Getting points in this hellscape of a city was hard. Like really hard.

Everyone had already locked on to the first robot they saw and left Izuku with nothing but scraps that he'd have to scrape up.

He locked his eyes on an incoming three-pointer. 'Finally! Some leverage I can use here!' He dashed off with One For All rearing at a quarter of its percentage.

"Texas-" He pulled his fist back while in mid-air. "Smash!" He punched the air and the sheer air pressure was enough to blow it away into bits and pieces.

He dropped down onto the ground with One For All reinforcing his legs. He wiped the sweat off his head. "Alright, if I had a rough estimate I'd be around twenty-two points at least."

He glanced over his surroundings and saw nothing but broken robot pieces and scrap metal until something entered his peripheral vision. 'A group of them?!'

Indeed it was a group of two and three-pointers wandering around the city searching for people to eliminate or hold off.

'They must've stuck to the alleyways and used stealth to their advantage, these robots are smart!' He admitted. "But, I'm smarter. " He grinned as he remembered the feeling of electricity crackling through his veins.

He dashed off at them quicker than their sensors could perceive and lunged his right fist into the first two-pointer. "That's one!" He spoke as he removed his smoking fist, then he charged at the various other robots.

"That's a two, and a three!" He said after finishing a combo on two robots.

Nearly half of them were exterminated and Izuku was still hungry for points. He let a confident grin take over his expression and resided One For All into his arm and legs. "I have to end this quickly. Can't spend too much time having fun here!"

The robots readied their miniguns and started firing at him. Izuku yelped. "They didn't have miniguns before!" He immediately channeled One For All into his legs and eyes to avoid the gunfire.

Unfortunately, one of them hit. "Ugh!" He grunted as he got hit in the stomach. 'Rubber bullets huh? Guess I underestimated them a little bit.' His smile faltered. 'Although, I still have a trick up my sleeve for all of you!'

He channeled One For All at half of its power into his left arm and both of his legs. "It's time to finish this!" He leaped after the robots with amazing speed as he could feel himself surpassing the sound barrier.

While in the air, he spun around, using his momentum to his advantage while gathering wind pressure. 'Page fifty-six of All Might's analysis! Spin around spherically to gather momentum, and release all of that momentum with a punch!

There was no time for the robots to even react to him. "CALIFORNIA-" Once they sensed his incoming Smash they immediately tried to retreat but it was too late.

"SMAAASH!" He slammed into the group using pure kinetic energy and with so much force that the robots were pulverized into nothing but bits and pieces.

He was left panting from the attack and had to hold his knees for support but smiled. 'All Might's power is amazing. Is this what he feels for those several hours a day? Apart from the hole in his side.'

He shook his head. "Anyways, that should put me around at least forty-five points as of now. It looks like I'll still need more points though if I want to pass." He grunted.

Suddenly, he heard the ground rumbling. "What was that?!" He exclaimed as he heard people shouting in the main streets.

He immediately dashed off with One For All aiding his travel. When he ran into the main street he was just left confused.

People were running in the opposite direction, even though there were a lot of villain bots in the area. 'That can't be right, why would they pass up an opportunity to get points?' He pondered.

Then suddenly, someone called out to him. "Yo, broccoli boy! Why aren't you running?! It'll be dangerous if you try and fight the Zero-Pointer." A red-haired boy told him.

Izuku was confused until the boy mentioned 'Zero Pointer' to him. "Wait, Zero-Pointer?!" He looked behind him and nearly all the blood from his face drained away.

Standing hundreds of meters into the air, the goliath known as the Zero-Pointer was tearing down the city-block with punches and crushing anything in its path.

Izuku was too shocked to move or do anything. 'How did something like this get approved? It's the size of a skyscraper!'

He too was about to turn tail and run, but his body wouldn't respond. So he feebly tried to crawl his away from the robot, but he just wasn't fast enough and-

"Ow!"

Izuku stopped speaking when he heard a noise. He looked back and saw a brunette trapped under some rubble. She was struggling to get out of it.

Izuku froze.

Suddenly, he felt his feet starting to pound the ground with all the strength he could muster. A feminine voice filled his ears as he could hear no sound other than the truth she spoke.

"There isn't room for failure in U.A High, and there isn't much room for success. It's why this school is hard to get into."

His feet started to pound the ground so hard he left his mini craters with each foot placed on the ground. The earth trembled before his might.

"But there is an opportunity. A chance to shine.

His feet leaped off the ground and before anyone could realize it, he was airborne. The examinees couldn't even properly perceive his movements and were left taken aback by the loud shockwave he produced.

"Some might call it foolish. Foolish to risk your life for another just to be honored with the title of hero. And they're right. It's reckless, but remember, when you summon One For All, remember why you were chosen."

He felt his body soar through the air with grace as no one could keep their eyes on him.

"Remember why you clench your fists."

He pulled his fist back and felt his sweatshirt sleeve tear.

"This is my last piece of advice, the advice I gave Toshinori when he took the Entrance Exam." Somehow, he could feel a fire swell deep inside him, something deeper than anything he's ever felt.

He zoomed by the buildings and far into the sky. Milliseconds passed by yet it felt like hours to Izuku.

"Remember to clench your butt-cheeks kid-"

"-AND YELL THIS FROM THE DEPTHS OF YOUR HEART!" He yelled.

"This is your quirk. This is your journey, and you control it." The voice took a pause. "I don't have much time to talk with you, but just remember." The voice spoke.

"This is One For All. "

He clenched his fists tighter than he ever clenched it, and while soaring towards the Zero-Pointer at unrecognizable speeds, he yelled-

"SMAAAAAAAAASH!" And he punched it's face.

All the teachers supervising the exam were gathered in a room, watching in amazement.

Toshinori was sitting in his true-form, sitting down inspecting the exam taking place, with wide-eyes.

Present Mic turned towards the rest of the examiners. "H-He took out the Zero-Pointer in one shot." He looked over to a co-worker. "You seeing this Shota-kun?"

Eraser-Head only nodded and then kept his thoughts to himself.

Midnight was grinning. "Looks like we've got a good batch of first years here, especially that green-haired one." She licked her lips. "Can't wait to have him in my class."

The principal responded to their comments. "Yes, he's an interesting one indeed, wouldn't you agree Yagi-san?"

The blonde nodded. "Yeah, he's something alright." He replied, but soon felt himself indulge in his own thoughts. If only you knew of the potential Young Midoriya is capable of that. That last Smash was something that impressed even me.

He couldn't even hide the grin that grew on his face.

He was hundreds of meters into the air when he noticed he had just used One For All at one hundred percent.

He gasped as he looked at the damage he had done. "Holy crap."

Where the Zero-Pointer once stood was only a solid crater with some bits and pieces of scrap metal. The force of his punch was so strong it destroyed a good chunk of the city-block.

"O-One For All caused this?!" He exclaimed in surprise. But he was more curious about who the woman was that talked to him. "W-What was that voice in my head?"

He didn't have time to think about the strange voice as gravity started to take effect.

"W-Woah!" He yelled as he soared through the air, approaching the ground closer and closer every second. He could feel the wind in his face and his velocity. He knew how gravity worked and if he didn't do something, he'd become a human pancake with his fluids as syrup.

He grunted as he forced One For All through his arm. "I'll have to pull off another Smash to generate enough wind pressure! Maybe that can slow my fall!"

He was approaching the ground fast and had his fist clenched just in case. "If I don't pull this off, I'll be finished!" He waited for the right moment to punch the air. 'Wait for it Izuku!'

And when the moment finally came-

He felt, weightless? And also a small-large pain on his cheek as if he had been slapped.

Izuku blinked. "Huh?"

He looked down at the ground and around his surroundings and found he was no longer frightfully falling through the air, instead, he was in a suspended motion.

Hold on. He looked over to his side and saw the Gravity Girl looking like she was about to puke her guts out. Hold on! It's that brunette who I saved!

"A-And, r-release." She clasped her fingers together and he fell on the ground with a thud.

She saved me… He looked behind himself and saw people approaching the scene.

One of them commented on the spectacle. "What the hell?!" They looked over to the remains of the Zero Pointer and the city block. "That broccoli kid did this? His quirk must be busted!"

Then the speakers came on. "Attention all examinees! The exam is officially over! Be out on your way in a few minutes! If you have injuries, please let U.A deal with them. Other than that, the results for your practical and written exam will be mailed to you in a few weeks time, goodbye!"

While everyone praised him for his actions, a short elderly lady came walking through the crowd. "Settle down now! I'll be attending any and all injuries any of you have!"

Izuku stared at her with surprise. "R-Recovery Girl?"

This drew the old heroines' attention. "Is something wrong sonny? You don't seem to be injured." She asked.

He began to slowly rise up from the street. "O-Oh, no, I'm fine. J-Just a little exhausted." He looked over to the brunette that saved him. "R-Really, it's her that needs help. It seems her quirk causes her nausea if she overuses it or something."

The elderly woman nodded. "Alrighty then, have some gummies and be on your way. The exam is over anyway."

He nodded and got up. He made his way towards the end of the examination site to check out of the premises.

His thoughts drifted back to the girl he saved. Man, I hope she's okay, it looks like she went over her limit. Then he started to think about his performance on the exam. I also hoped I passed. I mean, forty-five points and above is a decent score, right?

To take his mind off the exam, he took out his phone to check for any texts or hero-news. "Sensei didn't send me any messages yet? I'd at least hope he'd congratulate me for the last Smash, he was supervising after all."

He sighed. "Guess I'll just head home now. I got three weeks of free time anyway." He felt his shoulders buckle down with relief. "Might as well spend it well." And with that, he started jogging towards his home.

What could possibly go wrong in three weeks' time?

Author's notes: And here's Chapter 3 of Hero A. Sorry about the delay for the other fanfiction. It might not be here until after December. But anywho, I think I did pretty good with this one, no? Mainly because of the set-up I did with Nana Shimura in Izuku's head. Any questions you'll have for her appearance will be answered in later chapters.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the story, and thank you for reading this chapter!
