Chapter 178
"Please…. Please let me take them home…. Please Jonathan" Tegan cried softly as while walking out of the door with her hands in the air. Jonathan shoved her hard in the back. "Don't do that" shouted Jeremy. "I'm okay" whispered Tegan and kept walking. "Tegan, sit down" said Jeremy. "No you stay right where you are" said Jonathan still pointing the gun. "She's hurt Jon!" shouted Jeremy. "I don't care!" shouted Jonathan. "If you hurt her I'll never forgive you, never!" shouted Jeremy. Tegan held on to her side and staggered a bit as a wave of dizziness hit her. "Tee" shouted Jeremy and caught her as she started swaying. "I'm okay" mumbled Tegan and sat down on the couch. "Let me see" said Jeremy lifting her shirt. "I said I'm okay Jer" said Tegan. "Jon, please let me put a dressing on this, it's bleeding a lot" said Jeremy. "No… no no no" said Jonathan. "Jon, If you want me to listen, if you want us to ever have a chance again I need you to let me help Tegan" said Jeremy calmly. Jonathan closed his eyes tight and shook his head. "Please Jon, this is not you… this is not like you" said Jeremy softly. "Dammit, okay go… go get the first aid kit and come back. Leave your phone on the counter. If you try anything or call the cops I swear I'll kill her" said Jonathan.
"Can I see her? Please let me see her" said Sara to Abby in the hallway outside the ER room where they were treating Sonia. "I'll go see if that's possible Sara, just stay put here for a second" said Abby. Sara looked at the phone in her hand. She contemplated phoning Lindsey again but Abby called her over a second later. Abby led Sara into Sonia's cubicle. Sonia was still out of it with an oxygen mask on her face. "Mom… its Sara…. Open your eyes mom" said Sara touching her mom's hair softly. "She's going to be out of it a while longer Sar, but she's okay. We did a CT scan and it came back clean. We're just flushing those drugs out now. She'll be okay" said Kate with her hand on Sara's shoulder. "Kate I need to go find Tegan…" said Sara.
Tegan just stared at Jonathan while Jeremy went to get the first aid kit. "What are you staring at?" yelled Jonathan. "Why are you doing this Jon?" asked Tegan. "You won't understand" said Jonathan pacing around. "Why won't I understand?" asked Tegan. "You… you have your perfect little family…. You have everything" said Jonathan. "You can have that too one day… but I guarantee you, stealing somebody's kids and forcing somebody to love you isn't the way to do it" said Tegan. Jonathan slapped Tegan hard across her face. Tegan turned her head back slowly and spit out some blood without saying a word. A few seconds later Jeremy was back with the first aid kit. "Okay Tee just lie back for me" said Jeremy. Tegan lay back, not taking her eyes off Jonathan for a second. "It's quite deep" said Jeremy. "It's fine" said Tegan. "Stop stuffing around, just put some gauze on and tape it up" said Jonathan. Jeremy put a handful of gauze on the wound and taped it in place with some plaster. "You okay Tee?" he asked and touched her face.
"Come on Tegan… what's taking you so long" mumbled Lindsey. She dialled Sonia's number. There was of course, no answer. She tried Sara's number next. "Lindsey" Sara answered sounding spooked. "Hey Sar" said Lindsey cheerfully. "Linds…. Where's Tegan?" said Sara. "She's helping Jeremy pack. She'll be back in a few minutes. Can I ask her to call you?" said Lindsey. "Um…" said Sara. "Sara? Something wrong?" asked Lindsey sitting up straight. "Can you just ask her to call me urgently? I mean it, it's urgent" said Sara. "Sure" said Lindsey as Sara hung up the phone.
"Stop it, stop touching her" screamed Jonathan. Jeremy put his hands in the air. "Calm down" said Jeremy. "Don't you tell me to calm down" screamed Jonathan. Jeremy got up and walked slowly towards Jonathan. "Jon, just calm down for a second" said Jeremy. "You two… now I get it…. You two are still into each other aren't you?" said Jonathan. "Whaaa?" said Tegan looking confused. "She's my best friend Jon, that's it" said Jeremy. "Really?" said Jonathan sarcastically. "Yes, really" said Jeremy. "I don't believe you. Are you fucking her Jer? You are aren't you" he screamed at Jeremy. "You're nuts!" said Jeremy shaking his head with his hands in the air. "You like dick after all don't you rock star" said Jonathan. Tegan was in tears again. "Why are you crying bitch…. Because you know it's true? Do you feel guilty?" screamed Jonathan. Tegan just shook her head. "No… No" she mumbled. "How did your wifey get pregnant… did you have a threesome" screamed Jonathan like a lunatic and waved the gun around. Tegan was rocking backward and forward with her hands over her ears.
Jonathan stared at Tegan who had her eyes clenched closed. "Please Jon, just put the gun away. We can work this out" said Jeremy. "Just…. Give me second" said Jonathan and paced around. A minute later there was a knock on the front door. Jonathan looked at Jeremy and Tegan and put his finger in front of his mouth to indicate that they should stay quiet. "Shhhh" he said softly. Tegan looked completely terrified. "Tegan… Jer?" yelled Lindsey outside followed by some more knocks. Tegan sat up looking scared. "She knows we're in here" whispered Jeremy. "Well maybe she'll think you two escaped…. Or maybe you're having sex… in our bed" said Jonathan softly. Lindsey knocked again. "Tegan open up… baby, are you in there? Sara's looking for you urgently" screamed Lindsey. Tegan looked pale and as if she could vomit any second. Jeremy turned around and sat down next to her. He put his arm around her shoulder. "It's okay Tee… you're okay" he whispered. "Fuck you Jeremy… fuck you" shouted Jonathan. "Why are you doing this to me… why won't you just love me" screamed Jonathan. Lindsey was now banging on the door loudly after hearing the screaming. "Tegan… Tegaaan what's going on… Jer open up… open the door!" screamed Lindsey.
"Lindsey go…. Run" screamed Tegan. "Tegan?" said Lindsey. Jonathan ripped the door open and pulled Lindsey inside still pointing the gun at Tegan. "What… what's going on?" said Lindsey looking confused. "Phone" said Jonathan. Lindsey handed him her phone. He violently threw it against the wall and it shattered to pieces. "Jeremy, take her to the bedroom. Lock her in there" said Jonathan. "No Jon… please" said Jeremy. "Do it now… the guest room" said Jonathan. Jeremy didn't move. "I said now" screamed Jonathan. Jeremy led Lindsey to the bedroom. "What's going on?" whispered Lindsey. "Don't worry… it's going to be okay" whispered Jeremy and locked Lindsey in the bedroom.
Jeremy walked back into the living room and saw Jonathan still pointing the gun at Tegan. "Jon please just put the gun down" said Jeremy. Jonathan didn't move. "I love you Jeremy… we can be happy… we can be a family" said Jonathan. "Not if you don't put the gun down" said Jeremy. He looked down at Tegan and saw her breathing heavily. "Tegan are you okay?" he asked. "Yeah" said Tegan softly. "Take deep breaths" said Jeremy. Tegan started wheezing. "Tegan where's your inhaler?" said Jeremy urgently. Tegan patted around her pants pocket. "Let me help you" said Jeremy and moved towards Tegan. "Stay away from her!" screamed Jonathan. "I need to help her" said Jeremy. "I said stay put" said Jonathan. "I'm okay" wheezed Tegan and held her hand up to stop Jeremy. "Deep breaths Tee" said Jeremy, not getting any closer to Tegan. Jonathan was losing it more and more by the second. "You… it's always you…. Jeremy's always Tegan this, Tegan that…. Tegan, Tegan, fucking Tegan!" shouted Jonathan. Tegan started wheezing more and finally found her inhaler. She put it to her mouth and inhaled. It didn't seem to have much effect, Tegan wheezed some more. Jeremy rushed to Tegan's side. "Okay Tee just take another puff, you're okay" he said and helped Tegan put the inhaler to her lips. "I think it's better if you just get out of our lives…. For good" said Jonathan in rage and cocked the gun. "Jon no!" screamed Jeremy and threw himself in front of Tegan.
