Sara had her hand on Kate's thigh as they drove home after their gathering on the beach. "Thanks for today. I'm so glad I had you with me" said Sara and squeezed Kate's leg. Kate picked up Sara's hand and kissed it. "Love you" she said softly. "Love you too" said Sara. Sara turned around and looked at her sleeping baby in the car seat. "She's exhausted after the beach. Good thing we got some dinner into her while we were there. She's out for the count" said Sara. "She's so dirty but I think we should let her have a piggy night. I'm not going to wake her up now" said Kate. "I agree... we'll bath her in the morning" said Sara.

"You think Tegan's okay?" asked Kate. "I don't know" said Sara honestly. "Are you?" asked Kate. "I think so… yeah. I'm tense though, shoulders are killing me" said Sara rubbing her neck. "I'll run you a bath and give you a nice rubdown when we get home" said Kate sweetly. "You're the best baby. Do you have to work tomorrow?" asked Sara. "Yeah but my shift only starts at 10, we can sleep in" smiled Kate. "Ha, do you really think this little one will let us sleep in?" laughed Sara. "We should have taken your mom instead of having her stay at Tegan's" laughed Kate as she pulled up to a red light. "Yeah but on the other hand… Mom's a much lighter sleeper than Amelia and I was thinking… maybe… if you want to…" said Sara seductively, "we could make some noise tonight". Kate turned to Sara and quickly swallowed the excess saliva suddenly forming in her mouth. "Well maybe… I'm going to…" Kate started but was cut off by some irate hooting behind her. "Any moment now sunshine" shouted somebody out of the car behind her. Kate pulled away super slow to annoy the guy. He threw his hands up as she passed them. "Asshole" laughed Kate. Sara giggled. "I have to agree with him… hurry up! I want to get home" said Sara seductively and moved her hand up Kate's thigh and in between her thighs.

Kate jumped out of the car at record speed when they got home and started unbuckling Amelia. "Careful, don't wake her" said Kate. Kate put Amelia down on the changing table. Amelia must have suspected what was up because she went from giggly to furious when she saw the bottle and was now screaming her head off and refusing to have the bottle anywhere near her face. "You see mommy Kate… you just read with this tone of voice… and baby will fall right asleep. Yes she will" said Sara pretending to read. Amelia's eyes were blinking slowly and staying closed for longer periods between blinks. A few minutes later Sara read softer and softer and eventually stopped. She glanced over at Kate who was now fast asleep on the other side of Amelia. "Perfect" sighed Sara sarcastically. A few minutes later Sara was convinced that Amelia was out and she got up and very gently picked Amelia up to put her to bed. Two steps later Amelia was screaming again. Kate sat up startled. "I'm awake" she mumbled. Sara couldn't help laughing. "Ahhhhhgggg" she groaned.

"You should check her over babe… Maybe she's not feeling well. She could have a fever or something" said Sara looking concerned. "She's fine Sara, she's just being difficult" said Kate. "Please babe, it will put my mind at ease" said Sara. Kate shook her head and went to fetch her bag. "So… if I wasn't here would you take her to the ER right now" said Kate. "Don't be ridiculous" said Sara. Kate lifted her eyebrows. "What? There are certain perks to having a doctor as a wife" said Sara. "A wife?" said Kate and smiled. "You know what I mean… you're like my wife anyway… we're as good as married" said Sara. "No need to explain yourself baby… you just made me very happy by saying that… and very horny I have you know" said Kate. Sara put her hands over Amelia's ears. "She doesn't understand yet" said Kate laughing. "Yeah sure…. Kate joined Sara in Amelia's room a few minutes later. Sara was finishing putting on Amelia's pajamas, careful not to wake her. She didn't turn to Kate. "Babe? Kate followed a minute later.

Sara walked to the kitchen and turned on the kettle. "Finally, alone time" smiled Kate and put her hands around Sara's waist. Sara looked distant and turned her head away. I'll do it this time. I'll get pregnant. You can do your thing" said Kate. "Oh yeah? And if you get that department head job? And we have to tour in the coming year or two" said Sara. "I don't think I'm going to get it. And if I do I'm not even sure I'll take it" said Kate. "Of course you're going to get it" said Sara. "I... I don't know… listen I'm sorry I mentioned it. Tegan stared at herself in the bathroom mirror after brushing her teeth. She looked like shit. Her eyes were still red and she had dark rings under her eyes. Lindsey came in and gently kissed her cheek. Tegan turned away and walked back to the bedroom. She got into bed and stared at the ceiling. Lindsey came into the room a few minutes later. She got in next to Tegan and switched off the light. She put her hand on Tegan's belly and moved her hand up under her shirt. Tegan turned on her side, away from Lindsey. "Not tonight" she mumbled. "I know... I just want to comfort you" said Lindsey. Tegan sighed and squeezed her eyes closed. She put her hand back and found Lindsey's. She pulled her arm over her body. Lindsey nuzzled Tegan's neck. "It's going to be okay Boo... I love you. Sleep tight my angel" whispered Lindsey.
