It had been a few days since Stefan's disappearance, and Damon had a bad feeling about it. He had called Bonnie multiple times for magical help but nothing was getting anything solved. Stefan remained missing. Normally Damon wouldn't be so worried. But he had almost asked every person in town and no one had found him. He hadn't been in school or at the grill. So when Damon walked into the sheriffs office Thursday evening, he told her everything and reported him missing and he was close to tears as Liz held him for comfort.

"I've searched everywhere twice. I haven't been home for days!" Damon sobbed.

"Then do that." Liz said. "Go home. Get some rest. I'll call if we find anything."

Damon nodded and returned home to get another restless night. It was around three in the morning when Liz called, saying that two of her deputies had found and unconscious boy in the woods with clothes way too big. Damon gave strict orders to not call the hospital before he had seen the boy, and so he ran to the sheriff's office as fast as possible. Just as Liz had said, there was an unconscious boy in an oversized hoodie in her office chair.

"Do you recognize him?" She asked.

Damon nodded. "It's Stefan."

They came up with the cover story; that Damon had gotten a girl pregnant in his early teen years. The child was given up for adoption and Damon had recently gotten him back. Stefan had decided to leave town to travel, but the child's name was Stefan as well, just because Damon had always been so fond of his little brother.

Who would know the truth? Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Liz, Tyler, Matt, Jeremy and Alaric.

Liz tried to convince Damon to take Stefan to a hospital, but Damon refused. He didn't know if Stefan was still a vampire, but whatever secret DNA he had within his body, it had to stay that way. He would get a witch to look his brother over later. He just needed to get him home for now.

Bonnie was already there when Damon arrived home with Stefan pressed against his chest. Bonnie took a deep breath as she saw the kid in Damon's hold.

After laying Stefan on his bed, Bonnie cut the palm of his hand and let the blood drip down into a bowl. Then she boiled it while chanting. She looked at Damon.

"I'm sorry... I really don't know. I mean he seems fine. He just seems younger."

Damon ran his fingers through his hair.

"What are you gonna do?" Bonnie asked.

"I guess I'm gonna have to be the father of him, since he has no one else to do it for him."
