forgot your labret in. Hand it over, no metal in there" said Kate.
Tegan closed her eyes and felt the bed move into the scanner. She closed her eyes and tried to relax. "Doing great in there Tee" said Kate over the intercom. "Feels like God talking into my ear when you do that" joked Tegan. "Well who says it's not God talking. Hello Tegan... have you been a good girl?" said Kate in a deep voice and laughed. Tegan laughed. "Now you just sound like Santa. You didn't get your brother's acting talents did you" said Tegan. "I'm getting the stinkeye from Jeff here. He wants you to stop laughing and stay still now... okay here we go" said Kate. Kate's voice disappeared... Tegan wished it was still there. A few minutes later Kate walked back into the room as the bed moved out of the scanner. She took Tegan's hand in hers. She looked at the heart monitor picking up speed. "Guess what... you're still my star patient. CT is clear" said Kate with a massive smile. Tears of relief rolled down the sides of Tegan's face into her hairline. "Thank you... thank you" is all she could get out. "The spots we saw last time is still there of course but they haven't grown or multiplied and we've already established what they are and that they don't need to go anywhere" said Kate. Tegan nodded as Kate wheeled her out of the room looking ecstatic.
"One more biggy... the MRI... it's just a precaution Tegan. Just want to double check so I can give you the all clear today. Takes a while to do this one though, and it's super noisy so we're going to put these headphones on for you so you can listen to some music instead of what sounds like a construction site" said Kate. "Okay... don't remember having this one before" said Tegan. "You've had it a few times but you were unconscious... probably a good thing" smiled Kate. "What music would you like... gosh they've got some crap here... oh here's some classical stuff... or mmmm... yeah that's about it" said Kate. "Can you plug my phone in?" asked Tegan. "I can plug mine in? Any requests, I'll see if I have it" said Kate while the nurse helped Tegan onto the MRI bed. "You know what... I really want to listen to our very first album... but I doubt you have it so.." said Tegan. "Oh I have it!" exclaimed Kate. "Whoa I don't even have that on my iPod" said Tegan. "Well... it's my girlfriend you know... I'm... re-familiarising myself with her work" said Kate.
"Kate put the massive noise canceling earphones on Tegan before the bed moved into the scanner. This machine was way more claustrophobic than the CT and Tegan closed her eyes. "Okay Tegan. Just relax. This will be done in a jiffy" said Kate. "Ha... a jiffy" mumbled Tegan. The sounds of "Divided" filled her ears and she smiled. She sounded so young. She thought about that 18 year old kid, writing that song in her bedroom. That kid that didn't know how much possibility lay before her... how much joy... pain. She swallowed hard as she was transported to a simpler time. She felt a strange kind of calm wash over her. In that moment she knew she was okay. She almost forgot that she was in a giant tube being taken internal pictures of and she didn't even notice herself growing sleepy.
Kate looked at Tegan's body as it slowly came out of the tube. Tegan was out for the count and even snoring softly. She slowly turned down the music volume and removed the earphones but Tegan didn't stir. "Okay guys, let's give sleeping beauty over here a lift onto her bed" said Kate before helping some nurses and an orderly lift her onto her own bed. Tegan smiled in her sleep and moved onto her side into the foetal position. "Abby, I'm going to have a quick consult with the radiologist. I'll be there in a few minutes. Let her sleep" said Kate.
Abby pushed a sleeping Tegan back into the exam room where Lindsey waited in a recliner. She jumped up immediately. "How'd it go?" she asked Abby, her eyes wide. "It went well Lindsey. Kate is just consulting the radiologist. She'll be here in a few minutes to talk to you" said Abby. "Did you drug her up again?" asked Lindsey frowning. "No... we didn't. She just fell asleep during the MRI. It's pretty boring in there and it takes about thirty minutes so" said Abby smiling. "She didn't sleep very well last night so it's a good thing she worked this nap in. She needs it" said Lindsey. "She's a lucky girl to have you take care of her Lindsey" said Abby and left the room. Lindsey stared at Tegan's sleeping face like she had so often during the last few months.
Kate walked back into the room a few minutes later. "Still sleeping?" she asked. "Uh huh" said Lindsey softly and stroke Tegan's hair. Tegan smiled in her sleep and suddenly opened her eyes with a gasp. "Hey dopey" said Lindsey. "Is it over?" asked Tegan. "It's over" smiled Kate. "Damn I had the weirdest dream" said Tegan looking perplexed. Kate pushed a button that moved the head of the bed up. "Did you have another nightmare sweetie?" asked Lindsey concerned, helping Tegan sit up. Tegan burst out laughing. "Um... kind of... I... I dreamed that we were on stage... I was naked. And at first I was horrified... trying to cover myself up somehow... strangely enough not running off stage... but horrified!" said Tegan. "O dear" laughed Lindsey. "Hang on there's more... I suddenly didn't care and I... I just embraced it you know... and I threw my arms open for everybody to see... and then I continued with the show... it was fucking weird" said Tegan. "Well I'm no psychologist but it sounds to me as if... as if this has something to do with that interview you have planned... and the show tomorrow. How you're going to expose yourself... but how that's going to liberate you?" said Kate with her hands up in a question. "Well that sounds plausible. You're good at this... maybe you should change your speciality to psych?" said Tegan. "No way in hell that will ever happen" laughed Kate. "By the way they caught that pap... and they deleted the photos off his camera" said Kate. "What pap?" asked Lindsey confused. "It's nothing baby" said Tegan.
"Anyway... enough smalltalk... what's the verdict?" asked Tegan stretching. She didn't look stressed at all. "I just had a look at all the scans and the blood test results" said Kate looking serious. "And?" asked Lindsey sounding panicked. "And it's good news. All clear. You're doing great" said Kate and a massive smile appeared on her face. "Oh thank God" exclaimed Lindsey and kissed Tegan repeatedly all over her face. "You hear that Boo... you're all good" smiled Lindsey. "Thank you Kate... I don't know how I can ever thank you" said Tegan. "By going out and living a full and happy life" said Kate. "Deal" said Tegan holding her hand out to Kate. "Let's check your lung function so you can get out of here!" said Kate shaking Tegan's hand.
Abby retook Tegan's temperature. "98.9" she said smiling. "Cool as a cucumber" said Kate and winked. Tegan did the horrible lung function tests with a smile. "Your lungs are doing well... you still have some residual damage so you're not 100% yet, but I am sure that you'll make a full recovery in a few months. You are doing as well as can be expected. You've really surpassed all of our expectations. Keep doing your exercises, they're working! Meanwhile you've got the all clear to put on one hell of a show tomorrow. I'm still going to insist on those two breaks. I'm going to give you some IV fluids in the afternoon, nebulise you. Kind of like a car service before a big trip" said Kate. "Yeah but you said I'm fine" said Tegan sounding confused. "You are, with a little bit of damage still, so I want you trust me on this Tegan. During the breaks I'm going to examine you, take your BP, pulse ox and all the rest and I want you to shut up and let me do it okay. No fighting... I'll probably give you a little bit of supplemental oxygen during those breaks too, just see that as fuel. Have your inhaler with you and use it when you need it. Just trust me and you'll be fine okay" smiled Kate. "Okay... I trust you" said Tegan. "Go to bed early tonight... get some rest! You're gonna need it. I'll prescribe something to help you sleep. Take it if you need it! Lindsey you make her take it if she can't sleep! And tomorrow you take a nap in the afternoon please!" said Kate. "Yes mother" said Tegan rolling her eyes. "If you feel unwell I want you to promise to go offstage... promise me Tegan" said Kate. "I'm not going to feel unwell but sure, I promise" said Tegan. "I know... I'm sure you're going to wax this show and everything's going to be perfect... I'm so proud of you Tegan" said Kate and hugged her friend.

Tegan walked into the music room where Sara and the band were rehearsing without her. "Guess whaaaat?" she said with a massive grin and her arms outstretched. "I've got the all clear" she said. Sara walked over to her without a word and hugged her tight for what felt like forever. "I'm okay Sara... no more fucking spots and nodules and operations and shit... I'm okay" whispered Tegan into Sara's ear. The guys were all applauding and most of them were in tears. "Congratulations Tee... don't you ever fucking do that to me again" said Sara wiping her cheeks. Sara looked at the hospital bracelet still on Tegan's arm. "We need scissors, or a knife" said Sara. Jasper pulled a swiss army knife out of his pocket and opened the mini scissors. "Such a boy" said Sara taking the tool from him. "Is this is like a ribbon cutting ceremony or something?" asked Tegan. "Yup... with this I declare you hospital free and open for business" said Sara grinning as she cut the band off. "Cheers to that" said Ted holding up his can of Coke. "Let's do this shit" said Tegan grinning, putting her guitar over her shoulder.
A/N: A very long, happy chapter that should have actually been two but I don't know where to cut it. Hope you enjoyed it! Almost showtime! Good thing Tegan got the all clear (physically at least)! Review please! The last chapter left most of you... eh... speechless?
