Chapter 6

A week had passed since Jennifer and Emily returned home from Salem. They now sat outside the FBI directors office awaiting the results from the I.A.B investigation. The two agents sat holding hands, drawing comfort from each other.

"You can go in now." The directors P.A told them

The director welcomed them and indicated where they should sit. They got comfortable on the settee and held hands the director sat opposite.

"I've had the report from I.A.B." He showed them then placed the folder onto the table. "After you visited, I looked into your B.A.U team in depth over the past five years. Your team has been exemplary. You have taken some extremely sick people out of circulation. Your team dynamic is obvious and the envy of the other teams. Chief Strauss has been hard on your team, not giving them any leeway. She has tried to transfer you three times, Agent Prentiss." He paused for a drink of water, " she told me it was because you refused to help her find dirt on Chief Hotchner. You refused and resigned. The case you and chief Hotchner returned to was going nowhere until the team was hole again. I also noticed the ambassador asked to keep Chief Strauss and Agent Morgan together on the same team and not punish any other team member. She never pleaded for her daughter or daughter-in-law." The director looked directly at JJ

"No, sir, our actions are on just myself and agent Prentiss. We will accept your decision, sir, even if it's termination from the FBI." JJ told the director

The director nodded at JJ and picked up the I.A.B report, and opened it. "They find you guilty of gross misconduct. Would you like me to read all your charges?" He asked

"No, thank you, sir, just the recommendation, please," Emily asked

"This review board recommends the immediate termination of Supervisory Special Agent's Emily Elizabeth Prentiss and Jennifer Jareau (Prentiss)", the director continued reading, but Emily and JJ had tuned out after immediate termination

The director had noticed they had both dropped their heads and zoned out. He gave them a moment and coughed

"Sorry, Sir." Both women replied

"You can both appeal the review board's decision." He offered to them

"No, sir, we both accept their decision." Jennifer quietly replied

"Fine, your termination from the Federal Bureau of Investigation is with immediate effect. Sign your termination paperwork, my P. A has it. You can also complete your paperwork for the FBI police. I was impressed by your loyalty to your old team. Falling on your swords helped save the remainder of your team." He had his hand up, stopping Emily and JJ in their tracks before they could speak. "You will remain partnered and be attached to the security detachment at Quantico. I have had legal raise documents for you to sign with a higher code of conduct for you to follow. Any breaking of the rules will result in instant dismissal of you both. If you bring the FBI into the public view by fighting again, I will crush you both. You won't even be able to flip burgers somewhere." The director finished.

"Thank you." Both ladies honestly said

The deputy director had mustered the whole B.A.U team with section chief Strauss in the round table room to find out the review board's recommendations. Hotch and Morgan were also to find out their punishment and new jobs. The mood was sombre when the assistant director walked in, followed by his P.A

"Take a seat he asked" the assistant director smiled

"Section Chief Strauss, your transfer to the Houston office has been stopped, your to continue at the head of the B.A.U. Your relationship with Supervisory Special Agent Morgan has been authorised in accordance with the director's new policy. The new policy will be circulated this afternoon. Chief Hotchner, you are to remain at the helm of your B.A.U team. Supervisory Special Agents Morgan, Rossi and Dr Reid are to remain with your team. Prentiss and Jareau have just been terminated from the FBI this morning. You will have to fill your empty spots immediately. I know they don't want you to know this. Miss Garcia, can you play this for me, please?" He handed over a memory stick

Garcia inserted the stick into her laptop, and the whole team started to watch Emily and Jennifer plead for the B.A.U team and Morgan and Strauss not to be broken up. Watching the entire video, they also noticed the ambassador had helped the team, but no attempt by Emily, JJ or the ambassador was made to save their jobs.

"I just thought you should know." Good afternoon agents.

"Oh!" Rossi just about vocalised every one thought in the room

EJ

Two weeks later, Emily and JJ were passed fit to return to work and stood in their new uniform before their bespectacled obnoxious supervisor, who already hated them. He had given them an hour-long brief on acceptable behaviour and standards that he expected. He then made them watch the Instagram video of the fight, explaining how it wouldn't happen on his watch.

"You're trouble makers. I hope you enjoy patrolling the outside of the building in the rain for the next eight hours." He smirked

Their supervisor had a copy of the strict rules they had to abide by. He knew he could have fun with his new officers.

Emily and JJ had patrolled around the Quantico grounds for five hours. They now sat in the cafeteria having a well-deserved coffee in the dry. Erin Strauss had noticed the two ladies and changed course to their table

"Jennifer, Emily, thank you. It doesn't seem enough but from the bottom of my heart, thank you." A contrite Erin tells them, "the team will be..." JJ raised her hand to stop her

"We would appreciate it if you kept this between us. I think it's impossible to mend our bridges, and we don't want to see anyone's pity. I know we're no longer profilers, but at least we can help as members of the FBI police force. Our public meltdown has made anything else in law enforcement untenable. It was nice seeing you, Ma'am" JJ smiled and replaced her baseball cap and waterproofs and left to continue patrolling

Fate wasn't listening to the two girls wishes as they got called to the white-collar floor. A visitor had got complicated, and they needed to escort them out of the building. Their radios dispatched them to the incident. Arriving, they could hear the shouts and the crying of young children.

Tye Masterson was here to plead his case for a clemency agreement for his subject. He had been caught stealing company money. He looked at the two uniformed officers approaching and panicked. He punched the two FBI agents and closed the meeting room door trapping the two agents and his family together. He checked the waistbands of the agents for their weapons, finding nothing. He checked the ankles and saw one agent still wearing his clutch piece.

JJ reported the incident to her supervisor and was told to wait until he arrived on the scene with the hostage negotiator. Emily looked at JJ, seeing that cheeky smile and squinted eyes indicating she would do precisely the opposite of what she should do like a little child. Emily smiled. God, she loved that look.

"You do know we are going to be fired after we do this?" Emily asked offhandedly

"Yep, a record. Eh. You know we can peacefully end this before it escalates." JJ smiled

"Looks like we are about to become ladies of leisure." Emily smiled, removing her utility belt and radio.

"Sir, my name is Jennifer. I'm here with my partner Emily. Can we come in? We are unarmed. We want to talk and make sure everyone is fine." JJ told him through the door. Tye opened the blinds and looked the two officers over.

The meeting room door opened, and he beckoned the pair in, locking the door after they entered. He searched them quickly and told them to sit on the floor cross-legged. Emily scanned the room. There were three young girls, his presumed wife and two unconscious FBI agents.

"You both look familiar. Have we met?" He asked the girls

Both told him no, they observed him he was profusely sweating, his hands had a slight tremor he was no professional criminal, this wasn't planned he just attacked the agents in panic.

"What's your name, sir?" JJ asked

"Tye." He replied

"Hello Tye, I'm going to crawl over on my hands and knees to check on the two agents. Is that ok?" JJ asked Tye. He nodded and allowed JJ to move across to the fallen agent.

Both agents had large bruises where they had been punched but otherwise fine. JJ crawled back to her spot next to Emily. "They seem fine, but I would suggest letting them out to be checked by a doctor head injuries can deteriorate so quickly. We would stay as your hostages."

"We're coming out with two injured agents. Stay back."JJ shouted as she looked at Emily facedown In front of Tye with the gun to her head.

She slowly opened the door and pulled out the first unconscious Agent into the hallway. She noticed everyone was stood back. She noticed her pissed off looking supervisor. She returned with the second agent.

"Officer Jareau, stand down let the professionals handle the case." Her supervisor ordered her

JJ just looked at him, shrugged and turned, re-entering the meeting room.

Emily could see the children shaking, looking terrified of their father.

"Girls, would you like to know a secret?" She pretended to whisper

All three young girls just nodded

"Jennifer, here is my wife. Do you know she is not human? She is a witch." Emily told her tiny audience. She felt JJ nudge her telling her she understood

The girls looked quizzically at Emily. She smiled, and JJ showed them her needle burn scars on her hands.

"She is green. I have to spray her pink every morning so she can fit in. Do you want to see her broomstick?" Emily smiled

"Yes, please." A small voice answered

JJ asked for permission to get something out of her pocket.

She pulled her broomstick key ring Emil had bought her as a joke. "Don't you worry about the size? It's just easier to carry around. Would you like to look after it for me?" JJ asked. She handed her keys over to the children.

"You're going to be careful with it, aren't you." JJ gave her best evil eye look. The kids just nodded, but they had stopped shaking

"Don't worry, she is a good witch, well unless I make her mad, then she turns me into a hamster. She puts me in a plastic ball and makes me roll everywhere. I can tell you are small, and fury with little feet is not fun at all." Emily smiles

JJ gives her best cackle. "I let her fly on my broomstick once in a while." JJ added, "Tye can I use the phone to get them to bring some juice boxes for the kids?"

He nodded

EJ

Morgan, Rossi, Hotch and Strauss stood in the white-collar divisions unit chief's office watching the hostage situation in the meeting room.

The unit chief briefed the group on the situation and the plan.

"They have requested juice boxes for the kids and have him release my two injured agents. Those two ladies in there are doing an excellent job. Why didn't you fight for them to stay in your team?" The unit chief asked

Morgan walked towards the meeting room door with the juice and some snacks for the kids. He knocked on the door and stood back. Emily opened the door and was surprised to see Derek deliver the fluid. She picked up the juice, but Morgan could still see shame in her brown eyes.

EJ

Tye picked two juice cartons out of the box and handed them to Emily and JJ to drink. They both drank the juice.

"See not drugged." Emily smiled, passing the juice boxes out to the children.

"Tye, what exactly did you do?" Emily asked

"I wrote a computer programme that accumulated all the pennies that got rounded out of totals. I installed the programme on one department's computer, and the next morning it had siphoned 1.5 million dollars. I installed it across the whole company and had 35.6 million. I only kept 5 million. I donated the rest to charities. I know I did wrong, but you don't know what's it is like to lose everything." He told Emily with tears streaming down his face,

Emily looked across at JJ and shrugged her shoulders. JJ asked if she could use her phone. Tye just nodded. JJ opened their Fight on youtube and handed her phone across. Tye watched the complete video

"I knew I recognised you both." He smiled

"That was when we both lost everything—we were elite profilers with the FBI's top team. We lost our friends by shattering too many bridges to be repaired. We are the laughing stock of law enforcement and after being sacked from the FBI, the only people willing to employ us was the FBI police. So we crashed from being elite profilers to walking security in the rain around Quantico. We can't even look at our friends we are too ashamed. So apart from jail we know, oh yes, we are going to be fired on our first day for disobeying a direct order. We know." JJ told him wiping the tears from her face.

EJ

The B.A.U team had just watched Emily and JJ spill their hearts out to the man trying to connect with him. The none profilers in the room could tell that was from the heart and they where both still hurting. Both Emily and JJ still had tears rolling down their faces.

EJ

"Tye, you need to end this now. Look down at your children they don't deserve this, look at their faces. Let them walk out of here and surrender to us. We will make sure your treated correctly." Emily asked

Tye looked like Emily's plea had failed. He turned and ejected the magazine and locked the slide back on a empty chamber and handed his gun over to Emily.

JJ escorted the children and his wife out of the meeting room handing them over to the FBI agents. Emily walked out behind Tye holding his gun clearly up in the air. He was taken by two agents for processing.

"Officers with me." A obviously very annoyed supervisor screamed.

Stood in-front of their supervisor they both unfastened their less than day old bad FBI police badges and placed them on his desk. "I would like to say it's a pleasure but I hate to be two faced." He smiled " officers please escort these two women off the premises." Smirked.

EJ

Both Emily and JJ had decided to drown their sorrows in, what ever came to hand. They didn't need to worry about work in the morning.

They started the alphabet game with Absinthe, and things just started getting worse the further they got down the alphabet.
