After showing Stefan around the house, they both agreed on taking a nap, but Stefan wanted to do it in his own room and Damon let him.
"Hey Stef?" Damon asked as Stefan headed to his room. Stefan turned around to look at him.
"You good?"
Stefan nodded.
"Alright, well, you know where my room is in case you need me." Damon smiled. "Hug?"
Stefan smiled and ran to Damon. He wrapped his small arms around Damon's hips and Damon wrapped his arms around the younger boy. Hugging wasn't really Damon's thing. Especially after the eternity-of-misery-thing, but Stefan didn't remember that part of his life, and there was no need to make him feel guilty. Damon ruffled hair and told him to go to sleep.
When they both woke up later in the afternoon, Damon asked Stefan if he would like to go out to eat. He explained that there was a good place in town and came up with the idea of going to see a football game.
"What's football?" Stefan asked.
"It's a sport. It wasn't very popular back in the days but now it's huge. Teen-you were actually a really talented player."
Damon winked making Stefan smile and he agreed to going to see the game. So that was it. They went to the grill to get dinner even though Stefan didn't seem to recognize anything on the menu. Damon just ended up picking some kid's meal for him and choosing something for himself. Considering that Stefan had only been like this for a day, he was doing the blending job pretty good. He loved the food as well. Damon laughed as he saw Stefan's reaction to sprite. Note to self; don't let Stefan drink too much sprite. He's gonna end up with diabetes.
After dinner they walked to the Mystic Falls high school, where they found a couple of seats on the tribunes. It was quite late, but the moon and the stars added to the spirit of a football game and the players soon started to warm up. Stefan's eyes caught a few kids giving high fives for the players.
"Why are they doing that?" Stefan asked.
"Because they want to wish the players good luck." Damon said. Stefan concludes that he wanted to do that too, and so he started running down the tribune in a rush. Damon was watching the stars until he heard the familiar scream and his head shot in the direction of Stefan, who was laying at the bottom of the stairs, clutching his arm to his chest. He was crying loudly. So loud.
A woman ran to him immediately and Damon jumped up from the seat, pushing his way through the crowd. He finally dropped on his knees next to Stefan.
"It's okay. I'm his father." Damon told the woman and then picked Stefan up from the ground. "Thank you for your help."
He grabbed one of the player's water bottle and went back to his seat and placed Stefan on his lap.
"Owww." Stefan cried and hiccuped regularly. Damon looked him over. From what he could see, Stefan's arm was hurting and his knee was bleeding. He grabbed a napkin and put a bit of water on it. Then he gently wiped Stefan's knee. He sat for a while watching wether it would heal or not.
"Damon, my arm's throbbing." Stefan sobbed.
"I know, I know. Let me see. Try to bend your fingers for me." Damon said but Stefan was simply unable to. Damon held Stefan and get gently stroked his hair.
"You're gonna be okay. No worries."
